Great store. The staff here is both more knowledgeable and friendlier than the staff at other stores (Such as San Francisco Chestnut). Riley did a fantastic job today And my MacBook air now has 82 GB of free space compared with three GB when I brought it in. He saved me from having to purchase a new $2000 machine. Or at least postponed it for a couple of years. My girlfriend and I always have outstanding experiences with this store. read more

Generally, really good service and the Apple people on the floor are very attentive and do their best to help. One star taken away because I've been to this store 3 times in two weeks. Each time, the person who helped me was nice, eager, attentive, but just didn't quite know what they were talking about. Here are a couple examples: I went to buy the newest iTouch the day they were announced by Steve Jobs. The Apple woman who came to help me knew they didn't have any in stock. That was a good thing since she also told me they were available through the mail. But she had absolutely no clue what differentiated the new iTouch from the older models--other than knowing the new 32 gb was $100 cheaper. I had to explain to her that the "Genius" feature was an iTunes software enhancement, she thought it was hardwired on the device. I get my iTouch (I LOVE IT), but it doesn't play in my Universal Dock which I got 3 years ago with my iPod Photo (may it rest in peace). I go back to the Apple Store where they tell me that's what the little plastic insert is for that came WITH my iTouch. What they neglect to tell me is that my Universal Dock is too old to use with the inserts they sent. So I go home, try to make it work, and finally go back a 3rd time. This time I bring the dock and the plastic insert and within seconds the 'concierge' confirms it will never work but has no idea what I should do so has to find someone to help me. I of course already know what to do, buy the new version of a Universal Dock, which included like 4 inserts. It works fine. There, I got that off my chest. read more

This place gets jam packed, but the staff is quick and very helpful. What really blows me away is just how good the customer service is. Every employee with whom I've interacted during my multiple visits there is courteous, patient and I've never felt rushed, even when there is a wait for someone to help me. The management of the store has done a great job in hiring employees who provide a high quality customer service experience. One of my favorite places to shop :) read more

I went to the Apple Store last week to upgrade my ancient iPhone to the new iPhone. I'm technologically challenged when it comes to computers and I am so grateful to have had Larry as my apple rep that day. I needed my iPhone, iTunes and mac air software completely upgraded. This took a long time and Larry did not leave my side. In fact he skipped his lunch break just to ensure that I would be taken care. His professionalism, kindness and dedication was astounding. Thanks for the first class experience, Larry! Anthony read more

was helped by someone named Rachel who was so nice and helpful. Went in for AirPods to replace one and was out super fast with all my questions answered. As I was waiting for the AirPods to charge, she said she was around if I needed anything else (even though they closed in 10 minutes) overall really nice service only downside is AirPod replacement was $70 :( read more

Had another great experience here. I've had to come into the store multiple times over the past couple days, and my experience has been nothing been outstanding. This has been especially due to the wonderful service Logan has offered. I'd say just about everyone I had the pleasure of working with over the past couple of days was great, except for one person who referred me to a computer for my question. If anyone does that to you, just walk to someone else and they will be great. I don't understand why this store does not have five stars. This store has changed dramatically over the past year or two, and it's shameful that it still has to carry some of the 1 star reviews from years ago read more

I just had the best interaction and customer service by a wonderful apple employee named Jan. I'm sorry to say this Apple store has been nice in the past for that reason I came here on 12/4. I had an issue with my iPhone not updating to the latest firmware and my Apple Watch was not functioning properly, so I have decided on this Apple store. Everything was going well when it took longer then they expected while my iPhone was plugged in to their Apple computer. While I was waiting I was approached by one of the employees suggesting I should reschedule. Why? I felt like I was being rushed, but I stood firm on having my devices upload to the latest firmware, watch and iPhone. At this point I helped myself doing all the proper uploads but they continue to rush me "what are you doing?" Remarks as I was pairing my watch with my iPhone. I ignored them till I got all the firmware updated and left on my own without their help. I felt rushed and of course being watched closely from across the table. I noticed other customers not being hounded as I was. I felt mistreated. I'm Hispanic 51 years of age. I just came from the gym so I had on gym wear attire. I guess I didn't look the part to own such a device. Who knows why. read more

