My pool looks great, but then it did when they began. Very expensive and as others have noted not always the same pool person. One even sits outside for 5 to 10 minutes before coming in.... I only notice because I now have a camera to the front....but that is OK as long as the pool is serviced. hard to judge when you have been taking care of it for decades... but no longer can. read more

This pool service is a hoax! First of all, there is NO CONSISTENCY with who is going to service your pool. They advertise that this is a family-owned business, but the pool service technicians they send out can change on a weekly basis, and the technicians do not know your pool or your equipment. They must be subcontracting new people or hiring new people constantly with a high turnover. None of them are really knowledgeable. My pool was full of algae and nobody had told me. Secondly, Caleb acts very stuck up as if he doesn't need the customer, and is not genuine or kind. There is Zero customer service. Thirdly, their pool service is very expensive for absolutely no reason! You would think that you're getting superb service, but the opposite is true. There are many better pool service companies in the area, who actually appreciate you and are better and less expensive. Stay away! read more

I think so highly of them I've even referred them to friends who have started using them. But today they went above & beyond. This was for a rental home that we had and we relied on communication and honesty for pool service. Upon checking rental after years of service we found our pool in complete disarray. So this is really disappointing. I was a long time customer of LWPS. They were always more expensive than their competitors, but the service was good. However, every-time a service was recommended the quotes had no detail. I'd ask for a breakout of parts and labor and amount of time required for the service. I just ended my service with LWPS, because Caleb was very annoyed with me when I asked about the hourly rates for labor. My curiosity was promoted by two quotes for the same work that had different prices. Which of course led me to doing some research about the service. Like everyone I expect a mark up on the parts. I did not expect a double mark up and I expected a standard rate for labor. He said all the services were flat rate. I asked for the rate card. He couldn't provide either. Then I did some math, based on the hours of work vs the quote and After reviewing previous invoices, it turns out that the pool techs are charged at anywhere from $156/hr to $210/hr. That's almost much as my attorney. Either way we called it quits. I highly suggest shopping around for quotes before you engage with their service. read more

These guys have been our pool service company for several years now. They are the fifth pool company that I've had in as many years of having a pool. I have to say I literally never think about my pool anymore! They take care of every little detail. They show up exactly when they say they are going to show up. They run my pool equipment to ensure that it works. And then, to top it all off?! My painter was here on a Saturday and accidentally dropped a bucket of paint in my pool!!! When nothing but bad things happen to you and your first six months of being a widow you have to look for the good things, mine came in the form of Caleb Brown. Let me give you a little background: when the rain finally stopped I had to start putting water in my swimming pool! But every day for a week? My pool man J. said I had a leak! Just my luck! He called living water pool service in Lacanada and the owner Caleb Brown called me the same day! We made an appointment for his repair crew to come that week! The next day he called and asked me if I was going to be at home and could he come over and look at the pool equipment. That is when I met one of the nicest people ever! He even took the time to explain to me how the sonar worked! If it detected any leaks on the outside of the pool or if they didn't find anything they would put them on wetsuits and check the drains and lights in the pool and spa, so when they did they found not one but two leaks on the outside of the pool. Caleb called me right away to let me know that the main leak was in the skimmer and it had to be replaced. The second one was close to the pool equipment! Both required digging out the cement walkway and it was going to be expensive...It took the crew four days to repair plus before they even started all the plumbing to the equipment started pouring water out of it!!! So now they had to fix that too... when they were finished they gave me the bill and I noticed that the plumbing wasn't on it, they called the office and Caleb told them he wasn't charging me for it!!! This is the only way an 84-year-old can pay it forward, so please call Living water pool service and La Cañada, their kindness changed my life and now I know what my daughter meant when she said Caleb was paying it forward... We began using Living Water about 6 months ago. I was very impressed with them from the beginning and we remain very happy customers. My husband had been servicing our pool for the past 12 years. It was generally clean, but it was a daily pain, plus every now and then we would have algae problems - and he detested having to deal with that. But the biggest problem was that I couldn't swim in the pool. The chemicals were just too harsh and it really irritated my skin. I just figured I was hyper sensitive to chlorine. However, after only a few weeks of service from Caleb and Sami, I COULD SWIM IN MY OWN POOL AGAIN! They worked really hard at the outset to get the pool chemicals into balance. I have been extremely pleased with their attention to service. Caleb is great and Sami always comes with a smile on his face and is the sweetest gentleman! When we totaled the cost we were spending on chlorine and chemicals, it really was not that much more to have Living Water come and take care of everything. Now, my husband just scoops out the leaves once a day and our pool stays beautiful, clean and algae free. But the best part is that I can swim in it. We have had excellent service and excellent communication for our pool in Glendale. Questions are responded to within minutes. Billing is clear and electronic. My husband checks the chemical levels in the pool water before our little ones jump in and the chemical levels are good. We add a little chlorine into the pool half way through the week (Living Water provides the chemicals). read more

