Great neighborhood watering hole with better-than-average food. I lived in this area 15 years ago and my then 20-something daughter used to come here to drink with friends. I met five other folks in my cohort to share a lunch and chat. The waitress was attentive, but I also noticed that she greeted every person who came in by name, so it's the kind of place "where everybody knows your name." Three of us had Ruben sandwiches, and they were all great by needed a touch more dressing. There are TVs on most walls, and four dartboards with scoring boards against one wall, a couple of claw machines and other arcade-type units. Thankfully, the sounds were all down on those and just the "adult contemporary" soundtrack was heard. We were the only table here on a random Monday afternoon. Worst. Decision. Ever. I thought maybe a local sports bar would offer some local color, maybe some decent food. Not so. I come to the Cary area quite often for business. I was looking for a new place to eat and Mac's looked interesting and it was. Everyone was very friendly. The staff was energetic and knew several customers by name. The beer was cold and the place had an fun vibe. I ordered a sliced steak sandwich and it was very disappointing. Two small chunks of meat, not sliced, placed inside a much too large cold stale bun. I had to tear away most of the bun so I wasn't just eating cold bread. It was served with no lettuce, no tomato and no condiments of any kind; a.k.a. ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise... Nothing. I asked for ketchup and the server quickly obliged but nothing could have saved this "sandwich". I hear the wings are good but I'm not sure I'll go back to find out for myself. read more

It's a decent sports bar with occasional live music but right now (early July 20) they are not following Covid safety guidelines. No masks by staff and not doing enough to promote social distancing. There are other places just like this in Cary area that are putting safety first. Strongly recommend avoiding this place for time being. One visit: Interesting dive bar with live music, open mic style, on Wednesday nights. The food (fish n chips for me) is okay, for bar food, nothing to write home about. The house Cabernet is actually pretty decent. However, service becomes spotty when there's only one server to address everyone who's outside for the music. Pest control is in order for the outside at least, and a good solid power washing... not sure what it's like inside. The open mic is acoustic in nature, the performers seemingly auditioning for other performers. Still, it's all good and fun to listen to some of it. Hearing an acoustic version of Led Zep's "Dancing Days" done well is always a plus. Brand new music was heard from guys who were bold enough to perform original material that's actually good. Looking forward to coming back, more for the music than the food/drinks. read more

*3.5 Stars* Cool sports bar located in a strip mall. Went here last night for a brew, grub and playoff baseball. Bartender was really cool and knew how to pour a Guinness. Started with some Mac Potato Bites (deep friend mashed potato's with a hint of spicy flavor). They were great! They had ranch on the side to dip in. Ordered a burger and it was ok. It was cooked like I wanted it but was middle of the pack compared to others. Bun was solid but toppings were ok. Had a couple of fries since I am all fried out. They had trivia night while I was there so the volume of the TV's was off which was kind of bizarre. I only came here for drinks and games with friends, so I can't rate 5 stars until I have a bite of bar food. I'll be back on Friday to give it another shot. When I first walked in, it seemed just like any other bar, but if you head to the left, there's an outdoor area which is full of fun! We went outside, the drinks were cold, and servers were quick to spot new guests in the area. We also had a house-special round of shots that were pretty darn good. I say "mishandled" order as in my "I'd like a cheese burger with: bacon-lettuce-tomato-onion-mayo and a side of fries please" was converted to "just a cheese burger with it's complimentary companion side-car of fries" when the waitress asked "is that with cheese?". Unfortunately, the staff was extremely rude during the evening when Redline was playing. We asked the bar staff what the table situation was out on the patio and one of the bartenders had to respond with some ridiculous comment that Jesus could not miraculously make chairs to seat people where there was no room. Then after we placed a drink and appetizer order and did not get anybody to check on us after 30 minutes, we paid and informed the staff that we were leaving and, once again, the staff got frustrated with us and said "we have 800 people outside and we can't keep up". We just merely informed the staff that we were paying and leaving so that they could free the table up. There was no reason to ridicule the customer and make a comment to the bouncer that we were leaving because "we weren't fast enough". The food was really good, the beer was awesome, and there's always great and fun music to experience with the various bands always playing. My favorite part about tonight though? So have been going here for years but I am afraid the service has really gone down hill. The bartender/owner is rude in general and shows no patience for waiting on customers. Here's an idea numb nuts as why don't you let someone else bartend who might actually do a better job and give up the bartending as you are not good at it. The service from the other bartenders is mediocre as well. This place will always have somewhat of a neighborhood following/feel and the outdoor venue for bands will always attract customers but again the service has gone downhill and makes me question why I keep going back. read more
