The quality of the product is not good at all! The day after they spray I still have a ton of mosquitoes and they don't spray to the tree line like I was told they would. I would be very weary of signing a contract with them. Save your money!!! read more

Terrible experience. A salesman from their company came to my door in Clearwater FL. Since I just moved into the home and didn't have a big company yet I listened. He was trying to sell the first first visit and kept discounting the price. Finally I said yes but only if I did not have to commit to anything. He confirmed there is no commitment, I could pay for that one visit and then decide if I wanted them to come back or not. So we scheduled an appointment. I was specific about the appointment time since I have a home office and had clients coming to the house. Well I got a voicemail while I was working saying they were in there way, this was like 2 hours before my scheduled window! I called back and said I'm not available. Then said someone canceled and they were free earlier. I told them when I was available and they said they would come then. That time came and no one came, I called and they said they were at another appointment and would be over next. After all this stress and me trying to work my schedule around that time, he comes to the door and tries to get me to sign a contract for a year! It also have a fee on there if you end up canceling early. I explained that I was told I didn't have to sign any contract. He went on to say today is free and the contract is moving forward. I explained that the other guy did not say today was free but gave me a set price they I would pay for this initial visit only. He asked me to hold on while he called his boss. He called someone and came back and said, I'm sorry if you don't sign this contract we can't spray your house today. I said well it looks like we both waisted each other's time. 5/6/2020, Aptive sales guys in Denver Colorado going door to door (on a segway) without any essential protective gear such as face mask nor gloves. When asked, the sales guy replied that the company's business is "essential," Aptive does not provide this gear to sales, and, lastly, it doesn't bother him at all. It bothers me and all the older neighbors on our street. This Aptive sales guy is going door to door, possibly spreading Covid-19 around and killing people. And it does not bother him. Came to my door during a pandemic. No mask. Caught me getting my mail outside. Kept cornering me away from my own front door. Clearly no concern for social distancing or common courtesy. I'm very short. Salesman was easily a foot or more taller. Refused to leave. Very pushy. Had no literature or even a card. Asked inappropriate personal questions. I finally managed to squeeze by the guy to get back in my own house. If I'd had my phone in hand, I would've called the police. read more

Horrible service. The Aptive tech came by and sprayed whatever they had in their containers like it was nothing. He didn't even look like he was doing anything right. Didn't even bother to do the inside that we specifically asked the company to do. When trying to call for a re-treatment but was either dismissed with a, " we will call you for a conformation," or a , "our technician will call you for your availability." Even when we set a day if we do not answer the phone once, the tech would leave and say we were not home. Not even considered to knock on the door. Paid the 180$ to get out of this crappy company. Take it from me and all the other people who weren't paid to give a good review, don't sign the contract, don't give them money, and don't let them talk you into buying their services. read more

I spent over 4 hours today, just trying to cancel my service. I've currently been on hold for 1 hour 44 minutes and going. My outside spider problem got worse, not better, since I hired Aptive a year ago. I also started getting flys that I never had before. I tried canceling 3 months ago and was told it's not 1 year with 4 total visits, it's an initial visit and 4 regular visits. Plus the cost is very hire. I should have only given them 1 star, but the system won't let me change it now. Save yourself the grief and disappointment and stay away from Aptive! read more

