I'm so disapponted with Apple! I've been a great customer and pretty much buy everything with an apple on it. You could call me a junky. I have paid $100 for a one to one card ever since they introduced it. Mine expired because of personal family reasons so today I went in to renew and found the only way this really good customer could have a card is to buy a new computer! If my card had not expired I could have renewed the service. I was never noticed of the change in policy. I'm not sure I will ever buy Apple product again. WATCH OUT! My mac mini problem was mis-diagnosed but they wanted to charge me anyways for the repair. My hard drive was replaced without verifying I had back up and all my data was lost and they destroyed the old hard drive so there was nothing I could extract the data from. This ineptitude has cost me well over $1,000 Staff was defensive, there is no real personal connection with you as an individual. Shockingly horrible service from Apple Corte Madera today. My partners iPhone suddenly broke so we went to Apple Corte Madera hoping to quickly buy a new phone. Note - we did not need any help setting it up, just simply wanted to purchase and be on our way. ~10 employees were standing outside, 10 more in the store at 11am when the store opened. Employee to customer ratio was 7:1 - if I'm being generous. We approached the store as it opened in the morning without an appointment and were told to talk to two guys about booking a shopping appointment. After waiting for them to finish talking with each other (not helping a customer) they rudely told us we need to book an appointment to quickly buy an iPhone and they don't have any time until tomorrow. When we asked if they could book it for us - they looked at us like we were dumb and said no. Reminder - the iPhone is broken so we cannot access Apple website to book. By the time we got to a device to book on our own, all appointments were booked until later in the week. Just horrible service from Apple all around - from the shopping process to the employees' attitude. If you need a new phone - suggest going to provider directly to avoid putting up with inefficiency and rudeness. read more

I'd pick zero if that's an option. Just need to get the battery changed on iPhone 6. The first time was to fill out "paperwork". Went back the 2nd time after I received the notice of the arrival of the "part". I was notified to go in without any mentioning of time limitations. I got there after 6 pm. Even though the store doesn't close until 8 pm, they said that it was too late. I asked that if I come again, could the same thing happen again. They said possibly yes. I asked to make an appointment to avoid wasting another trip. I was told that an appointment wouldn't make a difference. I still have to try my luck. Omg! Can they make it any more difficult? I spent more than 5 hours, and 3 visits In the store this week, trying to resolve my issue...only to be continually disappointed. Finally, they agreed to swap out my phone, but discovered that there was no other phone in stock that matched the previous phones specifications. So now I must wait until "sometime next week" to swap out the phone. Because this issue is affecting the data and wireless usage on the phone, I am being charged overage fees for the data plan on my monthly bill. This issue with my phone has resulted in $45 in overages this month, and we will continue to be charged more and more until the phone is swapped out. I am extremely unhappy with Apples lack of urgency in this matter, I wish that I could take my business elsewhere, but now I am locked into a two year contract. read more

It has been a long, long time since I was impressed with customer service in any capacity. Like all of us, the majority of my experiences with "customer service" have sucked a large, steaming turd. ( ex Wells Fargo) This, however was the glaring exception. I walked in and was greeted by HOARDS of customers. This is going to be a geek-filled nightmare, right ? Wrong. Yes, there were people everywhere but what do you want ? This is the only Apple store in Marin and the only one from Petaluma to SF. ( stupid move on Apple's part by the way.) The impressive part? There were about 25-30 Apple employees waiting to help and in a word they were "fantastic". I admit I was cranky, because I had ordered a skin for my new Iphone from an online dealer that sucked. ( hence my trip to Apple) I was approached within two minutes and asked if I needed help. Sure, he stared at my cleavage the whole time but if I have to carry these things around, I might as well get something for it. lol I bought a protection screen and shell. The screen was a bi-hitch to put on. I was so frustrated. Another employee replaced the one I had been trying with ( it was full of dust :/) and spent fifteen minutes putting the new one on my phone perfectly. He then answered my questions about my new phone and was very knowledgeable. It takes a LOT to impress me. I worked in retail management for years and I know good customer service when I see it. Not a complaint about the Corte Madera store, but of the Apple Watch. My screen cracked, the store sent it in for evaluation, and they claim there was sign of an impact. I can't argue with that, but of all the watches I've ever owned this was (a) more than 10 times the price of the others and (b) the only time I've ever damaged a watch glass apart from scratches. The "repair" cost is $289 and even with AppleCare it's about $70. The lesson is don't buy an Apple Watch if you lead an active life. Carrying a $400 status symbol on your wrist is for the sedentary and the self obsessed. You know who you are! read more

