DO NOT USE APTIVE! We used Aptive in 2023-2024, and our experience was extremely disappointing. On two occasions, technicians showed up, spent about five minutes standing in our backyard on their phones, and then left without providing any meaningful service. Fast-forward to tonight: a sales representative came to our home trying to win our business back. When we politely declined, the representative became extremely rude. PLEASE THINK TWICE BEFORE TRUSTING APTIVE ENVIRONMENTAL WITH YOUR HOME, PETS, OR FAMILY I am sharing this review because our family has now been dealing with an unresolved situation involving Aptive Environmental for over a month, and despite providing documentation, time-stamped security footage, shelter fees, veterinary bills, and repeatedly following up, we still have no final resolution. Thankfully, our dog Lulu is safe and back home with us. But what happened to get her home was completely unacceptable and something I never want another family to experience. During an Aptive service visit, their employees accessed our property. We were reassured that everything had been locked up and secured after the service. We trusted that reassurance. Unfortunately, our dog was later able to get out through the same area that had been accessed. This happened during extreme heat. We had intentionally been keeping Lulu inside because of the temperatures. We only let her outside briefly to use the bathroom and stretch her legs because we were trying to keep her safe from the heat. Instead, she got out and went missing. Lulu eventually ended up at the local animal shelter/pound, and we had to go through the terrifying experience of trying to locate and recover our family pet. Thankfully, we found her. She is safe. But the situation also resulted in additional veterinary concerns and expenses, particularly because Lulu already has ongoing allergy and ear/skin issues that require care. I have provided Aptive with the documentation supporting what happened, including: * Time-stamped security camera footage * Animal shelter/pound documentation and fees * Veterinary bills and medical expenses * Documentation regarding the circumstances surrounding the incident I have cooperated with their investigation and given them every opportunity to address this appropriately. And yet, more than a month later, I STILL do not have a final resolution. I have been in contact with Roberto Gutierrez, who initially seemed to acknowledge my frustration and reassure me that the matter was being addressed. However, I have now gone weeks without a meaningful response or a final conclusion. That is incredibly frustrating. What makes this even more disappointing is the contrast between the urgency Aptive seems to have when trying to gain new customers and the urgency shown when something goes wrong. Their representatives come door-to-door, talk about servicing your neighbors, and encourage you to sign up for their services immediately. They are very quick to get you signed up for a plan. But when there are consequences from what I believe was a serious lapse in judgment, suddenly the urgency is nowhere to be found. They were quick to sell us a service, but they have not shown the same urgency when it comes to dealing with the repercussions of what happened. When a company asks you to trust them with access to your home, that trust should mean something. You should be able to believe them when they tell you that your property has been secured. You should be able to trust that their employees understand that there may be pets or children inside. And if something goes wrong, you should expect the company to take the situation seriously and work toward a timely resolution. That has not been my experience with Aptive. Thankfully, Lulu is safe. But we were lucky. I am writing this because I don't want another family to experience the fear we experienced when we realized our dog was missing especially during extreme heat. If you have pets or young children, please think twice before allowing anyone into your home without understanding exactly what precautions are being taken. Ask how doors and gates are being secured. Ask what happens if something goes wrong. And pay attention to how a company treats you after the sale, not just how friendly and convincing they are when they're standing at your front door trying to sign you up. A company should be just as willing to stand behind its service when something goes wrong as it is to sell you that service in the first place. Aptive was quick to get our business. Unfortunately, they have not shown the same urgency in taking responsibility for resolving this situation. More than a month later, after providing evidence, bills, and documentation, I am still waiting. Thankfully, our dog is home and safe. But I cannot say that I feel the same level of trust toward Aptive anymore. Do your research. Ask questions. Been a long time customer with Aptive. Today, I had an 8-12 appt, but no one showed up or contacted me to provide status. Finally, after I called Aptive (several times) , call at 10:15, 11.30, and 12:45, I got a text from technician , Josh, that he was on his way. They were not honest about their services when sales reps came to your door to get you as a costumer. I have a new Pest control service and I'm very happy with them. I still get Aptive Sales Managers coming to my door being very pushy and trying to get me to get service with them even after I politely say "no thank you I'm happy with my current pest control" they don't leave they continue talking and start talking negatively about other pest control companies. Aptive Pest Control sent a solicitor to my house at 8:00 p.m. on a Tuesday. 