I had not been to Apollo since my HS days where we would get tasty breakfast sandwiches on the cheap. I was in the area on a Saturday morning, was hungry and had time to kill so I made my way to Glenoaks & Magnolia. Parking is very limited. Drove into the lot and drove right out. Lot was full. Drove around the block and found parking in front of nearby Domino's. The curb looks like it was formerly 30 min (Green?) parking only but had been half-painted over but there were really no other open parking options nearby. Walked up to the window and ordered the $5 breakfast sandwich with bacon and fried eggs. I remember this sandwich in my younger days. It was good, cheap and had lettuce, tomato and mayo. So I ask the Korean guy (owner?) behind the counter to make sure it came with that and he was like "no, it only comes with 4 pieces of bacon and 2 fried eggs"... Seriously?? I remember clearly it had lettuce & tomato with it... and mayo. AND... prior to goin there, I checked out Yelp to look at some food pics and there it is, a breakfast sandwich WITH lettuce and tomato. So what happened? I thought that was weird. The breakfast sandwich was fine, although lacking. Bacon was good. Eggs were good. I added ketchup... Standing outside waiting for your food and being disappointed was one thing but being bugged by a homeless guy for change after he has approached everyone else in the vicinity is another. Probably best not to eat at the tables outside if you want some peace while eating your meal. I ate mine inside the air conditioned dining area. Pretty disappointed at the meal I had at Apollo. It didnt live up to what I remembered it to be. It's too bad. I wont be coming back. Oh, I almost forgot. It's CASH ONLY... I had just given a good cash tip at the car wash prior to coming to Apollo so I only had $6 on me. haha... All i could afford for drinks at the time was a cup of water. I really don't want to write a bad review because I've been coming here for like two decades but with everything that's going on with covid, I would like to suggest that maybe the cashier who takes cash not handle food or drinks. He is always so nice and was wearing gloves but it's the same set of gloves that touches cash all morning then presses down all around on my coffee lid...maybe have the customer do that for themselves so you aren't responsible for contamination or adding to the spread of Covid? Maybe look up some advice or training guides online for restaurant specific sanitation? This has to be a violation of current guidelines, not to mention a major gross out, pandemic or not. Hard to eat the breakfast I was so excited about. Can't drink this coffee. Just really disappointed. I hope this review is seen as constructive. Plus side is that they are nice, and fast. read more

My family and I love getting breakfast burritos here. My husbands been getting his here since high school days from the original owners. We Usually order here every Saturday.. but the past few times have been very disappointing. After about 3x of purchasing 4 burritos each time and being disappointed, I don't think we'll be coming back. Not sure if it's a change in cooks or what, but they've become very inconsistent. These last times, the meat is either NOT chopped up or barely chopped and mixed with the eggs and potatoes. So when you take a bite it's either all potatoes, all meat, or egg. Then there's barely any cheese. I opened it up today to find a quarter or an American cheese slice. Again, they've become very inconsistent and sad to say there goes our breakfast burrito spot. The breakfast burrito was tasty, as everyone else said, I got a sausage with extra meat, add hash browns! In fact, I ate it before taking a photo, tried some salsa with it and that was good, too. The reason for less stars was definitely unease with the Covid practices. The line wasn't very clearly marked out, so people were sort of milling around outside and the cashier was handling the food bags and money and everything. I would just be cautious, but I'm looking forward to returning and hopefully updating my review! read more

The food here is great and the staff is great. I love this place and want to see it here forever. Been coming here since I was a kid with my pops. However there are some drawbacks. If you see more than 2 people in line or waiting for their food be prepared to wait a long time. Speed is not their strong point but great tasting food is. Another downside is if the restaurant is packed you might get some hit or miss presentation and lackluster food. The old man who usually cooks is great, the young guns who try to help out do their best. I love Apollo and will always come back but you gotta close that door and turn on the AC my guys. Hey y'all. Another breakfast burrito review! So...if you've been reading my other reviews, you know I have a thing for breakfast burritos Enter Apollo I've been driving my this place for countless years... having never tried it out until this weekend Wanting to try something different...I had the slight memory of Apollo's sign and looked them up on Yelp I would say the consensus you probably have read this far is pretty spot on. The burrito is pretty damn good. One thing I really like...the eggs. So fluffy...the way scrambled eggs should be made. Hash browns/ potato's were a bit on the lean side...and that's ok by me. Overall... a well balanced burrito of bacon, eggs and potato. This is not really a shareable sized burrito...not the size of a small infant like you get from Lucky Boy or Gold Star...but I'd say the quality is far superior I prob would have liked the salsa to be already in the burrito and I'd prob order it that way next time Also, the price differential from the actual menu in store versus ordering via Yelp or Grubhub is about +20% more per item. Given that the prices are pretty fair to begin with the extra $1 to $2 per item isn't really a deal breaker for me for the convenience of using the app but you can call in and place the order through the phone and avoid the up charge. I also order a stack of pancakes and the fluffiness continues...the pancakes were heavenly. These guys know what they're doing In a nutshell...this might be one of my new go-to locations and I won't be afraid try them again for lunch But why the glowing review and 4 stars? Not too thrilled with the different prices for app ordering versus in person...especially if I'm picking up the food and not getting it as delivery. Also given their breakfast popularity the parking lot (while big) can fill up and be a pain in the rear to get a parking spot. read more

