The culinary school doesn't disappoint! The portions are generous, the prices are affordable, and there's no tipping required. We ordered the Caribbean beef stew and the short rib grilled cheese--the stew was delicious, though the grilled cheese was a bit on the salty side. The pastry selection is also impressive, with plenty of tempting options to choose from. Overall, I had a great experience here. Just note that during lunchtime, the line can get long--you might need to wait around 10-15 minutes.

Chicken Caesar salad and unsweetened black currant iced tea

We had lunch here yesterday and it was fantastic! I am a huge Caesar salad fan and it was fantastic. But here's the thing and I hope they read these reviews and fix it--lots of items on the menu are prepackaged in the cold case to go BUT when I asked if that was my only option for a Caesar salad they said no, that they made them fresh for dining in! This is not made clear anywhere and the menu and setup implies the items in the case are only made to go. So I got a freshly made Caesar salad that was delightful! My friend got a freshly made beet salad and we both had the unsweetened black currant iced tea. The students working there were very friendly and professional and helpful. We very much enjoyed our lunch! They really should put something like (to go or dine in) next to the menu items that are offered to go but are also made fresh for those dining in.

Reached at 8.05 am while they were still bringing their breakfast cakes out. We ordered a Southwest breakfast burrito and 3 cheese breakfast burritos. Both were delicious. I loved the southwest burrito more since it has a lot of veggies with eggs. The staff was really sweet. I was confused about what cake should I order and with their suggestion ended up ordering peach cornbread cake that was good and a bit dry because of corn flour but peaches complimented it well. The ambiance is beautiful. It feels like you are walking in some fancy restaurant space.

Stopped in here for a late lunch with some friends. Good thing we got there before two because that's when they stop making hot food. They seemed to be out of the things that I wanted to try but I was very happy with what I ordered. The chicken pozole soup was AMAZING! Lots of chicken with tons of flavor and a little kick! The broth was full of flavor too. Loved it. The cauliflower pizza was also great. The little honey drizzle sweetened up the pizza more than I'd like normally but it was a nice touch. For dessert (I finally made it), I had a huge biscotti half dipped in chocolate with a cappuccino. A perfect ending.

Went back to our alma mater for a fresh taste of deliciousness and old memories. The service was excellent, even for an informal cafe! The food, excellent! I always love coming back home for real food! Thanks AP!

Stopped by for dessert after eating at American Bounty. We got the last available apple pie and it was one of the best I've ever tasted. Must try!

Excellent Bakery! Been here numerous times for breakfasts, meetings, coffee or to chat. There are no reservations required. This bakery changed since like 2010 - it's now more modern and has less tables. It seems more geared towards Culinary Institute of America students these days, too. When I came here 4 weeks ago at about 11am the baked goods were already sold out! What gives? Get those bakers and cooks to make 10 more items a piece so that the public, staff and visitors don't come here and leave disappointed. That's important!!! Even if superiors and superintendent think they can not afford the sugar, flour and spices.. Bake a few more items in the morning, instead of running out and looking like deadbeats to the public who want to visit and walk away with nice memories. Running out of breakfast items during breakfast at a Culinary Institute is, well: unacceptable! Review: 5

Went for lunch on Monday (the restaurants were closed so we were very glad that the cafe was open). We made it just in time and even though it says take out only, they do have an indoor area where they let people sit. We both had the lemon chicken with orzo, which was delicious, and I'm not a big orzo fan. The soup came with their crusty rolls (saved that for later). I ordered the cauliflower flatbread, which I was expecting to be vegetarian. I didn't read the list of ingredients close enough because it turned out there was prosciutto on it. It looked beautiful, but gave that to my friend since I don't eat pork. Instead I ordered the tomato tartine, which was on great bread! For dessert we tried a couple of baked goods. I had the beautiful lemon tartine (even the top was edible!) and my friend had this lovely concoction with bananas. The massive chocolate chunk cookie was for the road. I would definitely like to go back and try the restaurants as well as return to the cafe in a different season.

Sweet treat and chips with dip

First time back here in a while. Greeted right away when entering the building with a friendly student to help direct non students. Went to the bakery- beautiful space flooded with natural light. Display case of bakery items looks inviting. I was looking for a sit down lunch meal as I had last time I was here. I was disappointed as most items were cold in a cooling display case. They had 3 fresh items to choose from- pizza, pot pie or soup. Non of which I wanted. I wanted a freshly made salad and was unable to get that. I went with two chips and dips as to grab something. My guest was there for the bakery items. They had many options. The sweet treats had beautiful presentations to them, but while eating they would fall apart and did not wow us. I unfortunately will not be returning. I do love the culinary and will select one of the sit down restaurants as opposed to the bakery.

THE BEST cortado I have ever had and amazing chocolate dipped almond biscotti!
Kristen K.

I had the best cortado I've ever had...ever...this past week when visiting this bakery at the CIA! The chocolate dipped almond biscotti were also amazing! I would drive back from RI just to have a couple more!! Thank you for the friendly service and a delicious snack!

This place is amazing. Every dessert and pastry is to die for with such a steal price. The intricacy and uniqueness of each of the cake were impressive. The lemon cake had such a unique flavor of spices that I never thought would pair so well - lemongrass and ginger. The apple cake had really nice filling in the inside. Croissants weren't bad but definitely better quality than most places. I would past on the small Ferraro rocher cake. The bigger cakes are definitely a better value. They're only open Monday thru Friday and sells out quickly, come early!

