They did a quick and clean job on my rental property. I will definitely use them again.

Best tree service around. Professional, reliable, affordable. They show up on time and finish as promised.

Arborland is great. Showed up on time, completed everything we discussed, and cleaned up afterwards. They are responsive and easy to deal with. We have used them many times. read more

This is the 2nd time I have used Arborland for tree work. Previously I had them cut down 3 trees and grind the stumps. This time I had them do some tree trimming on a different property. The work was done well and the place was left cleaner than before they arrived. Communication was good and the price was well within reason. Nelzon, the owner, did the estimate and made sure his crew did exactly what we had talked about in the quote. I highly recommend them for your next job! read more

I have Nelzon and his team here a few times a year to manage my trees. they are awesome and very reliable. great eye for trimming trees! these guys are my go to !! read more

I deal with many professional services and Arborland is one of the best in terms of honesty, quality of work, ability to meet timelines and pricing. Nelzon has been in business for decades because of this reason. When getting a quote his demeanor and professionalism is too notch and I felt like it was someone I knew and trusted for 20 years. He gave me a price competitive with other quotes, advised on how to cut my trees and how they should look for now and how they will grow out in the future and then scheduled a day to finish all work on my busy timeline. The work was done perfectly and beautifully. The team of 5-8 guys did excellent work and left my front and backyard cleaner than when they first started. They even cut large pieces of wood into movable pieces I can use for firewood. Highly recommended and you won't be disappointed with Arborland. Thank you Nelzon and your great team! read more

Prompt and professional, Nelzon and his crew made fast and efficient work of removing our two large trees. We have used Arborland before and have recommended them to friends and family, all of whom have been similarly happy with their work. read more

Nelzon was recommended by a friend and I am so glad we were able to have his crew do the work on our Hollywood juniper. He was not in a rush to get the job done, like several others, and actually recommended we wait until winter so the tree would be in a dormant state. Had we done it when he first came to assess the job, the tree would likely have not fared as well and would have bled a lot of sap. I was really impressed by his knowledge and advice, which no other tree companies had given. He listened carefully and repeated what I was asking him to do, showing me cut lines with a laser. He understood that I was looking for aesthetic balance and some openness as the tree had become oversized and oppressive in our small yard. What his crew achieved was just what we hoped for - reduction in size and bulk with some airiness, while still offering privacy from our neighbors. And they did it in the time promised and left the yard (and a few of our neighbors) clean and in order. The cost was between a few other bids, but given the whole experience we felt good about the money spent - a very good value. I highly recommend Nelzon and Arborland Tree Service! read more

Rarely do you provide a review that describes great service from start to finish. Nelzon and Arborland get such a review. The process of setting up the initial visit was easy. Nelzon was on time and the process of getting a quote was professional with no heavy sales approach. On the day of the tree trim, the entire crew was on time and very careful to evaluate the home to both protect our property and maintain their safety. They did an outstanding job trimming a very large Elm. A perfect tree haircut. In addition, I threw the team a curve ball and asked if they could trim another tree we had not discussed previously. Nelzon not only agreed, but he had to have one of his team drive his his big truck back to Martinez and swap it for another big truck appropriate to cut the extra tree (needed a special aerial basket). He did it all with a great attitude! The clean-up was meticulous. Just a great group of guys. I would highly recommend Arborland. Great value and a joy to work with. read more

Arborland Tree Service is the best in the business! I've been using them for over 20 years now since Nelzon first "branched" off and started his own company. Nelzon and his crew are top-notch--professional, hardworking, and truly skilled at what they do. They have all the right equipment, from bucket trucks to chippers and stump grinders, to handle any job, big or small. Whether it's tree removal, trimming, or stump grinding, they provide full-service work with precision and efficiency. I am so happy that a friend recommended Arborland. They have worked at my house twice now and I can tell you that their service is exceptional. The owner, Nelzon Castellanos, meets with the homeowner before and after the job to make sure that exactly what the homeowner wanted done has been accomplished. He is an excellent communicator and his prices are very reasonable. His employees work hard and periodically check with the homeowner to see that everything is going as requested. I was in awe of everything that they were able to accomplish. They took care of huge trees and smaller bushes as well. The cleanup was also done very well. In my experience, the level of quality from this company far exceeds the norm. read more

