Went to Anthony David's for brunch with my parents and had a really good experience. We had an outdoor reservation (definitely recommend one if you're going on a Sunday it was packed and I didn't see many open tables inside or out). Even though it was a hot day, the patio had plenty of shade and it's a nice spot right off Washington Street. Service was great, our server was super attentive. I started with a mimosa, which was good but had a ton of pulp (never seen that in a mimosa before). Not a dealbreaker, but I'm not a pulp person. The iced coffee was really solid though. For food, I got the Southwestern omelet with potatoes. The omelet itself was on the smaller side, so if you come hungry, maybe go for something more filling but the potatoes were excellent. They had a little spice to them, tossed in sauce, and weren't dry at all. Easily some of the best breakfast potatoes I've had. We also split the bourbon-glazed donuts, which were the highlight of the meal. Think munchkin-style, but with a strong bourbon kick in the glaze. Sweet, bold, and honestly the best thing we ordered. Overall, good vibes, good service, and tasty food--just wish the omelet portions were a bit bigger. Would definitely come back, especially for those donuts.

I will come to AD just for their challah French toast over and over again. Great brunch, great service. Fyi in the summer time their outside sidewalk seating is done beautifully, must make a reservation.

It is not a trip to Hoboken without stopping at Anthony David's for brunch! This has been one of my favorite go to places for easily 6-7 years now. Reservations are a must even on weekdays! It is always packed and especially on weekends. Their service is always phenomenal making sure you have fresh drinks and a full glass of water. I highly recommend the mimosas as they are made with fresh orange juice which makes a huge difference in flavor! I highly recommend you get their bourbon glazed donuts to start. They are deliciously fluffy and packed with flavor. I always order the French toast with their famous coconut butter. The bread is perfectly crisp and fluffy making it delicious French toast! I always get a side of their crispy bacon and well done home fries as well. My friend ordered their egg platter and she was throughly impressed as the portion size and how good everything was. They have inside and outside seating. The indoor seating can be a bit cramped depending on where you are seated. It's a cute homey boutique old world feel inside and I highly recommend you check it out if you are in the Hoboken area!

Went to lunch at Anthony David's with my sister the other day. It was an interesting experience. We sat outside, and since tables are tight, we got lunch and a show. Unfortunately, the couple next to us seemed to be having some problems, and by the end of the soap opera of an argument, it seems like they'll be going their separate ways. I say all this to warn to be prepared to be neighbors with the tables next to you. However, now for the food! It's a cute little brunch/lunch spot. I wasn't really expecting much, but the sandwiches were pretty good! We definitely both finished our dishes. She got the burrata panini, which came with prosciutto, burrata, arugula, and I believe a balsamic dressing. I got the crabcake sandwich which came with some kind of aïoli and a brioche bun. Both were excellent. I will say, though they need to pull it back on the dressing on the salads. Or maybe put it on the side. I couldn't even eat my salad because the dressing tasted like straight vinegar. It was pungent lol. The fresh orange juice was great, however, if you intend to get the 5 ounce don't let them talk you into a 12 ounce haha. Fresh squeezed is so rich and sweet, that a 5 ounce would've been plenty. I would be happy to come here again!

Service was great - food/drinks came out in a timely manner & staff was kind. Food was very good (brunch) & loved that drinks were served in wine glasses. Was a little nervous abt the cost of brunch online, but you get a very large serving! Not listed on the menu, but the have gluten free bread available!! Decor is nice inside, especially when decorated for the winter holidays!

This has become my favorite casual spot in Hoboken for brunch and dinner. The service is always solid and the food is delicious. I really like the wild boar ragu with pappardelle for dinner, and the pistachio gelato is a great way to end the meal. For brunch I'd recommend the spicy chorizo eggs benedict. I will definitely be back for more!

We came for the star of the show--the coconut butter French toast--and it did not disappoint. But the real surprise was the Bell & Evans Crispy Chicken Sandwich. The breading was perfectly golden, light, and crunchy, yet packed with flavor. It doesn't come with a sauce, but I added mayo and a side of chipotle aioli, which only took it to the next level (though honestly, it's fantastic even without--this is just coming from a self-proclaimed saucy girl). The restaurant itself is adorable, the service warm and attentive, and both the cappuccino and freshly squeezed OJ were excellent. This was my second visit, and it's safe to say I'll be coming back again and again. I also love that they do brunch all week and dinner.

Yikes... I am not sure where to begin... This brunch was definitely lackluster from start to finish - seating to food to leaving. The crab cake Benedict was okay, nothing to write home about or worth going again. Service was very poor, almost like we were forgotten or an inconvenience... maybe because we were a party of 5? Maybe worth a try... but I'm sure there's other places.

