Love Sharkys! It's not fancy but it's a fun pool dive bar. Reasonably priced drinks + good food!

I ordered some wings from here to go for lunch one day after reading on Facebook that these were some of the best wings in the Triangle. It's safe to say my foodie Facebook friends did not lead me wrong. I starting eating in the car and did not get a picture. The order was ready pretty quickly after I ordered it and the service was face and friendly when I picked it up. The wings were hot and fresh and so flavorful. The wings had a lot of sauce and the lemon pepper had a lot of lemon seasoning. I also ordered the side of onion rings and they were very good as well. They were not as hot as the wings but they were still crisp and tasty. The style of restaurant is like a dive bar. They have huge pool tables. It's not my typical scene but they do have plenty of space inside and it appeared nice and clean. I'd probably come back for their wing special one day. My friends and I were next door at The Mixx and wanted to grab dinner, and saw that we could order for delivery from here. We were pumped about that, so one of the male members of our group called to place an order. The phone was answered by a male, who told our friend they did not deliver (despite the QR code and advertising at The Mixx). No problem, we decided we could just walk down and pick up our order. So he ordered his. I take a look at the menu and then I (a female) call, literally three minutes later, to place a carry out order. The man who answers the phone tells me that they don't accept carry out orders over the phone and I would have to order online or come in to place the carry out. Umm... okay. My male friend LITERALLY just placed one three minutes earlier but I'm not about to deal with the argument, so I go online to order. Unfortunately, their online platform is not updated, and an item I wanted to order when looking at the menu on their website was not available on the platform that I had to utilize to do a place out order. So, I was gonna need to call back. I handed the phone instead to my male friend, however, who called to place a carry out order and was indeed invited to proceed. I placed my order through my male friend, and was told it would be 15-20 minutes. I walked down at the 20 minute mark, and told someone my name for my order. About 5 minutes later, the unfriendly male bartender asked me again for my name and I provided it. He asked if I was with the other group of people who were there also waiting for their order, and I said yes but my order is separate (they ordered before me and one member of the group also had not gotten their order). He seemed confused which is never a good sign and went back to the kitchen. About 8-10 minutes later, we were both given our orders. I got a pizza and 3 other items. When I got to my destination to eat it, I realized that all 3 items were wrong. We ordered chips/salsa, texas fries, and pickle chips. We were provided a club sandwich, Buffalo shrimp, and Buffalo wings. Not even close. As we had already left the area, I was not going to return to get the correct order. It is really, really unfortunate that the male staff won't take carry out orders from women over the phone and that they can't get their carry out order correct because the food is honestly really good, and reasonably priced. If the service wasn't so bad, this could be a 4 or 5 star based on food taste and cost. read more

Sharky's is a fun spot to watch a game, play darts, play pool or just to hang out. We stopped in to grab dinner and watch football, it was the BLT with fries for me and the Big Ole Club with chips for my husband. It was more spacious than I thought and the service was great so I'd return. read more

I do really like Sharkys but it seems they've changed some of their wing sauces. I've gone there for a while with my girlfriend's and when we asked about why our wings tasted very different than they used to - we were told nothing had changed. So we all left confused and hoping they go back to normal. (This has been a few times now with the wings tasting different....) read more

Our go to after work drinks place. The food is so good, I've never had anything I didn't like and sometimes I don't know what I want to drink but the bartenders can usually make something delicious. We decided to come here after lunch to both get acquainted with the people and to meet up with my other friend that lived here. When we arrived, there was barely any space outside to park. We managed to squeeze in after someone left a lot or two away from the entrance. It was not too far away. We walked into the bar, and I found that the location was quite large on the inside. There is a big bar section near the front. Further, there are a bunch of tables and pool tables before reaching the bathrooms on the far side of the room. The place is a little dark but has a very chill vibe to it. There are a number of TV screens and for today, a few big projectors set up. You could not miss the LSU game anywhere that you looked. My friends and I sat down at a covered pool table and was served almost immediately. The waiter came and took our orders for both drinks and food. We ordered some beers and got them pretty quickly. It was a fun experience and a good time, especially for an LSU fan at the time as we were beating the other team pretty badly. It was all in good sport as everyone respected each other aside from the occasional trash talking. Eventually, we ordered food. My friends and I got some chicken wings and some fries. The fries came out pretty quickly and was nice and warm. It tasted pretty good. They were standard cheesy, bacon fries and were a good snack to have. The wings were very delayed. I think the waiter forgot our order, but they came back and got our wings at the end. The wings were good and crispy. It was worth the wait (maybe because we were hungry). The wings were not that juicy though. Overall, I think this place is pretty good while being really busy. I think that this is the place for LSU alumni to go as they usually host events here. read more

