"If you do not like what you eat here something is wrong with you" is what my friend said as we arrived at Another Broken Egg Cafe. She was so right as everything was amazing and this includes the service. To start I love that Yelp has the wait-list feature, so we were able to get on their list and check in while our table was getting ready. We did have to wait a few minutes when we arrived, but we were quickly sat and checked on by our waitress, who was so nice! She got our drinks started and checked on us every time she passed by. For drinks we got a pitcher of their peach bellinis, which serve four drinks for $30--not bad! Upon reviewing the menu for a little bit I decided on their Mardi Gras omelette which had similar ingredients to their shrimp and grits. I really feel like that was what I got as I ordered grits as my side. And wow, oh wow, the taste was just unparalleled compared to other scrambles and shrimp and grits that I have had in the past. The eggs were cooked to perfection and stuffed with tons of peppers, onions, shrimp, and sausage. Every bite just melted in my mouth and I just finished my leftovers as I type this! Now, we did wait about an hour for our food; which to us was not bad as there was a lot of people in the restaurant, the food is made from scratch, and their limited in their kitchen staff. The restaurant had a lot of wait staff, but the kitchen was just limited in their numbers. Again this was something explained to us and our waitress even stopped by and told us this; and to compensate she added additional prosecco to our drinks. We were so surprised to offer this as we were not upset at all. This was not the case of the people next to us that caused a crazy/rude scene. Everything stopped in the restaurant as they became extremely upset about the time and the quality of the food. The manager and several staff got involved and the people eventually left. I mention this because the staff handled everything very professionally even after the man complainer got in the mangers face and berated him with words--which is abuse. I felt bad about what occurred as this should happen to no one. Due to what occurred at the great service and food I will be back! We recently stopped by before going to the airport on a Sunday morning. I used the waitlist feature on Yelp, and we walked walked right in at about 9 a.m. A few minutes later, the line was around the corner, and our server told us it's like that every Sunday. Definitely use the Yelp waitlist! We liked the decor, the tables were all socially distanced, and all employees were wearing masks. Our food--the Hey Lucy omelet and the egg platter with sausage and potatoes came out quickly. My friend liked his omelet, and my eggs were cooked well. Truthfully I have never had a bad experience here, until today. My friend and I spent a majority of our time here waiting. And we waited for quite a while. At one point it seemed like everyone on our side of the dining room was waiting for their food. It took almost 40 mins for the food to come out and it wasn't good at all. Actually it was cold. The server didn't check on us at all during our time here and we only saw him when we dropped the drinks off and when we got the food. We had to ask another server for our checks and she seemed a little bothered that we did. I'm not sure if they were just short staffed and overwhelmed. I came here with the understanding that this is somewhat of a chain establishment and therefore had certain expectations. I didn't come here expecting mom and pop vibes or fancy brunch pics for social media. The service we received was fantastic and I liked a lot of the New Orleans inspired dishes. The waitress was happy to make a lot of accommodations for substitutions for our party that had allergies and restrictions and it made our experience more comfortable. She was great and I wish I could remember her name to give her a shoutout. The menu itself is maybe a little pricey for the area and the food was alright (again, I understand this is probably a chain establishment so I didn't have super high expectations). I'm not familiar with the prices of the area since I was a visitor but it seemed a little higher than what I expected or saw at other places. read more

Showed up after a 5k race ready to really stuff our faces, found that they were understaffed and couldn't open their patio, which was unfortunate because our group had a dog with us. They eventually compromised and allowed us to order 'to go' and sit on their patio to eat it, but didn't make it easy in any way. My blackened mahi benedict had great flavors - I really enjoyed the dry rub on the fish - but overcooked the fish to the point where it may as well have been fish jerky. Breaking my poached egg over it helped a little. The accompanying grits were utterly flavorless - I had to take them home and stir butter and salt into them in order for them to be edible. I think the best dish on the table was probably my friend's lobster brie omelette - if you're in the mood for something that rich, it blended the flavors nicely and provided plenty of lobster. My partner's apple fritter French Toast made me remember what French toast is - stale bread - because that's what it tasted like. However, the sausage he ordered with it was obviously homemade, with another cool unique spice mix that was totally different from the one on my fish, but equally good. read more

