I ordered 3 cartridges that did not work and sent them back for a refund. They asked if I wanted a check or Zelle and I chose Zelle. They did not send a Zelle refund and when I tracked said that they tried to refund my credit card and they were waiting on a charge back. The credit card I used had to be closed because just after I purchased the ink my card was used for fraud and the fruadster used Comp and Save's telephone number. The have been lying and stalling in refunding my money and then just stopped communicating with me. Now I have to make a complaint to the BBB, FTC, and AG Office of Consumer Affairs. I recently had an issue on a new remanufactured $70 set of 4 ink cartridges that did not work on my HP Office Jet 8020. The web site side they should but none of the cartridges were accepted. The error message on my printer said they did not have the approved chip for a remanufactured cartridge. Seems to be a real quality common issue with their cartridges. I contacted CompAndSave.com but they would not do anything to help since I was outside their return period. The fact that the chip was invalid should have been resolved by sending me an updated set of approved cartridges. All I received from their rep was a "sorry but your order is no longer within our warranty period". They will not stand by their products. I understood that aftermarket toner, especially Canon with the chip, most likely not be recognized by the printer. But the quality of toner cartridge from compandsave is bad. Magenta leaked within the sealed package, and the replacement magenta tone was leaking, in a controlled way, during printing, resulting in occasional magenta stripes and dots. The black toner stopped functioning within 2 weeks and printing out only in light gray. Somehow the Cyan and Yellow works better with only occasional color problems. Sure the customer service response is within expectation, but was offer only to replace piece meal, so I was forced to order from another vendor, and ending up with much better results. These cartridges obviously are very old and sat for a long time! customer service is terrible! trashed both cartridges! Do NOT order from this company. First, when I ordered the toner online my card was ran three times. When I contacted the company they advised that the reason was because the first two times I tried processing my card that the address did not match the address on the card and they sent me an e-mail with that message. That is not how banks work. When you get that error message and have to run your card again. Second, I paid for overnight delivery. It took this company over a week for me to receive the toner. Third, when I received the toner my printer could not read the cartridges. The issue is NOT user error. This is a new printer. If I could give this company zero stars I would. read more

A waste of money and time. Having to remove the chip from each of the empty cartridges and replacing the chip in the new cartridges is not an easy task. There isn't anything that confirms that the replaced cartridge chip is locked in place therefore if just one of the cartridge chips is not securely in place your printer will not work. Good luck trying to determine which chip is not securely in place. You have to remove each cartridge and recheck each chip. To replace the new cartridges you also have to remove a piece of the plastic with the pliers/tweezers that come with the new cartridges since this ordeal is a "DIY" (Do It Yourself). Again, the piece of plastic that has to be removed is not corrugated and doesn't evenly come off with the pliers. You have no idea if you've taken off too little or too much of the plastic in order to insert the chip. New cartridges from HP are expensive $300-$400 range whereas Comp and Save's price is less than $175. My time and the aggravation isn't worth it. If only DIY's are available with Comp and Save and other HP competitors then I am forced to research other printers with less costly ink refills or to find a competitors that doesn't use DIY cartridges. read more

I've purchased from them in the past with goodresults. However, in a recent purchase (4 toner cartridges) one cartridge was bad. The replacement process is quite laborious. 1) you either "chat" online or call (I tried both). 2) even though 3 of the 4 are fine, they won't accept a return until it is "approved" by someone. 3) then, in 1-2 days I'm to receive an email re. whether the return is approved and a label. 4) they cannot replace, only refund (pending approval). 5) they won't accelerate or send out a new cartridge; you have to re-order. Of course, any shipping discount (in this case that I got by ordering 4 cartridges) is now lost on the re-order. A supervisor called me back. I ask him, since they shipped a defective toner cartridge, how about shipping out a replacement overnight or next day air. He states they don't have the ability to ship overnight. Then, when I press him, he says he can ship overnight of $163.00. (Translation: go to Best Buy and pay retail for an HP cartridge for $65.00). I press him, you can go to USP and ship in an overnight envelop for $10.95 or so. "We don't have that capability" he says. If you get good refurbished cartridges from CompAndSave, great.