We went on Saint Paddy's day, well before 8PM,( When owner has stated no one without ID is allow in building). We sat down and went to order our food, ( we were not drinking and stated this to our server), my one friend didn't have her ID,( FYI we weren't at the bar we were in the back at a Darts table) and we were told to leave, Yet there was a Five year old running around infront and BEHIND the bar. on top of all of that the server was rude and a bit of a A-Hole. Establishment is Anti-LGBT. My friends and I (one of which is gay) were speaking about their partner when the server came over. After about 10 minutes, server brought our checks over to us unprompted and told us to "quiet down". We had heard this place was not friendly towards people of color, but thought maybe it was a bad experience. Definitely believe them now. Would not recommend coming here. Love, love the wings from this place! Especially since I can order them extra wet and soak up all the goodness! My go to is a bunch of wings (Buffalo & sharkys style), brisket salad, pickle chips. That's usually enough to last my partner and I few days. Due to covid I've been supporting local via takeout and Sharky's generally never disappoints. Had a minor hiccup the other week though.. I scheduled an order for pickup, placed the order around 1pm but didn't pickup until 430. I'd ordered like this before with no problems. However this time, they went ahead and made my order at 1 and let it sit around until I picked it up.. didn't even offer to remake the soggy pickle chips that had been sitting in the window. I'm guessing it was just an off day since usually scheduled pickups have no issues. read more

Was kinda disappointed tonight. First time I've been here in probably 5-6 years. The food was still pretty great but whoever the blonde 40 something year old working there was not nice at all. I asked a simple question of whether Hop was still running the place and she acted like I was crazy. "Hops? I've never heard of him." I said Hop, he ran this place for like 15 years. Then I pulled up the Yelp page and even showed her his name, it still has him listed as the manager. And she's like "This isn't our website, I don't even know what this is." I said it's your Yelp page, this is the guy I was asking about. And she just walked off. Not sure why she was so hostile about the whole thing, super weird. I will be back though. read more

I am new to town and wanted to shoot pool one day so I went here. That was a big mistake. The bartender, Amanda doesn't care about giving good customer service. She only paid attention to what seemed to be regulars. The beer was not cold at all and the pool tables are not great either. Over all my experience was awful and I will not be coming back to give them a second chance. read more

I gave is 3 stars mostly because the place was sort of divey. There are only tall tables so you might need to know that. We came on a Sunday afternoon and the place was pretty empty. There are six pool tables in the back and a couple of tables outside if you have a dog or want to enjoy the weather. Now for the food. I only ordered the wings that did not come with the usual celery and carrots. I got the shark eye sauce that is a mustard based sauce. It was pretty good. I must say the wings were fries to perfection. They come 10 in an order and we're the same price and amour for the bone less wings. Also note the roll of paper towels on the tables. The waitress was very nice and was there alone. The wings were very large and tasty. I would come again. read more