I suspect the 5 star reviews for this store are probably shills. My wife and I bought a new iPhone 11 for her, with a old iPhone trade in worth $80. We were very clear that we still needed to transfer the data to the new iPhone. The sales person had to redo the invoice 3 times, he didn't understand we needed to keep the old phone, trading it in later. When I did bring the old phone in, they said it was only worth $70 now. Would have been nice if they mentioned that could happen. As I needed a new iPad, I spoke with Ryan Grant, a manager. I explained the situation. He said purchases are now by appointment only, this is on the Apple website. (I later confirmed this noticed is not present on the product pages of the website.) I wanted to see if the manager would compromize and do the $70 trade in, and an extra $10 off the purchase of a new iPad. He said no, when I asked why he just said he would not do that deal. He said he was done talking, that was it. I've been in the Computer support arena for over 20 years. In my opinion Ryan Grant is not manager material. His conduct was rude and not appropriate for a manager level position. I later spoke with a manager at the Santa Rosa store. That person was absolutely manager material. The Santa Rosa manager knew of Mr. Grant, but could not explain that type of behavior. I will not be doing business at the Corte Madera store ever again. If I have to buy an apple product it will be from Santa Rosa or online. I can see by the ratings here, I am not the only one with this same conclusion. read more

Probably the worst Apple store in the US... I've been an Apple customer for many years, and between business and family purchases, have spent many hours and thousands of dollars in various Apple stores in multiple cities across the US. They're all crowded and hectic, but this one is in a league of its own for awful customer service and all-round arrogance. On a recent visit (my second in 2 weeks, the first having been at such a busy time that I decided to return when it was quieter) the 'greeter'/bouncer at the front instructed me peremptorily to wait at a particular table in order to purchase a new phone. I obediently did so. 20 minutes later, when several others who arrived later than me had been helped, I followed up with him and was told that my name was no longer on the list. He couldn't tell me why ("obviously some mistake"), but promised to put me on 'Priority'. Another 15 mins went by, and still nobody came to help. I returned to the greeter, and asked what was going on. He got very aggressive and said "It's not my problem". I told him I didn't appreciate being kept waiting for so long without explanation or apology. He responded again "Well it's not my problem, what do you want me to do about it?". I said "A simple apology that I was kept waiting so long would be nice". To which he literally rolled his eyes and said "Okay, I'll play this cool. Sorry! Alright?" Word for word, I kid you not. This to a customer. Who is waiting to purchase a highly expensive item. I returned to my assigned table, waited a further 5-10 minutes and when a sales associate finally deigned to approach me, I asked to speak with the manager. She was very pleasant, and seemed sincerely apologetic, but in the nicest possible terms basically told me that "with unemployment in Marin at 1.7% we're really short staffed" and implied that she could not fire anyone or risk disciplining them, so I would not be receiving an apology from the greeter and there was "nothing she could do about it". Needless to say, I declined to purchase a phone there. If I absolutely have to have an iPhone (and regrettably I do, for work) I would rather buy it online from a robot than go through the hell that is Corte Madera's Apple Store. read more

The worst store I have ever been too! The manager is no help and has a very poor attitude. I was checked in to get a new phone for 40 minutes. I had to employees come up to me and ask my name and then continued to walk away and stand around and gossip to other coworkers! The store is not busy at all and the fact they had such poor costumer service and I had to wait 40 minutes and finally complain to get help is complete bs. I would never ever come back to this store and would not recommend. read more

I recently wrote of this place and gave 2 stars. I even tried to edit it and lower two one star. It wouldn't let me so here goes to tell that this is the worst place in the world. They couldn't give a hoot about public service and they use COVID as an excuse. The people outside who are checking your temp etc. are nice and try but once inside you on your own baby. They simply will not give an inch to help people. I won't go into the fact that my husband had died the day before and my daughter pleaded with them to help set up my new iPhone 11pro( because I was trying to deal with all the details that now descended upon me, or that I am about to turn 80,or that they had helped an elderly woman outside while I waited in line for 45 minutes, or that they would not help me set up the phone for over an hour that we tried and begged for help . Now I will say that I called the Apple help line and this was the only way I got the thing working. They were great and they also helped me launch an official complaint to be handled internally and to get in touch with the manager of the store. I have also gotten in touch with Apple Headquarters and am waiting for their big shot to call back. Bottom line is go to a different store -these guys are horrible. read more

