Reading these reviews I was a little shocked. I've been using them for a couple of years and have been very happy. Communication from the exterminators that come out is always on par. I have free ranging chickens so a heads up is helpful so that I can be sure to keep them in their pen for the day so as not to ingest anything. The guy told me to just keep them in their pen for the first 24 hours after spraying and I've never had a problem with my animals. I had a wasp issue and called. They came out the next day and took care of it at no additional cost. When I signed up I was told no contract. And that was what I was specifically trying to avoid so I made the sales rep tell me more than once that there was no contract. Just paying for the services that are scheduled throughout the year. Although I never double checked to see if I am in a contract in spite of what I was told. So after reading these reviews I will double check. But for me, so far so good. read more

Like Carol, I also had the extreme displeasure of interacting with Myles James while trying to cancel my elderly neighbor's account as her DPOA. I was met with rude, unprofessional, aggressive and highly inappropriate behavior as he proceeded to grill me: "Who granted power of attorney?" "She doesn't have any family?" "How long has she been out of the home?" "So whose cars are in the driveway?" Eventually, he accused me of fraud and demanded I give him the number to her memory care facility. He would not listen to reason, would not accept any of the legal documents as proof, wouldn't even speak to me about the account anymore. When I asked to speak to his supervisor I was told that he was the supervisor and that I would simply be re-routed to him again, so good luck calling back. Luckily, Aptive also employs people like San who are reasonable, empathetic and willing to listen. When I called Myles' bluff and called back, San took my call, calmly heard my situation, verified that we were well beyond the expired contract, and cancelled the account without any hassle whatsoever. She even made sure to send written confirmation. I could not have had a more drastically different interaction. The actual service itself is fine. It's pretty obvious that the system is designed to lull you into automatic rescheduling and payment, while the fee for each service/treatment climbs. It can also be hard to reschedule service as the dates provided online are often limited. There is also no ability to cancel service without talking to someone directly. That said, I've only had pleasant interactions with the service people when they're on-site. They were always polite and had great communication, touching base on arrival times and treatment areas. How effective the actual treatment for pest control was is hard to say. But my experience with Myles is enough to advise everyone against signing up with this company. I know firsthand that caring for the elderly isn't easy. Maybe Myles was triggered by events in his own life. But whatever the reason, that's no excuse for the behavior I experienced. read more

I would give a negative 5 if I could. They have ruined our home. I would give a negative 5 if I could. Called them out as we had a Waterbug problem "Outside" our home. The water bug issue stopped an in acceptable time. We also have rats at the chicken coop because the is an abundance of food. They brought poisons for a year and never really eliminated the problem. I did much better with positive kills using a 22 snakeshot shell. That is the least of our concerns. We have been here over 20 years with Zero pests inside the home. After their service started, we now have 3 different types of Roaches! They are either planting them here for job security, or, bringing the in on the clothes or tools. 25 years really here with Zero issues. Now I have to have the house Fumigated which will probably not get them all so they will begin to reappear. APTIV has ruined our home beyond repair. read more

We signed up with Aptive after one of their door-to-door salespeople approached my husband in 2024. Unfortunately, the experience has been frustrating from the start. The sales pitch made the service sound pretty flexible, but after signing up we realized the contract was much more restrictive than we expected. When we later decided to cancel, it turned into multiple phone calls, transfers, and attempts to convince us to stay. Every time we tried to cancel, it felt like we were being talked into keeping the service instead. Another frustrating issue was scheduling. We would regularly get notifications that someone was coming out, even though we hadn't specifically requested an appointment. If the timing didn't work, the online options were very limited and often only allowed rescheduling two weeks out. Most recently, we thought an upcoming appointment had already been canceled before we left for an international trip. Then, while we were out of the country, we received a notification saying someone would be coming the next day. We never requested that appointment and were surprised that service was still being scheduled. There are only two ways to cancel. One is to cancel online but we can't cancel it maybe because it is within 24 hours. The only method we were expected to call customer service again but we are abroad. Be aware that there is no email or text choice to keep the record. As for the pest control itself, I wouldn't say it was terrible, but I also didn't find it particularly impressive. The exterior-only treatments seemed about as effective as spraying ourselves. The one time someone actually came inside and treated the corners, the results were noticeably better. My biggest issue isn't the pest control, it's the sales tactics, scheduling, and cancellation process. My advice: read the contract very carefully, and if you ever decide to cancel, make sure you get written confirmation. read more

