My partner and I got a steak and the short rib gnocchi. Both dishes came out cold and dry like they were sitting out for 45 minutes, which we had ordered everything right when we sat down. The restaurant wasn't busy at all, so unsure why the kitchen took so long. Although our server was very kind, none of the staff seemed very attentive as they all hang out at the bar drying cups. It was our first time dining at Archive and some dishes we ordered were delicious while others were very disappointing. We started with the marrow appetizer and octopus and both were great. We ordered the short rib gnocchi, ribeye and brussel sprouts and all three were okay. The 16 ounce ribeye had at least 6 oz of inedible fat, the brussel sprouts were really greasy and the short rib dish didn't have much sauce and was cold. The service was fair (service was slow with refilling water and server didn't ask if we were celebrating anything, which we were) but the ambiance was nice. Overall we'll likely come back to give it another chance but will definitely not be ordering the ribeye again. read more

I could only get through a few pieces. I don't know how to explain it but it just tasted off/strange. And I don't even know how they cooked it. No grill marks, no crust from a pan, was it boiled?