I really don't know what to think of this store. I will say that when I bought my I Pad I really needed help in understanding how to use it. It happens that I "am a little (well, not so little) old lady" so I needed much help. I was able to attend 3 sessions of their instructions. However, one complain is that the store is so far from the parking (probably my problem). My last visit to the store for an "air printer" for my IPad, resulted in having to wait for an "assistant" to help me and I was very disappointed that this particular store had no printers in the store to show me - only on- line that they had in the back. The explanation was that they didn't have enough room to show the actual printers. Not good salesmanship. The assistant even suggested going to Best Buy for comparison shopping. I like that they have so many assistants available, but I'm not too sure of their capabilities. I ended up buying a printer elsewhere and will see whether I have made the right choice. The price was better than Apple. I have made the right choice. read more

Went to the store 4 times attempting to restore a microphone on an iPhone 7 that died after downloading the latest update - something I read that seems to be common with the 7 and these updates. Long story short the previous techs that tried to help me were truly "trying" and explained what needed to be done in order for them to restore the phone after I would back it up. Finally after resolving everything I went back hopeful and was assigned Fernando. He basically never tried to do what the original two techs had told me, he basically run a diagnostic that had been done already and just said that it was the hardware - both the other two told me that in order to see if indeed it was the software or the hardware they had to restore it. They had done the software restoring and this visit was supposed to be for the hardware restoring since I was finally able to back up the phone. Long story short without even trying he just said that it was the hardware and that I needed to buy a new phone which I could not do because this is a company phone anyway. How disappointing it was after all the time I lost back and forth to be turned over to a s.p. which also did a terrible job trying to sell me a new phone. All the trust I had in Apple vanished in 15 minutes. It all depends who you get and it's not fair to those who really and genuinely try to help you. What a shame. read more

The absolute best consumer service I've ever had at Apple. Jan went above and beyond to help me set my phone up.

Went to the Genuis Bar with my 27 inch 3 year old iMac, which was falling asleep for no reason. "Sean" was my Genius IT guy. My questions took longer to answer than it took him to figure out that two heat sensors were culprit and they were shutting down the computer as a protection mode. PC/Windows people can only dream that they could walk into a repair place and have someone diagnose their problem in 5 minutes. I feel bad for the kids that have to work at the Microsoft store in the same mall. It must be humiliating. This is the second time I have gone to this store for a repair and they are really excellent. Sean is a little better than the rest. He is very smart and he can multi-task very well. read more

The culture of the staff at this store just gets worse and worse. Upon entering the store I was greeted and asked what they could help with (I was creating an iCloud account in advance of buying a new phone) and as I began to speak another staffer interrupted without an apology with a question for the greeter. I mentioned that seemed inappropriate and the reply was "We're very busy." Then, when needing to set up a Genius Bar appointment I took a time slot for two days later and was promptly ignored when someone else asked a question. I left. Then I never received a confirmation email so I called AppleCare and they confirmed no such appointment was made. Had I not called I would have taken the time to go there for no reason. I reported the incident to Apple but the fact that it happened is what matters. Maybe this is now acceptable but not to me, especially when spending more costly dollars for devices. read more

This place is always so hectic. I really don't like coming in because of the swarms of people but when I have had to come in and didn't have an appointment, I have to say that they were really nice! Yes I had to wait a little while but once I got help, they were fantastic and helped me out, fixed my MacBook or iPhone and I was happily on my way. I walked in at opening time on a Saturday morning. The man greeting was very kind and handed me off to a sales associate. I told him I was interested in getting daughter an IPad for Christmas. I needed info on which iPad was new and updated. I was interested in the mini one to start off so we walked over to check them out. Robert gave me some info on each iPad but when I asked him about the mini or another IPad he stopped me and told me that I had interrupted him. I was taken back and honestly, appalled. I felt bad! I didn't think I interrupted but he made it very clear. So, in shock, I let him speak....he was also going on about iPads that I wasn't interested in. So when he was done with his pitch, I went to ask him a question on why there were home buttons on some iPads and such and he again stopped me and said he wasn't done explaining...I again am totally caught off guard. I am in sales as well and I was shocked when he had a condescending attitude toward me. I was ready to buy an iPad that day but because of his demeanor and attitude toward me asking simple questions, I left. I was very annoyed and quite honestly I don't want to go back to that store and deal with him or feel like I'm doing something wrong by asking questions. This a $500 deal and I don't need someone having a crap attitude toward me when I have a lot of respect for everyone and especially those helping me in a sale. No thanks. I will be getting my iPad elsewhere. read more

