Additional costs for damages done to sprinkler system and pipes by Commercial Pool and Spa.
    Sandy B.

Commercial Pool and Supply rebuilt my 14,000 gallons plaster pool. The initial estimate was $17,945.00. See invoice During the demolition phase, new"findings" were coming up, and this means more $$$. By the time the project was completed, additional $4032.00 was added. See invoice. On top of the $4032 additional "findings" it was strongly recommended that I replace the Pentair Pool Pump and Filter. This could have easily added another $4500 to the overall cost. Two of my BIGGEST complaints are: I was charged $600 to seal the bottom of 5 foot square fountain that is about 12" high. The oral agreement was to seal with new plaster at the same time my main pool is being worked on. Instead, Commercial Pool mixed a bag of ready concrete you can find from Home Depot and poured the mixture where the drain is. I told Commercial Pool I could have done this myself for less than $25.00. Regardless, the mixture of concrete at the bottom of the fountain did not stop the water loss in a matter of 4 hours. SECOND complaint: around the apron of the pool where Commercial Pool says my copper pipe has corroded and must be replaced, the workers managed to crack my irrigation pipes and severe my outdoor lighting cable around the pool area. Because it was all covered with soil, I was not aware of this problem after the pool project was completed. This cost me an additional sum of $1311.60 Overall, my dissatisfaction with Commercial Pool is being enticed with a low bid only to be given so many "problems" that drives up the overall cost. The "coverup" of damages done to my existing water pipes and lighting cable is not honest. Last but not least, the $600 charge for sealing my small pond, only to find out it was a mixture of concrete mix and not pool plaster, really tops it all. Review the photos and quotes attached as proof of the comments I have made above.

This is how my pool was left by Commercial Pool & Spa

This is one of the most dishonest companies I have ever dealt with. I hired them to maintain a pool and spa at my father's house who had recently passed away, so the property was vacant. They took advantage of the fact that I was not there by claiming they had come when they didn't, that they had cleaned the spa when they didn't, that equipment needed replacing that didn't, that chemicals were needed that weren't and that they could not open the lock on the gate that every other contractor opens with no problem. The problem is that the owner, Zack is a very friendly person so it is hard to imagine he is as dishonest as he is. Here is a list of issues that happened after I hired this company: 1. Supposedly could not come by at the scheduled time because the pool cleaner could not open the gate. The gardener uses this same gate with the same code 3 times per week. 2. Claimed that spa was being cleaned/maintained weekly (I paid extra for this). Never happened. I have video footage from each visit where the maintenance guy went straight to the pool and left without ever even going to the spa. 3. Tried to get me to pay $1395 to replace my filter and grids, claiming equipment was "old and rebuilt". I just had both (and pump) replaced within the past year. 4. Most importantly, this company added 4X times the correct amount of conditioner to my pool (44lbs in 6 months) which was extremely damaging. Too much conditioner decreases sanitation and blocks the effect of chlorine altogether. It is almost impossible to fix once too much conditioner has been added. The only real solution is to drain the pool. Putting too much conditioner in my pool was the final straw for me and I switched companies at that point. My entire pool turned green with algae. Wish I had gotten another company months before when I realized how bad Commercial Pool was but literally did not have time to deal with finding another company. At my expense, I had to drain my entire pool and do a chlorine wash to remove the algae that resulted from the excessive conditioner they added (see pic). Again, I warn anyone against using this company no matter how "nice" they may seem.