I'm writing to sing the praises of Arborland Tree Service, a complete tree service company that left me feeling like my wallet and my trees were both in good hands. From the first contact to the final cleanup, their professionalism, efficiency, and reasonable pricing impressed me at every turn. Professionalism from the Roots Up: From the initial consultation to the final walk-through, Nelzon and team exuded expertise and courtesy. At the initial consult, Nelzon patiently explained the needs of my trees and offered tailored recommendations, not just a one-size-fits-all approach. For this project, Nelzon's crew had to top and trim a giant 30-year old mulberry tree, clear out dead branches for several plum trees, removal of 3 dead plum trees, and top and trim a tall birch tree. The crew of 5 arrived on time, fully equipped with a crane and chipper truck, and got to work very quickly. Their communication throughout the process was clear and helpful, keeping me informed every step of the way. I also appreciated the text reminder from Nelzon a few days before this appointment. Efficiency Like a Well-Oiled Machine: The trimming process was a marvel of efficiency. The crew worked quickly and cohesively, utilizing their tools and equipment with practiced skill. They respected my property, minimizing disruption and leaving no mess behind. The entire job was completed within the estimated timeframe, which was a welcome relief in today's world of unexpected delays. Reasonably Priced for a Healthy Future: Let's face it, tree care can be expensive. But Arborland Tree Service struck a perfect balance between affordability and quality. Their pricing was transparent and competitive, and the final bill matched the initial estimate. We did ask for additional trimming of the plum trees which added a few hundred dollars to the initial estimate. However, we thought the added pricing was reasonable considering that the crew had to do extra work to trim the tree branches and offshoots. More importantly, the value they delivered was evident in the improved health and appearance of my trees, an investment that will pay off for years to come. In a nutshell: If you're looking for a professional, efficient, and reasonably priced tree trimming service, look no further than Arborland Tree Service. They'll take care of your trees with expertise and care, leaving you with a healthier landscape and a lighter wallet (in a good way!). I highly recommend them to anyone who wants the best for their trees and their budget. read more

Nelzon and his crew did a great job in pruning our large 50 foot valley oak that is in our backyard that hangs over some of our home. This was a challenging job due to overhanging branches over the building. They rose the canopy, removed dead wood, thinned out and removed larger limbs to reduce weight on heavy limbs. Protected all areas and cleaned up as if they were never there. Excellent arborists. read more

Excellent, well-priced tree trimming. We had the huge, lone redwood in my backyard trimmed last week by Arborland Tree Service and were so impressed. Nelson was so professional in the planning phase, explained what he recommended, and provided a written proposal. Then his crew arrived as scheduled and did a thorough, perfect job thinning out and trimming both for the health of the tree and also to improve the sun in my garden and the views from the house. His crew members were all exceptionally nice and they really knew what they were doing. (The older guy who climbed to the top has apparently been doing this work for thirty years!) In addition, they dug out a pesky swath of two-story bamboo in a narrow area on the side of the house for a reasonable rate. Overall, a great experience! I would highly recommend them! Nelson and his guys are great! I used them twice and both times they could serve as an example of how professional work should be done. 1) Nelzon discussed with me in detail what needs to be done, how they are going to do it and offered advice when I wasn't sure 2) The team worked quickly and confidently as people who know well what they are doing 3) After they finished, they cleaned the job site thoroughly. Nelzon has taken on various projects for our family for over 7 years, from tree pruning to maintenance, I have no complaints or gripes, it's ALL GOOD. Arborland cut down a massive Monterey pine that was over 60 years old and on its last good root many years back. Arborland's prices are fair, not on the low end or the high end, it's fair. Nelzon has great response and call back time, and an amazing hardworking crew. This is a family and locally run business, support them. Honesty, gets the job done and cares about the crew and their safety and leaves me feeling safer in the end. An amazing pruning job and not an easy one. Our tree is over 60 feet tall with 15 foot branches and Nelzon's brother tackled it like an artist and an acrobat. What are you waiting for? Call him before the next storm hits. read more

