Classical books (fiction along the back sorted by author)

This is one of my favorite places to go dilly dally, and if you don't know what I mean, I mean that this place is great when you're on a mission to find something, when you need a distraction, or when you have some spare time in the day. This place has a little bit of everything, and I never leave empty handed. and the price points are great!

I visited this bookstore and was treated to a delight. A pianist came in decided to treat the store to an impromptu concert. The woman who was tending to the shop allowed me to sit in one of the many provided chairs around the store and enjoy the concert, no questions asked. The bookstore is cozy and filled with used books. I love the vibe of this lovely place. Very nice. There is another bookstore nearby but it feels a bit more like a chain store, like Barnes and Nobles. This bookstore has a mom and pop feel. I highly recommend the experience. Additionally, I witnessed the woman behind the counter assist an elderly gentleman who came in with a cane and required assistance. She was friendly and accommodating to him, and I thought this was worth noting.

If you asked me to share a list of places in the Bay Area to visit if you were on a whirlwind trip, Feldman's would be pretty high on that list. If you are looking for an esoteric selection then this probably ain't quite the used bookstore of your dreams! But if you just want to browse some interesting books in a great neighborhood while listening to some tasty tunes, I can't think of too many bookstores that check all the boxes. Most of the books you'll see on the shelves appear to be used. A big part of the experience for me is the great music they play on their old fashioned jukebox all day long. So if you want a quick trip to the sixties and back after a busy day/week, this place could easily be your favorite hangout in Menlo Park!

New address: 1075 Curtis Ave, Menlo Park Fun place to spend some time browsing. 2 steps in the door and I've already found 2 books at very decent prices that I am going to buy lol.

Hidden gem of a bookstore in DT Menlo Park. An upright piano you can play for fun. History section (US and rest of world, military) is not to be sneezed at. Support local and small businesses like this

This densely stocked shop sells all manner of used books. I spied gorgeous 30s editions of Frank L. Baum's Oz stories, the Great Books series (that nobody ever reads), paperback fiction from various decades in various conditions, a decent array of graphic novels, children's fare both current and not so, books on sport, magic, geography, politics, biography, sci-fi, and foreign language in the form of both grammars/dictionaries and actual literature, among the shelves. Need a Hawaiian language dictionary or an Irish grammar book? What about Steinbeck auf Deutsch? Well then Feldman's might just be your spot! I particularly dug the musty-dusty book smell that hits the nose when one enters the shop. Adding to the atmosphere were the many, vibrant oriental rugs covering the floor and the classical music playing softly in the background. Get ready to spead some quality time scanning the shelves for those 'must have' reads. The shop is comprised of two, separate bulidings bridged by an outside sit-space, leafy and green. The loo is out back as well, should 'nature call' while book persuing. Feldman's is practically brimming with books. It seems unfathomable that anyone would leave this place sans purchase. The only thing that Feldman's is lacking is a resident cat.

I was told Feldman's Books bought used scientific books. He doesn't or at least he wasn't interested in looking at the books.

Their selection was very limited. Very few POC authors. Lots of American history and little else.

Great ideas lie in wait here! Their math and engineering section is classic. I've been going here for years.

This may be my favorite used bookstore yet!…read more The ladies working there were so welcoming and friendly. They let me and my boyfriend in a few minutes before opening so we could get out of the cold. So thoughtful. The selection was amazing. I snagged some older titles and then came across a table with some newer titles and all $6 and under. What a bargain. Will absolutely be back!

At first I couldn't find this place because there was a mini golf set up in the courthouse square…read more I had to literally walk around the block and saw these signs that read "used books" "this way" haha. This place is really hole-in-the-wall basement ish warehouse type feel bookstore. The prices are amazing for the used books. It is incredibly reasonably priced. I found two children's books in very good quality for $1 each. What a steal! For the most part, don't expect finding hot new bestsellers in here. This place is like for book antiques or if you need a used copy of something that might be a few years back. It was good for what I needed since I'm looking for some older historical fiction books about the American revolution. I was surprised to find two books here that I needed and so maybe you'll get lucky too! The couple who owns this place are very friendly. They said hi right upon me walking in. Selection is pretty wide, the books genres are organized in a neat way but the books themselves are scattered. For example, the fiction and nonfiction adult books are alphabetical order by last name but the children's books are not. It made things harder for me to look but I didn't mind since I had time. If you're in a rush then maybe this place isn't the best or just ask the lady up front for help! Overall this place is a gem and the proceeds go to a good cause--San Mateo historical foundation!
