I had Pro Source Pest Control come out to my home to eliminate a rat issue I had in my attic 4 months ago. The previous owners apparently did some work on the plumbing under the house and had to cut an opening on the wire mesh in order to fit pvc pipes under the house. Apparently after they finished, they never closed the opening. Needless to say, rats got in and we started to hear noise in the attic. I contracted Pro Source for 1 month of service. Ryan came out and informed us that they only take cash or check $275.00 for 1 month of service. What company in 2019 does not take credit or debit cards. He then walked around the house and closed any small opening I had with steel wool pads (see below) which were an eye sore. I asked him is that all you seal it with? and he responded "yes." We then went inside the house and he climbed on the ladder and opened the attic hatch and just set a trap there. I asked him, if he was not going to climb and walk to the bathroom where we hear the noise. He responded "I never had to chase rats, they will come to where the trap is." He kept coming twice a week and some weeks he wouldn't catch anything so he would replace the old bait with fresh bait. He did catch a few rats but if I would have known from the beginning that they don't climb and walk to where the issue is and that all they use is steel wool to cover openings I would have never hired them. Needless to say, I took off all the steel wool pads and I sealed them with wire mesh myself for a better look. Over all, they did show up on time but never less, I will be looking for a different company if I need any future service. read more

I live in the hills of Whittier and a rodent somehow got into the walls of my house and died. The stench was really bad and I needed help quick. I had Adam, from Pro Source, come out and look for the problem. He was extremely thorough and was even familiar with the layout of my home from doing so much work in in this area. He went in both attics, and searched inside and out for traces of rodent activity. The smell was coming from my kids' bathroom. The smell made it unusable. Although he could not locate the rodent due to it not being anywhere around the hole under the bathroom sink, he was able to seal up the hole which immediately helped with the stench. After a few days, we were back to normal. Adam did remove a very old carcass from the attic which must have been there before we moved in. He also sealed up several openings where a rat could have entered the walls from the garage and made more suggestions for keeping rodents out. He set set precautionary traps even though there was no further evidence of recent activity. Adam made follow-up visits promptly as promised, even when it was pouring rain. He answered my many questions and was very professional. The verdict was that this rodent must have eaten some rat poison we have in the garage cabinet and gotten into the walls in search or one last drink. Adam did all he could to remedy the problem and it helped a great deal. He's not afraid to work hard. We caught a rat that night and even though Henry had a busy day the following day he still made time to pick it up because I get super grossed out and couldn't take care of it myself. Stay away, they gouge you for $275 just for coming out and follow up service for only up to 30 days. Ralph came out, did a thorough assessment, put wool in entry points, set traps (caught a rat), etc. I was lead to believe all the entry points were protected, then heard MORE rodents over a month later - yep... ANOTHER $275. He then put foam in a small crevice above the front door, so I'm thinking the issue HAD to be resolved now. After hearing rodents a THIRD time in the SAME area, I contacted another company who found the issue to be a very visible, obvious (to rodent specialist) sewer rodents entry point, getting through a hole under the tub - which is where the noises were coming from. They were trapped in a space blocked off by the tub, but you can hear them scratch and squeal - it was just awful and gross hearing them each time. I was led to believe it was all these other possible entry points, while he was not fixing the ACTUAL hole under the tub, causing me to spend $275 EACH time they came out, if not within 1 month. Not cool at all - go with another company, for sure. They tried to keep ripping me off and sending me flyers so they could come back. NOT! read more

Call Pro Source if you want the run-around about price and service. I spoke with Adam. Who was great. He got my information and my needs then gave me a reasonable quote of $135. After Adam found out I was outside his area, he referred me to Raul. First, it took Raul over two hours to get back to me. Then, he questioned the quote I received. Remember, this is the company but a different guy. Next, he tried to up sale me and wouldn't honor the previous quote. Gave me excuses of size of my property and different types of products. Raul was definitely running some shady operation at Pro Source. Don't risk using this company at all. read more

WOW!!!! These guys rock!!! I've been trying to catch a rat under my bedroom for the last month. I spent $200 in traps and poison - tried peanut butter, bacon, dog food and cheese - absolutely nothing worked. I even spent $40 on an electronic trap - that didn't work either. Adam came over and said "let's try avocado" and pulled out an "organic avocado" from his truck - what a riot. He went under our house on Wednesday and put in 3 traps baited with avocado. I admit - I was somewhat skeptical. But ------ for the first time in a month, my wife and I had a peaceful nights sleep - no chewing, banging under the bedroom - nothing. Thursday night - the same thing - no noise. We're beginning to think it worked. Adam came back Friday afternoon - stuck his head under the house - and pulled out the critter - dead as a doorknob in the first trap!!!! Yeah!!!!!!! Had a huge problem with ants for years. Had two major companies come and provide services and both said they could not completely remove ants from the walls in my home or my attic. Both companies eventually said they could not even service the property, as their equipment could not reach 300 feet from the street, which is the end of the property. Asked the next door neighbor if he had ants and he said they had not had a problem for years. He recommended Pro-Source and I haven't had ants for over 5 years now. I had been calling around for service from other companies, they were the first to call me back, gave great prices, and the tech David was on time and very knowledgeable about how to get rid of my rodent issue. He showed me some holes around my house and sealed them up for me. He may look young, but he definitely knows what he is doing for rodents. I even signed up for preventative sprays and I like how they don't have contracts, so you can cancel whenever you want.
