First visit, was rudely treated, because my volume button was acting up (non-functional, then holy high water, it worked only in the store!). The employee rudely treated me like I was dumb or something. Very irritated at her, ZERO stars for that British bloke. Of course, the button malfunctioned again once I went home, then totally stopped working. Went again later in the week, a very helpful younger Asian dude helped me & he exchanged my iPhone, since it was still under the one year warranty. Five stars for that buggah! Well, after dropping off my phone for the battery replacement program for all iPhone SE, 6, 6s, 7, and their Plus counterparts, I figured I'd write a quick review update, hard to believe it's been about 8 years since I wrote a review for here. If you have one of these iPhone versions and haven't heard about this battery program, Apple started it after it was discovered that they purposely slowed down these phones due to aging battery life. If you feel like your phone has slowed down, I'd recommend taking advantage of this program. There is a cost of $29 (normally replacing a battery is $79) and he program goes to the end of 2018. If they have the batteries in stock, it'll take 2-3 hours to do so you can do some other shopping in the mall while you wait. I'm definitely not a good "wander around the mall aimlessly" kind of person so after 10 minutes at Whole Foods, I was thoroughly bored. Anyway, it did give me a chance to update this review and have some coffee at Starbucks. I still think the staff at this Apple Store and all the other ones I've been to are well trained and always friendly. I'm definitely still an Apple Fanboi and still use numerous Apple products...2 iMacs, a MacBook Pro, 2 iPads, and a couple iPhones, I still enjoy using their products. read more

I tried to order a replacement battery case for my phone through the Apple site, forgetting that it's a battery (duh!), so they won't ship it separately to Hawaii. However, the website did show that the Kahala Apple store had the case I needed in stock, so I headed up in the evening after the traffic died down a bit. Parking is always squirrelly in the lot, but I was lucky and able to snag a space pretty quickly. Once in the store, I told them what I needed and that the website showed they had the battery cases in stock. They didn't have any out on the display, but an employee was able to radio in the back for them to bring one out. She was able to use her handheld point of sale system so we could check out right there. The system emailed me my receipt and the case was good to go! I definitely recommend checking online to see if they have what you need in stock, since it made the transaction very smooth. read more

