I've visited this location quite a few times over the years. I do not plan to return for a while after todays visit. We were seated in the front small area and right off it was offputting to be seated at a table with a fly just chilling on it. After we sat I noticed the windowsill directly beside me had 3 fly bodies and the one behind my boyfriend had 2. The walls also had food/drink splatters on them. The waitress was nice but a little overbearing with all her suggestions. She recommended a salted caramel spiked cold brew to my boyfriend, I do not suggest you try it. We couldn't quite figure out what was wrong but it just wasn't very good. We were quite surprised when someone dropped off an order of the biscuit beignets, apparently the waitress provided them to us. After the first bite I could tell why they were free, very hard. I thought maybe they were from the day before and they needed to get rid of them. Our food was good. Waffle was very crunchy and delicious, it wasn't overly sweet so the toppings that were sweet paired well. Biscuits and gravy were as expected, fluffy biscuit and creamy gravy. City grits were on point as usual. I was planning 3 stars since the food was good but then we had to wait almost an hour for the check to be brought to us. This restaurant has downgraded to chain status in my book, just eat local everyone and don't waste your time. read more

Around the corner from my aunt's house, as we had family visiting and staying there, I decided we should give this place a try. It's a cute little converted house, and has that nice homey atmosphere when you get it. The servers here do it all. They don't seem to stop as they're taking phone orders, local orders, helping delivery drivers, busing tables, etc. They give a five star service for sure! The menu is pretty standard breakfast location foods. Nothing fancy. Most things come with a side of potatoes. They're more than hashbrowns, less than homefries, but no real flavor so to speak. They're kind of just filler. The food was filling before sending the relatives home, and it was basic enough that everyone found something on the menu that they would enjoy. No real complaints, but nothing over the top outstanding except the service. Oh, and the mugs. They have the cutest little mugs, and you can buy them in an assortment of colors to take home. On Harrison. First time here.Randomly came for brunch. First timers get free beignets. Their beignets are home made, fresh and good. We came at a busy time but were seated within less than 5mins. We had a group of 5 so I'm not sure why they couldn't accommodate considering we waited 1.5 for our food. The food was not that good. Our plates came out at different times and normally that's not an issue but it was spread out about 20 minutes. Orders were messed up and another staff member confronted our server in front of us. Prior to an early morning Sunday estate sale, we had time to kill. I suggested grabbing a bite and my friend suggested Another Broken Egg on Harrison. We found a parking spot in there lot and headed in. Temperatures, contact tracing and sanitizer station were all in order. Tables were spaced out well and they were even able to accommodate a large group of Ochsner staff still in uniform. This was my first breakfast out and I was happy to see how well this location was serving its clients. I ordered my usual Blackstone and my friends both enjoyed the Shrimp and Grits. Lots of oohhhhs and awesssss. There was some comment that it was pretty spicy and I'm not sure if it was specificities this location, but both gals really enjoyed it. They actually ordered another helping of bread, which looked to be a grilled English muffin that served its purpose of sopping up all the extra sauce. After our breakfast, we made our way to the Estate sale, where I snapped up two giant ceramic bunnies, a vintage cotton blanket and Royal Doulton figurine. Thanks Egg for making sure my belly was full and head on straight otherwise I might have ended up with some bad estate sales choices. Every time I go to another broken egg I leave wanting to go back the next day. The food is amazing for breakfast and never misses. The service is always friendly, nice and knowledgeable. And it feels so warm and welcoming inside. The atmosphere or style of the restaurant changes depending on where the location is but they are all amazing nonetheless. read more

Definitely recommend this place for people who are gluten free. My fiancee is and the gluten free menu they provide is one of the most diverse and lengthy ones of all the establishments we visit. The food is good. I had the cinnamon roll french toast and enjoyed it a lot. The wait time on weekends is obviously long so take advantage of the Yelp virtual waitlist. I added my party to the waitlist at 11:51 am and it gave us an expected service time from 12:37pm-12:52pm. We ended up getting the "Your table is ready" text at 12:57pm so all things considered it wasn't bad at all, especially given it was a holiday. we decided to go to brunch at Another Broken Egg and thought that 12:30p would be a better time with less people and rush; we were wrong. the waitlist on yelp was closed and when we got to the restaurant they said the wait times was 45mins. we put our name down and we're thinking about where else to go when 15mins later we got a text saying our table was ready. we sat and ordered the beignets, pancake trio, mardi gras omelette and the southwest salad. each item was good - good portion size and excellent flavor. the standouts were the pancakes and the omelette, the beignets were also good so a little smaller than i expected overall, a nice brunch place with good food; the service still needs to improve because while our server was good the host could not handle the rush read more

