I've stopped by once or twice before but this was the first time I had time to really browse and make a purchase. The staff were super nice and found the book for me right away. They have a good selection of recent, popular titles, organized well and even have staff recommendations posted throughout the store if you're looking for your next read. They also have stationary and different knickknacks for sale too. Parking is difficult to find in this area but luckily I found a spot not too far away. Be careful backing out as the streets are quite narrow and there are always pedestrians. I'm looking forward to coming back here!

I have been a customer of the Fremont branch of Half Price Books for several years now. Because of…read moretheir extensive selection of books I have been able to read many hard to find books for a reasonable price. I have also ordered from them online with the same positive results. I have also sold many books and other items as well. They do not pay very high prices for the objects. I would check prices before selling there. However, the convenience (they take a very large range of items) can be worth it on its own. They can save you time by not having to try several places that may reject the items because they don't fit their exact customer preferences. Half Price Books is willing to take a lot of items because they are large enough to find a buyer. Finally, I have always found the staff to be friendly and helpful every time I have been there so far.

I love Rumi's bookstore, been going there for 5 years now for different needs! They have huge selection of middle eastern nifty decors, incenses and burners, necklaces, earrings, rings and other jewelry. Gelatin free candies, gummies and marshmallows and much more. Customer service has always been great and polite, prices are reasonable. I feel some sort of relief when I go in there, very calm and peaceful Ambiance.

It opened originally across the street in 1955 by conscientious objector Roy Kepler. He had ties to and thought along the same lines as Lawrence Ferlinghetti, the founder of City Lights Books in San Francisco. First off, Renee absolutely is THE person to own and run this place. She feels like a warm lovable character from your favorite book, the kind you reach for every now and then to read over and over again. I called recently because I really wanted to get my hands on a copy of Nikita Gill's new book "Hekate" and yes, I know I could just order it online from big box stores but I knew I wanted to support my local bookstore. Renee was quick and prompt and while she didn't have it in stock, she ordered it as quick as she could and I was able to go pick it up in the next day or so! Great sale on books! $30 to fill up a box if you're not associated with a school. I bought books…read morefor my kids and to give out for my child's birthday goodie bags. The selection targeted elementary and middle school age but I also found a good amount for my preschooler. If I was only buying for age 1-4 I don't think I'd fill up a box (mainly because they were almost all paperback and thin) but anything older and you will find plenty. All the workers were nice and friendly. It made me want to work there too lol. Note: I came during their warehouse book sale which lasted 3 days. This is not open every day! They offer new, used, vintage, and rare books in a charming atmosphere. I enjoyed wandering the aisles without really looking for anything special, just checking out whatever grabbed my attention. Among the books that caught my eye were two used hardcover books on the Beatles that had lots of great photos and stories, but they were too heavy to carry around downtown until dinner. I'd like to go back and get them. I ended up buying a small book of Rumi poems and a dragon journal for my niece for Christmas. My sister bought two vintage pulp fiction books with awesome covers. This is such a special book store. I highly encourage you to check it out.
