I'm visiting Seattle for a conference and a fellow attendee recommended Anthony's. What a disappointment. I used Open Table to make my reservation and requested a seat with a great view. Note, my reservation was for 6pm and the place wasn't busy at all. While there were many tables empty with an unobstructed view, I was seated in a booth away from the window, a step or two up, with people seated in the tables below me and next to the window. I couldn't enjoy the view as I didn't want the folks to think I was staring at them. I should have asked to be moved - so my bad. I ordered a Caesar salad to start. It was dripping in dressing. I should have asked for the dressing on the side so I'll own this one too. Needless to say I didn't enjoy or finish it. I had salmon last night and wasn't sure if I should order scallops or crab cakes. At the suggestion of my waiter I ordered the crab cakes, which came with rice and asparagus. The rice was over cooked and a clump of mush. I'm not sure how they managed to do it but the stem ends of the asparagus were warm and tips were cold. The crab cakes were just ok. The 2nd one had shell in it so I didn't finish it. The highlight of my dish was the ginger. Need I say more about the food? My bill came to right under $70, which also included a glass of wine. I don't mind paying for good food but I do mind paying $70 for Red Lobster quality food. I do however want to compliment Josh Dea, my server. He was efficient and friendly. Pretty view of the pier from the second floor. Very intimate and romantic for dinner. Great service. Our tower appetizer of calamari, shredded beef and seared tuna deliciousness. I wish we ordered two. Very filling and cooked to perfection The shredded beef was so well marinated in a somewhat sweet sauce and the seared tuna had a citrus kick. For our main course -- Ribeye, medium rare. Cooked to perfection. Perfectly seasoned and topped with some type of butter that added even more flavor. Friendly service and quick. Went here last Saturday night with a sizable group mainly because this was the only place that could actually accommodate such a large group. Our reservation was perfect when we got there; 2 tables that were exactly as what was described to our event planner. The views are second to none!! Picturesque setting right down on the water with the Great Wheel and Elliott Bay as a backdrop. I had the crab salad which was to die for and the grilled prawns that were a little overcooked/dry but still edible. The prices were moderately high, but what I would expect from this type of large scale waterfront restaurant. The thing that made the night outstanding was our server, Joel. He was consistently available and quick to fetch another round of drinks while serving a room of 50 people (he had other tables besides ours). Water glasses were also kept full and it felt like our meal arrived quickly given how busy it was. If I was looking for a quiet, romantic, upscale dinner this would not be my first choice. If I could give this restaurant a negative rating, I would. Yesterday's lunch was one of the worst experiences of our dining lives. First, we had to wait 15 minutes for the hostess to seat us even though we were the only people waiting for a table in a restaurant with hardly any one in it. Second, we had to wait another 20 minutes for a server to even come to our table to give us water. We ordered immediately recognizing how bad the service was, and then it took another 20 minutes for the server to come back with our drink order. When the server came back with our drink order, he indicated they were out of the beer he'd recommended so we waited another 15 minutes for the drink to be replaced. Third, our main course never came after we'd been seated for over an hour. When we tried to cancel the order because we needed to leave, the server said it had just come up and couldn't be canceled. Fifteen minutes later he came out and admitted that the order wasn't ready yet, so we asked for our check. The server then said that because of our long wait the restaurant had decided to 'comp" us the entree that was never served and the beer that they were out of as though we should be grateful. Lastly, to add insult to injury, the server neglected to return my credit card at the end of the meal and when I asked him for it back after signing, he argued that it had been returned to me. We went back and forth for a few seconds when he finally reached into his pocket and said, "oh here it is." I never leave bad Yelp reviews, but in this case I feel compelled. read more

Went in after finding this place as I was having a walk along the waterfront despite noticing there weren't many people. Walked up the stairs and told the host I was looking to sit on the terrace outside and begin with a few drinks (I wasn't sure if I was going to have dinner there since it was still pretty early). He looked all kinds of directions for some reason then said I could only do that if I was also going to have dinner. I looked outside to which all of 2 tables had any people at them at all. I took it upon myself to go to the bartender directly which turned out to be far more accommodating and way less dodgy. Waited at the bar for a bit then was finally sat in a great spot and had 4 drinks before leaving. I'd have understood if the place had been even half capacity or something like that since it was just me, but a Tuesday afternoon when there's nobody around seemed like it wasn't so much about saving tables but maybe more having to do with my outfit I wore to be on the waterfront