I love the Apple Store! My pc died and I was looking for a replacement. I couldn't decide whether to buy an Apple (which I really want) or go with a pc for a cheaper price. I just wanted to hear reasons why I should get Apple so I could convince the husband. I went in and someone greeted me right away and asked if they could help me. I said I wanted to look at the imacs and she directed me to where they were. I was hoping that someone would actually talk to me about it, but right after I reached the imac, another Apple representative came over and asked me what I was looking for. After a very informative conversation, Craig gave me tips that would save me money and other ways I could use my existing Apple products while I decided if I really wanted to spend $1800. So after buying a $6 HDMI cable at Best Buy, I hooked up my PC monitor to my Macbook Pro and voila! I got a larger screen that I was looking for to do my work. I appreciated his knowledge and honesty and coming up with different solutions for my problem. I don't want to consider a PC anymore, I know I want an Apple product just based on their service. One of the stores in kahala mall i hang out in. Mainly to play with line of star wars droids. that is made by sphero. Its a lot of fun connecting my iPhone or iPod to the droids. And controlling them. Seeing what they can do. Its just fun to see those droids' expressions. Aside from that i look also to see what new bose headphones are available. Excellent service again from the beginning to the end of my trip to Apple Store at Kahala today. Every staff who helped us were courteous, knowledgeable and prompt. 1. We brought a MacBook 12" rose gold for my daughter. 2. Brought in an IPhone 6 with the screen slightly detached from phone. The Iphone technician evaluated the phone and notes it's due to swelling of the battery. He offered to replace the phone for $29, which is fantastic. Staff Hal patiently helped us with setting up the new computer, backup the old phone onto the new computer. He also showed us several cool tricks on her trackpad, saving docs separately from iCloud, etc. Lastly he got us going with getting the new phone and using the backup from the new computer to restore the data and get it going. He did a nice positive transfer to a coworker to monitor the phone data restoration since he's shift was finished. All in all, we are very satisfied with our overall experience. I prefer this Apple store because you can get an appointment and it is not as crowded as the other location. We need an Apple store on the west side!!! I'am just saying, if anyone out there was wondering where they need to put the next Apple store. I came in to figure out what was going on with my computer. It was running slow, no matter what I did and I never had enough memory etc. etc. They were very patient with my non-participating computer. Sorry it's a long story. I initially bought an iPhone 13 Pro color gold, AirPods Pro and USB-C at the Kahala Apple store. I wanted to finance it but I had to pay cash as my new credit card hadn't arrived and they won't accept emailed info. I gave the iPhone 13 Pro a few days but had buyers remorse. I went back 3 days later to upgrade to the IPhone 13 Pro Max 256GB (I love it, even though it's very large) in green color. I wish it came in more feminine pretty colors like Pink Gold. I do want to address the ordeal when I came back in for the exchange. I had to speak to 3 sales people !?! Thank goodness for sales consultant #3 JAN. She's very knowledgeable and understood what I wanted. She helped me do interest free 24mo finance all by herself, step by step, no problem. Had my credit card. No activation fee. After over 2 hours, I finally left feeling exhausted but VERY happy. Jan is a smart, spunky older lady w short silver hair and glasses. Jan also spent time giving me cool tips on the new iphone features and introduced me to some new products that I will add to my collection in the coming months. To Jan, I give her 5 stars. Bravo ! I was thankful and tried to tip her, but she couldn't accept. So I would like Apple Kahala to give Jan a bonus or at least buy her lunch, for not losing a life long client. And she should be paid extra to help train some of the sales newbies. The other 2 sales girls would've lost me as a client: 1 star. I was dropped from girl #1 who kept going to the floor lead on every finance question. (The lead looked confused as well) I got handed off to girl #2 Jaz. who I couldn't believe came w attitude. Anyway I kept saying let's reset. Jaz says, "You were here the other day so you still need to go over the finance options ?" Then says sighing, "Let's just get this...(over with?!?)" She didn't want nothing to do with me. I felt a horrible pit in my stomach and almost walked out... But I'm glad I asked for a different sales person. Too bad the Apple store has unqualified sales staff who turn on bad attitudes if she thinks she can get away with it. As a customer I would like to have a nice buying experience. Very disappointed. My family and I have been loyal apple customers for decades. I still love apple products. Just not their return policy and corporate structure. I tried to return or exchange an unopened Apple TV today. I purchased on September 28, 2022 along with $3,695.07 worth of stuff. So yes I did pass the 2 week return policy, but was not given any consideration to even exchange and unopened Apple TV!!! I never even got to speak to the store manager. 2 stars because I still like the products...I like the people that work there...I just don't like a 2 week return policy. Which I didn't realize was only 2 weeks. Better to buy apple products else were for a longer return policy. I know that AT&T also recently gave me a much higher trade-in value for my daughters iPhone. Beware of 2 week return policy!!! read more

