I wish I would have looked at these reviews before my dad told me he had hired them to produce his CD. As these reviews suggest, there was once a woman who worked there that was apparently great with graphics design. My dad heard from a friend of his about this woman's design work. We would find out later that this woman was no longer with Isomedia. The man you should avoid is named Greg. The project was a disaster! Panels were on the wrong areas, a barcode ended up being placed over a band member's face, and to top it all off, THE CDS DID NOT HAVE AUDIO! Kee was our design artist. When this person sent over proofs, it did not include a barcode but green lines over one of the band member's faces. I, of course, emailed them about my concerns, Kee said the green line was just a template line and the red line was where the paper would be cut-the proof didn't even HAVE a bar code. On January 23rd, I approved the proof after Kee told me the green lines would not affect the final product. On Feb. 3rd, I got notice that the project was done and my dad called me to tell me of the mistakes, including how the cds didn't have audio and the pictures were wrong. Greg would later email and call me to drag the process along. He would tell my dad he would call him back and then wouldn't for days. Once I made changes to the design myself to make room for the barcode in good faith they would be fixing it, Greg called me to inform me that because I changed the project I would be charged again. After I explained it was not a mistake on my part he got his cds back, and we're asking for our money to be returned. This has been very stressful, so our lawyer will be the one to have to sort it out if he doesn't respond in a timely manner. I've included a screenshot of the proof I approved and the product we received. It should have been a simple redo, but either the company is broke (since they clearly don't want to lose more money even though it's clear they were in the wrong), or Greg is running all of the business himself and is drowning. Can't speak for the whole company but I personally had a TERRIBLE experience and REGRET using ISOmedia to print my CDs. First of all the turnaround time was FOUR MONTHS! And then even after that there were problems with my order. And the person I was dealing with would barely return phone calls or emails so I had to spend so much time just calling and trying to catch him. And now, 5 months later, they charged me even more money to supposedly fix the original problem and it didn't work. And to this day I spent so much money and never received what I paid for and they REFUSE to refund any part of the money I spent. Very disappointing! read more

If I could I would bump them up to three and a ahlf stars. They have come through for me several times over the past five years. This really raises my confidence levels in them. They are a solid partner IF you know how to work with them. A few caveats: Chamaine was a great graphic artist who is no longer there. This means that you will need to be more involved with the layout and the proofing to keep things on track. Make sure you ask for physical proofs of everything. This will slow things down but is necessary to make sure you will get what you want. Greg is an OK guy, can managed taking the order but does not have a graphics background, so he really does not understand issues with graphics or how to fix them. That is why you need to stay close to the process. If you run into issues, bump it over to Howard the owner. He is very smart and wants to have a healthy business. The bottom line is this: there are few small firms that can do blu-ray duplication. And they can do it reliably. Not too many options. If it is just a CD there are far more options available. read more

Definitely not repurchasing with company, and neither is my record label. I needed CD's in a rush, and Isomedia was #1 local, and #2 recommended to me. I tried to contact an employee who I had been referred to and apparently they do not work there any longer. Her voice mailbox was still set up so I had no reason to believe that she no longer worked for the company. After my 3rd failed attempt to contact the employee, someone picked up the phone and very rudely informed me that they no longer worked there. Anyway, first I worked with a graphic consultant who was helpful. Then, I was transferred to a different employee, when my graphic work was not even done. He then tried to mess with it, (my back panels of digipak were duplicated, the spacing was off, etc) and when I expressed my concerns with formatting and spacing, he said it, "looked fine to him" and that it was already being produced. My CD's came, and the cover art was faded to a light pink color when it was supposed to be a vibrant purple. There were scratches on almost every cover, and the quality was mediocre. The proofs did not accurately represent was came in the mail. I also told them explicitly that I was on a time crunch and needed the CD's by a Wednesday at the LATEST. They did not show up on my doorstep until late Thursday. My calls were always sent to voicemail and avoided. The quality was not the worth the price, and I should have gone with a bigger company like Discmakers. At least they called me back. If you're on a time crunch, yes isomedia will get it done. Maybe. But, if you want quality CD's and printing, go somewhere else. read more

