I went with my wife and oldest son since they were both looking to upgrade their Apple iPhones with newer models. Neither were interested in the newest iPhone 17, but they wanted to find-out about some of the other models that matched their interests. The Apple Team Member who was assisting them was very patient and provided his input. He even mentioned that the new iPhone 18 will be released in a few months. This is a popular and busy store. There were people constantly coming-in and out while we were there. The patience the staff have is admirable. By the time we left, over 3 hours had passed. I decided to grab a seat on the couches outside the store, which I'm happy I did. The Apple Team Member helped my wife and son set-up their new iPhones. I had to wait maybe 20 mins before being seen as I was a walk in. Came in because my front FaceTime camera wasn't working. However my front camera worked to take photos. It was super confusing. I exhausted every setting, reset, restart that apple online support told me to do. I came in, waited and Cameron helped me. He was amazing! He took all the same measures I did to see if it drives the issue, but nothing worked. He even showed it to other coworkers because they've never seen this issue. He then made me aware I'd have to leave my phone and I might have to pick up on a few days, however that wasn't going to work for me. Living in the valley and having to get back and fourth, so he told me to give him before closing (this was around 730pm so closing was coming up) He said come back 15 mins before closing and it should hopefully be done. My experience at the Pleasant Apple Store was really frustrating. I was told when I entered that I would have to wait half an hour, but I waited for over two hours and no one responded or helped me. When I finally asked about the delay, I was told I would have to wait another 40 minutes. Meanwhile, I watched several customers who arrived after me get assisted and leave. No clear explanation, no apology, and no order in customer service. It felt chaotic and very unfair. If there was a reason for the delay or some customers had appointments, they should have been informed in advance. I came to this store expecting Apple level service, efficient, professional, and respectful, but this store did none of that. I ended up leaving without any help and I don't plan to come back. Hard to believe this Apple location and the one in Walnut Creek are owned by the same company. To start with there are no greeters anywhere to be found. We spent 10 minutes wandering around a packed Apple store simply looking for an employee who could put us on the help list. We ended up in the online order pickup line and obtained a spot. From the time we arrived until the time we left was a "wonderful" 60 minutes. Unfortunately the gentleman who helped me couldn't explain why my phone stopped doing something it was doing since I got it other than to advise link it to my cloud account. One tip, make an appointment online before you head over. Our appointment was for 3:40, arrived 10 minutes early to a sea of customers all over the store. They checked us in and asked us to take a seat on cubes that were clustered around in a specific area. Within 10 minutes a nice gentleman came to ask how he can help. I hadn't been inside this mall in a long time. I had time to walk around the mall three separate times as my husband waited to hear what the next step was to resolve our problem. Overall, we were passed over to three employees. All very kind, engaged and ready to help. Christian was the third and he was extremely patient and tried all kinds of things but to no avail. Although I have outgrown my desire to have the newest mobile device (in my early 20's I would carrier-hop just to have the newest device), I like to upgrade my iPhone every 3-4 years to take advantage of the refined cameras. After watching Apple's unveiling of the iPhone 15 Pro Max (am I the only one that still gets excited for their keynote presentations), I was sold on purchasing the phone upon release. The day of the release, I hopped on Apple's website and was able to secure two titanium black iPhone 15 Pro Maxes. Unfortunately, our local Apple Store (Arden) did not have them for on-store pickup; therefore, I purchased them from the store in Pleasanton for next day pickup. Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by a friendly employee named Branden. Branden immediately scanned my order confirmation barcodes and informed me that an employee would be bringing the phones out shortly. While waiting, Branden asked me if I needed any accessories, specifically a new power cube (since the new iPhone now use a usb-c charger that is not packaged with the phone). He also informed me that Apple has free workshops that families can attend (we plan on booking sessions for the iPhone photography and the videography workshops). Two minutes later a friendly employee by the name of Steven, greeted me and handed over the phones. Although I wouldn't quite call myself an Apple fanboy (although I could never see myself going back to Android devices), I am a huge fan of their streamlined and efficient products + customer service practices. Booking appointments online for the Genius Bar is pretty easy. I recommend them because they don't always take drop-ins if they are busy, which is hard to predict. I had brought in my 8 year old MacBook that I hadn't touched I years and wouldn't turn on. Quick checkin process and was walked through the troubleshooting steps (which is so nice cause I can learn from it) They ended up checking it in to work on since it required a few more hours, and called me once completed same day! My pickup experience was fine here-- not great and not terrible. The main gripe I have is the unprofessional treatment of my service dog. HOW PICKUP WENT: I ordered online for pickup. It took about two weeks to be ready. It's weird that there's no desk for pickup or help or any kind. The employees just roam and if you look confused, somebody will eventually ask you if you need help. No signs like "pick up orders here" or "find an employee at x location for pickup". They scanned my QR in the middle of the store and told me to just loiter there while they got it for me. I can imagine this being really confusing for older customers. I think the only reason I was approached so fast is because I was accompanied by a dog, which brings me to: THE DISABLED EXPERIENCE One thing I didn't like is that not a single staff member respected the basic service dog rules. Sure, they let him in, but then employees kept stopping to try and say hi to my SD-- huge no-no-- and the one that helped me kept asking what his name was while speaking in a baby voice to him. One reached out as if to pet him, which was crazy! It was a really disrespectful experience that stresses both my SD and me out. They should have been trained in proper SD procedures and taken the hint when both he and I were clearly uncomfortable with their behavior. Santa had brought a new cell phone. The 17. Something was wrong why the software for the antenna. Apple location was busy yesterday BUT the staff that helped me was fantastic! I reached here much earlier than my appointment and still the moment I entered, I was asked by one of their representatives and after understanding my purpose of visit they immediately referred me to a technician who diagnosed the issue after going through a few checks and gave me options to choose , where one of the option was not to worry about anything except that I can use my power cord. I was told the screen is "not replaceable" and that my only options were to pay approximately $600 for a replacement unit or purchase a new iPad at full price. My family and I have long trusted Apple products because of their stability, performance, and long-term reliability. That is why this situation has been so frustrating. I had help moving my data to my new phone and it really didn't take as long as others had warned me of which was nice. My experience with the staff felt genuine and I did end up learning more about other products while I was there. I would say they have a good selection of Apple merchandise, but limited to just that. If you wanted help adding a screen protector and it wasn't one of the ones you had purchased from them, they would decline to assist only because they wouldn't had been able to pick up another in case the first defaulted. Value of service is top here in my personal experience and I would recommend this store to others. They valued my time and really listened to my concerns. I made the appointment and drove all the way over there just for them to tell me they don't even repair watches. The guy who checked me in even told me they'd be with me immediately for an estimate. Both of these people were aware I did not have Apple care and warned me it would be an expense to fix. They finally met with me then gave me a sales pitch about buying a new one and even told me it was all my fault for not purchasing the Apple care plan. Absolutely absurd. Gina went above and beyond by patiently listening to her concerns, offered suggestions, and showed her how to change the settings on her phone. She also provided additional suggestions for making sure her phone works smoothly. I really appreciate Gina taking the time to speak slowly and making sure my mother understood the instructions. Seniors sometimes have hearing or "processing" challenges that require extra care, repetition, and patience.