I've been a loyal customer with this company for a few years, and while the service was initially great, the quality has noticeably declined over the past year. Recently, the service has gotten incredibly sloppy. For the first time since using them, I had to request a reservice because the initial job was done so poorly. The breaking point, however, occurred during their most recent visit. The technician broke the latch to my backyard gate during the appointment. Rather than taking accountability or offering a resolution, the representative who came to assess the situation immediately deflected blame, dismissed it as simple "wear and tear," and condescendingly lectured me instead of fixing the issue they caused. read more

I waited all day for a scheduled appointment. I called at 4 p.m. to ask if they were still coming since they close at 5. They stated that the technicians still work after 5 if needed. They stated that they would contact the technician and have him text me with a time of arrival. I never heard another thing until I received an email 2 days later. They rescheduled me for 2 weeks later. No call to check if that date worked for me and no apology. I complained to a supervisor and tried to cancel my contract and he stated I would be charged $119. He offered me a $30 credit. I ask for a full credit on the next visit and was told that was the best offer. I'm cancelling as soon as my contract is up! Worst pest control company ever. Salesman was good and got me to switch over when they were door knocking in my area. Just got infested with ants after they were just here last week. I've have regular service with another company for over 2 years, and never had any issues. I called them back for a re-service and they can't come back for a week. The last company I used would come back the next day if I needed them to. And their platform is the worst, you can't get a hold of anyone over the phone, and if you finally do it sounds like it a call center over seas. Extremely poor cancellation process, not an easy process. Once done I was told that I still had one more treatment for my property. I was sent a text stating the day it was to be done, I called back to verify there wasn't going to be a charge and was told no that this was still part of what I paid for my annual contract. Be warned. The sales team goes around neighborhoods using deceptive statements about doing work in the street. This is a tired old statement that is simply not true. I have asked my neighbors and they said they never hired Aptive. Starting a pitch with a lie is not a good way to start a customer relationship. They also seem to ignore clearly placed "No soliciting" signages around the neighborhood. Lack of respect for privacy and deception seems systemic in this company's foundation. This company had their sales people canvassing our neighborhood all day. He knocked on my door around 2 PM and I didn't answer. He continued knocking and eventually walked away. The same guy knocked on our door at 8 PM! My husband answered and he started to give a pitch about his Pest Control. We have a young baby who just went to sleep when he knocked on the door. What kind of company solicits that late at night?! And returns to the same house twice in one day. I would never do business with a company that knocks on our door when it's dark outside. This company is putting out black boxes with rat poison, and they are eventually going to poison, owls hawks dogs, and cats. This is the worst way to deal with rats is with poison. Secondary poisoning of other animals is truly sad. My dog ended up eating a poison rat and spent days in the dog hospital I have tried to call the customer service and no one can answer. Absolutely horrible service for the past year...I've had over four "reservice" appointments where Aptive technicians had to return to my home and do the work correctly. When I've signed up for a window of arrival times, they never show up within that scheduled window and basically arrive at their convenience. Twice, I've waited for them since they were supposed to spray inside. Today, I was scheduled between 8:00 am and 12:00 noon with a no-show during that window, and the technician finally showed up at 6:30 pm... I called the office at least 5 times inquiring where the technician was. The calls go overseas, and they placate you to nauseam. Over the past several months, I have tried to reach the Headquarters Office in Utah with no success. I've spoken to multiple supervisors about the service, and they just schedule a reservice. Each time Aptive comes out, they have no idea what to do... One tech had no idea how to change the bait in the Vole traps and was actually scared to handle them. Today I requested to cancel my contract and was told that there is a $199 surrender fee. Bullshit, since Aptive is in breach of contract because of the number of reservice appointments I've had, my time and the wait for them to arrive, plus the fact that they don't do what the customer requests. There are so many more pest control companies out there that are hungry for new customers, and I plan to be one of their new customers. Today, I asked for the name and number for the Area Supervisor in my catchment area and was given the name Zachary Scoles #619-701-7653... I called this number several times, left messages, and finally reached someone who had no idea about Aptive, nor was he the Area Supervisor. In addition, earlier in the day, Aptive hung up on me several times; then, when I tried back, I got a recording that the office was closed??? I am not only leaving this message on Yelp, but I plan to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and to track down the owners publicly on LinkedIn. read more

