After coming across a few problems (broken filter after cleaning, trash etc) with their service, I got suspicious, did some research and conducted my own chemical test. Sure enough, some of the values where off. What is astonishing, is that I had approached them with the issue to give them a chance to do the job right. A few months later there where signs of Algae, and I was told this is normal at this time of the year and a special treatment is necessary that would cost me hundreds of dollars. The straight up lies and being treated like an idiot are unbelievable. If your chemistry is done right, there will never be an algae build up and no special treatment is necessary. I recently had some issues with our pool equipment and called Loyal pool service, Ben came out the next day to assess our pool equipment. He was professional, knowledgeable, and articulate. I immediately felt that we were in good hands. Ben adjusted all our settings to make sure we're set for the summer swim season, advised on some cartridges that I needed to replace (which he didn't try to upsell me), turned on our ozone which had been inexplicably turned off, and cleaned all our filters which were absolutely filthy. He worked hard for a couple of hours doing all this, and he showed me a few things so I could take better care of our pool myself. By the way, my pool cleaner had told me I needed our 6-month old filters REPLACED for upwards of $800. We have used Loyal pool service a couple of times now for tile cleaning and acid wash. We recently used them for some equipment replacement to include the main pool light and the heater for the spa and pool. We did have some issues with the heater replacement, and although there was some frustration with the issue, Ben at Loyal pool service was very communicative and was helpful with getting the issues resolved. I have worked with other pool service companies that were hard to reach if you had an issue with the work. I had no issue at all with reaching someone at the company. At the end of the day, I felt that their prices are competitive and their work is of a professional caliber. I also realize there will be issues when servicing pool equipment. Loyal pool service transformed my average pool into a showstopper. Service was incredibly, we threw them a curveball and chose a complicated tile pattern and made them custom order... They came out when it arrived and started laying it out by hand. Schedule was spot on for how you should renovate a pool and replaster. The critical step for a replaster is the first two weeks and they were all over it brushing, balancing and giving updates. Service and quality was the same on hardscape and site renovation, custom cut drain tiles, skimmer lids and took it all on perfectly. We decided to get our pool renovated. We had some serious drainage problems in the backyard where the water would come all the way up to the house when it would rain. So the renovation had to include some major reworking of the drainage. we took several bids and went with this company. They got the work started quickly and efficiently.That had to replace a huge section of concrete, had to repair and redo all the decking and they had to repair and redo all of the pool including a leak in one of the skimmer areas.Ben helped us pick the tile for the pool and helped us pick the color for the decking coating. They also had to remove the fence around the pool and reinstall it where we wanted it. I feel like the supervisor, Ben was a great example of everything you would want of someone working on a project for you as he was attentive efficient timely respectful and courteous. But most of all he was just good at his job and made sure it was done right. The backyard drains beautifully and looks so much more open peaceful and fresh and bright. Due to California's water drought, I hadn't drained my pool in over 15 years. So, since the last two years of above average rainfall. I finally decided it would be time to drain my pool and have it acid washed. I googled acid wash and chose Loyal Pool Service. When I spoke with Ben and told him I was interested in having my pool drained and acid washed. Since I have Pebble Tec, I asked Ben if it would be safe. He said it was Ok but that it was probably better to just have a pressure wash. Which made sense as it is cheaper and not really necessary. At least as far as my pool goes. So that was a plus for Loyal Pool Service providing me with a better and more affordable solution! They came by a few days later and began draining my pool through my clear out. It took six days to drain my pool as opposed to 2 plus days the last time I drained due to very pool water pressure in my backyard. Once the pool was drained, they told me that my pool filters needed replacing, which they did. So, they replaced my old filters and added whatever chemicals that were needed to balance the pools PH levels. They followed up a few days later to complete the process. For me it was a job well done. I gave Loyal Pool Service a 5-star review because there wasn't a four and a half star. to choose. Though not perfect I was pleased with Loyal Pool Service from start to finish. They were friendly and very customer friendly. Normally, I do not like writing Yelp reviews. I had my pool repainted and re caulked, plus replaced the pool light with an LED color changing model, by Loyal pool service. They did an extraordinary job of preparing the surface for painting by sanding and grinding the entire concrete pool, plus preparing the walls to be painted for the first time ever. I was astounded by the level of effort that went into the surface preparation. After that was done, they recaulked the entire pool, which had been leaking at a substantial rate. They then applied three coats of epoxy based paint. The results were extraordinary - the best the pool has ever looked. Including when it was installed. Ben had come out by invitation for an estimate for a crack in my pool on the wall near the stairs. He spent an hour measuring and explaining the process and the steps if the crack was structural or just a shell crack,Talked with him after to reiterate what and how things would be happening. I gladly signed a contract. All of his workers are in house employees, Ben took lead to the operation to