This place is terrible. It doesn't give a whit about customers. I showed up for my reservation on Feb 1 to replace the batteries on my two iPhones. I was told it would take a couple of days for them to be restocked. After two weeks, I called the store and was transferred to Apple Support. They apologized that I hadn't heard from the store and set up a phone appointment for today, Feb 20, at noon. It's now 12:53 and, of course, no one called. I called the store and was again transferred to Apple Support. They say the batteries might be in sometime in early March. I'm supposed to call them if I don't hear from them. Would I buy an Apple product after this experience? No way. read more

Drove from S.F. to Marin early to beat commute traffic before meeting other people, so had time to kill. Stopped into the Apple Store in Corte Madera to play with the iPad that I'll eventually buy--probably after it's revised early next year. The store was very busy, but there was no line to try out iPads, so I enjoyed using an iPad for nearly an hour. Store personnel were all very friendly and answered questions as I thought to ask them. Even if I'd wanted to buy an iPad, the store was sold out, so obviously there was no sales pressure. I give this store 5 stars for its convenience, inviting look and feel, and a staff of cordial people who know their products and believe in them. read more

I just bought my second Macbook in 3.5 years at this store. My experience buying my first Mac in 2009 in this store was better than I expected; I always thought I'd buy a Mac online but going to this lovely store in the Village was too easy to resist. This store has about a 3:1 employee to customer ratio...I don't know when I've seen anything like it, and I've been in plenty of Apple Stores since 2009. I had a check up at no charge at the 'genuis bar' after 2 years and it was easy to book an appointment online. This past week I had to buy a new Mac due to water damage. I was able to make an appointment on the phone and then went in 2 days early at the advice of the person I spoke with on the phone; she said it might be worth the wait to come in without an appointment. I waited only 10 minutes; I was lucky. This store is always full of customers. I was immediately assigned to a salesperson named Nesto who was patient and a good listener and not pushy....Macs kind of sell themselves and their employees are trained to listen for what you say you think you need and then give you options. I like. After I picked up my new Macbook Pro I remembered that I had left the power cord to my old, water-damaged Macbook with the technicians because I assumed I wouldn't need it anymore. But, I did need it in the end and called them back and asked them if they could find it, or a used one on hand. Buying another one will set up back about 50-60 bucks. 'Anthony S.' asked me to wait and checked with his manager and told me if I came in right away, they could get one for me. When I arrived and said his name, as he advised, he wasn't in the store but they knew about my situation. I was presented with an almost new cord with no questions asked, no hassle, no interrogation, just good old-fashioned excellent, USA-style customer service. I was impressed and will continue to buy my Macs at this store. read more

A despicable thing happened. My ex did something really terrible when she realized that she could access my contacts through my daughter's phone because she and I were sharing the same Apple ID. So I had to wipe her phone. To make this up to my daughter I went and told the Apple Store clerk that I needed a card so my daughter could recreate all her apps and music on her phone. I explained that my daughter was 3000 miles away and that this was extremely important that it happen properly. I had $150 in iTune's cards and the clerk told me instead that I needed an Apple Store card which I then bought. 7 hours later, my daughter messages me to tell me that the card is no good. So I call the store, which has just closed. No problem, the on line person can fix this right? Wrong. Retail store cards are non-transferable and non-refundable. So. they won't let me take it back and the only way to fix it is to buy another $150 iTunes card. This is an EPIC FAIL on Apple's part. They can tell me the value of the card on line, they can let me buy some stuff on line, they will sell me an iTune's card on line. They will not, however, under any circumstances (even after waiting 30 minutes and talking to a "manager" named "Marcos") let me by an iTunes card with an Apple card. read more

This is a difficult store. The people all try to be nice, but they also have a sense of arrogance that prevents them from listening sometimes. Also, they have so many customers all the time that the demands on them are rather large. The store needs to be bigger as there are multitudes of MAC users, iPhone users, Apple Watch users, and the like in Marin County. They have too many employees for the size of the store but they need all the employees to deal with the customers. It's a problem. I have had good and bad experiences there in equal measure. I have to go there because I use my Mac all day long and need it to work well. I think knowing what to expect in terms of getting help when you enter the store is very useful. Patience is probably the best tool you can bring along and, if you do, you will likely be well served. read more

