The people we encountered were very nice. And when I couldn't figure out the self serve printer, Ian was awesome!

I came to this Office Depot to get help in the printing department. The women working there today at 12:26pm told me they had too much work and they wouldn't be able to get to me today. I asked how long is the wait and she said she can't get to me today because she is the only one working. She told me to go online and do it there. So I'm leaving and now have to go to a different location. Very disappointed in customer service. read more

Always my go to place when I need urgent office items. Not the biggest stock but a little bit of everything. My last trip was to get emergency paper and the cashier was so kind and offered to carry it out to my car. read more

Absolutely. Here is a professional but firm version that keeps the facts of your experience while making the review clear and credible: ### Very Disappointing Customer Service I had a very disappointing experience at this Office Depot. I walked into the store with my files saved on a USB drive and simply asked for assistance placing a printing order. I was **not in a hurry** and was willing to wait for the employee to help me. Unfortunately, the employee I spoke with was not friendly or helpful. Instead of listening to what I was asking for, she kept trying to explain how I could download the files and place the order online from home. I explained that I **do not have a computer and am not comfortable with online ordering**, and I told her that I was willing to wait for her assistance. There were **no other customers in the store at the time**, yet she still did not take my order or make an effort to help me. I felt that my concerns were being ignored and that I was being treated disrespectfully. I then asked another employee about speaking with the manager. I was told that the store did not have a manager, and when I asked for the store's phone number, he did not know it and had to look it up online. Overall, I was extremely disappointed by the **attitude, lack of customer service, and lack of willingness to help**. Customers should be treated with respect and listened to, especially when they are politely asking for assistance. Unfortunately, based on this experience, **I will not be returning to this location.** read more

Poor customer service. Staff just don't seem to care. I would avoid this store and go somewhere else.

The self-service printing machines didn't work, which completely defeated the purpose of coming here. I asked the staff for help, but they seemed uninterested in assisting and acted like it was an inconvenience to answer basic questions. Instead of trying to troubleshoot the issue or offer an alternative, they were dismissive and unhelpful. If you're advertising self-service printing, the machines should actually work, and if they don't, the staff should be willing to help customers instead of brushing them off. Overall, it was a frustrating experience, and I ended up wasting my time. read more

Went there to dispose old computer equipment, a laptop, old desktop, monitor. They required I buy a medium size box for $20, then placed the equipment inside the box. They take care of shipping it out for disposal. read more

I want to give a huge shoutout to Ian in the Print & Copy Services department! I came in with a very last-minute printing need for my church -- the kind of job that normally would've meant I'd have to come back the next day. Even though he had a full workload of online orders, Ian took the time to listen, understood how urgent my situation was, and went above and beyond to help me right on the spot. His kindness, empathy, and stellar customer service truly saved the day for me. It's rare to find someone who not only does their job well but also genuinely cares about the people they're serving. Ian is an absolute credit to Office Depot, and I'm extremely grateful for the way he handled my request. Thank you, Ian, for turning a stressful situation into a wonderful experience! read more

I always come to this Office Depot to print at the self service machine. When I need to use a different paper type I always ask and they sell me a sheet of card stock yet today the lady at the print station spoke to me with attitude and said I needed to buy a whole pack of card stock to use it at the print machine for a 30 cent print lmao. Like is 1 sheet of paper coming out of your paycheck? I'm paying for it anyways lol read more

Well, aside from great customer service, helpful, friendly staff. I had accidently left my notebook on the counter. I called when I realized I had left it behind. They had found it and put it aside. I was able to pick it up the next day. Thank you! read more

Sooner or later your inkjet printer will run out of ink and all your #2 pencils will be nubs. That same day you'll be working on some very important documents that need to be stapled together, but you ran out of staples. That's the day you will pull up outside and walk-in. This is the reason you need to stop looking for office supplies at Walgreens! Office Depot always seems to be well stocked. This is one of the few stores I may walk up and down every aisle so this way I do not miss out on some new gadget. The service is good and the staff is very helpful. read more

