What a time was had for a random night on the town! We were in the area and wanted some wings - nothing fancy just good. Pulled up Yelp and Upper Deck popped up. We've never been - so figured - why not?! It's located in a little shopping center with limited parking - I can imagine it being a nightmare if all the shops were busy. However for us, parking was a breeze. Your classic pub with tvs going, people chatting, music play, and pool tables. The night we attended they had a live DJ so the music was pumping with all the right songs. Everyone was booping to the tunes and enjoying themselves. The waitress was very friendly and helpful with choosing the best items to try. She timed everything perfectly and made sure we were good the whole time. We had a few people with us so we ordered a lot of different stuff to try out the menu. - 24 wings - Med Buffalo, Honey BBQ, Upper Deck Sauce and Garlic Parmesan. - Hot Dogs with all the fixings - Chicken Buffalo Dip - Mozzarella Sticks - Cheeseburger Sliders Everything was hot and fresh. And yes the wings were amazing - my favorite was the garlic parmesan. They all had the right HR amount of sauce on them - not too saucy or not enough - just right. We will return again! read more

We descended here on a Monday at noon-ish after a 20-mile bike ride around the town greenways. It was a hot mid-September day, and the dark cool was welcomed greatly! We gather and were served by the only wait person (who really did a great job!) Several folks walked over to the beer list, which is on a chalk board in the far corner of the place. I just asked for a hazy IPA and she brought me something cold and wet and soothing! They offer a lot of burger options, but the shrimp po boy caught my eye. It arrived with my choice side of tater tots perfectly cooked and hot! I took a first bite from the hot dog bun-shaped roll and almost missed the shrimp. I opened it, and there were maybe four or five shrimp in the whole sandwich. It was more like a Cole slaw sandwich with some shrimp added for texture. My dining partners who got burgers paid less and got far more. The location is great, and they have been around a good while, but this isn't the Raleigh Times, by a long shot! Came here to grab a beer and play some darts, and I had a good time. Parking was pretty easy since there's a shared parking lot for all of the businesses in the strip mall where Upper Deck is located. Inside, it feels pretty much like your standard bar, so not too much to comment on there. We didn't eat anything so I don't have any opinion on the food, but the beer selection was decent. I was impressed by the number of available dart boards! They lent us a set of darts for free (just needed to provide my driver's license), and while they weren't super high quality, they got the job done. It's not like we're great at darts anyway :) Upper Deck also had a ping pong table, so that was also fun to play for a few minutes. Service was solid throughout our stay. Most of the places around Cary were closed by 9pm, so we came here for a quick dinner to go. The worker was nice and helped us place our order promptly. Food came out within 15 minutes. We got the mushroom burger and the boneless wings (garlic parmesan flavor). Our total was about $23. The food was very dry. The burger came with no sauce. The bunch was soft but the meat and cheese was dry. The water tots were fine. The boneless wings were small and also very dry. I couldn't really taste the parmesan or garlic. Our drive back was around 7 minutes, so there is no way this food dried up that fast. The ambiance is good for playing darts, table tennis, pool, and of course getting drinks. If you're looking for a dive bar that stays open until 2am, 7 days a week, this is it. My wife and I went here late last night with some friends and hung out until closing time. We drank, played darts, had some drinks, ate some of their nachos, had some drinks, got some of their teriyaki chicken wings, had a few more drinks, tried to finish our dart game but didnt, played songs on the jukebox, and then had some more drinks. In case you're wondering, yes, we had a driver. Needless to say, we laughed our 's off all night and had a blast. The one-star deduction is because they only have 6 darts to loan for like a million dart boards, and they were out of boneless wings, nothing really serious. The lady tending bar was great, and our food was served quickly (thank you, guy working in the kitchen!) The nachos were ok (needed more stuff on them), but the wings were better. A true dive bar in all the good ways and some of the best wings I've tried around the Raleigh area! I stopped by for dinner a couple weeks ago based on a "best wings" recommendation and wasn't disappointed. The beer selection was solid and I went with the Buffalo wings. Excellent wings! Came here to catch the game as the other place I had been previous it's closed. Various televisions so I am glad one of them had the channel on. Place is dark on the bar side but the game room is well lit. They have indoor cornhole and darts from what I can see. The barmaid was ok. I had to ask for specials and the reason why it is a 2 star review currently is because the draft beer I ordered is warm. I'll drink it anyways but they need to look into that. Let's go Madrid! What an experience this place was. I couldnt decide if I was there for dinner, a concert, to play pool/darts. The entire place felt like we were in 3 different places at once - there were even 2 very different radio stations playing (loudly). The food was unimpressive - including the "famous and best" buffalo wings. They also had a very lackluster drink menu and what they did have was rather pricey for the vibe of the place. Recently discovered this place. Have not eaten in but just get to-go. From what I see they have a TON of beers on draft as well as daily food & drink specials. The bartenders are very sweet and helpful; I have only had one bartender who was just blah. To be honest, for a divey type bar this food is bangin!!! The only not so great experience would be when we got to-go on Sunday. It was the busiest I had ever seen them in my short time as a patron there, but the food was also nowhere near as delicious as before. Will say they had sooo many football games on all the tvs they have. Would definitely recommend for any football fans. Don't write this place off it is definitely worth giving it a shot. read more