empty my pool, tear out the old pebble tech, repair the crack, reinstall all new pebble tech and refilling of the pool, the clean up, the reset up, replace baskets, overflow flap, check all running parts, reset the chemicals, and the startup. This company has a greatest program called dispatch, it announces by e-mail and also by text who and when a technician will arrive to do the work. Greg came in and fixed the leaking from the filter and was very professional. He explained what was wrong with it and how to keep it maintained. I didn't have any problems with it after he was done. Loyal pool Service does such a great job on their weekly service that I do not even consider doing it myself. They show up every single week on the same day and about the same time. Knowing exactly when people will be in your backyard is such a simple thing that makes a huge impact. They take time to keep all my equipment in tip top shape with preventive maintenance checks and special inspections on things like the controllers/auto valves/heater/air pump/etc. My pool and associated equipment was essentially 100% unmaintained for a decade before I bought my house, and unsurprisingly a lot of the equipment was barely hanging on with parts breaking on the regular. Ben was also quick to identified issues and his fixes are super fast and professional. Prices are fair, but what I should expect, The "pool tax" certainly hurts, but I feel good knowing I have experts taking care of it now. read more

We made the mistake of using the wrong company for the first few fixes - their lack of experience cost us a lot of money. When we decided to upgrade our pool heater this spring, we knew we needed a reputable company. Called Loyal Pool and they came out the next day to assess our system. They were informative and even helped me figure out our pool lights which we assumed were broken but we just didn't know how to turn them on. Their quote was a little higher than another quote but they were able to work with us and get us exactly what we needed in a reasonable timeframe. Loyal Pool Service was hired through my home warranty company (Choice Home Warranty) on 8-23-2022 to repair my pool heater. On the day the technician came (8-26-2022) he demanded extra payment for the diagnosis service when I already made the payment to the home warranty company. He got very upset and made threat when I told him he needed to discuss that with the home warranty company instead of me. This is the first sign the company integrity and reputation is questionable. I reached out to my home warranty company and they called Loyal directly and ironed this out. The technician came again on 9-2-2022 to replace some sensors and while he did that he destroyed the circuit board (the circuit board was working when he came on 8-26-2022) and claimed that the electricity circuit of my house destroyed it. He then submitted authorization request to repair the circuit board and personally I don't know if he is trying to take advantage of the situation and make more money. Then on 9-13-2022 another technician came and replaced the circuit board but the pool heater still did not work and the owner called and told me he gave up and abandoned the job. Completely abandoned and walked away. My home warranty company had to reassign this but for some reason Loyal Pool Service claimed the work order again on 10-13-2022 and set the appointment for 10-18-2022. They then abandoned the job again on 10-17-2022 just to mess up this order again. What they did was unethical and possibly illegal. Do yourselves a favor - do you really want to give your money and hire company like this who would abandon your job and even mess with you? You work hard for your money and there are plenty of pool servicing companies around so go with the ones that have flawless records instead of Loyal (or you will regret it!). I have proceeded with filing complaints with the Attorney General office and will continue doing that with Department of Consumers. They will be investigated for their behavior. Stay away from them. I called Ben on a Thursday and scheduled for Friday morning for a free estimate On my broken spa. He came out Friday morning, was on time which is a great plus! He took a look under my spa and realized it was just a breaker fuse that was switched off. Then the pool was back up and running!! He didn't charge me being true to the free estimate. My spa/pool heater stopped working. Ben and Greg said maybe the heater needed cleaning (it was about 3 yrs old and evidently should be cleaned every 2 years); if the problem wasn't that it would be most likely the ignitor and they would bring one with them. Normally the service charge would be $150 but said they'd charge me $190 and would include the cleaning which sounded okay. Unfortunately the cleaning did not fix the problem (it wasn't even that dirty inside) and they installed the new ignitor but that still didn't fix the problem. They said it also needed a new Gas Valve. They weren't sure if it was in stock or how long it might take to get it since there may be a supply chain problem. Said they'd bill me for this service and call me about the other part but would need to charge me an additional $150 to come back and put in the other part. Before he told me what the amount would be for this service call, he said he'd have to check the price of the ignitor part - I asked them if they made a profit ($$) on the parts and they ASSURED me that their only income was based on the service provided alone. (please note I would not have objected to a 10% or so add on to the actual part cost). I was shocked that they CHARGED ME $140 for the very simple part. My bill came to $343.29 total. I had them leave me the box and old part and looked up the sku # on the internet. The retail cost of the part was $48 -- and I bet they got it at a wholesale price. The price they charged me was almost 3 times the retail cost!!! To add to that insult, they never called me back (it is 3 weeks later) on the Gas Valve part I needed and I still don't have a working spa/pool heater! So my assessment of them is they may know what they are doing but their aim is to make as much money off you as quickly as possible and move on to the next customer and they are making plenty of $$ on the parts.
