An aggressive salesperson came to my door with tons of questions. I didn't open the door, just talked to him through a window, which I shouldn't have even done that. I told him I already had pest control service and he still persisted, telling me neighbors were all switching, etc etc. I told him I wanted to do some research and he acted like he didn't know what I meant, saying I could just ask questions at that time. Then he pulled out an iPad and wanted me to sign some long contract. I said "no, as I said I need to do research and then he told me he'd come back tonight to follow-up." I said "no" and he said "he'd come back at 4pm instead." I practically ignored him and closed the window. Then at 4:30p he was banging on the door and ringing the bell. After doing some "research" as I said I would do, I now knew better than answering him. Seems this is a scam to get people to sign a contract, that they then have to pay to get out of. I am a long-time customer, but recently the service is awful. I've twice spent 20+ minutes on the phone attempting in vain to report a roach problem (the worse I've ever experienced at my home). When I finally did get through, and schedule an appointment, I was disappointed that the technician was a no-show. I've again been frustrated trying to report this new problem. After a 20+ minute wait I was routed to voice mail. I already know that leaving my phone number on your voice mail is in vain. No callback will be coming. I'm forced to start blasting bad reviews everywhere that I can. I can tell that you are filtering your Google reviews though, to companies that conveniently hide bad reviews for you. After I understood they were selling pest control and had flagrantly ignored my sign, one of them said "I don't want you to miss out on the protection we are giving your neighbor." I have had such a horrible time with the service of this company from day one. We were approached by a door to door salesman in the middle of summer when bugs were rampant. We signed up hoping this would fix our main ant issue and take care of all other bugs too. First, the initial service was to be performed when we were home so that they could spray the inside the house. I scheduled a time and had to leave work early to make the appointment only to find that the guy already came and didn't do the inside of my house. I called Aptive and they said they would do the inside of the house next month. I had to again schedule a time and leave work early for the appointment which he again showed up early for! Thankfully this time my husband was already home. Since that initial service I have had more and more ants in my yard rather than less and less. The tech comes out for maybe ten minutes, barely spray the yard and places a sign in my lawn saying they did all these services that they didn't do then they charge you $129 for the quarter! I have to continue to live out this annual contract I signed because they would charge me over $200 to end the annual agreement. Also, they are supposed to come out every 3 months however, they come out every 2 months and charge me the $129 for the quarter! I have to call them every month and tell them not to come until the month stated in my contract. They are such scammers! UGH! I'll be so glad to be rid of them in the next few months. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE! They show up unplanned and claim they spray the house, but with no record of actually treating the property. They will scam you into a contract and chase you to pay without doing the actual work. We had quarterly treatments that included the exterior and interior. In the beginning service was good but it seems the longer you have them the worse the agents get that come out to treat your home. What made me cancel was one servicing agent act like he was treating the inside of my home when nothing was coming out of the pump, when I told him about what he was doing, he continued to act like something was coming out of the pump. When it comes to billing they are only supposed to bill you every 2 months for a total of 6 payments during a 12 month contract. I was drafted 7 payments and was told I did not cancel in time so when they treated the last time they charged me again. I was smart enough to ask them to take my card information off their files so they wouldn't draft me an 8th time. Now I'm trying to get my last payment back and they are telling me I owe a payment, ridiculous. Try to shop around before going with them. Started rattling off names of other people they had done business with in the neighborhood, Lol, all wrong first names mixed with different wrong last names ( good thing we know our neighbors) ..what a joke. A salesperson came to my door about 6:30 pm on 4/19/2017. He initially told me what they were offering and I said that I was not interested. He persisted in telling me his sales pitch and he named neighbors that did supposedly purchase the service. This was kind of creepy because he relayed personal information about my neighbors to me. I once again said I am not interested. With that he just stood there leaning against my front door frame, I repeated that I was not interested and started to close the door. When he would not move I asked him to please leave my residence. He started to walk away and said "I hope you find joy in your life". I was not mad and did not raise my voice until this sarcastic comment. Why do some door to door sales people get upset and rude when they come to my door uninvited (with a no solicitation notice) and don't want to purchase their product? Some of the other reviews on this site where the service was purchased is the reason why I don't ever buy anything from door to door sales people. read more