I'm not a huge Yelp reviewer but I felt compelled to write about these guys. I was renting a place in LA for two months not to long ago and these guys were awesome. When I first got to the place I was renting the pool was a mess; green water, 80s mechanical stuff all over the place, the patio was disgusting and covered with dirt and mold etc etc. So after calling the owners and complaining they had these guys come out to clean it up. When they were done it was a night and day difference. Clear water, patio was power washed and all the mechanical stuff was repaired. More importantly the guys that came out to do the work were very nice and professional. They didn't daudle and shockingly enough they were on time even with wild LA traffic. The whole process took these guys two visits but it was awesome to chill by the pool when they were done. If it was my pool area I would defiantly call theses guys. read more

We recently bought our first home and we were looking for a trustworthy and dependable pool service. My husband and I are often away on business trips which can make scheduling in general, very tricky. Caleb was so accomodating and professional during our first phone conversation. I don't like being surprised by extra fees on my bill. The last bill I received had an $85 fee for pool conditioning, on top of the $80 monthly pool service fee. I asked the pool guy two days later when he had conditioned my pool, and he said he had never conditioned it. NOT OK! Done with this pool service. Caleb is a fantastic business owner and here's why: his service guy screwed up. Our vinyl lining was compromised because of very high chlorine numbers over the past winter. We braced ourselves for a tough conversation with Caleb, one in which we hoped we wouldn't have to make demands and even get a little shouty. Caleb was understanding, immediately acknowledged the problem and responsibility for it -- then offered to pay to rectify the situation. Everyone screws up. Every business, every business owner, every employee. It happens. But few have the grace and integrity to own it. Caleb will always have our loyalty because we know, going forward, he will always deal with us with respect and accountability. I became particularly aware of how unique this trait is when we dealt with another company, Aqua Masters who were great on the front-end, i.e. the sale, but unfortunately lacking in follow through and courteousness. One week after the installation of a new pump, which was not installed entirely correctly, they threatened us with taking the outstanding bill to a collections agency. One week! Quite sure Caleb would never do the same, knowing that sort of unnecessary squeeze does not engender good feelings, let alone return customers. I am going to have to agree with the last review. I gave them three stars because they are very nice and will do a great job cleaning your pool. However they are expensive and do charge you for pool conditioning, filter cleaning, extra chemicals in the Summer...it just seems like a lot. They tack on these extra charges two months ahead of time because of their billing cycle...not sure why they don't charge the fees when they actually do the extra work. If you don't care about money then they are great. read more

After several attempts to get our regular pool service to fix our broken pool light, in desperation I turned to Living Water. Caleb and co. were able to diagnose the issue and replace the light and enclosure reasonably quickly and at an acceptable price. Their price for regular maintenance is quite a bit higher than our current service, but we may end up switching to them eventually because, as they say, "you get what you pay for." In any event, whether we switch to them in the future or not, I will definitely be seeking out their expertise for any future pool problems. read more