We hired Arborland to cut down a huge double trunk pine tree. Before the work began I was impressed with how Nelson, the owner, constantly kept in touch with us about start date etc. Also, he made sure he got the work booked in quickly. Knowing how the team works I can see why you don't need to wait months for work to be done. If you could compare watching a large tree being cut down to a ballet that is what is was like! So well choreographed, organized, efficient and not a minute wasted. The whole team worked hard. The clean up was perfect too. I highly recommend this company. read more

Nelzon is an excellent communicator. He is professional, prompt, and a very knowledgeable arborist. His workers do an excellent job, friendly and efficient. They are very conscientious to avoid any damage to all the surroundings while working. This time we had them remove two large Monterey Pines that were diseased due to beetle infestation. Clean-up was very thorough. Can't say enough good things about Nelzon and his company. We will only use them for all our tree servicing needs. Nelzon and his crew were excellent. Nelzon and his crew were at our neighbor's house trimming some trees. Being that we have been wanting to get rid of a couple of trees in our backyard, we asked to see if they could give us an estimate. Nelzon came over and gave us a great estimate. Not only was his estimate very reasonable, he was able to book us within a couple of weeks. On the day the work was to be done his crew showed up on time, walked through the yard with me confirming what was to be removed and trimmed and then got right to work. They were quick and did an excellent job! A couple of hours later, the stump grinder guys came and ground out the two stumps. Overall I was very impressed with how professional Nelzon and his crew were. The trees they trimmed look very healthy now and those that they removed--well you can't tell a tree was even there. Highly recommend. read more

This is not a review of the quality of Arborland's work. Judging from all the positive reviews I'm sure they do just fine. Sometime during the last few years businesses have gotten the idea that it's okay to ignore potential customers. For instance, they'll direct you to leave them a message and they promise to get back to you, but they never do. Or they actually make an appointment with you and then never show up. That's the case here. Last week we contacted Arborland to get an estimate for a tree removal. They made an appointment to come out several days later during a specific one hour window. We made certain to be home during that hour. They didn't show up, didn't call and we have not heard from them since. Perhaps if businesses were more often held accountable they would come to understand that our time is as important to us as theirs is to them. read more

Nelzon and crew were extremely well-versed in trimming trees, in my case ~70ft gum eucalyptus, about 7 of those MFs. The crew took my directions and cut back all branches hanging over my property. The trees belong to the punk ass neighbor. Nelzon was nice enough to take 2 separate payments. A little loose/rough with cleanup/damage. Made scratches on my fence from lowering branches. Nevertheless, I'd retain their services again in the future. Also, Arborland's quote came in 2nd lowest of 5 others. 1st in availability. Worked out perfectly! read more

Nelzon is punctual, always on time and returns calls the same day. He is extremely professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and experienced. They showed up right on time the day that they were scheduled. The crew got to work right away. They worked efficiently and two of them pruned two big trees simultaneously. I was very impressed. Trees look great. The crew did a great job and the yard was thoroughly cleaned up quickly. I would highly recommend Nelzon and his company "Arborland Tree Service". read more

We found Arborland Tree Service while walking our dogs in our neighborhood. We saw the trucks, I made a call, the owner Nelzon called me back, stopped by later that day for an estimate and a couple days later they were at our house to take out one of our trees. They showed up right on time and did such a great job. The crew was very professional, the job was done quickly, including grinding the stump, they cleaned the area before they left and the price was lower than the other bids we had received. I would highly recommend this company. Thank you Nelzon and crew! read more

Yeah, we would give them ten stars, too. They have been coming here for years after another tree service did a bad job on the trees. Now they take care of our huge Valley Oaks, Cedars, and Bays. We've lived here for over 50 years, and they have never looked as good. The reason that I'm taking the time to write this review is they saved us last week. When the atmospheric river came through the Bay Area we had a huge mudslide into the creek. It has been a nightmare. We knew that the Bays nearest the creek would have to be taken out and it was heartbreaking. They came out to consult and said that they could be saved if they took some serious weight off them. I think that another tree company could have taken advantage of the situation. It seemed obvious to us that they couldn't be saved, but they thought of the trees and not how much money they could make. They are also sweet about everything which is what we needed after a serious slide on our property. We won't be using another company. I think you should give them a try. read more