Love this place but be prepared for a wait. Even if you get on the list before you leave your house. The line is long on the weekends because it is good. Don't get the alcohol pitchers. It's more ice than anything. But their brunch cocktails are tasty. I love the uniqueness of the food. So far everything I've had is good from the omelettes to the creative pancakes. For our first brunch in the Triangle, we had heard too many good things about Another Broken Egg Cafe to not make this our choice. Knowing that a weekend brunch at 11 am was probably going to be damn-near impossible to just walk up and wait less than 30 minutes, my wife found an online, advance check-in system. Our name was logged and we were advised that it would be approx. 15 mins so we headed to the restaurant quickly. Here's how it played out. FOOD: REALLY GOOD!! I ordered the lobster and brie omelette with a side of grits (added cheese), our son had the biscuit and gravy and we also sampled the powdered beignets. The omelette tasted amazing with real bits of lobster, melted brie and a tomato-hollandaise situated over egg-wrapped cream cheese inside. It was warm, flavorful and fantastic for the $17 price tag. The grits? Amazing!! This is how standard grits should taste anywhere and probably the best consistency I've had in awhile. The beignets were more on the dense side with the firmness and consistency of a pretzel but tastes like warm funnel cake. I would have preferred these to be slightly less fried and on the lighter side, but they tasted good. The sauce served is a honey / orange zest marmalade that my wife loved but I felt had too much citrus in. I loved the honey, just not the orange...just personal preference. Had this been an apple / honey marmalade, I bet it would have been incredible. Our son devoured his meal and loved everything he ate. The eggs here are prepared flawlessly and they offer a wide selection of unique dishes you can't find at just any brunch spot. My reasoning for not scoring 5 stars for the food, is due to my stomach being very upset for the rest of the day with constant belching and acid reflux. I think I ate 3 or 4 Tums throughout the rest of the evening and did not eat anything for the rest of the day. Maybe too much butter, grease or oil? I don't know what it was but it turned my stomach into a heated, aggravated liquid boiling mess. The highlight of this brunch was the salted caramel cold brew. Oh my goodness. Think of a White Russian with some caramel and light chocolate inside of a salt-rimmed jar. SCORE 4.1 STARS!! SERVICE: Flawless service with a smile. Prompt follow ups, refills and acknowledgements were all there. Amalya even let us use her as a hand model for the spiked coffee. You did well. SCORE: 5 STARS!! Note: We arrived within 10 minutes and had to wait an additional 30 mins after we checked in so you may not want to believe what the online estimated wait time is. SCORE: 2 STARS!! OVERALL SERVICE SCORE: 3.8 STARS!! OVERALL SCORE: Coming in short of 5 stars for the apocalyptic gastro war that occured, I would still try this place again in a heartbeat. Had a friend in town from NY city and thought she might enjoy Another Broken Egg Cafe. When we arrived they opened the door and welcomed us and already she said "wow, that doesn't happen back home!" Nice touch guys. :-) The inside is clean, warm and welcoming. Our server was attentive without checking in too often since we were busy catching up. There are a lot of options here - I got the huevos rancheros. Yum! The flour tortilla was crispy and delicious, topped with beans and cheese, salsa and I added chorizo. If you want to go the sweet route rather than savory, the menu boasts of blackberry stuffed French toast and lemon blueberry goat cheese pancakes - maybe next time! I was a little surprised no lattes or cappuccinos, like specialty coffee drinks but their coffee was quite good. It wasn't my absolute favorite but next to one of the yummiest breakfast entrees ever, it works. Fair priced if not a tad higher than some similar spots. There is usually a wait at this particular chain but today there wasn't. I was happy about that. There is seating near the front of the business if you have to wait. You have the option of sitting outside or inside at booths or tables. The hostess asked my preference before being seated. The business is a nice size with lots of seating. Our sever came over fairly quickly and took our drink orders, gave his name, & said to let him know if there were any questions. He was friendly & checked on us a few times during our visit. When it was time to take our order the sever took my friend's order & then walked away & started assisting other customers. I guess our server thought that the person ordered for both of us. Our server did apologize for his mistake. There was a little wait for our food even though it wasn't really busy. I got the veggie omelet with cheese, tomatoes, & spinach. The omelet was also good & was a large portion. It also came with a plain English muffin. The muffin wasn't that good this time. I thought that butter was served on it when I ordered it before. Right off the bat he seemed bothered we didn't order alcoholic drinks. We had just sat down and ordered water and we're starting to look at the menu and he asked if we were ready to order. Let me start by saying the food here is Ah-Mazing! But the wait to receive our food was ridiculous! we joined the waitlist and once it was time for us to be seated we were seated right away and we were then greeted by a waiter who took our drinks. after she took our drink order she left us to decide on what we wanted to eat. when she returned she took our order and told us the food will be right out. That was a lie though she kept checking in periodically letting us know the food will be right out but it was never coming "right out". It actually took us over an hour to receive our food. it was so bad that we had to delay our appointment at the nail salon in order for us to even eat which was a huge inconvenience for us. So bad to the point we were given a discount for the inconvenience. thankfully the food was actually very good. if it wasn't for the long extensive wait time I would have given them five stars but I'll be nice and give them at least an average score of three stars. My boyfriend had the cinnamon roll french toast and a had the lobster grits with cheese which was delicious. We came here early on a Sunday morning in a party of five and were seated right away. The omelette was filled with brie and sautéed lobster meat and topped with champagne butter sauce, diced tomatoes and green onions.