I've had Aptive for several years now and the main issue until this week is that the service tech will come by and only service a small portion of the house outside. I always missed the tech and I should have demanded better service early on. Now on Monday I called because I had bugs in the house and wanted them to service my kitchen area. I previously had ants in the kitchen and was able to catch the tech to place traps in the kitchen for me. So, my main focus for this service outside of the normal service was for in the house. So Aptive has a policy that they will call you about an hour before they arrive (sometime 30 mins). On Tuesday that call come around 730 am so I expected that 830-900 that would be there. I went to drop off my daughter and returned home to wait for the person to come. About noon, I'm ready to go out and eat because I cleaned out the kitchen and I don't want to use it until the service is done. I called the service number and a representative assured me that the Tech would be there around 4-6pm. I said great I have to pick up the kids from school so that would be fine. I have chronic fatigue so I have to sleep in the afternoon so I can be able to help the kids with homework and so one in the evening. I went to sleep around 1ish. At 2pm I left the house to find a green card in the door saying my service had been completed (no call, no door knock, no bell rung, and what happened to 4-6pm). I called Aptive and of course they can't get anyone to come that day and schedule someone to show up the next morning and the manager will call me. So today (Wednesday), I called around 1130 and asked if the person was on his way; morning is about over and I haven't heard anything. The gentleman on the phone said I don't know what happened, I cannot see the scheduler, I don't know when they will come. I said okay, I cannot continue to play this cat and mouse game. I just want to cancel and move on with my life. So now I have to be transferred to a Loyalty department. The loyal department is unavailable and I recieve several rather rude excuses. I asked for a manager and not much help their either (I'm still waiting on the managers call from yesterday). You can call and speak to another person (never the same) and they say, I'm the only person there and the manager isn't in, we don't know their schedule. I have a hold on my account and that is a loop hole for them to contact me again in a few months after I have forgotten to sale me their services again. This might be good service if you are able to watch them each and every time they work on your property. You will never hear from a manager if you have a complaint. Go with Moxie, I only changed because Aptive offered me a discount and now looking back Moxie was much better. read more

Firstly, we have NO solicitation signs all over our community; I actually watched him as he went door to door. Keep in mind that my community is primarily retiree's and seniors; who will not question anyone who is rather youngish as he reminds them of their grandchildren... at any rate this guy approached my husband who talked to him as I sat in my home office just observing through the window. Apparently, he made a "good" case for his services as my husband came in and asked for me to talk to him. I went out and of course, he threw that typical salesmen smile at me; not impressed and he started his pitch. I listened and at the end I told him that I had a relationship with a group who I call on when needed an they exceed my expectations. This guy proceeds to pull up the company I used and said, they only have one review my company has several hundreds etc.etc. I told him I would have to do some research before I make any decision, he then start throwing numbers and the numbers kept going down so that by the end of it, the cost was going to be $49 a quarter; and they would throw in the first treatment for free. I told him I would call him. He then proceeded to use the neighbors names that signed up with him, and because of that he could give me a better deal. I told him, I WILL CALL YOU.... he actually came back the next day. I told him we have no solicitation signs and he really shouldn't be going door to door. he turned beet red and just rode away. Today I had a rude, arrogant, unsolicited door-to-door kid trying to sell me pest control services. He indicated there was a sense of urgency, as the truck was down the street working on a number of my neighbors homes. I told him we have a local provider we are happy with and "no thank you." He became more belligerent and told me I need to listen to what he has to say. I said, again, "No thank you," at which point he became extremely rude and inappropriate. I asked him to leave my property, which he initially refused to do. Clearly, this is a rip-off, high pressure scam company. They were great the first few times. I've had them almost 2 years, and they do less and less. None of the eaves had been swept clean of old dead bugs. They did that at the beginning. Save your money. My biggest concern was mice - I didn't have any and I wanted to keep it that way. They assured me they could do this. They didn't come in the house to make sure there wasn't anyway for mice to get in the house. They stuck to outside and sprayed - that's all I've ever seen them do. I used their service for well over a year and all they did was treat outside and never any type of inspection. I figured they knew what they were doing and as long as I didn't have any mice I had no complaints. Well guess what? Two weeks after their last treatment I had a mouse in my house. How???? I called them and they said well do you see any bugs around your house. So if you are treating for bugs I guess they're fine. Despite two services, all the spider webs were just hanging out where they are. I have photos after each service. When I try to talk to your customer service, he even couldn't define the De-Webbing service which has been performed at my house based on the note you guys left. Your customer service even couldn't find any supervisor for me to talk to. But, let's give your customer service a credit for reading a manual for me on the phone.It was really entertaining for me:) I am really wondering if you will take action to clean up your mess and take the responsibility. Absolutely AWFUL. Would give them zero stars if I could. We contracted them as a preventative measure- never had any real issues with bugs, but wanted to keep it that way. Initial visit went fine, no problems. Had our first quarterly visit and noticed an influx of spiders shortly after, which we anticipated, thinking they were taking refuge and would eventually die off. When they were not gone about 2 weeks later, we asked for a return visit. Someone came a few days later and sprayed something "different," who knows what. A week later, the spiders we had were still thriving, and new spiders were also surfacing. My husband called them on a Friday, was told to leave his name and number, and he would receive a callback by the end of the day. Did not happen. He called again Saturday, which is apparently outside of their hours, and left a message. He did not receive a call back. When he didn't hear back by Tuesday, he called again, was put on hold, and no one ever came on the line. I called again several days later to complain and was told by their stellar customer service representative that he personally had contacted us, and "one of us" had received a voicemail. We both checked our phone records and have no calls or voicemails from this company. They refused to terminate our service agreement without a ridiculous cancelation fee. No wonder they force you into a contract- both their product and their customer service are complete and total garbage. This was all a few months ago, and we have not heard from them since, whether to follow up or to schedule another quarterly visit- thank god. Hopefully they decided it was more trouble than it was worth. Unless you want bugs in your house that you never had, stay far, far away. This company is the worst. read more

