She gathered the whole group for a photo, and once everyone left, she offered me a cold drink to help me unwind (she must have noticed how stressed I was, lol). Inside, the ambiance reminds me of Nor Cal - SF with a cool neighborhood restaurant where the surrounding area melts away. It's classy yet unpretentious. We took my Yelp friend Lori out for her birthday and we all chose the price fixe meal. The entrance can be confusing only because the front door jams shut and one has to go through the back of the restaurant. You get 4 course plus a bread course and amuse bouche. Let's pause for the bread course. This bite sized piece of heaven is otherworldly. They need to serve more of it throughout the meal. The chef's starter was lovely and then we settled into our meal. It will be European style service so definitely let them know if you need to hit a show or movie. From the four courses we tried a bit of everything: Beef tartar (wonderful and innovative version of this dish), foraged mushrooms, charred cabbage, beet passionfruit salad, filet mignon, duck confit, and the only dessert that matters: charred butter cake. All were stellar!! Not a miss on the menu and all at 5 star quality. We also had tea and a cocktail, again both were outstanding. The service needs refinement though. It's a step below Michelin level fine dining indeed. I brought two bottles of wine, corkage $25 each, and never once was our glasses filled. I filled up everyone's glasses all night. This was irritating as not only did I pay corkage, but they added $10 tip to corkage with automatic 20% tip at end. The server did not deserve that extra $10 although she was lovely throughout the meal except for one more misstep. After the main meal was over, I wanted to have some more of that wondrous bread and was told the kitchen was closed. We were never warned about this. Every restaurant tells the guests at least 15 minutes before the kitchen closes. Other than those minor mistakes, this was a fine dining meal not found anywhere else in this part of S Cal/Riverside County. Highly recommended!!

My husband and I chose Archive in Old Town Temecula to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary, and it was the best decision we could have made. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was truly next-level. The AGM, Cody, greeted us with a warm welcome that immediately set the tone for a special evening; his kindness in offering us a glass of anniversary wine was a thoughtful touch we've never experienced elsewhere. Our bartender and server, Mark, was phenomenal. His attention to detail and impeccable service elevated the entire meal. Speaking of the meal--this is true fine dining at its best. Best steak I've had in Temecula in a very long time! Walked in not sure what to expect. Got the fillet . Perfect char, buttery inside, no knife needed. Sides are simple but done right (the broccolini and mashed potatoes actually slaps--I said it). Cocktails are strong, staff is chill, no pretentious nonsense. Worth every penny. The only downside was I could only make a reservation at noon or BEFORE, so I made one for noon. Note: Their bottles of almond bubbly (and other flavors) are less expensive at other retail outlets than on-site at Wilson Creek. (You'd think it would be the opposite!) It is on the heavier side due to the brown farro butter but man, worth the calories.
