On some school e-waste collection events, they even wanted to charge me $10 or $20 for bringing them the junks...no thank you. I was paid $0.35/lb for computers (59 lb) and $0.11/lb for the TV (44 lb). I collect a bit over $25 for the e-waste, which is pretty good. Actually, I brought in two 40 inch LCD TVs and another customer at the parking lot asked to purchase one TV for $10 thinking of trying to repair it. Overall, it's a great experience. Customer service was quick and friendly.

Not only was he cursing at me, but he also called me a "dick," which is completely unacceptable behavior for someone running a business. To make matters worse, I was instructed to unload and move my own pallet of batteries for recycling. After I had already done the work, I was suddenly told I couldn't continue because I was wearing Birkenstocks. If that was actually a safety policy, one of the employees could have easily told me before I started unloading instead of waiting until I was finished. When I was told I had to wait in my car, I simply walked over to my vehicle, and the owner continued insulting me by calling me a "dick" as I left. Customer service and basic professionalism were completely absent. There are plenty of other recycling businesses that treat their customers with respect. I would definitely recommend taking your business elsewhere.

I scheduled the appointment, which was rescheduled due to the job that day needing more time which was fine. They rescheduled me for a day and time that was convenient for me and my husband. The day of service, the truck arrived at the top of the appointment window block,two very kind hard working representatives showed up ready to go. My husband and I pointed at what we wanted removed from the attic, guest walk in closet, entryway area, and the garage. We filled up almost half a truck of things that couldn't be donated. Like that really cool electric stand up desk my old tech company bought for my home office that broke. My experience with junk king was a positive, fast, effortless appointment. My feedback: other companies sweep the areas they decluttered. I really like that. It feels complete. Otherwise, they get a fiver. This kind of work is tough and I appreciate the help. Sure we can go to the dump for less. What about the bigger pieces like the furniture? That won't fit in our BMW sedan or my little Porche (laughing) You know you have stuff you need to get out of your space, today is a good day to do it. I believe in you.

It's really easy saying your a charitable person like donating computers to school, but your charity is pretty selective when it comes to bums off the street, sorry your right what have I done for you lately Tony? That was a long time ago when I have a garbage renew bottom line used office computer filled with viruses before it ever reached my hands - and I was completely ignorant on how to fix computers - having to beg for this scumbags help for the windows boot disc. Long story short Tony - I got about 30 bitcoin mining rigs and servers of my mine that I all run and maintain myself on an elaborate home network - none of which was built with an oz of renew garbage. read more

It just doesn't get any better than Renew Computers. Here in Marin County, many well-off citizens donate perfectly good equipment to Renew simply because they are upgrading, and donating to Renew is convenient, and ecologically sound. The prices are simply the best, especially for older technology/"vintage" equipment, in addition to newer equipment, if you're willing to put the time in to look for what you want, and accessories for all generations of computer, audio, and video equipment. The folks in service consistently go the extra mile, as other reviewers have noted in their own words, and I want to especially laude Devin, Al, and Eric: they are unfailingly courteous and kind, knowledgeable and professional. I bought my first refurbished computer system from Renew way back in 1998 and I've not since bought a brand new computer. Think of the depreciation on a new computer - you think it's bad on a new car? Renew's 90-day warranty on all computer systems and their extremely reasonable prices were the things that first caught my eye - and boy do they follow through. Beware, beware, beware! I took an older ibm laptop in for a memory upgrade and the motherboard fails. What a coincidence, after a decade of working good, a motherboard failure at the shop? What are the odds? These are hucksters at best; one cannot see, another lies and they all seem to be members of a cult that worships money. Renew computers takes all the little electronic odds and ends I have lying around. I don't have to fell guilty throwing them out, because I know that, if they can be reused (or if any of their broken down components can be used), they will get to where they need to go.