I had probably the best experience at an apple store at this location due to a great service rep, Thomas. I was wanting to get the new Apple Watch 7 so I walked in with my son and was greeted by someone who welcomed me and got to know what I was looking for that day. I told him I wanted to get an Apple Watch and he had me wait by the watch table while he found someone to help me. Thomas was my rep and he helped me with the sizing and showed me the colors and screen sizes of the watches. I was able to find my perfect watch and Thomas was very patient with me while I decided which one I wanted. I had my son with me and he was getting antsy but I didn't want him to touch any of the iPhones but Thomas was totally fine with him playing games on the new SE phone and was very friendly to my son to make our visit very family friendly. Okay so a couple days ago I decided to take a quick look at my iwatch to check the time and new messages like I would usually do but this time around I wasn't able to do that. All I saw was the inside of my watch! The faceplate had fallen off and my friend found it laying in the floor! I was crying. So upset because my life literally fell into pieces. Especially because there is a sentimental value to the watch. It's from my brother who I love very much. :( Anyway, I decided to make an appointment online to talk to someone at the Genius Bar. I was expecting to shell out some cash for a new watch because I have no warranty on my watch. This is a first generation iwatch that was a gift purchased from Best Buy. But guess what? This review is for the Genius Bar at the Apple store here in Kahala Mall. The store is located kind of at center of the mall nearer to Starbucks and Whole Foods. In fact, if you pass Whole Foods on the left and then walk into the entrance there with Starbucks on the right, keep walking straight into the mall and the Apple store will almost be straight ahead. Apple products have been in my life for quite awhile now. After a Sprint clamshell and several previous hand held PDA's like my PalmOne Treo and smaller metallic light pink version (the name escapes me) that followed my ever beloved Honolulu Cellular non-digital, analog Nokia phone, I finally gave in and tried a Samsung Android. The Samsung phone was probably a little too customizable for my taste as I really wasn't interested in needing to do any programming but that panoramic camera feature was one I really appreciated tremendously! Those panoramic photos were amazing! They would capture the entire scene as a horizontal photo rather than the human eye, corner to corner, tapered-ends shape (that's is the best way I can describe the effect), which is what an Apple phone does not yet do! (Most ppl don't know about the Android vs. Apple difference in panoramic photos, btw, since most ppl either start with the android or apple they first started with, never switch between apple and android products, or almost never use their phone's panoramic camera feature.) If anything, this is likely the one major feature I'd really like to see improved in Apple phones: For Apple phones to simply calculate panoramic shots as an entire horizontal shape rather than as a corner to corner eye shape! :D If that could happen, the iPhone would become even more fantastic! :D About my most recent genius bar visit: Since the Ala Moana store is usually central between my residence and work location, I am not often here at this store but whenever I am needing help from both my cell phone carrier Verizon and for my Apple iPhone, I might usually come to this Kahala Mall store for assistance. You see, the Verizon at Kahala Mall opens until 9pm on weekdays but the Verizon store on Keeaumoku Street closes much earlier like 730pm. So it happened that after changing out my iPhone battery, my phone stopped being able to hear phone calls, that is, unless I have a bluetooth or attached output device like airPods or a headphone. So strange! :( After visiting Verizon who troubleshot that I'd need to see Apple for hardware issues, I came here to this store for help. Although I did not have an appointment, the time was 8pm and they were able to fit me into their schedule. The genius who helped me was very personable and nice. Using his Apple troubleshooting device, he helped me through the process of figuring out how to help my phone recover. There were wait times where my phone needed to work through downloads and such but the genius guy stayed to ensure the phone would get to its next step soon as the last step was achieved. To me that's great customer service. There were times I'd ask him questions and he'd ask me so it felt like we were getting to know each other exactly like how a business gets to know its customers. At the end of the visit, the genius gave me options to take to prepare me for various possible scenarios of that night's download. Well, my phone still does not work after the last visit which means I'll have to return but now I know for sure that whether it's the Ala Moana store or this one, I will get the same great service at either store. Best way to visit the genius bar is to make an online appointment but if you don't have an appointment and need to walk in, depending how busy they are, they might be able to fit you in. I was shopping for a new laptop when an older man came in with his laptop and said it needed to be fixed. The problem? He said he was receiving too many emails and wanted to close his Gmail account. And the sales person was totally unflinching, helped him deactivate his email account and asked if there was anything else she could do for him. Just incredible customer service. The sales person helping me (Andrew) was so knowledgeable and really helped me make sure I got the laptop that best suited my needs. I'll absolutely be back. read more

After visiting the Apple Store at Ala Moana and being told it was a 6 hour wait to see a service rep, I drove to the Kahala Store. Saw a representative, informed them of the issue with my iPhone camera & was seen in 5 minutes after checking in!!! The iPhone camera is displaying pictures/video with a purple tint. Mark checked out my iphone and said he would order a new camera which would take about 5-7 days. If after replacing the camera, the issue remains, a new iPhone would be provided. Mark provided great customer service & was prompt! It took all off 20 minutes to get the new camera parts ordered!! read more

