When we bought our house three years ago, we knew the pool needed to be redone. Unfortunately, because of other major repairs, we had to wait. Our house was a flip, and whoever patched up the pool before us did a quick, cosmetic job that started falling apart within months. The plaster came off in sheets, the 1960s tile was covered in decades of calcium buildup, the coping was old red brick with mortar literally crumbling out, and some jets and plumbing didn't even work. The pool was technically swimmable, but it was depressing to look at. This summer our weekly pool cleaner told us the plaster was about to fail completely, so we started calling around for estimates. Most of the big corporate companies gave us inflated quotes and made us feel like just another job number. A trusted friend recommended Oscar's, so we checked Yelp, saw all the great reviews, and gave him a call. Oscar came out immediately, took careful measurements, walked us through every detail, and his knowledge and professionalism instantly won our trust. From there, the process moved quickly. Within a week of signing, his crew demoed the entire pool in just a few hours. We got to choose tile from several suppliers and ended up with a beautiful pebble mosaic that matched our house. At first, we thought we'd keep the old red brick coping, but at the last minute we switched to a modern dark gray brick. Best decision ever! It completely transformed the look of our backyard. As often happens with older homes, surprises came up: our original 1964 gas and electrical lines were corroded and had to be replaced. Oscar handled everything--brought in trusted contractors, coordinated the work, and saved us the headache of dealing with multiple companies. While we were at it, we upgraded our equipment to a top-of-the-line Jandy system with Wi-Fi controls, plus added a heater and automatic pool filler. Yes, the budget went up, but every upgrade was worth it. Watching the transformation was amazing. Once the new tile, coping, and plaster went in, it felt like we had a brand-new pool built from scratch. The white plaster makes the water sparkle, the equipment runs quietly and efficiently, and with the heater and lights, we can swim comfortably day or night, year-round. Beyond the work itself, what made the experience so special was Oscar and his family. He's personable, honest, hardworking, and clearly cares about his craft. His crew was professional, respectful, and fast. By the end, it felt like we weren't just hiring a contractor--we were working with people who truly cared about making our home better. Now every time we step into our backyard, we can't believe the difference. What was once an eyesore is now the centerpiece of our home, and we're enjoying it constantly. Him and I had a good working relationship. I can't say the same about my new tech as he doesn't speak english and the new manager won't facilitate a way for us to communicate. It was just discovered that my conditioner was at zero, so chlorine wasn't sticking around. Compound that issue with some other ones, such as rain, and it's a recipe for a perfect storm. I'm generally pretty laid back, but I expect good communication. What happened next is what let me know I was ready to move on. Things go wrong. It happens and I'm usually very understanding, but the new owner/manager refused to give me a phone call so we can remedy the situation. She then sends me a wall of text. I ask her to call me again and she sends me an even bigger wall of text. I felt like I was in a fight with my highschool girlfriend. The kicker is that she is blatantly incompetent. It wouldn't even be that bad, but she is also incredibly unreasonable. I know she has a lot going on in life right now as other reviewers have mentioned, but not taking ownership of a problem, trying to gatekeep communication, and treating customers this way is obviously not the right way to run a business.

