I've had Michael with Pool SOULution inspect all my clients/buyers pools before buying their homes. He shows up on time, does an extremely thorough inspection, answers all my clients questions and helps me handle my request for repairs if there are any when asking for either a credit or the seller repair. He's fair and trustworthy. I'd hire him with no hesitation. Thank you Michael, great family man, too! read more

MIKE came through today. I was coming out of work and I noticed a guy at the round about in front of the ER. I asked him if he was a poolman? He said, " yes and how can I help you?" I explained that my pool man hasn't been coming by and I was in the process of shocking my pool. I was hoping my pool will be ready before this weekend. I'm throwing my youngest son a birthday pool party Saturday. Without hesitation he said "shoot me your address and I'll come by to take a look." (Eventhough it was his day off) Not only is he knowledgeable about the pool but you can tell he's kind, humble, honest and a great teacher. He took his time to go over what's the next steps to getting the pool ready for Saturday/ready for summer. He taught me about the air bleed sock for DE filters and manifold. He even gave me a FREE O ring for manifold. Thank you for your help today. I greatly appreciate you. I highly recommend Mike as your next pool guy. read more

I didn't realize how many unqualified people are out there working on pools until I ran into several problems with ours. A pool isn't just water and a pump--it involves electricity, gas, and chemicals, and if something is done incorrectly, the risks can be serious, especially with kids in the home. That became very clear to me this summer. After picking up on a few too many red flags with our previous pool guy, I went looking for someone who actually knew what they were doing. That's how I found Michael. He called me back right away and came out quickly. Within minutes of inspecting the equipment, he found multiple issues--including one major electrical safety problem that could have seriously harmed my kids. No one had ever caught it before. Since then, I've had several other licensed specialists out (leak detection, electricians, etc.), and every single one of them confirmed what Michael found. Beyond the technical side, he's exactly the kind of person you want working on something as important as a pool: consistent, knowledgeable, and a great communicator. He shows up when he says he will and explains everything in a way that actually makes sense. Finding someone competent shouldn't be this hard, but I'm glad we eventually crossed paths with Michael. I highly recommend Pool SOULution and Michael Meadows. read more

We used to have a dirt side yard with a tired 8' wooden gate. For a few years we've wanted to upgrade to a 4' block wall with a 4' metal gate. Mike pointed out our AC electrical would need to be buried. When he was done, our AC wire that turned on the AC? Idk if I'm saying that right, is now inside a waterproof box, no more loose wires and everything is underground. Our AC guy who's my friend came out and complimented the work done by Mike. A week after the cement was done Mike came and ran the hose on the edges to show us the water will divert down the middle of the cement, I guess that's good. We're very happy with everything. Thank you Mike! read more

Mike is a fantastic professional! He answered my call on Labor Day Weekend and came as soon as he was available a couple of days later. He diagnosed the problem immediately (broken pool heater actuator sending water to solar cells) and replaced it that very day for a very reasonable price. He rewired everything neatly and it's been working perfectly ever since. Honest, timely, and reasonably priced -- how often do you get that? He has earned a loyal customer for life! read more

Top-notch service! My condo complex was looking for a new pool service and I'm so glad Pool Soulution popped up in the search. Upon meeting the co-owner, Michael, I was impressed by how knowledgeable he seemed to be in properly treating and maintaining pools, as well as diagnosing why our hot tub jets never worked well. He put his money where his mouth is -- fixed the hot tub issue and the pools look amazing! For real, this company gets an A+. read more

This review is a long time coming, so bear with me. TL;DR: Long term customer for service and repairs. Mike is the BEST -- have a pool? You need Mike. It all started with a busted pool heater. An older system needed some repairs and upkeep and our previous service was slacking a bit. We called around and got the best price from Pool SOULution. Enter Mike, an honest, hard-worker, with a myriad of knowledge on the inner-workings of our system-- more than us! He taught me how to use the existing panels even though he never installed /managed it. That was almost a decade ago. Now, we have an upgraded, sophisticated system using the iaqualink app. We know we have a trusted advisor in our back pocket who we can tap for all our pool needs, large and small. Most recently, we wanted to install a water slide. Mike made it happen SO quickly, SO efficiently, and UNDER BUDGET. The slide install included running the piping and wiring the valve through our automation system so we can turn the slide on/off through the app. Say what!? Absolutely. This years' pool party will be the best yet! read more