5 stars for an 11am brunch for 7 people. We were seated outdoors and there was no wait, although the tables began filling up. Steady stream of diners but it seemed that the line was moving. Our meals: Espresso donuts drizzled with mocha syrup and sugar Apple cider donuts with cinnamon and sugar -dense and a slight crunch on the outside. Perfect starter for brunch. Smoked salmon Benedict Lobster eggs Benedict Crispy bacon on French toast Benedict Spicy chorizo eggs Benedict - all our meals were rich in flavor and filling. Plates came with house potatoes which were phenomenal. Seasoned well and tender, mixed in with peppers as well. It wasn't "just a side" but made the meal complete. Our friends enjoyed their americanos, lattes, and cappuccinos. Service was friendly and fast, even though we took our time savoring both our food and conversation. We were seated outdoors in 55 degrees and we were comfortable. Walkable to the waterfront parks and Washington Ave to sightsee and walk the calories off :)

This was our first time in Hoboken. We had a fantastic breakfast at Anthony David's in Hoboken! The food was not only great but also visually appealing and well-cooked. Each dish we ordered was delicious, making it a real treat. The service was excellent, with our food arriving quickly and the staff being incredibly friendly. Our waitress, Nicole, stood out for her exceptional service. She noticed that my espresso didn't look quite right and promptly brought over a fresh one without us having to ask. This attention to detail really enhanced our experience. Overall, we highly recommend Anthony David's for anyone looking for a delightful breakfast spot in Hoboken!

    Mojito

This place is exceptional a perfect spot to have a romantic date night or a quick bite to eat! I started off with a Mojito in the house with ricotta, which came with toasted bread, delicious! Then I had the couch with Pepe, but I asked to have it was spaghetti, and it was super delicious and creamy, then I had the roasted chicken with crispy potatoes, and they were absolutely fantastic! Then I had to smoke on the Hudson, which was a beautiful drink and equally delicious. I am in my night with the donuts which are made to order!

The space was not large, but they really made the most of it, offering a decent number of tables with reasonable space between them. My friend and I were quickly seated and immediately greeted by a charming server that opened our bottle of wine (it's BYO) and offered us still or sparkling water. I had read in other reviews that you had to pay for water, so I was not surprised by the $6 bottle of Saratoga that wound up on our bill. In addition to our engaging server and the happening atmosphere, the food was similarly incredible. We decided to order a load of things to share, so that we could try a greater variety. We started with two appetizers that were seasonal Spring additions to the menu. The Hamachi Crudo included five thickly-sliced, tender pieces of Japanese yellowtail sitting in a broth of rhubarb aguachile and topped with white strawberries and basil seeds. It was an unique blend that we would not have expected to work, but boy was it delicious! The sweet toppings infused a load of flavor into an otherwise mild fish. We also enjoyed the Fava-mole, a creamy puree of fava beans studded with balls of hand-pulled mozzarella and pea tendrils, all drizzled with zesty ramp oil. I had not been sure what to expect from the dish, but it offered fresh, bright garden flavors. We also decided to share a pasta course and an entree. The Fettuccini was tossed with spring truffles and maitakes in a light, yet heavily aromatic, wild mushroom cream sauce. It was one of the best dishes I had had in quite some time. Then, as we were waiting on our seafood entree, we received a second pasta, courtesy of the Chef. I had mentioned that I had heard rave reviews about Flour from a server at Heirloom Kitchen, a top NJ restaurant. Apparently, our waiter had let the Chef know about that glowing praise, and the kitchen further verified that positivity with the generous gesture. In fact, they wound up sending out the Linguine with white clam sauce, razor clams, and wild ramps, the other dish about which I had been most curious anyway. Well, it was another winner! It was garlicky, herbaceous, and rich with flavors of the sea. Speaking of seafood, we next received the Branzino 'Bahn mi', a perfectly cooked piece of Mediterranean sea bass with Vietnamese sausage and pickled vegetables. The branzino's crispy skin and flaky, moist interior were excellent, and we loved all of the other smoky and briny flavors on the plate. After all of that excellent food, we would have loved to try one of their appealing desserts, but we were just too full. Between the ambiance, welcoming vibe, and delicious cuisine, our Flour experience was simply divine! It has now became one of my favorite restaurants in the area, and I cannot wait to try their pizza at some point as well.

I was a big fan of both, especially the ricotta, which was so incredibly creamy. For the mains, everyone's fresh-made pasta was excellent. I ordered the Mexican street corn, which was unique, flavorful, and delicious. I also tried some of the spicy rigatoni and loved it. We ended the night with the s'mores dessert, which was rich and chocolatey. Also, the fact that the restaurant is BYOB is a huge plus! The only downside was that I lost an item during our visit. I had a really hard time finding their contact information online, so I had to go back in person to ask about it, which was a bit annoying. Ultimately, they weren't able to recover it, but the food itself was still outstanding.