My husband just wanted a new cover for his IPad so he had to stand in several lines to get service although they knew what he wanted. They just instructed him to move from one line to another. When he finally got his turn after waiting for half an hour. The told him to come back in two hours for his appointment to get a cover. He couldn't believe the poor service & the uncaring attitude of my husband's time while he knew exactly what he wanted & would have been gone in less then five minutes of service. My phone was hacked via apps installed by a third party and not only did apple not take me seriously but they tried to make it my fault that all my contacts, and other valuable information was spread over the web. If I made a mistake and clicked something don't you think that the ppl who have control over that technology to be able to help. NOPE! Came here because I needed a replacement for my iPhone 6 as it had an unfortunate encounter with a vat of boiling hot oil while I was attempting to deep fry a turkey. All I can say is, "Thank goodness for Apple Care!" After a quick phone call (on my wife's phone), I was able to arrange an exchange of my deep fried iPhone for a brand new one. I had never been to the Kahala Apple Store (I usually go to the Ala Moana location). I found the store to be much smaller (but less crowded) than the Ala Moana location. The employees were SUPER helpful. The parking was really crappy (but that's not their fault) and it's pretty crappy at Ala Moana too, so pick your poison. . . read more

I refer to the Apple Store as my favorite toy store having a collection of their products in my possession which include a MacBook Air, iPhone, iPad and an iPad mini. All of which I'm still trying to master all of It's amazing capabilities but like my brain and the majority of the population I've managed to accomplish probably a fraction of the total capacity....thus the "Genius Bar" at all the Apple Stores. Imagine if you had the ability to know everything there is to know..... You could Rule the World! or at least be Rich.....Wake Me Up! I'm dreaming again(.....sighhhhh). Any way getting back to this review. Apple Stores can be found everywhere, most commonly at Major Malls. Just look for the Iconic Apple logo or large gathering crowds. Or simply check your location apps on your iPhone. Deserving of nothing less than "5Twinklers" this Kahala Mall location is consistent with all Apple Locations that I've visited here in the Islands and on the Mainland. The attributes of this business truly reflects upon serving the customers that have made them stand above the rest. Friendly, knowledgeable,efficiency and quality products will retain me as Loyalist for ever. Kahala Store also not answering phone so all calls go to Tech Support somewhere in the SKY. How do you even get information on availability at store if you need to talk to mainland. So call drops to Apple Computer Customer Service in the SKY, SKY. I think the SKY is in California. Representative told me why my iPad ordered Nov 13 is delayed. We have issues with shipments to Hawaii due to the battery. HA HA So I said strange, 3 watches, two iPhones made it here direct from China, vis Louisville to clear customs in one week, only requires it package has the battery identifier on it. One iPad came from CA via FedEx in 2 days. How come Best Buy, all Apple Stores on island, military stores, Target, Costco, etc. have it in stock? UH battery, UH battery. Yay for giving price adjustments for people that bought BF sale item before hand. Went in on BF and got back $56 for my ipad4 and a cover. Also Apples return policy in Hawaii is nuts(in a good way). Five Stars for the ONE to ONE classes $99/year. I have avoided this store since it opened because I had nothing Apple. Twelve months ago my ghetto flip phone finally broke and I unwillingly made the switch to the iPhone. I still avoided the Apple store because there were always so many kids and young people in the store who already know how to use all these Apple products. While the iPhone has definitely made my life easier, there's been a huge learning curve for me since I can still remember when cassette tapes and VHS were the bomb. I have since acquired a MacBookPro and an iPod so I decided I needed to learn how to use these devices. My first class was "Getting Started" which was a free class. This was a great introduction for idiots like me who can't quite make the switch from PC to Mac. Since this was my first "real" computer class EVER, it was quite an eye opener and I signed up for the One to One classes so I could really learn how to use these things. For $99/year you can take all the classes you want and they are all ONE to ONE (no other students in these sessions, so only the teacher knows how Apple-illiterate I really am). They said you can sign up as many times as you want for a year and I've already gone twice since I signed up 2 weeks ago. I plan to go every week or more until I know how to use all the different "toys" (i.e. Mobile Me etc.) so that comes out to be less than $2/class. What a deal. I've had Cheri at this store both times and she has been very patient with me. I guess it's true: once you go MAC, you never go back. read more