Terrible company. They never show up on the scheduled appointment. When they do show up they enter your backyard without permission. The product is not all natural as advertised, they have a synthetic neurotoxin in their spray. I have pets and would have never agreed to them using a neurotoxin. You can't get out of the contact. We hired Aptive to address a cockroach problem, but after multiple visits, the issue was never resolved. After canceling service, a representative came back out and made it sound like they could still help, but we continued to have the same problem. We later had several other pest control companies inspect the property, and multiple professionals stated that the infestation had not been treated properly. We then hired a different company, and after just one treatment, the problem was resolved. We have not seen a single cockroach since. To make matters worse, we are now being billed for services that did not solve the problem, and we were never aware that we were being signed up for a two-year contract. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend Aptive. We paid for a service that failed to address the issue, while another company resolved it with a single visit. read more

I was sold the premium service by a door-to-door sales kid back in May 2026. Had the first visit scheduled for a few days later when I could be at the home. The tech never showed up during the arrival window and never sent me any update texts. I finally got a text fifteen minutes after the window closed saying "We were unable to service your home." I tried to reschedule using the online portal and it would not let me. The sales kid (I say kid because he was 20 years old at most) told me over text I needed to call the office to reschedule. When I did call I encountered the most ineffective and aggravating AI system I've ever had the displeasure of talking at. It could not recognize anything I said, and I finally had to yell at it to get me a live person. The live person I was eventually routed to was 1) Obviously a rep overseas with a very heavy accent, and 2) Obviously working out of their hovel because I heard children and banging pots in the background. They were able to reschedule my appointment, however. When the new appointment day came I stayed at my home for the entire four hour window. Once again, no update texts, no technician, and finally a text an hour after the window closed saying, "We were unable to service your home." I left the service completely alone as I hadn't been charged yet. A week later I get a text saying my next appointment is automatically set up. I replied back saying to stop service and got an immediate response from an AI bot. I demanded a live person over text, and when I got one I said "Your techs missed two scheduled appointments with no notice. Do not service my home. Cancel all services. Do not bill me." The agent, if she was actually real, acknowledged that I was cancelling services and would not be billed. I will be watching my credit card to make sure I am not charged. If I am I will be disputing it with my credit card company and filing a complaint against the company with whatever licensing board oversees them. I cannot recommend Aptive Pest Control at all, and advise anyone encountering a door-to-door salesperson to kindly shoo them away. read more

Was with Aptive for a few years. They started out good but what they do is they go from a 3 month schedule and then sneak in that they update it to 6-8 weeks. So they ended up coming 8 times vs. 4 times a year and they jacked the prices up. When you complain on the phone, they will reschedule but their system keeps on automatically setting up the next appointment 6 weeks later. Online, you can modify the date but only to the same week so you end up having to call on the phone. They do this on purpose so they can make 1.5x to 2x the billing on top of raising the prices a few times a year. I wouldn't use this company - I would choose somebody more honest. read more

We are in the ant's territory and our landlord provides Aptive Pest Control quarterly. We asked for just the outside perimeter to be sprayed the first year but started to notice ants taking over the inside of the house. I've had ants in other rentals and used the terro ant baits, which worked quite well...but these ants in this region kept coming without a slow down for weeks and loved to bite us ...UNTIL we got Aptive to spray the inside perimeter once a year as well. We've been ant free ever since. We had the most professional and kindest pest control staff today, thanks Zach! 5 stars for Zach and Aptive. read more

However, I never saw nor heard the tech, nor did careful inspection around the outside of the house indicate any spraying. This company is completely scam and no honor. A pest control technician came to my house for a regular service around 8:00 a.m. in May. During the visit, he asked if I would like to add additional treatment for mosquitoes and asked me to sign something. I trusted him and signed it. However, when I called the company on June 24, 2026, to cancel my service, I was told that I had supposedly signed a new one-year contract. I was never clearly informed that I was agreeing to renew my contract for another year, and I would never have agreed to that if it had been properly explained to me. When I requested cancellation on June 24, I was told that July 1 would be my final service and that my account would then be canceled without any penalty. However, they did not honor what they told me. My service is still active, and now I am being told that I still need to receive another service this month and that they will not cancel my account until next month. This company keeps changing its story and delaying my cancellation. I feel completely misled and deceived. I signed based on what the technician told me about adding mosquito treatment, not because I knowingly agreed to a new one-year contract. I also relied on the company's clear promise that my July 1 service would be the final service and that my account would be canceled without penalty. This is an extremely dishonest and frustrating business practice. I strongly recommend that customers be very careful work with this company. read more