There was only one other family dining, and the space stayed empty the entire time. The service was genuinely great. Friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere, and a really cute, cozy space. I especially loved the Christmas décor and overall vibe--it felt warm and inviting. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite live up to the prices. The house salad was $13 and honestly one of the most basic, smallest, and most boring salads I've ever had--very underwhelming for the cost. We also ordered quesadillas, a cheeseburger with fries, and grilled cheese with tomato soup. My son enjoyed the burger and fries, and the quesadillas were flavorful, generously filled with chicken and veggies, and came with sour cream, pico, and guac. The tomato soup was tasty, while the grilled cheese was just okay. One small but appreciated detail: canned soda. Cold, crisp, and not flat which is always a win. Lunch for 3 came in just under $100, which felt high given what we received. One frustration was being seated in a tight corner right next to the kitchen even though the dining room was completely empty. We were so close I could literally see into the kitchen and count items on the shelves. On top of that, the hostess repeatedly walked by calling out "corner," which became distracting and honestly a bit irritating. Overall, I liked the vibe, but the food-to-price ratio missed the mark for me. It wasn't bad--just alright.

I've waited a long time to write this review to give antique bar and bakery a fair chance but…read moreunfortunately, they have missed the mark on several occasions. My first visit was for my birthday a few years ago where we ordered a steak dish that was so incredibly fatty that it was inedible. We told our server and they offered to bring us out another, which was also still SO fatty. The experience left a bitter taste in our mouths but we were comped the steak and offered a $100 gift card to use on a future visit. We were in no rush to return and it took almost a year for us to visit again. On this visit I don't recall anything being bad but nothing stood out. Our third and fourth visits ended up being yesterday (Valentine's Day) for last minute brunch and dinner reservations. We were appreciative that they were able to squeeze us in last minute. We weren't too keen on a pre fixe menu, but everywhere appears to have a set menu on the holiday. I ordered the shakshuka which lacked depth of flavor and was very disappointing. Probably the worst shakshuka I've ever had unfortunately. The salad and bread that came with it were both good. My husband ordered the steak sandwich (the other 2 entrees he wanted to try were both sold out). The sandwich was very flavorful but needed to be served on a crustier bread. The skillet pancake had good flavor but was so incredibly dense and could've used more bananas. Valentine's dinner was the straw that broke the camel's back. Out of everything that was offered, the only dish worth mentioning was the lobster pasta. It was spicy, pasta cooked al dente, and a fair amount of lobster chunks. We received our salad promptly but our pasta second course came out before the seafood starter course. We brought it to our server's attention and it still took a long time to receive it. Then we had another long wait for our main course. The steak was okay, mashed potatoes were good, but the peppercorn sauce absolutely ruined the meal. There were too many peppercorns in every bite. Also the Nutella flan they offered for dessert was a far cry from a flan. It wasn't good. I would've preferred their regular desserts as an offering. Service was very lackluster. Overall, I'm very disappointed. I really wanted to love antique given that it has been voted best restaurant in Hoboken, but the service and food are both subpar.

We returned to Drift the other day to enjoy the food and have a classy meal. However, there were…read morecertain aspects that did not live up to our previous experience. The service was still professional and friendly, but the food left something to be desired. Though it was a Thursday evening, the weather was not great, so it was not overly surprising that the restaurant was not very crowded. Because of that fact, the gracious hostess offered us our choice of a few different tables, from a larger booth to a two-top near the window. We opted for the booth that would give us a chance to look out into the restaurant AND to still see the Manhattan skyline. We decided to order some drinks, and I opted for an Espresso Martini, which was not typically something I would have gotten before dessert, but I wanted the extra caffeine! Plus, their version included a caramel cold foam, which enticingly made it extra creamy and delicious. In fact, it was definitely one of the best espresso martinis I had ever had. We were deciding to skip any starters, so we asked for some bread while we waited for our entrees. The plate of focaccia was decent and hit the spot, but we were charged $2 for it, which was not a big deal but also not appreciated. For my entree, I went with the Lobster Bouillabaisse. The broth was flavorful, but there was not much of it. In fact, the dish came with three sweet rolls to dip into the soup, but I could have lived with less given the limited amount of liquid in the bowl. The included blue prawns were good, but the Hokkaido scallops and lobster were chewy. There was also supposed to jumbo lump crab, which seemed to have been replaced by gritty clams. There were also leeks and Yukon potatoes that were sliced in small cylinders and looked fairly similar to each other. The potatoes were bland, cold, and under-cooked. Overall, it was not very impressive for $48. My companion's Prime Filet Mignon was of an unknown size on the menu, but arrived looking smaller than the typical 8-ounces. It was also over-cooked. He did like his mashed potatoes, though. For dessert, we decided to get the Apple and Pear Bread Pudding again, since that had been excellent last time and would hopefully be a redeeming feature of the meal, which it was. The sweet, caramelized brioche had been infused with cubes of fruit, baked, and drizzled with a sea salt caramel. We replaced the designated companion creme fraiche gelato with a scoop of passion fruit sorbet, which was less of an appropriate pairing, but more of an appealing variety to us. While Drift truly offered a stunning space with incredible service, they really could improve their culinary preparations.