During Thanksgiving weekend, my iPhone 12 Pro just stopped working. It shut off and a picture of connecting it to a laptop showed up with a link for Apple Support at the top every time I tried to turn it on. I finally busted out the old iPhone charger, connected it to my laptop, but my iPhone could not be read by my laptop, which was odd because I had NEVER had that experience before. Anyway, I booked an appointment with a "Genius" at the Kahala Apple Store. Once they ran diagnostics on my iPhone, I was told that my hard drive was shot and dead and I would need to pay $600 to replace it, so, I asked why my iPhone stopped working suddenly, and they told me it malfunctioned because of the most recent update. My iPhone 12 Pro was less than a year old. I was so upset. I asked them why I had to pay $600 to repair it when it was not my fault and they told me "it's just company policy". Then, I was using my old iPhone 8, so I asked the Genius guy if I could trade it in for the iPhone 13 or 14, so he flagged a sales person down. She was very helpful and since it was Black Friday, they had deals, so I was hopeful and excited because secretly, I was itching to update my iPhone, but, once again, Apple shattered my hopes and dreams. I was told that since I was not with one of their partnered phone service companies, I could not trade my iPhone 12 Pro in for a new one, so, I asked if they had payment plans and once again, I was denied of that option. I was told I would have to pay full price for a new iPhone or the $600 to get my iPhone 12 Pro fixed. I told them "thanks but no thanks" and left abruptly. This is the SECOND time Apple has screwed me over with their ridiculous greedy "company policies". I love iPhones and I'm not switching to an Android...EVER. However, next time I have an issue with my iPhone, I'm going straight to my phone carrier. Screw Apple stores! They have done nothing but caused me stress and ANY product you buy from the Apple Store costs an arm and a leg. I'm sick of them. read more

Checked in and was assigned to sit near the Genius Bar where I had to wait until I noticed that someone who was there after me was helped for the same type of service of picking up a phone for the same repair. Terrible customer service experience. Plenty of staff standing and not providing any attention to waiting customers or checking in with them. Management should train employees to check in with customers waiting near the back or Genius Bar to see the status. Overall it should not take 45+ mins to pick up a phone, especially when it was apples fault to begin with by providing faulty batteries to consumers and marketing it as a do good for customers by charging only $29 when it should of been free. I even got an iPhone 8+ before the story broke about these faulty batteries. read more

I came here because Apple gave a $100 gift card when I purchased my new MacBook online. I really wished that they just gave me an additional $100 off my purchase, but I can't really complain. I stopped by to get a thunderbolt to gigabit ethernet adapter. My new MacBook had no ethernet port so I needed a way to connect and this was the solution. Right when I walked in, an Apple Store employee helped me right away, and within minutes he directed me to the product he thought I needed. I verified with him that the device could handle over 100 Mbps of data per second and he double-checked with a co-worker. His co-worker said yes and I purchased and was on my way! What I thought was really cool was that the worker scanned my gift card on the spot rather than have me wait through a line. That made my purchase really fast and myself really happy. read more

First time here at this location and it was a very good experience. Since, we were in the area, we decided to stop in because my nephew and I needed to have our phones checked. We were originally on our way to the Ala Moana location, but I remembered that a AT&T guy told me that the Kahala Mall location was a better choice...he was right. We got to the store and there was a crowd, but not like the Ala Moana location. We were immediately able to sign in and it was about a 10-15 minute wait and we were able to have both of us on ONE appointment. It didn't take long until one of the techs were able to assist us. He was able to work on both phones, since my phone was an easy fix. Our tech guys was AWESOME! We were there for a while, but we didn't mind because my nephew needed to get his phone fixed. After about an hour or so, my nephew walked out with a NEW phone and my phone was working well. The service there was Great. Our guy was very helpful and explained everything about what was happening with our phones and also gave us tips. This location is very good and all the workers/techs there are very friendly and patient. I would definitely come back to this location. read more