I have been using Aptive for over a year now. I chose them because they are environmentally friendly. They are suppose to come out every 3 months. There computers generate the appointments automatically and the appointments are continually moved up before the 3 month mark. I don't want to have to pay for pest control before the 3 month mark. I have continually told them that when I have to call in each time and schedule the appointment for the 3 month mark. This is a nuisance because they phone volume causes a long wait time. Regardless, I have put up with this nuisance until today. This time, after I called to set up the appointment for the proper time, I got a text last week saying that we are sorry we couldn't come today but we can come on Saturday. I called them and asked them what are they doing? I didn't have an service appointment last week. My appointment was for this Tuesday between 9 and 10. They could not get in into their heads as to why I was calling even after I asked they why are they sending texts apologizing for not coming on a day that I hadn't scheduled them. Regardless, I was still hanging in there. I called to reschedule them for today, this Thursday since my sister was coming in unexpectedly on Tuesday. Each of the SIX PHONE CALLS WHEN I WAS SETTING UP OR CALLING THEM TO ASK WHAT THEY WERE DOING, I MENTIONED THAT THEY MUST COME WITH THE SPECIAL GEL FOR THE GERMAN COCKROACHES BECAUSE THIS IS THE ONLY THING THAT KEEPS THEM FROM OVERRUNNING MY GUEST BATHROOM. They have brought this gel faithfully for over a year. I won't even mention that they have failed to eliminate the german roach problem all together. I guess i just did. The service tech was suppose to come today between 1 and 5 pm. I am here all day working on paperwork for my clients waiting for him to show up. I did not get one single call today giving me a window of his arrival. I had to call this morning and get this timeframe. He just called at 6:30 p.m. telling me he is on his way. I am still okay with Aptive at this point. HOWEVER, WHEN I REMINDED HIM THAT HE NEEDED TO SPRAY INSIDE AND BRING IN THE SPECIAL GEL FOR THE COCKROACHES. HE SAID THAT THEY DON'T USE SPECIAL GEL, THEY USE WHITE PLASTIC BAIT TRAPS. I TOLD HIM THAT THEY HAVE PUT THOSE DOWN EACH TIME AND ALONE THEY DO NOT KEEP THE ROACH PROBLEM IN CONTROL. THE GEL IS NECESSARY. HE SAID THAT HE DIDN'T HAVE ANY GEL BUT HE COULD COME BACK TOMORROW. i HAVE BEEN WAITING ALL DAY FOR HIM TO SHOW UP AND NOW HE WANTS TO COME BACK TOMORROW BECAUSE EITHER HE DID NOT READ THE NOTES ON THE ORDER OR THE 6 PEOPLE I TALKED TO DID NOT PUT THE NOTES ABOUT THE GEL ON THE ORDER!!! Update to below: I had my home scheduled to be re-serviced today after they failed to complete the job last Friday.. Guess what no call no show!!! Amazing!!!! RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN - DO NOT USE APTIVE I've had aptive for a year now and have become increasingly dissatisfied. I have recently called 5 separate times demanding to speak with a supervisor and have not received a call back in 5 days. Only during one service call did a technician remove the spiders and webs from the eves. Furthermore on this past Friday I explained that ticks have been horrible this year and requested this to be an area of focus, however only 1/4 if my yard was treated. This company is a bait and switch. They hook you in with a great first service and then go down hill. Save yourself and don't do it. If you do decide to go with them you can't say you weren't warned. read more

Great pest control service, have taken care of all of my bug problems

Awful company. They go door to door - hard to chase them a way with a broom. They convinced me that they handle rats humanely and locked me into a contract. Rats, birds, and other critters have stumbled around our lawn to die over the period of 48 hours with our dog chomping at the bit to eat them. Came to the conclusion that what aptive is doing is not humane or safe for other creatures. Tried getting out of my contract and they just told me that I should know what i signed up for - terrible customer service. The manager agreed to cancel my contract, hung up on me, then went ahead and billed me anyways. A rat trap is more humane and cheaper. Save the trouble. read more

This review is about eight months too late. BUT its important that I address it. So, we signed up with door-to-door sales man and thought it was a good idea since our whole neighborhood had an ant problem. I tried to sign my parents house as well and was notified that they couldn't because a manager wouldn't approve of it (Tim Hodges). I finally spoke with the manager who said Aptive doesn't service the Des Moines area. I asked him why the company wouldn't want additional business and his response was "we have an algorithm that decides where we service." I asked him to tell me more and he had the audacity to say that the company doesn't service Des Moines because the economic value of the home. So essentially, the company didn't want to service my parent's house because their computer said the homes in Des Moines area aren't valued much and people are less likely to sign up. After telling him that I would be reporting the company to the BBB, he conceded and said that's not what he meant and Aptive was not discriminatory based on socioeconomic status. A couple problems I do have with the company is that they don't ask you when to come for service, but rather assign a day during the week. The technicians have all been great and the sales rep was a nice guy. read more

I have used Aptive for at least five home visits now - I am not sure if their techs are trained but so far, not impressive when it comes to knowledge. Techs ore more the lowest bidder recipients without much pest control knowledge - so far. Aptive is quick to market tot you and quick to collect their charges, but not much real care given when they visit the home. They have never been inside our home, we asked to take care of a rodent issue...left a trap with no bait, not set and no information on what we are now to do. And this ws completely omitted in the visit summary I receive. Be careful here - very poor value for the money paid. read more

"Chase" the salesperson approached my home on 5/30, riding a Segway (weird) and wandering through my neighborhood. I am guessing they use segways to avoid looking suspicious, this makes them maybe look like a kid and will avoid them getting in trouble with the police? Not the type of professional feel I would want to do business with anyway, I prefer to work with adults for my Pest Control needs. be upfront with pricing, when your salespeople lower the price 5-8 times in their pitch it makes it hard to believe anything they say (or that I would be getting any deal at all) -don't be pushy, most people aren't going to like that. I was convinced to sign up without time to research, I discovered in about 20 minutes (after signing up) that your pricing wasn't great and all the other service issues your company seemingly has. This all adds up to - wasted time for all. -please don't lie and tell me that all my neighbors have signed up (they have not). Pushy and dishonest sales tactics may work on a few customers, but the word gets out and has already been spread honestly. If you want success as a company you will have to fix your reputation, be honest and up front about pricing, and have your sale people listen to the needs of your potential customers (not just push and keep lowering prices, that will annoy almost everyone). I was able to cancel the contract by sending an email 30 minutes after the salesperson left my house. I never trust door to door salesmen. What turned me off was a guy in his early twenties, if that, asked for a blank check or my credit card info in order to send a technician out. I told him that was a hard no, especially seeing as though I don't know the effectiveness of the product, never heard of the company, and I could photoshop any badge. No joke, he asked me about twice more for my information as if he didn't hear me. Eventually I had to close the door in his face....with a half second warning of what I was doing, to be nice. Thank God I said no because now I'm seeing all these bad reviews. read more