was judged by the host? Seattle's not that kind of place so just seemed odd if it was because I didn't go home to change into chinos and a button up. Anyway. Had the most amazing fried halibut there, but there are a few caveats. First, service started slow. Maitre d brought us water, then we waited.....and waited more until the waitress showed up. My husband & I were staying 2 nights at the Marriott Waterfront and went across the street to Anthony's Pier 66 to celebrate our anniversary. We were seated right away with our drinks served in good time. But our server Elliot was also making drinks at the bar which left us with poor service. Our booth faced the end of the bar where I could watch him make drinks for others to serve while mine was waiting to be served. At this time we also noticed other people too were looking for the server. The food was very good but no refills were provided until requested. When the dessert menu arrived, he did not return for around 15 minutes; we finally asked the hostess to bring our bill and left. I've been to one of the Anthony's restaurants in Bellingham a few times and decided to stop here while visiting the Swedish Medical Center in town. We came at about 6pm on a Wednesday and ate at the downstairs dining room, which had a great view of the water and boardwalk. Our server was friendly, attentive, and made a very good beer recommendation - the Kilt Lifter Scottish ale. Dinner started off well with my mom taking advantage of the 4-for-$24 early bird dinner menu, which featured a decent selection in a four-course style. I'm not a big seafood eater, so I ordered the BBQ meatloaf and a house salad with wasabi vinaigrette. All of our apps arrived quickly and were delicious - the high point for me was the wasabi salad dressing. Mom and dad both commented that the celery in the shrimp cocktail was nice. Unfortunately, service started to go downhill from there. It appeared that our server - the nice gentleman I mentioned earlier - was assigned to a section of 6 or 7 tables, all of which arrived in the 45 minutes after we were sat. If you've ever worked in a restaurant before, you're probably thinking that's a pretty large section for a server and that he must have food runners and busboys backing him up. Nope! In addition to taking orders and running his drinks, our server also ran his own food and bussed his own tables. To compound his busy workload, the kitchen wasn't turnout out food very quickly. Our meals arrived a full 45 minutes after we were done with our appetizers. By that point, we were a little on edge as we watched our server bounce back and forth between the long row of booths along the windows. Dinner finally arrived - my BBQ meatloaf, mom's steak, and dad's salmon, all paired with garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus. Food quality and presentation were both good and portions were just about perfect. We followed up our long meal with a round of desserts - Baileys chocolate mousse and a burnt cream (creme brûlée). So to wrap this wall of text up (sorry), our dining experience was so-so. The food was good but restaurant management needs to do a better job of speeding up service and providing assistance to their service staff (add some bus boys and food runners, please). 3.5 stars. My SO and I decided to stop by Anthony's because we wanted to have a nice meal before heading to an event at Marriott Waterfront across the street from the restaurant. The layout and queueing system upon entering the building was slightly confusing because there was also a less formal dining setting of Anthony's downstairs (upon entering the building), and a more formal dining room upstairs. I saw a couple groups got confused where they needed to check in. Mainly, a few people sort of waited downstairs thinking they were waiting for the dining room (in which they were supposed to proceed upstairs to check in with the host up there instead). For us, we ordered Dungeness crab cakes and northwest chopping (mix of salmon, lingcod, clams and another that I forgot in tomato broth). The food was good and we enjoyed our meal. I thought my cioppini was not too light or heavy as the seafood didn't fill me too much from eating either. My SO enjoyed his crab cakes and thought they were fresh and cooked right. What I was sort of disappointed was service...while our waiter was polite it seemed to be awfully slow (likely becaus he was running around helping at so many tables) from taking the order, checking in on us for drinks and to getting our check. We initially would like to try their dessert after finishing dinner, but because the service was so slow and we were running out of time to go to an event next door, we left without a chance to try it. Came for Seattle Restaurant Week to compare it to the last time we went. And it's still amazing! I got salmon both times and it never fails to please me. It was savory and well done (not dry/overlooked). This time it was served with lemon risotto and asparagus. My friend got the spearhead served with coconut jasmine rice and asparagus. We're really pleased to have experienced another Seattle restaurant week with Anthony's and hope to come back again for their regular menu. In season, as mentioned, was rhubarb which we got their special rhubarb strawberry lemonade (plus a little bit of vodka for $7.50). For dessert we ordered the burnt cream aka creme brûlée and the baileys chocolate mouse. Both deserts were very decadent. The creme brûlée needed a little bit more love aside from it being made in mass quantities! Prior to