Oscar's Pool Service - Tile installation

    Oscar's Pool Service

We just finished a complete renovation of our pool with Oscar's Pool Service, and I can honestly…read moresay it was one of the best decisions we've made as homeowners. When we bought our house three years ago, we knew the pool needed to be redone. Unfortunately, because of other major repairs, we had to wait. Our house was a flip, and whoever patched up the pool before us did a quick, cosmetic job that started falling apart within months. The plaster came off in sheets, the 1960s tile was covered in decades of calcium buildup, the coping was old red brick with mortar literally crumbling out, and some jets and plumbing didn't even work. The pool was technically swimmable, but it was depressing to look at. This summer our weekly pool cleaner told us the plaster was about to fail completely, so we started calling around for estimates. Most of the big corporate companies gave us inflated quotes and made us feel like just another job number. A trusted friend recommended Oscar's, so we checked Yelp, saw all the great reviews, and gave him a call. Oscar came out immediately, took careful measurements, walked us through every detail, and his knowledge and professionalism instantly won our trust. From there, the process moved quickly. Within a week of signing, his crew demoed the entire pool in just a few hours. We got to choose tile from several suppliers and ended up with a beautiful pebble mosaic that matched our house. At first, we thought we'd keep the old red brick coping, but at the last minute we switched to a modern dark gray brick. Best decision ever! It completely transformed the look of our backyard. As often happens with older homes, surprises came up: our original 1964 gas and electrical lines were corroded and had to be replaced. Oscar handled everything--brought in trusted contractors, coordinated the work, and saved us the headache of dealing with multiple companies. While we were at it, we upgraded our equipment to a top-of-the-line Jandy system with Wi-Fi controls, plus added a heater and automatic pool filler. Yes, the budget went up, but every upgrade was worth it. Watching the transformation was amazing. Once the new tile, coping, and plaster went in, it felt like we had a brand-new pool built from scratch. The white plaster makes the water sparkle, the equipment runs quietly and efficiently, and with the heater and lights, we can swim comfortably day or night, year-round. Beyond the work itself, what made the experience so special was Oscar and his family. He's personable, honest, hardworking, and clearly cares about his craft. His crew was professional, respectful, and fast. By the end, it felt like we weren't just hiring a contractor--we were working with people who truly cared about making our home better. Now every time we step into our backyard, we can't believe the difference. What was once an eyesore is now the centerpiece of our home, and we're enjoying it constantly. If you need pool renovation, plaster, tile, coping, or even just reliable weekly service in the San Fernando Valley--call Oscar's. He's the best! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3DKKSP_c4UY

Look at this pool. This is what it looks like after a FULL MONTH of "service" from this company…read more All they do is lie. They promised to come, they promised to fix it, they promised proof of service -- every single time it was "I'll send it, I'll send it." Nothing ever came. Because they never actually did the work. I took down my last negative review because they promised everything would be fixed on Friday. Friday came. No one showed up. Again. I'm done. I'm moving to another company because my pool is destroyed and I can't keep giving chances to people who only know how to lie. This review stays up. I don't care what they promise this time . I've heard every version of it already. Please do not trust this company. Stay far away if you care about your pool. UPDATE in response to the company's reply: The company claims their team came out yesterday. They did not. I was home all day, and I have security camera footage that confirms no one came to my property ,yesterday or any other day. They are now using one lie to cover another. They claim they serviced the fountain "as a courtesy" yesterday. No one was here. They claim it takes 24-48 hours for water to clear. That would be relevant if anyone had actually shown up to treat it. They also say the fountain wasn't part of my agreement. Forget the fountain for a moment! look at the POOL. My pool is half green. The pool IS in my agreement, and it looks worse than I did a month ago when I signed up. In one full month of "service," I have: * Never received a single service report, despite asking for proof basically every day * Never received before/after photos or any documentation * Watched my pool turn completely green And now they want to be paid for a month of service that never happened, and they're framing my refusal to pay as "unfair." What's unfair is being charged for work that wasn't done and being lied to repeatedly when I asked for proof. Please stay away from this company.Green pools don't lie. The absence of any report or photo in a full month doesn't lie. They say the fountain (small pool) wasn't in my agreement. And here's the part that shows they either don't understand pools or are pretending not to: ALL THE WATER ON THIS PROPERTY IS INTERCONNECTED. It flows between the pool and the fountain. If one section turns green, the whole system turns green. You cannot "service the big pool" while ignoring a green fountain feeding into the same water . that's not how pools work. Here's the part that should concern any potential customer: they sent me a photo of the small pool just now completely green and said NOTHING. No "hey, this looks bad, do you want us to add it to your service?" . They just let it sit and turn green for a month. That's not a service issue , that's a character issue. A responsible company would tell the owner: "This isn't part of your current plan, but it's deteriorating fast, would you like us to take care of it?" Instead, they watched it get destroyed and said nothing until I brought it up. And the reason I didn't notice it because they never sent me any picture the entire month until I complain right now. So if they have sent a picture of how green and how much it was destroyed earlier, I would have noticed it and asked them to take care of it as well. Now this damage is irreversible. And then there's the big pool which IS in my agreement and is also half green after a full month of service because they completely ignore the fountain that share the same water with the pool. Completely ridiculous !!!
