This is one on the things I miss the most from North Carolina. I wish I was there right now. :)

The bar tender helped me right away and was super friendly and helpful. Found out he is an army vet (thank you for your service sir! ) and had been working in the food industry ever since. I ordered a tasty local IPA and the half sandwich and soup meal. Got the melted cheddar and turkey sandwich with a cup of their house made chili. The chili was fantastic, could've used a bit more portion wise, but I'll let that go. Sandwich was good too. The beer was super fresh. The bar tender told me they just had their lines cleaned out. Lot to be said for a bar that stays on top of that. Would make a menu suggestion to the good folks at Carolina Ale....French Dip....just saying....I think you guys could knock that one outta the ballpark! Bottom line, great lunch, great service! Will definitely be back!

We're also ordering the French onion Smashburger and we're ordering the Carolina combo pick two fried shrimp and 6 ounce sirloin and a Caesar salad. Also gonna try the Elysian space dust IPA. I wasn't impressed with the IPA because it only comes in a tulip glass, which is kind of small or you can order the pitcher which is way too much for me. The Caesar salad is really good. The French onion Smashburger was so so the burger itself didn't have a lot of flavor unless you dipped it in the French onion soup even doing that it wasn't that flavorful. I feel like a smashed burger should be able to stand on its own. I also felt like the burger was kind of dry for a Smash burger. 6 ounce steak was good along with the shrimp and fries. I felt like the Philly cheesesteak sub. The bread itself was a little dry look like they toasted it but then when you got to the meat and the flavor, it just wasn't there if I were to compare this to ruckus Philly cheesesteak ruckus is better. I wouldn't say I wouldn't come back here, but it wouldn't be my first choice.

The menu online as I write says the 12 oz. 28 day aged ribeye is $29.89 including grilled mushrooms, roasted vegetables and mashed potatoes. I recall being slightly disappointed that baked potatoes were no longer an option, but the food was so good, that was not an issue. Service was good, the food was good. I thought it was worthy of the occasion. I have been to this store on at least 6-8 previous visits, although I did not usually get steak. I usually got one of their sandwiches. I liked all those I've had. There is another CAH closer to me that gets terrible reviews. It's worth it to me to drive a little further and go to a store that has given me good food and service on multiple occasions.

Carolina Ale House Review - 3/5…read more It was our last day in town, and we wanted something quick while still getting a taste of some local favorites. Since Carolina Ale House was close to where we were staying, we decided to give it a try. The atmosphere definitely had that classic ale house vibe, with plenty of local beers on tap along with other familiar beer options. It felt like a nice casual spot to unwind and grab a bite. We all ordered something different, which was nice for variety. I had the hibachi shrimp, while the others had tacos with chips, and my son kept it simple with chicken tenders and fries. The food overall was okay, but my dish was a little disappointing. Everything on my plate--between the soup, pilaf rice, broccoli, and shrimp--seemed to carry almost the exact same flavor, so I didn't really get to enjoy the distinct hibachi taste I was expecting. One highlight for me was definitely the spicy margarita--the flavor was delicious. My husband also really enjoyed the "Ale Yeah" 16 oz. Bloody Mary along with one of the local North Carolina draft beers, which was a nice touch. Our server, Trevan, did a great job taking care of us. He was accommodating, attentive, and made sure we had what we needed throughout our visit, which we appreciated. Overall, I'd rate this place a 3/5. It was a decent stop for a casual meal and drinks, but the food could have had a bit more flavor separation and wow factor

I've always enjoyed my experience at Tobacco Road. The food is ALWAYS good, and the drinks are good too! The staff and service have always been great as well! They don't take reservations, but you can add yourself to the waitlist ahead of your arrival if the function is available. This is also a great place for a private event. I've been to quite a few of them here and have had a great experience as well. Although there is some street parking available around the restaurant, the best option is to park in the parking deck a short walk nearby. Although they are well-known for their bar food, one of my favorite entrees is the Greek Lemon Chicken! It's so tasty, and the flavors complement each other well. There are tons of tvs to ensure you can catch the games as well! Highly recommend!

THEN Brooklyn came over and said that although her section was on the other side of the restaurant, she was happy to help, and to not hesitate to get her attention if we needed anything, or any refills. However, we never had to because she was on it!!! She has such a great personality, and works efficiently, yet without ever feeling rushed. She also gives her honest opinion about menu items, without ever criticizing anything in particular, but definitely won't steer you wrong or sound fake about it. She was able to take what had started out as a bad experience and turn the situation around. We had an absolute blast and the food was delicious. While I dinged the overall review, Brooklyn is awesome and she gets a full 5 stars!