I've been here a few times, and it never disappoints! They have new dishes to try all the time so it's always worth coming back. I went in March, and they had a delicious Corned Beef and Brussels hash dish (with garlic aioli which was AMAZING!) They have a great selection of unique mimosa flavors like Lemon Blueberry and Strawberry St. Germain, which are always fun for breakfast. Atmosphere wise, the place has a traditional bed and breakfast vibe with outdoor seating on the veranda! It has a very unique New Orleans vibe and visitors from out of town always find the place charming! Indoor there's a ton of windows which allows for a lot of natural light to come in which is always nice. There's a ton of Southern inspired dishes -- some of my friends ordered the Floridian omelette which has crab meat in it! There's a Mardi Gras omelette with crawfish and andouille. & you can't really go wrong with the chicken and waffles (as long as you have time for a food coma after!) All in all, the place is pretty good. The only reason I take a star away is because there has not necessarily been a wow factor each of the times I went. The food has been decent if not a little inconsistent (sometimes more well done without asking than other times). Service can lag a bit since it's usually a pretty popular spot. Oh and the waffles are just OK, I like mine a little toasty on the edges, and these are just spongey all around. I will caveat that my opinion is pretty unpopular amongst my friends, and almost everyone I come here with ends up RAVING about the spot. So it's worth a try to come and check it out yourself, and multiple times for all the seasonal dishes! read more

We had to ask for butter for the waffle.. which was cold and didn't melt on the waffle. I had to ask for hollandaise for the smoked salmon Benedict which comes on a bagel. And the potatoes were just as dry as they look in the photo. The best thing was the pancake which wasn't the most moist and wasn't served with syrup. They also let people stand at the door and wait for you to finish eating... while being staired at the entire time. Empty dining room, yet we were seated outside in the heat without asking. Our server took ages to come to our table, but he was standing against the wall, doing nothing. Didn't ask for our drink order. Took our food order, but didn't ask us about any of the options for sides. Our drinks orders were taken by another server, and were brought AFTER our food. One item for our order was never brought to the table, and our food was luke-warm, as if the server didn't bring it once it was ready. He was not very friendly, and did not once check on us, other than to take our empty plates. 2 stars simply for the quality of the food, which was great as always. read more

As a result, we only waited 5 minutes at most before being seated. The food was delicious! I appreciate the variety of dishes and their quality. The staff has consistently been friendly and professional. I'm grateful the manager brought me the gluten free flour mix used for the gluten-friendly pancakes: neither she nor our waiter was bothered my my request. (I have multiple good allergies.). This little restaurant is PHENOMENAL! The atmosphere was lively and bright, and the decor was so cute. It looks like a sweet little brunch place and it lived up to appearances! We LOVED our dishes! In this day and age where businesses are rewarding people for paying cash, ABEC does not carry coin-change, so they round up or down. I was not only not rewarded for paying cash, I actually penalized because they kept some of my money. Nowhere on their menu, does it state that they do this. Nor was I warned when she took my cash. The irony is their "suggested tip" to servers includes cents. The food was good, and I really did look forward to having that says my regular brunch place. By my calculations, they will miss out on about.$1,560 in CASH revenue because they refuse to give back change. read more

My third visit. We haven't veered into specialties so I can only comment on the basics. Pancakes were sweet and tasty. My family ordered French toast and a breakfast platter. The French toast was better without the syrup and the sweet cream had an off putting taste. The presentation was beautiful, came with more than enough toast, and full of fresh blueberries. The breakfast sausage appeared to be grounded and prepared in house. The breakfast platter was what it was supposed to be. The wait was kind of long but it was a Sunday afternoon after church and we put in our yelp reservation like 3 minutes before we arrived. It was staffed sufficiently, clean, unique. I like that it doesn't feel "corporate". Kind of loud because it's casual and everyone is enjoying themselves. FYI the tables are pretty close to each other. Free parking in small lot but lots of street parking. Nice area and easy to access. My own personal wish is that they had fresh house made lemonade. (This isn't a ding on them at all. I ordered the crab cake Benedict and my husband ordered the French toast. The best part was the bacon, but how could you mess up bacon. The scrambled eggs tasted as if someone spilled fruity alcohol in them before cooking, the crabmeat tasted old and the breakfast potatoes were cold. Not to mention, the English muffin was soggy. The service was very slow and we sat for over twenty minutes before placing our order. We were finished eating for thirty minutes before the check was proudly to us. You also have to check in with the hostess. Upon checking in with the hostess your wait time starts. Once seated we waited more than an hour for cold food.
