I am kicking myself because I can't remember her name but she was very helpful (blonde, red nails; not a common name.) She determined I'll have to come into the store in person. This Castro Valley location had a mix of great and poor customer service. I had only been here twice. When I received my new phone in the mail and came to get service, one of the workers had a poor execution of customer service. To sum it up, I bought a phone case and screen protector. After he installed the screen protector, I wanted to clean my the screen with the wipe it comes with. When I asked for it he said he had already thrown it out. I told him since I paid for the product he should have asked me first. He did nothing to rectify it, which simply was to find another wipe to give me. He only offered to give me the one out the trash can. He got an attitude when I said that was unacceptable. I ended interacting with him and waited for the other employee to help me. The other employee went to the back and found another wipe, such a simple solution. Neither of them were managers but I appreciate the initiative from the other employee who helped the matter. Just moved to the area and started going to this location. The staff are taking the proper safety precautions for covid by wearing their masks and ensuring that all customer entering are wearing one as well. They provide hand sanitizer and clean the surfaces in between customers. The customer service is amazing, the whole staff is super helpful. The employee helping me was unsure of the answer to a question I had and they asked the manager for clarification instead of giving me the wrong answer. Overall, the experience was great and hassle free, so glad for this to be my new go to store! read more

Sorry T Mobile 1 star for my recent visit. Lack of training and a quick Google search led to the store manager telling me I needed to root my phone in order for it to work. Wrong.... My father recent passed and I took his brand new Verizon galaxy s6 into the store because I could not get my internet to work. I could make calls and text but no internet, google, Instagram. I did swap Out the sim card and the phone was unlocked. I could make calls so I went in to get help with the setting to get the internet to work. The store manager helped the rep assisting me. It seems she googled for an answer and told me it was not possible, I need to have someone root my phone in order for it to work in the network. This seemed odd. I was upset being we just paid the remaining balance on the phone to get it unlocked. The Verizon rep said it would work for sure! Seems like the store is run by Google searches and not knowledge. They did greet me with a smile. But sent me on my way fast. I have attached photos from My Google search. I simply changed the network settings and boom. I have full t mobile 4g lte access and I can make Calls and texts. Can't trust a store that only wants to make sales and doesn't want to assist existing customers with issues. The visit felt like a scam. The sales people are not trained and treated my wife's uncertainty of which phone she wanted as an opportunity to take advantage of her. My wife and I went into the store a few weeks ago. I was already a t-mobile customer, so we had an idea of the plan we wanted, but just wanted a basic phone with a camera and would mostly be on wifi for internet. The salesperson that helped us didn't seem that familiar with the areas we were looking for, but we explained the basic needs and settled on a phone. We were then told that the plan was going to be $80+ a month. The store argued that I couldn't possibly be paying a lower price. They checked my number then said in a condescending tone, "oh, well that is because you are prepaid." They then told us they wouldn't sell the phone for the price listed but that it cost $40 or $50 more if we don't buy it with a high priced plan. We told them this felt like a scam and turned around to leave. Suddenly they typed on the computer and said they were looking for current promotions available to help. That is not the point that we need help with a promotion. I would drive an hour to go to another store rather than trust this place. read more

I came there to add a new line into my family plan. It supposed to have unlimited talk, text, and data. They charged $30 for the "service" even though it's no charge if do online. I needed the sim card immediately so that's fine. The new line couldn't connect to the internet at all. I had to drive back and ask them to fix it, the rep told me that my plan was too cheap to have internet and I need to pay more if I want data. I didn't buy it. I went home and with just a simple call to customer service to reboot the line, it working great now. T-mobile is a great company, just be careful with these crooks at stores, they'll find every opportunity to rip you off. read more

Let's starts with saying I work in customer service. When I arrived at this store every associate was busy but that didn't stop them from greeting me. I took a seat to wait my turn. Nick asked me while he was with his customer "what brings you in?" To see if he could help me. This kind of blew me away, every time I have been in a cell phone store the associates are usually cold and not very helpful. While I was waiting Nick and 2 other associates kept apologizing that I had to wait which goes a long way. Once it was my turn nick made sure to listen to my needs and suggest services based on my usage , but this is where Nick really won me over. I was trying to transfer my number which turned out to be a hassle (because of Sprint not Nick or TMobile). It didn't work at first but Nick walked me through everything I needed to do to get it rolling. I had to come back the next day after I handled what I needed from Sprint,but I from a bit of info so I had to jump through hoops with Sprint again I called Sprint from the store and they gave me the run around. Nick then told me to put the phone on speaker when I was talking to them and offered to speak to them to get the info we need just to transfer a number. That to me is goin above and beyond most sales people would just say sorry your issue, but Nick made it his issue. Went in for a warranty exchange but they pointed out that because my phone was cracked (my fault, not theirs) I was better off upgrading my device or doing an insurance claim because the penalty fee for sending in a broken phone would be much more expensive. I never yelp, but felt I needed to on this occasion. I was racially profiled at the store by the young manager. Long story short , my card(s) (I gave her 3 different cards) wouldn't go through, I knew there was plenty of money on the card , and told her at that time , it must be your computer. She insisted it wasn't, all while she kept stopping to help other people. I was purchasing two phones , flat out , the moment I told her that , her whole attitude got very curt. I called my bank , after the 2nd card wouldn't go through, they said it isn't you it's them. She still argued me down , and told me I could just go get cash , by this time it was around 5:40 (I got there at 3:40) . There wasn't enough time for me up go to the bank, and I knew she was saying that , because she felt I was a scammer . I'm a black woman, in my 40's, who looks much younger than that. She treated me like I was a crook trying to get over. I insisted multiple times that she try another computer, she insisted that it would take to long etc to switch things over, (by this time 2 + hours had passed). I insisted after card number 3 declined. She then told me she had to speak to her manager, to get it ok'd because they normally insisted on cash , when this happened. I literally would have stormed out by this time, but my son needed a phone desperately, and I was determined to prove my point. Finally she came back , saying we will do it this time (I was nicely putting up a fuss). She ran , the very first card , and you tell me what happened...... it went through immediately. She then begin moving around quickly , trying to be extra nice. I was seething , literal smoke pouring from my ears. I know profiling when I see it . I'm definitely not a person who throws racism around , she definitely sized me up , and treated me accordingly. I had been there over 3 hours at this point, which she kept trying to blame on my phone upload, because I said something about her constantly leaving me to help everyone else. It was the lack of humility, and not wanting to be wrong concerning there glitched computer system ( which happens), that irritated me. When it was done , and I still hadn't received an apology for her error, I told her she owed me an apology , and her customer service was appalling. She made a bunch of excuses, I then said that's still not an apology , which she then gave, half heartedly . I was truly disheartened, and left totally drained , vowed I'd never step foot in this TMobile again . I've been a customer for 17 years and had never been treated so poorly.