I purchased my first Apple product two weeks ago - an iPad2. I dropped it (!) hard and it skidded across the asphalt and landed face down - magnetic cover off. OUCH! Ran to the Apple Store. This is really more of a criticism on the computer than the store, but it's the only place I know to leave a review. I changed from a three year old PC to a new MacBook Pro, and I've been having so many problems with it after three weeks that I've had to be on apple support almost every day. All I run is microsoft office, adobe acrobat, and chrome and the computer completely freezes at least ten times a day. Apple support keeps giving me time consuming tips on how to speed things up but it never helps. I wish I stayed with my old PC. For all its problems it was still light years faster than my current mac, and half the price. read more

I was really put off by the treatment I got here, but after reading some of the negative reviews, I think I know why. Yes, this is a rather upscale mall (nordstrom, a anthropologie, no louis vuitton or cartier territory here) but certainly plenty of nice places to shop. This morning, I came to the store today to buy an iPhone X 264gb (it was a early morning drive from Sacramento, after my 64gb X turned out to be inadequate storage i had no choice- this was the only store that had one, it was either wait without a phone for several weeks). I got my phone, but not without some pretty creepy, aloof help that was a bit more than rude. A man named Ray, late 30s, beard, caucasian, 6'2ish was definitely the rudest customer service i've ever experienced at any apple store in sacramento la or elsewhere. It started with a really terse tone, then when making conversation during the 15 minute or so transaction i got this gut feeling it was something about me that bothered him. Either that or he's just a jerk. I dont think it was because I am a gay guy I'm not pulling that card in 2017. Maybe it was that all i did was shower with very plain clothes and a ratty sweatshirt showing up right before 10 from sac. Anyway. I made conversation like "its hard to believe the x is so in demand this is the only store that had it this morning". He looks at me from the side of his face & says "why?". Woah. Okay. He made the transaction & served his purpose dont get me wrong but with all the charm of an encarcerated convict. At EVERY other apple store I've been to, customer service has been the best anywhere. Smooth, friendly, skilled people who are downright impressive at what they do. And this one was an a$$hole. At the end of the transaction, i used my typical manners after swiping my card for tax & taking my new phone thank you this way or that, and casually went to shake his hand & he stood there, without shaking my hand like a snooty sommelier on the right bank of Paris who Hates tourists. That was when i really got the feeling it was something about me specifically. Thats how it intuitively felt at the moment. Either way, this is really uncharacteristic of any experience I've ever had at apple, & I dont think I'll be back at this particular store unless I have to. Maybe Marin people, and the social climate they live in, is so affluent and staid that I was merely showered in ratty clothing because I had to come here from sacramento and be here by 9:30am. The customer service I had here might have reflected that. I've been to the ritz carlton kapalua and they would never. South coast plaza at stores like gucci or louis vuitton where i got my keepall 55? friendly people to me. this was daft and rude. whatever his problem was i am not ever dealing with this place again. furthermore, I emailed the store to complain, and I received an automated survey to fill out rather than any sort of management responding to me at all. SO. Basically a store where things cost thousands of dollars, even when you're a paying customer, with customer/management service akin to walmart. totally my experience. read more

Let me start by saying how much I wanted to like the customer service at the Apple Store. The people there are so nice, and I always walk away feeling great about it, but then I get home and discover there were some SERIOUS ERRORS that occurred. My first experience was a repair on my macbook. I took it in and spent a flat rate fee of $300 to replace everything wrong with it. This would have been a good price, except when I get it back 2 weeks later it won't even power up. Of course they take it back to repair it free of charge. Well, I get it back two weeks later and it works great for a total of 31 days. On the 31st day it, once again, won't even power up. Did I mention that the warranty expired on the 30th day? Round two. I go back to buy a new computer to replace the one I spent $300 dollars not to fix. I ask for the base model macbook pro retina. The sales clerk confidently sells me my computer and I feel great about. Well, I get home, look at the receipt they emailed me and realize that my computer is not, in fact, the base model. It's the one step up so I am out an extra $200. Of course, I'll be returning the computer. We'll see if things go better on round 3. read more