I was at the store on October 3 and the staff there said it was an average day of business. I waited 10 -15 minutes in line and was greeted by one of the staff who heard what my purchasing plan was and transferred me to another staff and she was very helpful. I went through the purchasing process and then I was handed off to another staff who help me exchange my old phone for a new phone. I think this interaction was less than satisfactory as she had a hard time relating to why I didn't want to purchase the Newest and most expensive phone. There was a significant the delay in getting the new phone up and running and transferring over my contacts and notes etc. Because of the delay I went had lunch and then came back and it still wasn't completed so then I went out again and shopped and then came back a second time. The gentleman who took over my case on the second occasion was impatient and frustrated, and The interaction was disappointing. The real reason I wrote this was what I witnessed in the store while waiting. There was an older woman sitting on a stool, and hanging onto a walker, waiting. She tried to get the attention of several staff, and was unsuccessful. A younger staff person with a beanie stopped to talk with her and was very impatient and rude to her. WARNING!!! DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE!!!! THEY SCAM!!!!!!!!! I brought in my iPhone 6 due to a cracked screen. Unfortunately the store closest to me didn't have anymore appointments the day of, so I decided to drive an hour out of my way just so that I could get my phone fixed. I arrive at the Corte Madera store, and it is totally packed. Staff stand around lazily surveying the scene as shoppers play with the newest gadgets. I walked in and was approached by a woman wearing a dark blue shirt with no name tag (Apple this is weird by the way, bring the name tags back) and she checked me in on her iPad. I was then directed to the "Genius" table where I waited......and I waited....I swear it was about 20 minutes past my appointed time before a man came over to help me. He took one look at my phone and whisked it away to the back to have another associate assess the damage of the cracked screen. After maybe two minutes at the most, the guy comes back out with my phone, and then tells me that instead of needing a screen replacement, I will need to purchase an entirely new phone due to it having a "bend." Then to emphasize his point, he placed my phone on the table screen up, and pressed down on a corner showing the phone didn't lie flat. I then pointed out the fact that the camera protrudes out of the back and in no way did/would the phone ever lay flat (for reference, I own the Iphone 6). He brushed my comment off and insisted there was a bend in the phone. I angrily left, I couldn't believe what they were saying because it was very clear that this was a scam. After driving an hour home, I decided on a whim to stop by my local mall Apple Store, and I was immediately helped as I explained the situation. A friendly staff member took one look at my phone and was shocked that the man had said my phone had a bend. Yes, you heard that right folks, another Apple Store was shocked!!! He said he had been repairing phones for over 7 years, and in no way was my phone even close to what would be considered "bent." He then took my phone to the back and ran it through their calibrater machine. This machine determines any damages to the phone, and if the phone passes through machine inspection, the phone is then repaired by said machine. When the man was running the diagnostics, he told me the only way to be sure a phone is not repairable is by allowing the machine to run tests which take a minimum of 30 minutes. A device must be run through the machine, because a visual human diagnostic can be very unreliable. The fact that the man from Corte Madera took my phone to the back for a few minutes and then came back and told me I needed a replacement-there was no possible way he had time to run my phone through the calibrator machine! I returned back to the Apple Store to recover a fully functional, brand new screen on my phone. At $109 later, which I was happy to pay after being told by the Corte Madera location that I would need to buy a completely new phone! Needless to say, PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS LOCATION! I have been looking through the Yelp reviews from the store and I have noticed a trend with cracked phones being supposedly "bent." I will be taking this up with the manager as well as customer service, but what scammers!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Really obnoxious staff. I went in to the store ready to buy a $2500 Mac Book Pro. I was approached by an overweight blonde with frizzy hair. I said I wasn't interested in training, I just wanted to know if my files could be transferred. Her response? 'Let me finish.' I love Apple Products. I am a Mac-ie for sure BUT this particular store is wiiiiiiigggity wack. Lemme lay it out for ya... I bought my mac notebook last year from this store. I missed the deal where you get a free iPod touch with your new notebook but I did get a free printer, cha-ching! That experience was fine, I would give that visit a B/B-? 4 months later, my battery on my brand new laptop dies. And not like, oh just plug it back in and it'll come back to life. No, like Tupac dead. No matter how much you wanna believe it's still alive, it's really just dead. So, I mosey on into the Apple store. Because I'm intelligent, I made an appointment. And I STILL had to wait about 20-30 minutes. Whatever, not a big deal. I finally get to approach the Apple Genius counter and I explain my problem... "Okay, would you like us to backup your computer for you so you won't lose any data?" "Oh, yes please!" "Okay, your computer will be ready in about a week, we'll call you." "Great" A week later, ring ring... "So during repairing your computer the left speaker was damaged." "Okay?" "It will be about another week." A week later, ring ring...