This review is long overdue! Michael, the owner of this fabulous pool service, is excellent and so knowledgeable. He is the "pool whisperer." I chose him because of all the other great reviews and I was so glad that I did. He has a full clientele, but makes you know that when he is servicing your project that you are number one. His ideas on how I could add value to my pool and make my yard more aesthetically pleasing by moving the pool equipment behind a wall were brilliant. He gave me three options according so that I could stay within my budget. I definitely got high value for every dollar I spent. Pool Soulution had my so-so pool looking like a gemstone and my backyard greatly enhanced. Algae gone, sparkling water with changing color pool lights, heated, and no cluttered pool machines creating an eyesore. We have had our best summer yet enjoying the backyard. I told him to put me on his waiting-list for my regular pool services, but still I am a little outside his route. He is an expert in all things pool. I highly recommend. read more

Very friendly and knowledgeable. Helped me out alot and I'd recommend to anybody. Thank you.

Mike at Pool SOULution just completed my Raypak Heat pump and Pentair pool pump install, and the installation couldn't have gone better. He surveyed the job and was prepared for all contingencies. The piping was well thought out and done very cleanly, minimizing flow restrictions and other issues, clean cuts and no glue mess. He had no issues integrating the operation and controls of pool, spa, and existing thermal heating with the new equipment. He connected and programmed the integration of the heater, pump, and thermal heating using the included Raypak controls and app, eliminating additional automation costs. He demonstrated the app and controls for both units, insuring I could modify the schedule in the future. Mike is very knowledgeable about all aspects of pool equipment installation and operation, and I would highly recommend him and Pool SOUlution for any pool installation or service. Definitely 5 stars. read more

My brother, who is a pool builder in San Diego, recommended Mike to install our new pool equipment in Los Angeles. Because the job had urgency, Mike spent a whole Saturday doing the install, which we appreciated. We thought he was honest, hard working, very knowledgeable, and, most importantly, we felt good that he had installed the same Pentair equipment in dozens of pools before us. Very happy with the job! read more

Michael was incredible. He was always on time, quick to respond, and did an amazing job installing our brand-new pool heater. We have had trouble with our pool heater servicing in the past and we were skeptical about which brand to go with. I talked with Mike on multiple occasions, sharing my research on the best ones. He made me feel comfortable with my choice and helped me choose the perfect heater for my specific pool. I will be using him for all my pool needs from now on. Very personable and charged me a price I couldn't refuse. Highly recommend! read more

I feel compelled to write this review. I needed help with my pool. It was a disaster after a tree was cut down at my neighbors house. I mean DISASTER. The pool was full of wood chips, dust, debris, leaves and branches from a eucalyptus tree which made my pool a 20,000 gallon tea pot of green mess within hours. I called 15 pool guys on a Saturday evening. Mike was one of the few that was there to help. He came out first thing on a Sunday morning. It was, literally, like magic to see the pool transform from the teapot that it was -- to actual water again. When I thought he was done, he was "far from it" he said. Why? Because he made sure that every inch of our pool was spotless, clean and problem free. And that's exactly what he did. It was BEYOND expectations on all levels. The attached photos are a true testament to the service level and standard given. That said, this company earned my 5 stars and then some. Thanks again. read more

We moved into our house last June and it has been an uphill battle with the pool as we have never owned one before. It was a never ending battle with chemicals and algae. I wish we had been able to take to Michael at the beginning of this journey and had our pool acid washed then. It was a three day endeavor and our pool is sparkling clean. I look forward to enjoying my clean pool all summer and I now have a better understanding of how the equipment works. He could probably teach a course to new pool owners! Mike is one of the kindest most genuine, honest people I have had the pleasure of meeting. He's treated everyone with nothing but respect. He was a referral from one of my best friends from high school who has had Mike as a technician for a long time now. He was even magnanimous enough to not only offer my brother a job knowing he didn't have transportation and came and got him everyday for work , and cared enough that when my brother,a diabetic had pump issues and foolishly was going to try to work through, Mike drove him from canyon country all the way across town back home in Castaic to make sure he didn't have any issues with his health. Mike is a wonderful person and great technician, he is precise and cares about getting the job done right. He is knowledgeable and does the work himself when I needed a new heater and variable speed pump he himself came out and did the job making sure everything worked properly. read more