dinner, we had happy hour waiting downstairs offered 3pm-7pm. We had a couple of oyster shoots (6/$8) and some Riesling. Once dinner reservation was approaching, we were prompt to our table. Service wise: Nicole from the bartending bar downstairs was fairly busy but was very timely in getting our drinks and oysters. Ken was an amazing server for our dinner! The view, the service, the cocktails, wine, and food or all great. We were able to get a table by the window and enjoyed a beautiful view of Seattle and the Sound including a nice sunset with sailboats and fairies on the horizon. The Ahi tuna nachos were excellent and unique, the salmon and halibut were cooked well and had differentiated and delicious sauces, and the Port and crème brûlée were also delicious. The only knock and the only reason I'm not giving it five stars is that it is somewhat on the expensive side and the decor slightly dated for that price point. However the quality of the food and service were excellent and totally worth it for our special occasion. I'd happily return. read more

Beautiful views over Puget Sound but we got stuck in a room way at the end that felt like a convention hall (and yes, there were a few very large groups in that room). Another must try on the seafood. We ordered a 4-course meal, sat by the water view facing the Farris Wheel and the mountain. What a scene! Salmon cracker - interesting appetizer. Good chunk of salmon on a cracker with mash potatoes. Not bad. Clam chowder - good. Nothing too exciting. Garlic prawn - looks like shrimps, not prawn. Not only was the fish to die for, the accompaniment sides were so flavorful. The chef is amazing. If someone had a bad meal and/or experience here, it had to be an anomaly and is not representative. If you opt out of this restaurant because of a bad or not so good review you are missing out. By the way, we sat at the bar for dinner. The only thing that superseded the great view of the sound was the great service by Nichole. She was absolutely awesome with her great wit and so personable not to mention her great service. The view in and of itself is worth five stars, but sadly it's downhill from there. It's a lovely place, you have your choice of downstairs which is more casual with burgers and fish and chips and find dining upstairs. We opted for upstairs as usual because we like to have something besides a burger for dinner and the view of the big wheel is amazing. Was not crowded at all and our server was very prompt bringing us water and taking additional drink orders. Since they have been advertising a lobster special during weekdays we decided that we'd give it a go. My husband started with corn and crab chowder which he said was very good. I had the seasonal salad and since I'm watching what I eat I carefully looked at the ingredients and the type of dressing. It said a dill vinaigrette which sounded ok. It came totally drenched a a creamy dressing which I'm sure was a million calories and in no way the vinaigrette. I would have asked for it on the side or for a different type of dressing and sadly the server was no where to be found so I just ate it. Then the main course. While I know if you have a special it's not going to be like right out of the Maine waters, but this was so dry and tough that it bore little resemblance to a real lobster. I had asked to substitute extra veggies for the mashed potatoes which they happily did, however, they were so drenched in butter I couldn't eat most of them. Note to the kitchen. If someone asks for more veggies instead of potato, doesn't it stand to reason they are watching what they eat and no one needs two tablespoons of butter on their veggies. Rockefeller oysters are amazing here! The best thing is, Anywhere you sit has a fantastic view. It truly is an experience coming here. My family and I came here to celebrate 4 March baby's birthdays including my own and they made each one of us feel just as special with a birthday song and individual dessert which was just amazingly decadent. read more

I came here with the BFF for drinks and to watch her parents leave on the Norwegian. We ordered their watermelon splash and also tried their shrimp cocktail and salmon sliders. The watermelon splash was strong and I wish they could've put a little less to bring out the watermelon flavor. I wanted to try their barbecued oysters on the half shell but they were out of them. We were told that oysters are limited on months that don't have "R's in them. So we had salmon sliders and shrimp cocktails instead. The salmon sliders were alright but kinda dry. Their shrimp cocktail was really delicious, especially the sauce it was in. I probably wouldn't come here frequently for hh but its a nice place to have a drink and enjoy the view. read more

Came to Seattle for the weekend to celebrate my birthday. Came to Anthony's per a friends recommendation saying the food and service was awesome. Let me tell you they did not disappoint! Branden was our waiter and he was on point! To say he had excellent customer service is an understatement. He had extensive knowledge of the menu and made sure we were well taken care of the entire night. My husband and I shared the calamari, the crab cakes (to die for), and the rib eye. The entire meal was incredible. And to top it off, when my husband mentioned to Branden that it was my birthday he brought the tastiest chocolate cake I've ever had. I had issues with the reservation process, host attitude, being rushed out, and the restaurant was incredibly cold so our food became cold very quickly as well.