I just had the best apple store experience ever. I went in to get my battery replaced thinking that since my phone was a couple years old and the battery was draining quickly that that must be the problem. I was greeted by two friendly people at the front and referred to Josh. Josh and Austin ran a test on my phone and were both so friendly and helpful. They let me know it wasn't my battery but actually the way I was using the phone and the apps running in the background. I didn't end up having to wait for a genius bar appointment and was able to walk out much more knowledgable about my phone and the battery in it. I have literally never had such a good experience in an apple store and I will tell everyone I know to come to this store if they have any problems. Can't thank Josh and Austin enough for all of their help today!! read more

I agree with another recent reviewer. Customer service is really poor. Friendly nice welcoming person at the door, but the tech person that "helped" us was rude and talked down to us and then vanished. Apparently she didn't like that I was questioning what I was being told. I actually did my research before coming in. Ultimately Apple was no help so back to the drawing board AND after another google search we actually found a solution. We needed to remove a forgotten restrictions passcode. Apple should have a way for you to be in store with proper credentials and remove it. Lame they don't, lamer that the customer service at this location is so rude. I am disappointed with their "Genius" customer service for a replacement for my i-pad under Apple-care. After I checked in for my appointment, I waited for half an hour to find out it was cancelled by mistake. I have been in the store twice to pick the replacement up after receiving an email notification and a phone call that I returned to ensure my order was in place. "By mistake" the orders have been cancelled. I asked to discuss the matter with the store manager as the "Genius" told me he couldn't make an i-pad appear to me. I am waiting for the manager's phone call for the replacement, let's see how long before I learn she was the manger" by mistake". Isn't that "Genius"? read more

People that work here are very friendly. No complaints as far as personnel goes. Main complaint is that this Apple store is ALWAYS packed. Doesn't matter what time or day of the week you go in. If you're looking for a walk in appointment prepare to wait at least an hour. If you plan on making an appointment in advance, plan on earliest time slot being 5 days away minimum. read more

I suspect the 5 star reviews for this store are probably shills. My wife and I bought a new iPhone 11 for her, with a old iPhone trade in worth $80. We were very clear that we still needed to transfer the data to the new iPhone. The sales person had to redo the invoice 3 times, he didn't understand we needed to keep the old phone, trading it in later. When I did bring the old phone in, they said it was only worth $70 now. Would have been nice if they mentioned that could happen. As I needed a new iPad, I spoke with Ryan Grant, a manager. I explained the situation. He said purchases are now by appointment only, this is on the Apple website. (I later confirmed this noticed is not present on the product pages of the website.) I wanted to see if the manager would compromize and do the $70 trade in, and an extra $10 off the purchase of a new iPad. He said no, when I asked why he just said he would not do that deal. He said he was done talking, that was it. I've been in the Computer support arena for over 20 years. In my opinion Ryan Grant is not manager material. His conduct was rude and not appropriate for a manager level position. I later spoke with a manager at the Santa Rosa store. That person was absolutely manager material. The Santa Rosa manager knew of Mr. Grant, but could not explain that type of behavior. I will not be doing business at the Corte Madera store ever again. If I have to buy an apple product it will be from Santa Rosa or online. I can see by the ratings here, I am not the only one with this same conclusion. read more

I'm sorry to say this Apple store has been nice in the past for that reason I came here on 12/4. I had an issue with my iPhone not updating to the latest firmware and my Apple Watch was not functioning properly, so I have decided on this Apple store. Everything was going well when it took longer then they expected while my iPhone was plugged in to their Apple computer. While I was waiting I was approached by one of the employees suggesting I should reschedule. Why? I felt like I was being rushed, but I stood firm on having my devices upload to the latest firmware, watch and iPhone. At this point I helped myself doing all the proper uploads but they continue to rush me "what are you doing?" Remarks as I was pairing my watch with my iPhone. I ignored them till I got all the firmware updated and left on my own without their help. I felt rushed and of course being watched closely from across the table. I noticed other customers not being hounded as I was. I felt mistreated. I'm Hispanic 51 years of age. I just came from the gym so I had on gym wear attire. I guess I didn't look the part to own such a device. Who knows why. read more