What can I say about Mike... Mike, first of all, is top-notch. I had a huge nightmare for many months, and Mike, with his utmost positive attitude, just kept telling me, "don't worry"! "We got this." Mike ended up turning my nightmare into a dream. He had the right crew, which all worked as a team to make it happen for me, every road I went down ended up a disaster. I did not see the light at the end of a very dark tunnel. Today, I am enjoying my Spool, and I never thought I would, and it is all because of Mike. We switched to Mike for our pool service ~ 5 years ago. Our pool is always looking great and he goes the extra mile to keep it maintained. More recently we had Mike install a completely new pool system. He installed a new gas heater and pool/spa pumps. He also completely redid the electrical and install a new electrical panel. We now have an efficient, modern pool system that is completely automated and can be controlled from you phone. During the install Mike was as professional, clean and timely as ever. He installed the new equipment quickly and took care of the smallest details. Mike and the Cleaner Pool team are a great local business and I would highly recommend for all your pool install, service and maintenance needs. read more

Mike even went above and beyond and hooked up cafe style LED string lights around my pool (also controlled by my phone app). Michael was so thorough and explained everything to me. I felt very informed and trusted him. In my eyes the pool was ruined by all the ash from the sand fire. And my hard working husband was returning from a business trip and was going to use all his days off tackling this dirty ashy green pool. So I decided to surprise him and get it done. And Michael worked his magic and got it crystal clean and ready to enjoy before my husband got home !!!! Super impressed by his workmanship and overall happy character. Also. So My Polaris pool sweep stopped working. It turned into a four day quest for me to trouble shoot the problem. I overhauled the Polaris, changed seals, bearings and gaskets. I thought I covered everything. Nothing worked, so I called A Cleaner Pool and within minutes, Mike called me back. Not only was I impressed with the quick call back, but Mike took the time to listen to everything I said and truly seemed interested in customer care and service. I made an appointment to have him come out and take a look at the problem. Before the appointment, I was able to try a couple of things and I eventually got the Polaris running. Honest feedback, Mike is unprofessional and does not follow up with his promises. It took him 6 months to send me the first bill for some filters, draining the pool and cleaning services. i asked for the bill every time i saw his employees who are great but work for a very unprofessional owner. He broke my drain cover and the last straw was when an emergency occurred but never notified us the pool won't be cleaned when we had plans for the weekend. The least you can do is bill timely, accurately and communicate with your customers if something is going to happen unexpectedly. Be aware, Mike will try to charge hidden fees/over charge for simple parts and bill for cleaning that never happened. read more

Normally, I acted as my own pool man and was reluctant to hire assistance to help with my pool. Unfortunately, other priorities in life occurred and I let my pool turn green. We had looked for other pool services and was disappointed in their quotes and recommended treatment. One service even said we had to drain the pool completely and pressure wash the plaster for $1200! I was about to give up on getting help and do it myself, when we found Mike. Both Mike and Phil were great! Mike was very responsive and we updated him daily with the progress. He worked with us to get our pool back and ready for use. He made recommendations to help us with long-term maintenance that were cost-effective. If I ever needed help again, I would call Mike. read more

I am a damage restoration contractor working in Malibu helping people get their homes and lives back in order after the devastating fires that tore through the area. I've worked with a few pool services over the years and have to say A Cleaner Pool is on its own level. The quality of work is top notch, the expertise is elite, and yet the pricing remains extremely competitive. My particular pool system had massive issues from before I hired A Cleaner Pool. They methodically worked through the issues and solved each one without breaking a sweat. They always have my best interest in mind as they seek cost effective solutions such as energy efficient quality components that pay for themselves over time. I'm not the easiest customer as I have a lot of ideas for how to turn my pool into a mini paradise. A Cleaner Pool was able to understand my requirements, offer me solutions that were well beyond what I could have expected, and then delivered on the vision with expert quality installs. Don't even bother looking for any more pool service company.. because there is no better company out there. I'm a contractor who hates working with contractors for probably the same reasons most of you do... this company is by far the leader in its industry. While the other guys are busy being busy Mike is extremely easy to get in touch with. He's literally one phone call and a few hours away from showing up to your job or in your cases, your home. As a contractor I need to know that the guys we use are the best at what they do. The guys we choose must reflect positively on us as contractors in charge and as a result, we only choose those who reflect perfection. Mike cares about his trade and is truly passionate what he does. I also noticed that the equipment and parts he uses are also top notch. For example.. they use sweeping 90 degree pipes on their turns.. What's that? Exactly. It's a part that you'd never know if it was or was not installed. It costs a few bucks more but makes all the difference in the world with the pools circulating system and they know this. Looking for real old fashioned customer service? Try these guys.
