I was having trouble with my pool heater, which I had purchased from Commercial Pool & Spas. I was able to get someone out the same day. It actually was the same person who had installed the heater for me. He asked me what was happening or not happening, and I told him. He diagnosed the issue after about 15 minutes of looking into it. He told me what was wrong and gave me an estimate. It was a great experience. The service man, Zack, was personable and very helpful. I was very pleased with the service I got from them when I purchased the system a few years back, and I was just as pleased today. I recommend them highly. I had trouble with a cloggednline and they suggested a Hydro Air Pressure to clean the line. Iy didn't work but then they suggest another Specialist and he unclogged it with more pressure. If I could leave zero stars, I would. Commercial Pool & Spa showed up to my house and immediately disrespected my property and my time. They parked in my driveway without asking, walked straight into my backyard, and even went into my shed--without ever ringing the doorbell or letting me know they were there. The pool pump was in plain sight on the walkway, but apparently that wasn't good enough. When I asked why he didn't ring the bell, the worker snapped back that he "doesn't have time for this" and had to be somewhere else in an hour. How is that my problem? I'm not his scheduler. Instead of handling things professionally, he told me he was leaving and stormed off. That kind of arrogance and attitude has no place in customer service. To make matters worse, they grossly overcharged me. I later called another pool company, who charged me less than half of what Commercial Pool & Spa did. Not only were they much more reasonably priced, but they were polite, professional, and even went the extra mile by helping me register my product after installation--something Commercial Pool & Spa never bothered to do. The person I spoke to for Commercial Pool & Spa tried to apologize, but honestly, who would want people like that back at their home? Between the unprofessional behavior, lack of respect, and outrageous overcharging, this company is one to avoid. The technician that usually does the water over Flo work was on vacation, but he would check the other staff to see if someone else could do the work. He got back to me right away with a technician that was experienced with the work. He came within two days and completed the work. Zack was also more thorough in fixing the issue than the other person I received a proposal from, and only slightly higher, but he was doing a more thorough job. They know their stuff! I'm revising my review of the company. They reported that they were having problems getting their email from their service provider and said that were available to provide an estimate for the work the next day (i.e. replacement of a pool pump which was at least 25 years old probably closer to 40 years). Zak the owner came out on 4/3/2025 and said he could provide an estimate that day. The estimate recommended change of the pump and an acid wash. I did ask when they could start work on the pump and was told the following day. Zak came out that day and installed the pump. He threw away the pump's packing material and cleaned up the other debris from removal and installation of the old pump. A worker came over on 4/7/2025 to do the acid wash. All in all the work was done in a professional manner pursuant to the estimate and in the time frame that was represented. read more

For over a decade we have been with Commercial Pool & Spa for our apartment buildings. Both for repairs and weekly maintenance. All repairs and upgrades were done promptly and to code (very important in Los Angeles). They are very busy, so be patient as their call back time may be the next day. We have now sold our buildings (not wanting to deal with Los Angeles inspectors anymore), but I highly recommend Commercial Pool for your commercial properties. read more