I really wanted to like this place. Maybe my experience was a fluke, but it was not a good one and therefore I will not be returning. I ordered the club sandwich combo with an iced tea. It's a pretty standard order for me at diners and such. I asked the cashier what kind of meat was in the sandwich because I wanted to make sure there was no ham. I can eat bacon just fine, but ham and most other pork products make me sick. He assured me it was just turkey and bacon. Problem #1: I got my order and took a big sip of the iced tea. It tasted absolutely disgusting. I don't know how a restaurant can screw up iced tea, but it tasted rancid or something. My friends tasted it as well and agreed it didn't taste good at all. I promptly returned it to the guy at the window and told him it tasted bad. He didn't apologize at all, just was like "Oh, ok." So I asked for water instead... Problem #2: As I was eating my sandwich, I spotted something pink in it. It was ham... (In addition to the turkey and bacon.) Problem #3: I also found plastic wrap in the sandwich... So yeah. Pretty gross and turned me off. At least the fries were decent, though. read more

I love 45 miles from this place, but try to come here once a quarter for one thing...their delicious breakfast burrito! My family has been choosing Apollo for our breakfast burritos for a few years, and we used to love the combination of a delicious burrito at a great price. We didn't mind paying for extra cheese or for avocado to make them even better! Over the last 2 visits though, we have been really disappointed. Their prices have gone up - WAY up! - and the quality and size of the burrito has gone down. On my last visit, the Tortilla wrap wasn't even filled up and had pockets of empty space while I was eating it (a $9.00 burrito after requesting extra cheese and avocado) We are going to give them one last chance before giving up. You either become obsessed or you are weird about American cheese. Lol. The salsa is legit. I personally love the chorizo breakfast burrito. Small mom and pop place that has been around for years. Grew up with the breakfast burritos here. Not many places make their eggs fluffy and moist while the tortilla is crisp and warm. Bacon is my preferred meat selection and my god, does this breakfast burrito pair well with their salsa (great kick). So disappointed to have to write this review. Apollo's has slowly but surely gone downhill over the years. I used to be loyal and got my breakfast burrito almost every day for over 15 years. Within the past few years, The business management changed, and a lot started to change and not in a good way. First they changed their fries to lower quality. They are now always soggy and with an insane amount of seasoning. After a few times I stopped ordering fries. Now the most disappointing decline has been in what used to be their BEST offering, the Breakfast Burritos! The burritos have been a real travesty. They have changed the meat, they don't cook the potatoes or meat well enough and they barely wrap the burritos correctly. Not to mention that they are now always dripping with oil. The decline in the food quality is a travesty. I have given them opportunities time and time again, but the past few times I have ordered I ended up throwing away my burrito because it was unbearable. It pains me to walk away from an establishment I used to love that is been a staple but the food is simply no longer worth it. The decline in quality can no longer be ignored. And neither are the prices they are at now. How they continue to INCREASE prices but continuously DECREASE the quality is beyond me. I hope they will consider going back to their basics, but until then-- the Breakfast Spot is a worthy replacement if you want a great breakfast burrito! read more

This place has gone down hill. The Burger patties have ZERO seasoning and flavor to match.

Myself and a few friends got some burgers and fries to go from here. It was pretty sad. They didn't label any of the burgers (they were all cooked differently, some with cheese, some without etc), so we had to unwrap each burger and open up the burgers to determine which was which. They need to fix there quality of ingredients something is different and I don't like it at all. I've only ever ordered breakfast burritos from here, and man they're pretty darn good. They put just the right ratio of eggs to potato and meat. I order the bacon burrito with extra cheese, the salsa on the side is spicy goodness! You can order at the window or call ahead and pickup (which is what I usually do, to avoid standing around with people around me). The employees wear masks and gloves, and everyone I've seen has been pretty good about wearing masks while ordering. read more

Hands down the best breakfast burritos around! I work across this place and I can't tell you the number of times I've gone here to order their breakfast burrito (which is served all day!). I usually order the bacon burrito with no hash browns and get a side of fries. Their potions for both the burrito and fries, which are crinkle cut fries (amazing) are great. Super filling. I always have fries left over. Their staff is always friendly and super nice when i ask for more salsa for my burrito. I never have to wait long for my food either. I think the most I've waited was about 10 min for my food. They have parking but they share it with two other businesses. Had never been before after 6 years in Burbank- Staff was patient and friendly while we decided what to get Order took quite a bit longer than we would have expected at a place like this Pastrami meat flavor-wise was okay, but bread was really dry and crumbly like it was stale and there was a lot of it- Definitely the weakest pastrami sandwich I've ever had Never was a fan of crinkle fries....I haven't had them in probably 25 years- These were not good fries- Hubby said his Pastrami burger was okay too, but we both agreed we wouldn't go back. Oh, I also couldn't find a public bathroom, which really sucks for people who like to wash their hands before and after they eat.