So your looking for Wings. Most everyone goes to UpperDeck or Woodys. So I went to both 1 week apart. Here is my take If you are looking for the traditional wing deep fried with the orange butter/hot sauce mix - go to UpperDeck. if you are one of those Buffalo NY folks who are a fanatical about nothing else going on your wing, go to UpperDeck. This is the place for you. They were good. The hot are best. Medium was not hot enough and I'm not a big scorch my mouth guy. The atmosphere was weird. Maybe because they were getting ready for a big dart tournament but the place seemed hollow. They had a decent amount of TV's but no volume on any. However, if you are looking for a great wing(not traditional) and a good atmosphere, then Woodys is the place. I personally like Woodys better. I like traditional wings, but I'm not a "buffalo" snob. Woody's had a good environment with great wings. There is a little sweet with the heat. I dig that. The sauce is little bit of a glaze but not Foodnetwork cutting edge. Just enough of the goodness. Wings were cooked perfectly. I housed 'em. I liked that they had 50 TV's with the volume on the main one. This is the perfect spot for Sports night wit da' boys. Oh and they had Fat Tire on tap. What? What? Overall the service at both was good at both. I give 3 stars to UD only for the lack of atmosphere and the wings were good but not as good as Woody's. The wings are excellent but they don't make it easy for you to give them money. They don't have an online menu, nor do they have printed menus you can take home. I don't like eating wings out, they're too messy, but I do like bringing them home occasionally. My playmate-for-life is of the opinion that they want people to come in and spend money on drinks and don't really want to do take out. He's probably right. When you do call to order, they make two kinds of wings, "Buffalo wings", which aren't Buffalo wings at all but wings with a ketchup based sauce, and "Rochester wings" which are actually Buffalo wings. Apparently the owner is from Rochester, so he's decided to claim the more authentic recipe for a different city. I don't know why they don't ditch the ketchup based sauce altogether and just call them "wings". Also, they serve them in weird numbers. Eight, sixteen, or 50; just serve them by the dozen for crying out loud. They also seem very expensive; sixteen wings and an order of onion rings was nearly $30. The Buffalo wings that they call "Rochester wings" are very good, but a little on the pricey side for wings, and dealing with the business is a P.I.T.A. read more

The bartender was great; she was very quick and attentive, especially since imperturbable sure she was running the front of house by herself. The food was good, too. I've been coming here for about six years - 3 to 4 times a year, whenever I'm in the area. I'm from Buffalo and was told about this place from a new friend, also from Buffalo, that the wings here are done right and are good by Buffalo standards. He was not wrong. The wings at the time were very good by Buffalo standards which is saying a lot. However, the quality of the wings has declined to the point where they are average for outside Buffalo at best. I've given them two or three tries lately and the quality isn't there like it was. It starts with smaller, dare I say scrawny, wings. The wings are overcooked and dry, maybe because they are so small or maybe because they are frozen? It seems I'm not the only one to notice, at least on Yelp. I talked to the waitress/bar tender about them and she assured me she will pass the information on to management. Just finished the best BLT sandwich of my existence at the upper deck in cary! Located in N Harrison ave. the bread was nice and buttery which I important in the making of a BLT. Also it was LOADED with bacon!!!! (Which is rare considering most places overload with lettuce and tomato) Hats off to the upper deck! Awesome food and service! A decent sports bar that was quiet on a Monday night. Strange since there was MNF on. On the side of the bar they have poker tables and a bunch of people were playing. The bar area was near empty (me and 1 other person) and all the service tables were empty as well. The place seems as though it can use a "sprucing up". Seemed old and outdated. Had a bunch of TV's so it's definitely a cool spot for games. The bartender was attentive and nice. She recommended the wings. So i obliged and ordered them. They were good but not great. Medium was exactly that, not too spicy. They were filling so I didn't get anything else. Their beer selection isn't as extensive as other places and their prices are average. My fiancé and I ordered boneless wings from this restaurant which were dry to begin with but I guess they fry their wings in the same oil they fry their fish in. Nowhere on the menu is it listed for possible cross contamination. Needless to say, I ended up in the ER with a severe allergic reaction. I called the manager and she literally said to me "well if we had known about this then we would've told you it wouldn't be possible to cook them separate". You would think the manager would be more understanding and apologetic but nope! It's not even listed anywhere for cross contamination. I'm sure I'm not the first person this has happened to and I'm sure I won't be the last. Great bar. Drinks reasonable price and also good food kevins cajun wings yum. Some nights they have price of a single order of wings the same for a double. Dont drive after to many cops not nice especially if ur out of state. But the bar it self has lots of New Yorkers that go there that live here now. They have poker games, corn hole, and darts leagues. All the darts are metal tip which is good but bring your own. This is definitely a dive bar full of regulars. It's dark with lots of TVs. But most importantly their wings are phenomenal for NC! By far the best I've had since moving here 9 years ago! Like some other reviewers I'm also from Buffalo and absolutely a wing snob! I didn't even order wings I just stole them from my husband. They were crispy and spicy and big and wonderful! They do have 2 main types Buffalo and Rochester. For the record for people who know wings their Rochester=wings (Buffalo wings). The server knew enough to give us Rochester even though we ordered Buffalo. Thank God for that!
