I couldn't be happier with Aqua Masters. I had to replace a malfunctioning pool heater, did my research, decided on a model. Richard recommended an option that I wasn't aware of, I did my research on that one, turned out it was a much better fit for my situation for about the same cost. Richard called me a few days before the install, asked to come by to measure again so that they would have all the parts needed. They showed up on time, as Richard had for the prior two appointments (kind of rare in this business), completed the work within the time estimate, and it's been working flawlessly for 2 months. They even upgraded some parts on my filter for no additional cost. I feel compelled to share my experience with this pool service. I used to recommend but sadly no longer. I had to move on to a different service because of the amount of times my pool was simply not cleaned or it was " scheduled" without my knowledge to a later date. I like to use my pool on the weekend and my scheduled day is Friday. However, on many days the pool is not cleaned. The last time I called to see why it wasn't cleaned I received a angry text commenting about a bill for chemicals (which I responded to when I received it 7 months prior). No conversation since so I assumed it had been resolved. It is always a shame to see a company forget that customers are first and deserve what they pay for. Do not use this service! read more

We were impressed when we met with Aqua Masters, they seemed very knowledgable. They knew what needed to be fixed with our pool filter, and seemed positive and hands-on. In our first service they cleaned our equipment and got the pool tuned up and it had never been cleaner. But...they left a mess around the filter and heater and grounds with D.E. They said they'd clean it up on a future visit and never did. Aqua Masters then sent a new service person to clean the pool that we weren't told about. He never introduced himself. He did fix a leak on our heater, but asked to borrow a hacksaw from me (said he couldn't find his) and then after cutting some PVC, cleaned off the parts in the pool itself! (And charged us $80.00 for 10 minutes of work.) Not professional. The service person was also smoking out by the Aqua Masters truck and when my wife asked him to not smoke he just shrugged her request off. Not professional. Within the first month, Aqua Masters said it was too hard for them to get the safety net off our pool, in order to clean it. To do this every week, they would need to charge us an additional $40 a month. (We had already agreed on a monthly price four weeks earlier.) To suggest an up-charge on something so simple we thought was not acceptable. We offered to show them how to operate the safety net but they had initially told us it wasn't a problem. We didn't find them to be hard working or reliable in the end, and cannot recommend them. read more

My family has lived in our Burbank home for 10 years and we are on our 4th pool service company--and we are very patient, forgiving people. The first 3 service companies were extremely unreliable and often MIA. Our pool turned green with algae with the last company. We finally had enough! We turned to YELP in search of a service company that we could count on to provide consistent service with good communication, and we were willing to pay a premium for it. Aqua Masters is that company! Not only are they reliable, communicative, and genuinely nice guys but our pool has never looked better. They don't skimp on the products they use to clean our pool and, as a result, the pool shimmers and the water is downright velvety. All I can say is that you get what you pay for. read more

Despite the high cost of their service ($170.00/mo) I really like these guys at first. They were responsive and seemed knowledgeable. I know that every experience is going to be different and subjective. But I was having major problems with my spa. It overflows into my pool with a waterfall. I kept losing pressure, the waterfall would not go on when the pump turned on every day. I had to physically go out, switch the valves to "spa" and blow the air out of the lines in order for the pressure to work the waterfall. AquaMasters kept telling me that I possibly had cracks in the lines or damage somewhere, and this was allowing air into the lines at some point. They kept readjusting the valves on the equipment but could never quite get it right. I was demanding, for $170.00 a month I expected the best pool service EVER!!!! But one day they quit on me. No notice, they just texted me and quit. That was no surprise to me. But what was a surprise was what my new pool service guy found when he came in. My filter was FILTHY. It appeared to not have been cleaned or maintained at all. For $170.00 a month, to have my filter look like that and to not have been cleaned properly is just unacceptable. My new guy cleaned the entire thing out and guess what?? My waterfall and the pressure in the pool has been perfect ever since. I have not had one single issue with my pool since I switched pool guys. Aqua Masters, shame on you. read more