I have been using them for about a year. I still see ants everywhere every day almost. Someone from the company came to my house(outside the house) while we were at work. So I never really seen any of them working. My neighbor told me that sometimes a guy with long broom walk around my house for about 5 mins. That's all. I don't think they did good job. This company is horrible. The sales practice is very shady. I was told, I would be billed on a monthly basis. This never happen, instead I was billed quarterly for $237.07. Whatever product this company uses for treatment killed my grass. On top of all that when I tried to cancel they wanted to take another $237.07 from me. Buyer Beware!!! P.S. I unfortunately had 3 rounds of services performed and was unhappy with all 3. My requests were never met and it's terribly hard to reschedule a service. Technician didn't even notify that he was here and only sprayed the front. Didn't even to bother to ask us to open the back gate. Takes about 30-40 min of waiting on the phone to even talk to a person. I ended up canceling the service and they charged me $200 to end it. Absolutely terrible. read more

They claimed to have preformed service at my home and no one ever showed up...my son was here and 3 dogs that would have barked if any one was out in the yard...There was no phone call 30 minutes before the service man shows because the was no service man spaying my foundation or yard...i don't like paying for something that i never have gotten....beware of this company it is a scam. read more

I have used Aptive for about 2 years. I developed a problem with weavels in my kitchen & they came to treat them & put out something to stop them from reproducing. The next week they doubled in numbers. I then set up an appointment for them to come back. I canceled all my plans & hunker down at home waiting for them after half a day they called & canceled, inconsiderate of my time. Months later someone just shows up & calls me to tell me he's there. I refused service and 2 days later they took a payment from my checking account. Now mind you, I DO NOT HAVE AUTO-PAY! I consider this theft! I have been back and forth with them for 2 1/2 weeks now & still have yet to receive back my stolen funds. read more

As a college student I work over the summers as a cashier and these "salesmen" were really rude to my coworkers and I when they came to our lines. Then they had the gall to start berating us when their coupons didn't work. You would think that they would be more understanding but I guess not. Would vote zero stars if I could. An Aptive sales rep (Drey) came to our house to get us to sing up as a customer. Normally we don't answer the door for door to door sales. But we were actually trying to find a new pest control company so Drey happened to come at the perfect time. Once we signed up with him, the price he quoted was for one month. I didn't agree to a quarterly contract, although that's what he signed us up for. They sent an email saying we're so for a treatment today and if we needed to reschedule we needed to call their office. I tried to call and was on hold for 20 minutes so I finally hung up. Here it is at almost 6:00pm and no one has shown up yet. I called again to tell them I'll have to reschedule and again was on hold for 20 minutes so I finally hung up again. I'm not happy at all with Drey signing us up with an ongoing contract and I'm not happy with how difficult it is to speak with someone, as you will be put on hold for what seems like forever! Very disappointed! I sent an email and I expect to hear back soon! Otherwise we will cancel our contract. read more

This is the second time during the Covid-19 pandemic that my quarantine has been interrupted by these people. They have no regards to health or safety. This company is a scam. Their sales people lie about what they can do, the neighbors they've signed up and how their contract works. Pests have multiplied since their service. There are also still little plastic balls that they spread on my lawn, no chemical, just little plastic balls. They are also proving difficult to get to cancel. read more

The salesman (kid ... Looked barely 18) just left after knocking on our door in a non-solicitation community. I informed him it was a non-solicit and he argued with me about permits. A permit from the county doesn't give you permission to solicit in a restricted community, but looks like Aptive doesn't care. Are they connected with Mint, because Mint sent a kid a few days ago who looked and sounded a lot like this one and had the same scooter. He had a smart remark about 'this is the 21st century. We don't use paper' when we asked him about mailing us information. Refused to leave a biz card and just kept pushing for our contact info. I'm sure they would be relentless if we were dumb enough to hand that to him. I was done being reasonably polite with him after that remark and shut the door. I know the company trains these poor kids to behave like jerks and to not take no for an answer until they get a door slammed in their face, because he kept right on talking as we shut the door. I hate treating innocent kids like that, but they are so anxious to please the Team Lead and fall so hard for the 'unlimited income opportunity' schtick the company feeds them that we would never get away if we didn't get aggressive in return. Let me guess ... Their manager gets a cruise if their team signs up enough homeowners. Please find another line of work, kid ... It doesn't get much lower than being a door-to-door Sal Salesman.