Went looking for a 2022 calendar and a paper shredder. Calendars were on sale I suppose since its already past the time most normal people get their 2022 calendars. Easy to find in the main aisle I suppose to grab people's attention as an impulse purchase. Paper shredder choice was abundant. Super low price ones all the to the best quality - the Grand Mac Daddy one that features a bull dog. Yes a tan bulldog with some floppy ears and a newspaper in his mouth. Chomp chomp chomp. Yeahhh I know the type. Abundant hand sanitizer as you enter for just pennies - overstock. I didn't want any - I thought we would leave hand sanitizer back in 2021. Nobody needs that anymore - bars are packed life goes on. I think you should be fine as long as you don't get those booster shots like Betty White did. A paper calendar is a stone age sort of thing. But I think its still useful for putting on your front door. Leave little love notes for roommates. Circle all the street sweeping days. Put some little doggie paws on there - whatever. Big open store. Very few people inside. I feel like all these huge stores should open little 7/11s inside or something. Make better use of the space. Maybe add a Krispy Krunchy Chicken somewhere in there. read more

Had a bad experience the first time I went in, however this time was completely different thanks to David in the the print department, he made my prints for a show while he assisted everyone at the same time, very professional and very easy to talk to. I saw how he helped other customers all while alone. Great job and thanks read more

I had THE best customer service 2 days in a row at Office Depot. The first day I waited an hour and watched the sweet lady Linda in the printing department greet and help each and every person. She said she'd call me with a quote and she did!! The next day I went in for more help and she was closing and recognized me at helped me still! She helped me save money with different options. Now to top it off she told me my order would be ready Saturday and she called me 3 hours later that my order was completed!!!!!!!! Now that is customer service! Thank Ms. Linda for your help. read more

First time going to this location. Went to the copy area and saw they were "closed" for today due to short staff. However there were helpful workers behind the desk doing what they can to help out despite people still asking for copy services. They warned incoming customers that there will be a wait so they were welcomed to use the self serve copiers. The employee who helped me out gave me a card to email my prints I needed to print despite them being closed for the day. Such helpful staff. They worked with what they had and got me my prints in good time with good pricing. Some customers came in hot and heavy and impatient but that was not the employees fault. Overall the staff at this location was nice. I will be back. Thank you for all your help. read more

Old fashioned office supplies and updated electronic supplies and printing support is their specialty. We rely on them.

Sent an online order to this location for their printing services and was definitely pleased with the product quality as well as the customer service we received here. Even before we came to pick up the order, we ran into hiccups, that were admittingly our own fault. We were able to call and pause our order (as they had not started yet) and send them an updated file for them to print off of. Both women who were servicing the Copy & Print Center were so kind, understanding, and helpful. When we came to pick up our order they helped us find it on the shelf. When my sister and I realized we wanted to make changes to our order (we ordered programs that the printer folded automatically, however, since we decided to use regular printer paper and printed on both sides...it didn't look as professional as you could see the words/pictures on the other side pretty well). This is no fault to Office Depot or their employees, but us not realizing we should've ordered it on thicker paper! Note, as the employees may warn you - if you do choose to print on thicker paper you will need to fold them yourself. This is because the printer cannot fold those for you. Not a big deal, but figured it might matter to someone! :) To get the programs reprinted we were lucky that they still had our updated file in their system. We did have to pay again, but honestly, we didn't mind at all and the finished product was great. My review isn't for the store itself, but the Print and Copy Center! I wish I remembered their names, but my mind is a blur. Just wanted to say you definitely made this process easy and we appreciated your kindness, patience, and honesty. Definitely would send other prints to this location. Pick-up was a breeze. read more

6/24/24, Went in to purchase a printer today, just needed something simple to just print in black & white since I don't print much. Was in the printer isle for 20 mins without anyone coming to me to see if I needed any assistance. Walked around and couldn't find any employees around. Finally ran into one and she was so clueless on anything, asked her about the printers and she just pointed to the front counter, didn't say she to me. If you can't speak basic ass English maybe you shouldn't be working there. Ended up just walking out. It's all about customer service to me, if that's not there then I don't want to support your business. There are many other places to buy printers from. read more