They come to your door and lie to your face by saying they've "treated" your home previously to try to get you interested. They lie to you by saying your neighbor "Fred" down the street gets his home "treated" so you should too. They're just a scam. So sick of them trying to fraud elder people and wives. I had no problem with Aptive showing up every month to fumigate. The problem started when I upgraded to their "Premium ". They failed to show up in October 2025. When I contacted Aptive they claimed it was a "winter month", and they had 40 to 80 days to service the home. I decided to cancel the service. They charged me 199.00 cancellation fee and 105.00 for the month of October 2025 for service. I fought the 105.00 with the bank and received a temporary credit. They are now doing a reversal to charge my account. I contacted the bank's Claim Department and they said, " Aptive claimed they serviced your property for the month of October". I requested a copy of Aptive's claim. I will be contacting Structural Pest Control Board (SPCB) once I receive the letter from the bank regarding the response from Aptive and report it as fraud.. If we all complained, this company will no longer exist. read more

Still loving APTIVE!! Consistent and on-time. Great communication and all our tech's have been awesome...their products have been working great and I rarely see any residual pests going forward. I receive photos of all areas treated, with notes reflecting what work was performed, very transparent. I have outdoor cameras surrounding my property and upon reviewing my videos, all work is done as stated. I'm still really pleased with APTIVE and felt I needed to update my review to let you all know that in the Temecula area, they're a dependable and trustworthy pest control company. I do have rescue dogs on my property and none of my dogs have been harmed or gotten sick from their pest solutions that they're spraying. Last week, we had our first treatment. The two guys that came out were super nice and knowledgeable. I was told, if we find any hotspots to call and the company would come out without any additional charges due to our contract. After the treatment, I noticed a hotspot in a visible area. I called and made an appointment for Saturday. No one showed. I called Monday and made another appointment for today, Tuesday. No one came out again. Very disappointed. One missed appointment, is understandable even though the company never reached out. But two missed scheduled appointments. Not professional at all. read more

EDIT: I received a very satisfactory end to this debacle. The Aptive customer care team saw and understood how frustrating the situation was and graciously rectified it. So I'm adjusting my review accordingly due to the kind customer service. I used Aptive's service twice and then cancelled. Despite being assured their product was bee-safe, I found dead bees in my yard. Even more frustrating, the issue I actually had--fungus gnats in my lawn--was never resolved. I still owed $199 for cancelling early on a year long service, which I was fine with paying. However, my credit card was compromised and changed around at the same time, so they couldn't charge me. I would have been happy to fix that, but instead of contacting me (no emails, voicemails, or texts), Aptive sent my account straight to collections. When I spoke with a rep, I was told their emails "bounced back"--yet the debt collector reached me immediately by the same email. I updated my card and paid immediately, but this entire experience was stressful, poorly handled, and reflects very badly on Aptive's service and communication. read more

The door-to-door tactics are intrusive to say the least. A young man, out of the blue, knocked on our door at 9:00 pm. It was dark. We were in bed. We were very clear that we were not interested in service. Then the young man came back the next day! Knocked on the door. I was told they are a family business (not true), and it is slow for them, and while I repeated, "We are not interested", the sales rep insisted on continuing to sell me. He would not take my NO as an answer. No one wants a surprise guest at the door, especially when it is dark. I found this experience very unprofessional and UNSETTLING. We call their customer service to check and one te h told us that it was rescheduled to later in the day. We asked to speak with a representative to cancel the service. This person kept saying we had rescheduled the appointment to the following week, which was a lie. Then, they then said the tech would be coming between a time frame for today. We said we would no longer need their service and now they would like us to pay $199 to cancel the account when we have only ever received one service. I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Aptive. The technicians sprayed the wrong house and even sent me photos from someone else's property as proof of service. When I noticed the mistake, I contacted them right away. The representative I spoke with admitted the error and told me someone would come back on Saturday to complete the service at my correct address -- but no one ever showed up or followed through. When I later called to cancel my membership because of their mistake, I spoke with a manager who was rude and dismissive. Despite the fact that this issue was entirely due to their error, he insisted I would still have to pay a $199 cancellation fee. Not only did they fail to complete the service I paid for, but it also seems they never even notified the homeowner whose property was treated by mistake. This is unacceptable and unprofessional. I would strongly caution anyone considering Aptive to think twice before signing up. read more