A pool isn't just water and a pump--it involves electricity, gas, and chemicals, and if something is done incorrectly, the risks can be serious, especially with kids in the home. That became very clear to me this summer. After picking up on a few too many red flags with our previous pool guy, I went looking for someone who actually knew what they were doing. That's how I found Michael. He called me back right away and came out quickly. Within minutes of inspecting the equipment, he found multiple issues--including one major electrical safety problem that could have seriously harmed my kids. No one had ever caught it before. Since then, I've had several other licensed specialists out (leak detection, electricians, etc.), and every single one of them confirmed what Michael found. Beyond the technical side, he's exactly the kind of person you want working on something as important as a pool: consistent, knowledgeable, and a great communicator. He shows up when he says he will and explains everything in a way that actually makes sense. Finding someone competent shouldn't be this hard, but I'm glad we eventually crossed paths with Michael. They promised to come, they promised to fix it, they promised proof of service -- every single time it was "I'll send it, I'll send it." Nothing ever came. Because they never actually did the work. I took down my last negative review because they promised everything would be fixed on Friday. Friday came. No one showed up. Again. I'm done. I'm moving to another company because my pool is destroyed and I can't keep giving chances to people who only know how to lie. This review stays up. I don't care what they promise this time . I've heard every version of it already. Please do not trust this company. Stay far away if you care about your pool. UPDATE in response to the company's reply: The company claims their team came out yesterday. They did not. I was home all day, and I have security camera footage that confirms no one came to my property ，yesterday or any other day. They are now using one lie to cover another. They claim they serviced the fountain "as a courtesy" yesterday. No one was here. They claim it takes 24-48 hours for water to clear. That would be relevant if anyone had actually shown up to treat it. They also say the fountain wasn't part of my agreement. Forget the fountain for a moment！ look at the POOL. My pool is half green. The pool IS in my agreement, and it looks worse than I did a month ago when I signed up. In one full month of "service," I have: * Never received a single service report, despite asking for proof basically every day * Never received before/after photos or any documentation * Watched my pool turn completely green And now they want to be paid for a month of service that never happened, and they're framing my refusal to pay as "unfair." What's unfair is being charged for work that wasn't done and being lied to repeatedly when I asked for proof. Please stay away from this company.Green pools don't lie. The absence of any report or photo in a full month doesn't lie. They say the fountain (small pool) wasn't in my agreement. And here's the part that shows they either don't understand pools or are pretending not to: ALL THE WATER ON THIS PROPERTY IS INTERCONNECTED. It flows between the pool and the fountain. If one section turns green, the whole system turns green. You cannot "service the big pool" while ignoring a green fountain feeding into the same water . that's not how pools work. Here's the part that should concern any potential customer: they sent me a photo of the small pool just now completely green and said NOTHING. No "hey, this looks bad, do you want us to add it to your service?" . They just let it sit and turn green for a month. That's not a service issue , that's a character issue. A responsible company would tell the owner: "This isn't part of your current plan, but it's deteriorating fast, would you like us to take care of it?" Instead, they watched it get destroyed and said nothing until I brought it up. And the reason I didn't notice it because they never sent me any picture the entire month until I complain right now. So if they have sent a picture of how green and how much it was destroyed earlier, I would have noticed it and asked them to take care of it as well. Now this damage is irreversible. And then there's the big pool which IS in my agreement and is also half green after a full month of service because they completely ignore the fountain that share the same water with the pool. It actually was the same person who had installed the heater for me. He asked me what was happening or not happening, and I told him. He diagnosed the issue after about 15 minutes of looking into it. He told me what was wrong and gave me an estimate. It was a great experience. The service man, Zack, was personable and very helpful. I was very pleased with the service I got from them when I purchased the system a few years back, and I was just as pleased today. I recommend them highly. I will happily use them again for pool servicing needs.

I would leave a 6 star review for Anthony Sena Leak Detection if 6 stars were available…read more Anthony Sena was second leak detection company I called about the leak in my swimming pool. The first company who I wont name here, charged $575 and was terrible. The person who showed up did a bare minimum of work using only a little dye syringe. I wont go into a lot of detail, but he didnt do much of anything other than use a small mirror and a dye syringe. He actually gave me a $2400 quote to open up my pool deck where he thought the leak might be, which later turned out to be the opposite end of the pool from where the leak actually was. I called Anthony, and despite being quite a distance he immediately gave me advice on how to perform a simple bucket test to determine if the water loss in my pool was definitely a leak and not just due to evaporation. After performing the bucket test to to determine it was definitely a leak, we agreed on a price to come down from his area in the San Fernando Valley, to my home in North Orange County. He made it clear he would have to charge extra because of the distance and I agreed as the extra amount wasn't unreasonable considering the amount of travel time between our locations. Anthony spent over 4 hours checking my pool. He did a visual inspection around the edges checking for any cracks, but then the real work began. He brought in several trays of different kinds of plugs and valves, and gauges to check the various piping systems. He explained that he would first pressure check the different piping systems, then if that didnt reveal the leak, he would go into the pool to check the lights and bottom drain for possible leaks, as well as look for other cracks in the pool itself. He disassembled the valves at the equipment area and inserted inflatable plugs that could be connected to a nitrogen tank and a pressure gauge. He inserted inflatable plugs in the jets (returns) and performed a pressure check on that entire system. He also pressure checked the Polaris pool cleaner line and the inlet fill line. Last, he thoroughly checked the skimmer unit and by using a small mirror on a long extension was able to find a crack where the skimmer connects to the line. He then did a pressure check on the skimmer line itself and verified that the crack was open to the surrounding soil. Anthony spent a lot of time explaining exactly what he was doing and why, and at the end we were both confident that he had found the leak. I now knew that my skimmer would need to be replaced instead of opening up the deck somewhere else looking for a leak that wasn't there. So, bottom line, the little bit of extra money I spent with Anthony was well worth it as I am completely confident he found the only leak. I would have liked to use Anthony to do the repair, but unfortunately the distance between our locations doesn't make that practical. But I highly recommend Anthony for his honesty, knowledge and professionalism.