Everyone behind the counter greets you with genuine warmth during the morning rush. The pastries are always fresh and worth the wait, but the real star of the show? Their wonderfully large cup of coffee. It's the kind that wakes you up, comforts you, and pairs perfectly with anything you grab from the bakery case. Whether you're stopping by before work or treating yourself on a slow weekend morning, Kelly's delivers every time. It was a memorable experience, with excellent staff and service. However, my visit today was very disappointing. I stopped in to pick up sunflower bread, as previously recommended. At the counter, a staff member told me only garlic-onion bread was available today and that sunflower bread would be available tomorrow. I agreed to take the garlic-onion loaf and asked if it could be sliced, also mentioning that I planned to return the next day for sunflower bread. As I was completing the purchase, another staff member passing by stated that the bread was in fact sunflower. The first employee then changed course and asked how many I wanted. I requested one loaf and again asked if it could be sliced. He responded that they do not slice bread. I explained that during my visit last Wed., the breads have been sliced for us, and I also shared that I am a senior with a disability, specifically severe arthritis in both hands, which makes slicing difficult. A second staff member then interjected, stating that the bread should not have been sliced for me previously and that only sourdough is sliced, and only after 10 a.m. This interaction left me feeling uncomfortable and discouraged. The contrast between the welcoming, accommodating staff I encountered last Wednesday and today's experience was striking. Unfortunately, this visit significantly impacted my impression of Kelly's.

Between my tasty mushroom+fresh mozzarella omelette and hubs' BEC, we had no issues. As a heads up, these folks don't have iced decaf, what you'll get is hot decaf coffee with decaf coffee cubes. Different for these parts- but hubs drank it. My first Chai I ordered, came with warm milk on the side but when I poured it in my mug, the milk curdled. When I mentioned it to the owner, she said that she drank milk earlier that morning¯\_(ツ)_/¯. In my head I'm like, "did you NOT notice that it was spoiled????" Plus, the small pitcher the original milk was served in, had that milk ring on the inside. Ewww. I hesitated ordering another, but I was somehow convinced to. However, for my taste this places donuts are slightly on the denser side and lack much flavor in terms of the actual dough (which mostly just tastes like oil rather than a fresh, "bready(?)" flavor). I did not enjoy my usual favorite item at other spots, the jelly donut. The strawberry jam was overly sweet and tasted low quality (mostly like preservatives with the strawberry flavor utterly cooked off). I wish the texture was pillowy and the flavor of the donut itself higher quality (since these donuts are marketed as specialty/gourmet). They shine based on what fancy flavor is put on top. My daughter requested seafood for her birthday dinner so I headed to Adam's Poughkeepsie location…read more If you can find a parking space, remember to bring a quarter with you because at this location, you are required to insert a quarter to rent the cart. Presumably this is because of the proximity to City Of Poughkeepsie, but I see no reason for it. This location has a bit of a confusing situation because you really need to remember which entrance you use so you can get back to your vehicle without having to circle the entire building with an overflowing cart of groceries. They are pros and cons to shopping here. Staff is extremely friendly to the point where you feel like you're at a neighborhood small grocery. But this place is massive with an abundance of imports and unique offerings from around the region. I belong to a farm cooperative, so I don't usually need vegetables. However, in this case, I did shop produce to locate some organic options to serve with the scallops and shrimp. The presentation is wonderful, but the prices are outrageous. Year over year, the same items that I purchased at Adam have increased by at least 30%. Some of that is due to the current geopolitics, but some of it is just plain exorbitant pricing. My purchase: A stop at Seafood to make sure they had 2 pounds of sea scallops approximately $24 per pound- wild caught. And the colossal shrimp more than $20 per pound also wild caught. Next stop a birthday cake - everything looks wonderful and I'm sure that there are items that are not mass produced with lots of fillers, but idea say that they probably use the same cake mixes as the less pricey supermarkets. Regardless, I had no time to bake so I picked up a 6 inch carrot cake - $26. And a fresh fruit tart 9 inch $29. Ouch, one note about the fruit tart is that the strawberries were not hold which makes for very.com cumbersome dining. You serve a lovely piece of fruit tart, and your guest has to dissect the strawberry to take the leaves off. It doesn't look that great and it is not appetizing. A quick stop to pick up organic broccoli. What the heck! Roughly $12 for two bunches of broccoli. I must be out of my mind. It was a birthday and I don't have any broccoli at home so I bit the bullet Over to the cheese counter where you can find exceptional values, and Exceptional imports My pic today was Bulgarian feta cheese, which is not easy to find, a beautiful French Camembert, and a block of Gouda. A loaf of bread, and a quick run to the clearance section at the back of the store where I scored pretty well with about 2 pounds of beautiful grapes for two dollars and a dragon fruit for under two dollars. A 12 pack of Parker General rolls $2.50 a quick run past the pasta department for the Italian produced linguine and onto the cash register. My cart was full and I knew my wallet would be empty soon so I headed home. Shopping at Adams is an experience rather than a chore. Please don't go on an empty stomach because you will soon regret it. You're not gonna find samples here for tasting, but you can ask at the cheese counter if you're not sure about a potential purchase and they will oblige. I do .

We started off with freshly baked rolls and artisanal butter which was delicious and they asked us throughout the meal if we wanted more. For my first course I chose the garlic and butter drenched escargot which was deliciously marinated. Then I had the chicken in cream sauce with potato purée. Delicately delicious. And lastly my four layer chocolate in a glass had different chocolate and other flavors at each layer point. Overall a feast for the senses. Our student servers were charming and patient.