Walked in when nobody in store, employee saw me waiting completely ignored me. Older lady was busy working on something else. I didn't sign my name assuming the employee would take me next . The older lady comes to the paper doesn't acknowledge me as I'm standing on the desk first in line calls the girl behind me just because she read her name( not her fault), I get we have to sign our names but the male could have told her I've been waiting for 30 minutes and before the other person, instead he signs off the computer looks at me smirks, rolls eyes and walks away Now I'm waiting over and hour and a half for lamination for papers I printed before the other people walked in. Horrible service slow staff. Shouldn't take almost 2 hours for lamination I printed my papers at 1:35pm I was complete and finished at 3pm. In the end the lady was very sweet and did her job but the male needs to be trained on customer service and people skills. read more

Went to Walgreens down the street which has the same Fedex shipping service as Office depot but was hoping to get some last second help in printing a prepaid label from Fedex Because it was a time sensitive shipment and the package needed to get out at a certain time. Kevin helped me with prepare the shipment, print the label, and set me up with everything I needed to package my item. I had never been to this store before but will come back again just for the exceptional customer service. Above and beyond my expectations for what I think should be expected at a retail store. If he isnt already, he deserves a manager role. Seems to do everything efficiently and knew pretty much anything I asked. Thanks again. read more

Wow this place is amazing. So my review is only for the print, copy etc section of the store. First of all I dealt with Shania. So so well organized, it was prompt service and I loved the outcome. I have my prints, resized and printed and cut for my gallery wall. It was an amazing response and done in a timely manner. I am so excited to hang my prints. Will update with pictures but yeah If you want shredding, printing, copy done in a timely and well priced manner use this spot. Also I love how you can print from email, you can speak about your order on email so I never had to call I always got prompt responses. read more

A few months ago I would've given the store one star but because of the the general manager I will give the store three stars. He has since changed my opinions about this particular location. Originally because of the assistant manager I had a horrible perspective of this place as well as another associate who was highly unhelpful and unprofessional. After a few more interactions I will update this review in a couple months. I frequent Office Depot throughout the bay area I also frequent other office supply stores so I'd like to think that I have a wide range of ideas and perspectives. read more

I'm not necessarily giving 5 stars for this entire store, but for ONE particular person. The Copy & Print Center (the lady) Situation: i had ordered a booklet online and when i came to pick it up, the formatted was SUPER wonky. Outstanding customer service: this lady ( i wish i got her name) not only spent SO much time helping me re-format, but she gave me the book/labor free and only charged for the binding ($4!) when the book was $32. She made me from a very frustrated, angry customer ( i was even going to leave a 1 star rating) to a SUPER happy customer. She was so patient, and made sure i was taken care of and happy. i'm so thankful for her help! read more

I ordered some items online the day before and had received an email that my items are ready for pick up. Since I don't live near here, I decided to come the next day to pick them up. As soon as I walked in, I looked around a bit before locating the pick up section for online orders. Since it was my first time there, I didn't know what to do. I just kept looking around to see if I can find my order. A few minutes later, an employee walked up to me and asked if I needed help. I told her that I was there to pick up an order that I had placed online the day before. She asked me for my name and what I had ordered. After I answered her questions, she immediately knew where my items were. She then took me to a register and had me sign a form stating that I had picked up my item. Think twice about purchasing a computer from the Office Depot store on Hesperian Blvd. in Hayward. I bought a new Lenovo laptop from that store in November of 2021, and in the last few weeks have had some problems with the Windows 11 program installation in it as well as mechanical problems with the on/off button. When I asked the current manager about these problems, and about the fact that I had bought a service protection plan with my laptop, she could neither find a record of it or of my purchase. As a matter of fact, it seems like all of the senior tech people at this store have either moved on or were removed. The manager did say she would get their "tech apprentice" to look at my laptop, which doesn't fill me with much confidence that the problem will be fixed. This Office Depot store seems to be in flux at the very least, and I wouldn't buy anything of value from them since they apparently won't honor their own service agreement, and can't even find records of purchases that were made from their store just a few months ago. read more