We contacted Anthony, and he quickly made time to come out. From the start, it was clear we were working with someone who truly knows pools. He was professional, methodical, and incredibly thorough. He first found a leaking copper pool fill line, but what impressed us most was that he didn't stop there. He continued inspecting the entire system and discovered a much more significant leak at the old copper skimmer that could have easily been missed. Anthony repaired everything properly, replacing the skimmer, equalizer line, pool suction line, return line, replumbing the system, installing a new backwash valve, and even securing our loose pool ladder with new anchors. His attention to detail, honesty, and workmanship are exceptional. It's rare to find someone who cares this much about doing the job right instead of just getting the job done. Nice try! We're not that stupid. This response is obviously fake in an effort to save face. You're literally replying from Arman D.'s profile. "Alex" who we worked with IS Armon Dilanchyan. I made sure to get his full legal name when we hired him. "Alex" is his American name that he goes by with his non-Armenian customers. I have this all in writing from him. This is his company. He is the only technician. This is obviously him responding with a fake photo. Arman/Alex is the only person who has serviced anybody from this company, we obviously know him well. He worked for us for six months and we saw him every single time, we knew about his wife and kids, and that he owns the company. You didn't part ways with him...YOU ARE HIM. Don't anyone trust this company! Response update to your latest response; So you said you fired Alex but now you're saying that he didn't break anything and you stand by him? Which is it? I want to express how very satisfied we are with our new pool that Premier Pools built for us. It truly is a beautiful addition to our property and is a joy to look at. The pool has totally changed the feeling we have when we open our windows and see our tropical paradise in our own backyard. The quality of construction that Premier uses in the building of their pools is the MAIN reason we went with this company. As with any construction project there were a few problems along the way, but they handled them in a very professional way and went the EXTRA mile to make sure that we were satisfied. Our pool had cracked and it was sitting empty for a while. It seemed we could not find the right team to address the issue and fix it properly. Others would say that it is a surface issue and we will re-plaster it. I have been using Platinum Pools & Spa's services for my personal residential property, as well as my rental properties for more than a year, and I am extremely happy and pleased with their service. Arman is absolutely amazing. He was able to come within a few days and is very knowledgeable about Hot Tubs. I have a group spa that was purchased in late November and it was not hot at all. The water was cold. Arman was able to come and check it out and fix it on the spot in about 45 minutes. He also cleaned the Hot Tub with a hose, checked chlorine levels, scrubbed the insides, and said the water would be hot in 24 hours. I checked the temperature 18 hours later and it was already hot at 104 degrees. read more

One of my favorite things about their service is the email update we receive after each visit. It includes a photo of our sparkling clean pool, the current pH levels, and even confirmation that our gates were closed and locked. That kind of attention to detail and communication gives us tremendous peace of mind. They were an absolute godsend after dealing with consistently poor service from our previous pool vendors. Even better, The Lazy Pool is actually cheaper while providing dramatically better service! They've also done excellent work servicing our pool system and filter whenever needed. I really can't recommend The Lazy Pool highly enough. Great service, great communication, fair pricing, and people you can trust. Five stars all the way!

This company is the best, I'm extremely happy with my pool service company. Their service is excellent, they're always respectful, and they show up on time every single week. Their pricing is the best I've found--especially impressive because I have a saltwater pool, which is usually more expensive to maintain. They keep everything running smoothly and looking great. Not to mention very informative I received photos of my pool when it's serviced and notifications when they will be cleaning the filters and the salt cell. Highly recommend!

However they'd only gotten some of it - not all. We were very frustrated so I called Eric Perez. Eric came out and proposed a resolution asap. They treated the water, then scrubbed all walls repeatedly over several days then tested water. Problem was fully resolved in about two weeks. Additionally, Eric helped to troubleshoot a pool lighting issue to make all lights work effectively, re-piped pump-to-heater for more efficient flow, and fixed a leaky seal. We were impressed with how quickly he diagnosed all issues of concern and then got them corrected in a timely manner. We had to go through two other so called "pool experts" and ridiculously inaccurate quotations before identifying that Eric was best for the job. Now Eric Perez handles all of our pool services. *** I definitely recommend Perez Pool & Spa. ***

Billy talked to me in a very condescending way over the phone on 3 separate occasions over the 6…read moremonth period we used his setvice. The 3rd time I was asking questions about white streaks across the bottom of my pool. He said, and I quote, "I know exactly what kind of customer you are!" I said, plesse tell me, what kind of customer am I? He said the kind that complains about ecery little thing. I said "Billy, i have not complained once on this phone call. i have asked you questions about the bottom of our pool." I asked questions because we just spent $30,000 to have our pool resurfaced and there were no white streaks on the bottom of our pool when we hired Billy. We also asked questions once when our jacuzzi was not heating up and he spoke to my wife and I like we hadn't ever used our jacuzzi. He said the pool water was too high and cold water from the pool was keeping the jacuzzi cold. Ummmmmm, nope, we have kept our pool level the same for 15 years, and it has worked. But, no, Billy refused to even entertain our problem. I refuse to support a business that does not listen to customers. You should hire anyone but Authentic pool & spa. If you do, you will regret it, unless you are a man.