Price was affordable and I was happy to have an extremely responsive team, even for my small job. Rich and Ryan are the best in the business. I used the company that came with my house for several years and was continually frustrated as our equipment regularly broke down and it was obvious we had a leak but the leak company they sent out denied any leak. After hiring Aqua Masters I found out of my equipment wasn't functioning properly and they fixed and/or replaced the equipment. They also sent out a fabulous guy who used sonar equipment to find the link (yes, there was a big one). They also worked with my internet guy to get the bugs worked out. My pool had turned green in a matter of three days in a heat wave and I had a pool party scheduled for that next Saturday. I called Aqua Masters and after treating the water and realizing that some parts in my filter had torn and broken, and having just two days left for the party, A.Masters supplied the new parts, turned the pool water around and came by first thing Saturday morning to brush it one more time and to test the water. My pool was sparkling blue and spotless by the time my guests arrived in the early afternoon. Richard was great in discussing what had to be done right up to the last day. As other reviewers posted, "I gave it one star because you can't do zero.... " Don't be fooled by the good reviews because clearly those were posted by friends and family of this company. They either get an amazing 5 star review or a 1 star review. Doesn't make much sense, right? That's because the 1 star reviews are real customers like myself. These guys send out nonsensical online invoices ranging from $4000 to $275, ignore e-mails and calls, show up UNANNOUNCED only to leave and say they will come back but never do. After 2 months I'm worse off because now my spa has a major leak that it never did. When I inquired about the major leak and refused to pay their inflated $125 a month cleaning service for a SINGLE SPA, they sent me an e-mail refusing to do anymore work claiming they are "too busy." Then got a voice-mail from Rich "apologizing." I gave these guys multiple chances to do the right thing before leaving this review. My latest e-mail and phone call was ignored. read more

After my pool guy cut out on me leaving my pool to go almost black, I ran into ryan accidentally at the DO iT CENTER here in burbank and i saw his sign on his car,I asked him if he could come and look at my black water in my pool and he came right over..Not only was my pool water shot but my pump was broken too. He said he could fix both and i was immediately relieved..I did not have the money for the pump at the time so he actually went and bought the pump for me put it in and let me pay him back later..Wow, people like Ryan do not even exist anymore...This guy is amazing..I cant say enough about this fine young hard working man and his professional staff. He also shows up every week and has never missed a week in the 7 years i have been with him..My pool looks amazing and i really cannot say enough about these Aqua Masters other than Thank You. We have some bubbles problem in our pool for many months. It got worse that I can't even run the vacuum to clean my pool. Got desperate so I asked my neighbor and she recommended me Richard and Ryan of Aqua Masters. I called them right away and got to talk with Richard. He's nice, honest and knowledgeable. He told us how he will fix the problem. He sent 3 guys to start working on the skimmer. Super duper, they finished it in one day. We were happy with the results so we asked them to get us a new pool pump and a filter. Richard gave us a good deals. Bought the units and install it the next day. He even hauled the old heater! You tell him what you can afford and how do you want them to do it and he will work for you. Got the chance to talk with Ryan, Richard's partner in business and he is good too! Good owners so as the workers too! Really highly recommended them. You won't get disappointed! read more

On their 1st visit, we addressed our concerns about our newly built pool as to why there are no ripples on the water when under 'self-clean' to move debris from pool & the seemingly professional rep from Aqua Masters mentioned we need to purchase a 'black algae' solution & buy a 'floatie' to keep the pool clean & that'll help with the ripples. Huh? Anyway. We paid for those costs upfront but it didn't make sense to us; & when his cleaner came, he stated, 'wow, this is the cleanest pool i've ever seen on the job...did you just build it?' ya, in 2010. So of course this was a red-flag right off the start. A couple weeks later, we noticed that the black algae solution's cap seal wrap was still in-tact, when pool guy came over, we asked why he hadn't used it by now? he said he didn't know he was supposed to use it since he doesn't see any 'black algae' anywhere. Very odd why the office doesn't communicate with their cleaners. A few more weeks went by & we noticed the floatie didn't have anything in it. When pool guy came on his weekly routine, we asked why isn't there anything in this? he said, 'you're supposed to buy the tablet & then I'll put it in there to keep the pool clean.' This infuriated us much more & when we called the rep, he said, 'ya, you didn't tell me to order the bleach tablet so i never did.' But why would he suggest we PAY for the floatie when he's not going to put anything in it? Why didn't he even mention we'd also have to buy tablets for that floatie? How would WE know, isn't he the professional? & why would he charge us extra for the black aglae solution when we didn't even need it to being with? Ugh! At the end, when we asked them to cancel our service (with 1 week still paid upfront), rep said they 'HAVE to charge us a cancelling fee of $50'. Really? We weren't on a lease contract nor were there any mentions of such fees. A week after we cancelled, the same pool guy came knocking on our door asking to open the gate to the pool; we told him the services were cancelled a week ago & he said, 'oh, i didn't know, no one said anything to me so i wasn't aware that you cancelled the service, sorry.' Very disappointed and not happy with Aqua Masters. And yet, the problem with the ripples was never solved, just wasted 5 months of our time & money. We then hired a local guy & after a thorough inspection of the pool & its system, he said the filter container is cracked, rusted & needs replacing from the inside, once he did, lo and behold, ripples and waves EVERYWHERE in my pool.