I am appalled by the way my husband was treated last night at your bar! We were there last weekend and then last night for dinner & to play darts with a group. I left early & he planned on taking an Uber home. After the darts were over and he was waiting for his Uber, he was using his phone to watch the nearby pool game when a woman came up & accused him of being a pervert & watching her friend. (He can not see the balls at a pool table unless he is right at it) He politely explained he's visually impaired and could not see the pool game without using his phone for magnifying. He is clearly visually impaired and came in with a guide dog! He tried to show his ID, and instead, a staff member came up and asked if he was taking pictures. Again, he explained and even had the dart team leader explain that he can not see that far and is NOT a pervert. The woman made fun of my husband, didn't listen to his explanation, and all of them disregarded his feelings and predicament. He had to wait safely for his Uber, and he wasn't doing ANYTHING wrong. The dart leader smoothed it over, but my husband and I are both appalled that a disabled person could be treated so poorly at your establishment. He is an capable adult, a college educated man that in that moment, he's having to prove he is really legally blind, having a woman make fun of him & berate him for being a weirdo/perv and then your and staff who are not listening to him or supporting him in any way. He has legal rights, and he tried to prove he was legally blind, showed his phone had no pictures, and he was just using the magnifying feature to watch the game. What more should he have done? It was totally insulting, especially after he had spent a lot of money there, enjoying his evening. It won't happen again, for sure!! We don't support places that discriminate against disabled people/visually impaired, etc. I'll tell everyone I know. I understand your staff asking him at first, but after he explained, I would have expected better treatment. We don't condone the mistreatment of other humans or support people who do. Our family traveled from Wendell which was a 35mn drive to enjoy a nice family evening watching Wolfpacks play knowing that this used to be one of our favorite sports bars to go to. We had sat in there, enjoying 2 appetizers, a drink and watching the game when at halftime we were abruptly told to leave the premises bc our Sean had sexually harassed the waiter Amanda thru phone txting and when I ask to see the proof I was told no by the owner Randy Wilson who didn't want to listen to anything we had to say or ask! My son is mixed w/black and we are 2 white parents and felt racism was also the issue! It was not only unexpected for us but we were embarrassed by the owner,staff & workers! I live across the street and my neighbor goes there all the time and I finally got around to going. I went Thursday night of NBA game 7, I was alone, I felt a little awkward, but the bartenders were so good to me because State/UNC CWS elimination game was one and he let me change one of the tvs. I went back a few days later with my neighbor which was a much better idea because everyone knew him (hahahahaha). When you walk up there's a side that says "try our burgers" so I did! It was very good, I got the "big tex" with two slices of cheese--very awesome. Everyone I talk to says the wings are very good. Neighbor vouch for it! I'm sure many people have said this, the management has changed and they are great! Sharky's is a little dive-ish bar at the back of a strip mall. And it is an unofficial New Orleans Saints fan hangout. Geaux Saints! If you are a sporting man, they have several pool tables and dart boards. If you like your food with a side of Cajun, try the shrimp po-boy. You will not be disappointed. However when asked if this was a typical po-boy, the waitress said it came with coleslaw on it. Thank goodness she was incorrect however she was absolutely right about the remoulade sauce on it. Delicious. If you celebrate Mardi Gras with a king cake then Sharky's got you covered. You can order a Gambino's king cake (the Cadillac of king cakes) direct from New Orleans via Sharky's, final destination - your tummy. Excellent. Watch out for super beer specials like $2.50 drafts, $2 Millers and the like. And they serve Dixie beer (the Yugo of beers). On the upside you can also enjoy an Abita beer too. My friends and I have been Sharkeys regulars for years now. We have celebrated birthdays, promotions, etc. here more times than I can count. Unfortunately, our past few trips have left a lot to be desired, both food- and service-wise. After ordering takeout this past week, I doubt we will be back. We ordered over $100 in food, including 3 orders of corn nuggets. What we received were half of the correct wing flavors, along with a measly handful of nuggets in each container (see pics). Ordered wings and pickle chips for take out. Asked for my order of 10 to be split in two flavors and they were all mixed. Celery was thrown in with the wings and were disgustingly soggy. I was under the impression this establishment is known for their wings but they left something to be desired. The pickle chips were good. Not greasy or over battered. I think the tastiest part of the order were the side sauces. They all tasted like they were made from scratch. Ranch didn't have that regular store bought flavor. Blue cheese had fresh pieces of cheese mixed throughout. The remoulade was flavorful and seasoned well. read more

Already have seen another review about a bartender being on a power trip. When I tell you this bartender was on a mission to refuse service and get us out in the first 5 minutes of being there. We took the hint and ended our night 5 minutes in. Very surprised this business is even successful with this type of customer service. But if you are on the younger side(early 20s) just don't go here. Just a bunch of old heads who don't want younger people in their bar I guess. Just disappointed. read more