Probably the worst Apple store in the US... I've been an Apple customer for many years, and between business and family purchases, have spent many hours and thousands of dollars in various Apple stores in multiple cities across the US. They're all crowded and hectic, but this one is in a league of its own for awful customer service and all-round arrogance. On a recent visit (my second in 2 weeks, the first having been at such a busy time that I decided to return when it was quieter) the 'greeter'/bouncer at the front instructed me peremptorily to wait at a particular table in order to purchase a new phone. I obediently did so. 20 minutes later, when several others who arrived later than me had been helped, I followed up with him and was told that my name was no longer on the list. He couldn't tell me why ("obviously some mistake"), but promised to put me on 'Priority'. Another 15 mins went by, and still nobody came to help. I returned to the greeter, and asked what was going on. He got very aggressive and said "It's not my problem". I told him I didn't appreciate being kept waiting for so long without explanation or apology. He responded again "Well it's not my problem, what do you want me to do about it?". I said "A simple apology that I was kept waiting so long would be nice". To which he literally rolled his eyes and said "Okay, I'll play this cool. Sorry! Alright?" Word for word, I kid you not. This to a customer. Who is waiting to purchase a highly expensive item. I returned to my assigned table, waited a further 5-10 minutes and when a sales associate finally deigned to approach me, I asked to speak with the manager. She was very pleasant, and seemed sincerely apologetic, but in the nicest possible terms basically told me that "with unemployment in Marin at 1.7% we're really short staffed" and implied that she could not fire anyone or risk disciplining them, so I would not be receiving an apology from the greeter and there was "nothing she could do about it". Needless to say, I declined to purchase a phone there. If I absolutely have to have an iPhone (and regrettably I do, for work) I would rather buy it online from a robot than go through the hell that is Corte Madera's Apple Store. read more

Went in on Saturday around 6 to buy an iPhone, and almost did not go in - it was wall to wall people - then we realized the iPad had come out that day (duh). We hesitantly ventured in anyway, and were greeted right away and sent in the correct direction. Juan helped us, and I swear - we were in and out in 10 minutes (this includes my inane questions as well). Juan could not have been more friendly or helpful, even with the countless customers talking about only the iPad. I recently wrote of this place and gave 2 stars. I even tried to edit it and lower two one star. It wouldn't let me so here goes to tell that this is the worst place in the world. They couldn't give a hoot about public service and they use COVID as an excuse. The people outside who are checking your temp etc. are nice and try but once inside you on your own baby. They simply will not give an inch to help people. I won't go into the fact that my husband had died the day before and my daughter pleaded with them to help set up my new iPhone 11pro( because I was trying to deal with all the details that now descended upon me, or that I am about to turn 80,or that they had helped an elderly woman outside while I waited in line for 45 minutes, or that they would not help me set up the phone for over an hour that we tried and begged for help . Now I will say that I called the Apple help line and this was the only way I got the thing working. They were great and they also helped me launch an official complaint to be handled internally and to get in touch with the manager of the store. I have also gotten in touch with Apple Headquarters and am waiting for their big shot to call back. Bottom line is go to a different store -these guys are horrible. read more

The worst store I have ever been too! The manager is no help and has a very poor attitude. I was checked in to get a new phone for 40 minutes. I had to employees come up to me and ask my name and then continued to walk away and stand around and gossip to other coworkers! Went to the store 4 times attempting to restore a microphone on an iPhone 7 that died after downloading the latest update - something I read that seems to be common with the 7 and these updates. Long story short the previous techs that tried to help me were truly "trying" and explained what needed to be done in order for them to restore the phone after I would back it up. Finally after resolving everything I went back hopeful and was assigned Fernando. He basically never tried to do what the original two techs had told me, he basically run a diagnostic that had been done already and just said that it was the hardware - both the other two told me that in order to see if indeed it was the software or the hardware they had to restore it. They had done the software restoring and this visit was supposed to be for the hardware restoring since I was finally able to back up the phone. Long story short without even trying he just said that it was the hardware and that I needed to buy a new phone which I could not do because this is a company phone anyway. How disappointing it was after all the time I lost back and forth to be turned over to a s.p. which also did a terrible job trying to sell me a new phone. All the trust I had in Apple vanished in 15 minutes. It all depends who you get and it's not fair to those who really and genuinely try to help you. What a shame. read more