Commercial Pool and Supply rebuilt my 14,000 gallons plaster pool. The initial estimate was $17,945.00. See invoice During the demolition phase, new"findings" were coming up, and this means more $$$. By the time the project was completed, additional $4032.00 was added. See invoice. On top of the $4032 additional "findings" it was strongly recommended that I replace the Pentair Pool Pump and Filter. This could have easily added another $4500 to the overall cost. Two of my BIGGEST complaints are: I was charged $600 to seal the bottom of 5 foot square fountain that is about 12" high. The oral agreement was to seal with new plaster at the same time my main pool is being worked on. Instead, Commercial Pool mixed a bag of ready concrete you can find from Home Depot and poured the mixture where the drain is. I told Commercial Pool I could have done this myself for less than $25.00. Regardless, the mixture of concrete at the bottom of the fountain did not stop the water loss in a matter of 4 hours. SECOND complaint: around the apron of the pool where Commercial Pool says my copper pipe has corroded and must be replaced, the workers managed to crack my irrigation pipes and severe my outdoor lighting cable around the pool area. Because it was all covered with soil, I was not aware of this problem after the pool project was completed. This cost me an additional sum of $1311.60 Overall, my dissatisfaction with Commercial Pool is being enticed with a low bid only to be given so many "problems" that drives up the overall cost. The "coverup" of damages done to my existing water pipes and lighting cable is not honest. Last but not least, the $600 charge for sealing my small pond, only to find out it was a mixture of concrete mix and not pool plaster, really tops it all. This is one of the most dishonest companies I have ever dealt with. I hired them to maintain a pool and spa at my father's house who had recently passed away, so the property was vacant. They took advantage of the fact that I was not there by claiming they had come when they didn't, that they had cleaned the spa when they didn't, that equipment needed replacing that didn't, that chemicals were needed that weren't and that they could not open the lock on the gate that every other contractor opens with no problem. The problem is that the owner, Zack is a very friendly person so it is hard to imagine he is as dishonest as he is. Here is a list of issues that happened after I hired this company: 1. Supposedly could not come by at the scheduled time because the pool cleaner could not open the gate. The gardener uses this same gate with the same code 3 times per week. 2. Claimed that spa was being cleaned/maintained weekly (I paid extra for this). Never happened. I have video footage from each visit where the maintenance guy went straight to the pool and left without ever even going to the spa. 3. Tried to get me to pay $1395 to replace my filter and grids, claiming equipment was "old and rebuilt". I just had both (and pump) replaced within the past year. 4. Most importantly, this company added 4X times the correct amount of conditioner to my pool (44lbs in 6 months) which was extremely damaging. Too much conditioner decreases sanitation and blocks the effect of chlorine altogether. It is almost impossible to fix once too much conditioner has been added. The only real solution is to drain the pool. Putting too much conditioner in my pool was the final straw for me and I switched companies at that point. My entire pool turned green with algae. Wish I had gotten another company months before when I realized how bad Commercial Pool was but literally did not have time to deal with finding another company. At my expense, I had to drain my entire pool and do a chlorine wash to remove the algae that resulted from the excessive conditioner they added (see pic). Again, I warn anyone against using this company no matter how "nice" they may seem. read more

Zack is the best! I am so glad I found Commercial Pool & Spa. After calling around to a few other companies I got a hold of Zack. I explained to him my situation. He was straight forward and gave me some options as well as some recommendations. This was a rental for about 15 years and I decided to sell it after the last tenant moved out. The market is hot right now, so why not! I told Zack that I do a lot of work on my properties myself along with a small crew. Pools are not my area of expertise. I explained to Zack that after I painted with two part epoxy paint and primer that I wanted him to install a new pool light and to make sure that everything's safe and up to code before it was time to fill the pool. They installed a new pool light, replaced some electrical, installed new switches and explained to me about what was needed in order to get everything up to code and become VGB compliant. The cement work was very minimal and done in a very clean manner. The switches and new gang box area look fantastic. The items needed to become VGB compliant were taken care of and a few visits later all was done. His staff was timely and communication was great. Zack even answered his phone for me in the evening when I had a question that needed answering to. After my inspection and appraisal everything passed with flying colors! Everyone thought the pool looked great. I sold the house without even listing it and having an awesome looking pool was the icing on the cake. I would definitely recommend calling Zack for any service questions or needs. Wether big or small they seem to got it all covered. I highly recommend the company because they were straight forward, friendly, punctual and got the job done as promised. FYI... They carefully dug up the pavers, gravel, weed barrier and jack hammered a trench to install new return lines. 2 days later, the landscaping was put back perfectly, and the new equipment works great. He was very throughough and explained the process of putting in the new gas line and so we decided to add onto the project and add a new filter at the same time.