I am very disappointed with this company's business practice called to cancel services and they wanted to hold me hostage by telling me a 170 cancellation fee would apply. That is not a good business practice. Although I was told there would be a cancellation fee I was also told that I could cancel by 12/2016 with no additional fees. I told him to leave and he just stared at me. Then I asked for his boss' number and then he said he couldn't give me a card to his company. Sounds like a total cheesy hack operation. Door to door salesman came with no mask during covid. Our city requires sales people wear a bright neon vest and have a permit. He was not wearing a vest. I didn't ask about a permit. I told him I already had pest services. He wanted to know with which company. It was none of his business, so I closed my door. Others in my neighborhood have reported aggressive Aptive people going door to door. From an Indeed review I read from a former employee, this company is horrible to work for as well. My thought is if they treat employees poorly, then I doubt customers addres treated much better. read more

There are scammers!!! The guy showed up to my door and told me I only have to pay $50.00 and said there is no contract then I received an email stating I have signed a 2 years contract. I called and asked them to hold off the service, she said she will have to charge me a $170.00 discontinuous of service fee. I explained to her that I'm not discontinuing my service but need to move it up a month due to personal reasons. She said she can move it up only two weeks or I can transfer my service to someone else. That's how they are in business. Warning!!! Do not sign up with them!!! The other day I called and told them I need the tech to be here on time as I need to leave the house for an appointment. I signed up for a quarterly service on 8/8 and told the salesman I was leery on signing up because if I am not home, how do I know anything was done? The salesman assured me they would call and text me before they come out to make sure I was home. Well, I was supposed to get my first treatment on 8/9 between 2:40 and 4:40 PM and I was home and no one showed up or called. So I called Aptive and of course they were closed after 5:00, so I left a message that I was cancelling and in you service contract there is a form to sign if you wish to cancel within 3 days and I sent that in the morning of 8/10. Low and behold 30 minutes after I called and left a message to cancel I get an email saying a person named Tammy was at my house and treated my yard and if I was happy click the link to give her a 5 dollar tip! The past day I have been getting blasted with texts and emails asking for refferals and reviews! You also have to leave a credit or debit card on file so I cancelled that card and got a new one coming so they don't charge me anything in the future I would avoid this company!! I signed up for the service to get the bug problem under control. I informed the salesman that came to my door that I would be moving in a few months and did not want to enter into a contract. He assured me that there was no contract and that I could cancel or transfer my service with no penalty. 4 months later I called to terminate the service as my new home is still being built and was told that there would be a $160 termination fee. After protesting the rep then said I could transfer the service however, I would still have to pay the fee to "freeze" the account and that it would later be applied to the ongoing service. I then asked to speak with a superviser to voice my concerns with their unethical practice and have been told that he would call me back. As to the actual service, I can't say that I noticed any decline in the ants or other bugs at my house. I would consider other options before signing up for Aptive. read more

had a very poor service experience for a recurring service we had signed up for. out of the 5 services we had to have them come back so many times. I will not recommend them at all. spiders, hornet nest , wasp nests were not cleaned out . they just come in and spray the chemical in 5 mins and exit. they do not invest time to make sure they check the house. read more

A young man came to our door around 9pm and started a hard sell to get rid of "bugs" around our home. He threw out names of purported neighbors who used his services. When I told him I wasn't interested and informed him that our development does not allow solicitation, he indicated a badge that gave him special permission. We don't have exemptions for sales reps. There is no way to contact the company other than a phone number. Besides, most "bugs" are good for the environment - and spiders eat insects. read more

Giving Aptive one star is being generous. The sales people were friendly but that is where the positivities end. Horrible customer service. Be prepared to wait 30-40 minutes on hold and they will not call back. The service is not worth the price. I purchased Aptive through a door to door salesman. Within a day of giving them my credit card, my account was hacked and I had to close my accounts. They did one treatment at my home. Within days I started finding dead squirrels and Chipmonks (about a dozen) dead around the outside of my house. Buyer beware!!!! read more