8 at night, when families are getting kids to bed or simply trying to enjoy a quiet evening at home. The salesman was still making the rounds on what looked like an e-scooter as it was getting dark and launched into a very long sales pitch. The decision to send door-to-door solicitors out at 8:00 p.m. demonstrates remarkably poor judgment. And for this, I logged into Yelp for the first time in years specifically to leave this review. That's how annoyed I am. If this is how Aptive chooses to introduce itself to potential customers, I'll gladly hire someone else. This post is obviously just my experience and opinion, but I feel the responsible thing to do is to share it with everyone who cares to read it. I spoke with the Aptive Area Manager at my home two nights ago about the gnat problem. Somehow, he obtained my wife's number and told her he could get rid of the gnats in our yard. Naturally, I was intrigued, so I reached out to him. He came by the house, was super pleasant, and seemed like a nice kid. I told him I only wanted the gnats gone, that I did not care about ants or spiders, etc. He said he would remove them from the treatment and they would not be affected. We talked about the service, timeline, frequency, chemicals, etc. He guaranteed they could quickly rid my yard of the gnats, and all his local clients have been with him for a long time. I readily signed up for the service, and they performed said service the following day. I was pretty happy about that. I received a text from the guy who did the service, and he provided me with a list of the insects he sprayed for. Guess what was on it... Yep, spiders, ants, earwigs, mosquitoes, and cockroaches. All the insects (except for the cockroaches) that I expressly wanted left alone. When I asked him about the treatment, he said they have one treatment, and it will kill anything that comes into contact with it. When I got home last night, I walked into the front yard and was instantly swarmed by gnats. I can't be sure, but it seemed like there were more last night than ever before. Probably my imagination. I reached out to the sales guy who came to the house. He said the elimination of the gnats is a process, not an event. Hmmmm, I thought to myself. He then said it would take 2-3 months for the process to work, and my response was they would naturally be gone in 2-3 months, so why would I pay to not get rid of the gnats for 2-3 months. So, I canceled the service today. During the call, they tried to get me to keep the service by offering an upgraded treatment that had never been mentioned before. Keep in mind the service tech said they have one treatment. Anyway, I just wanted to share my experience with anyone who cares. read more

This company should be completely out of business. Their customer service team does everything possible to keep you as a customer but in reality the services provided are beyond horrible. If my family and I would have elected to cancel as we originally planned, it would have saved us anywhere from $800-$1200 in our pantry being overwhelmed by ants. In honesty should have done my due diligence in researching them, but I needed the service and I thought this was one of those times that it's just meant to be when they arrived at my door. They rescheduled 2 times when I was in dire need of a follow up for ants in my kitchen area. The cancellation fee is steep at $199 and when you sign up they don't say it's a mandatory fee, but you could be charged. Company is absolute trash!! I was lied to by the sales rep that knocked on my door offering services that the company does not even provide. After speaking to the technicians and finding out that rodent exclusion services were not available, i called their office hoping to find a resolution. I was met with zero help or any alternatives to resolve the issue. They dismissed the whole fact that i was lied to and was more worried about collecting the $199 cancellation fee. I discontinued services and asked to speak to a supervisor. Again i was met with no help and a bit of hostility. I was told "Your services has been cancelled, you will not receive any more calls from us and that you will have to pay the $199 early cancellation fee. That is all." Basically i feel defrauded. I have no problem paying for the services that was provided but the cancellation fee should have been waived since i cancelled due to being lied to and the company are unable to provide the services i specifically needed. Avoid this company at all cost if you don't want to have your money stolen from. If you see anyone at your door with that Aptive shirt on just kindly slam the door on their face and tell them they are trespassing. A representative from Aptive showed up at our home and completely disregarded multiple clearly posted No Soliciting signs. He rang the doorbell several times before we finally answered. When we asked if he had seen the signs, he ignored the question and launched into a disjointed sales pitch. He appeared to be under the influence -- slurring his words, unable to stay focused, and asking personal questions like our names and when we moved in. We asked him to leave. After we shut the door, he remained outside and shouted that he would be "coming back soon," which felt like a threat. When I reopened the door to ask what he meant, he again refused to explain. When asked for his name and company, he said his name was Eli and he worked for Aptive. After the door was closed again, he began yelling profanities and personal insults at our front door, which we caught clearly on our doorbell camera -- including threats directed toward me. By the time I came outside to confront him, he had fled the scene on a hoverboard. We immediately contacted Aptive to file a formal complaint and provided them with a detailed account and video footage. We also filed a police report with our local department. Aptive acknowledged the complaint and said they would begin an internal investigation. However, more than 24 hours later, we've received no follow-up, no update, and no apology. This experience was alarming and unacceptable. Based on this and other reviews, it seems Aptive either condones or fails to control the behavior of its salespeople, who are using aggressive and inappropriate tactics in residential neighborhoods. Someone called me the following day on 11/19/25 to talk about rescheduling the following Saturday early in the morning and better pricing. He assured me MULTIPLE times that we could do a 3 month trial because I wasn't comfortable with a longer contract without speaking to my partner. My mistake for ever trusting that would be the case. Even after I asked if the three month trial would be on the written contract and being told yes, he locked me into a 24 month contract with no mention of a 3 month trial.