It's so nice to have an Apple Store at Kahala Mall, which is (a) indoors (and, therefore, air-conditioned and not slippery-when-rainy) and (b) so much less congested than Ala Moana. The Kahala Apple Store staff are really friendly and helpful without being overbearing, and their head store manager is really enthusiastic -- she actually cried at the grand opening, which seemed a little unusual at first, but I've seen her working at other times, and I guess that's just how much she cares about her work. (Go figure, right?) A great business for Mac lovers to have on our side of town! read more

I love my iPhone 3G, but I was here to check out the 4 and the 4S models, along with the iPad and iPad 2. Only in Feb 2011, I got my first and current iPhone and am looking to upgrade - for the right price. Most of the price plans include a 2 year contract with AT&T, but I just want the phone only without having to bear the cost of a 2 year agreement. So, I came to the Apple Store to see if I can do just that. The Apple store at Kahala Mall is the closest location to me, since I live in the area. There is usually alot of people there, surfing the internet and buying stuff from there, so you know it's pretty legit. Apple products are almost always more expensive than the competitors, but I have found out that Apple makes consistent and good products that are basically indespensible to have in our daily lives. Whether you are on the go and need your mobile device for work, or whether you use the mobile device for games and for play, any Apple device will suit your needs in this age of technology and social media. With all that said, this Apple Store in Kahala Mall stands out since it has pure white walls and plenty of blue shirt staff to help you with anything you need with Apple. This Apple store carries a variety of accessories for your mobile devices, but it tends to get pricey as well. I usually price compare on eBay before making the decision, but if I have to have it right away, I just buy it at the Apple store without any rhyme or reason. Well, the staff here are very curteous and patent with me and my questions. I asked about the particulars of the iPhone 4 and 4S and any indication when the 5 will be coming out. They didn't answer the last question, but it's pretty much on alot of people's minds. I left the store thinking about upgrading my iPhone, but my 3G still works fine, so I will hold onto it until it poops out.Just like a car my iPhone is. If it still works, I don't really feel the need to replace it. The last time I was here was getting my 3rd generation iPod nano fixed, which was back in 2010 sometime. I got a replacement unit at a cost of $70, until I had no use for it when I got my iPhone. Overall, the Apple store is here to stay and I hope that the iPhone 5 gets here this fall, just in time for the holidays. This store seems to be the smallest of the 3 on Oahu, but hey, better than nothing! Nothing, as in reference to the amount of Apple Stores on Maui. So sad and pathetic, I'm telling you. It wasn't as crowded as its Ala Moana counterpart, which makes for a better experience and customer service. I popped in to test out the new Watch. Even though I'm a die-hard Apple fan, I'm just not sold on it feature-wise, and especially for the $350 entry fee. ​And, I have an iPhone 6S Plus to buy in a few months! read more

I wanted to purchase a bose speaker today. After finding the same one in multiple stores and on amazon for $40 cheaper I asked a staff member about their price matching policy. I was blown away by the amount of effort it takes for them to honor a price. She basically said I should go to target because in order for them to price match they need to call the store and make sure the item is in stock and a bunch of bullshit I've never heard from anyone. You obviously didn't want my money so like you suggest I will buy elsewhere. Moral of the story, this store is not out to help you it's out to force you into paying store price by playing so dumb you don't want to deal with price matching. read more

I have bought almost every single one of my apple products from this location. Why almost? UH bookstore has better sales on laptops sometimes, so I've gotten both of my macbooks from the UH bookstore. The reason I go to the Kahala location over the Ala moana or Waikiki locations is because there seems to be a ton more people at those two locations. I am usually helped as soon as I walk into Kahala's Apple store. One time it took me 15 minutes of standing around trying to grab a worker's attention. But it only happened once. I'm willing to let it slide. Yes, Apple products are a lot more expensive than PCs but my Mac lasted me 5 years before the battery died. Now I can only use it if it is plugged into an outlet. I love how everything is so easily transferable from my iphone/ipod to my laptop. Apple products are also a lot prettier.... :) read more

The staff at this store is always very accommodating and pleasant to deal with.. might be something to do with the type of people who usually end up coming here :) Definitely worth driving all the way out there to get service or other things done! read more