I consider myself very lucky that I found ISO Media for my 1000 DVD replication order. I was very close to placing a DVD order with an online company based in NJ, however, ISO Media offered a MUCH better deal (plus, no shipping fee). ISOMedia was also flexible with allowing me to customize my order with a full-color, 32 page DVD booklet. I visited their factory location in Fremont, CA several times and was quite impressed with their operations. Tam, the graphics designer, printed out test sheets of my CMYK artwork and worked with me to ensure that I was satisfied with the final product. No way would I be able to get that level of customer service with an online DVD company! I also worked with Howard (the owner) who was always very prompt with answering my questions. I was very confident in choosing his company after I spoke with him on the phone for the first time. He's very knowledgeable in the business - ask him for a tour of the factory! As an indie filmmaker, I take pride in the products I release. I highly recommend other Bay Area media producers and filmmakers to work with this East Bay company. They have many customers, but they really give you first-rate treatment and they always want to make sure you're happy with the end product. Not only did they get the job done, they did it quickly and kindly. I spoke with Charmaine, whose voice was as sweet as her service. It was the holidays and I wasn't expecting fast results. I was pleasantly surprised by the quick turn around and phenomenal customer service. I was ordering 150 duplicated audio printed-on discs and needed them within a few days. They made that happen and the price was fair. Charmaine was very patient helpful in answering my questions about graphics specifications (I'm not a graphic designer) and went above and beyond when it came to their end of the work. They were able to begin work by getting what they needed on the phone and trusted me to send them what they needed for official purposes. Great company with good practices. I recommend! read more

I'm a struggling local artist. I paid for 100 copies of my new album. Picked them up. Opened three separate CDs and all three skip in the exact same spot on multiple car stereos. I send video proof of the CDs skipping. They refuse to re-do the order and claim that it doesn't skip on their machine. Communication has been sub par. The dude even hung up on me while I was in the middle of saying something to him on the phone. Very unprofessional, very stubborn, they seem like they just don't care much about their customers or the quality of their work. I highly DO NOT recommend Isomedia of Fremont. read more

Charmaine and the Isomedia team was great. We just had 1500 DVDs with full color screen printing replicated with them and the DVDs came out great. My order seemed to change every few minutes and Charmaine dealt with each new request quickly and pleasantly. This could be the worst customer service I've ever experienced in a company. The quoted us 5 - 10 days for production from the time our artwork was approved. It took 4 weeks for us to receive all of our CDs after the artwork was approved. We tried to have a proof printed so we could see what it would look like, and we were told that they "can't do that". WHAT? How can a printing company not print a proof? We called them on the day they were supposed to have the order complete, only to find out that it would be another week! Then, after the additional week, WE had to call again to find out the status, and they had less than half of the order ready. I don't like to "hunt" down a salesman or customer service, but that's what we had to do every time we needed to talk to them. If I could rate 1/2 a star that's what they would get, 1/2, only because the actual discs are o.k. read more

BEWARE of Isomedia! I've used them for at least 5 previous projects and was pretty happy with their work, but just used them for a CD project and they have been awful. Their printing job sucked, the photo is fuzzy and crummy looking. They insisted that this was our fault (that the photo was too low res, which it was not). Finally I went there yesterday and looked at their hard copy proof which was fine and looked nothing like the actual printing job. We made more proofs each of which looked different. Finally we left it at the end of the day, that I would bring the CDs back to them today, and they'd re-do the job. BUT this morning they sent me an email saying that the problem was our fault (it was not) and that it would cost another $400 to re-do the job. All I can say is, if this is how they treat a long-time customer, I wouldn't want to see how they treat a new customer. If there was a way to leave minus stars, I would do that. read more

ISO has helped us since 2004. As an artist/label owner they basically helped us cut out the middle man to get our work done. They've always come through for us and now that we've since started our small media company, we consider them a sister company to us here at 408INC. We regularly refer each other work to help keep our networks strong in a business that is not doing so well. iso is the best! have been working with Howard and charmaine and tam for a few projects and they helped me out a bunch on this past recent project, long story short, there was an error in our manufacturing for the disc, so we were able to obtain discs with a circumference of .1mm smaller, which normally it wouldn't matter except for the project we did it had to be exact.. Howard went the whole mile with research on disc size variations depending on the mold from different countries, it was crazy.. we figured it out, the disc fits amazing, couldn't be any happier i owe him bigtime read more

We used IsoMedia to silkscreen some CDs as well as make some DVD inserts. On both occasions everything was done perfectly and professionally. For the CDs it was kind of last minute and Charmaine helped me get the job done ASAP. Since they are in the Bay Area the ground shipping is also pretty quick. Avoid this company. Did not meet the deadline and 3 weeks later they never checked the product. Printing was defective on splines and actual disc. There was a negative review here on Yelp before (Micah C.), and the same thing that happened to him / her happened to me. Wish I would have checked before. New five-star reviews immediately appeared after my original negative one was posted (this is an update). After my post an effort was made on their part to communicate in writing (finally) and they refunded my deposit. Will never get the hours back though. Caveat emptor. read more
