Breakfast was fantastic... the Biscuits and gravy are delicious! The biscuits - oh my, so fluffy and slightly crispy around the edges! And the breakfast potatoes were some of the best I've ever had. Worst place to eat breakfast at. This place is the worst in seating you. Food is overpriced and service is fake. Do not bring a large party to this place. You will be severely disappointed. 40 minute wait turned into 1.5 hours. Service and food used to be good but since it's opening, all downhill ! Great place for late morning brunch, atmosphere is definitely one of the key things I look at when I enter a restaurant, and it really gave off awesome vibes. Just my first time there, so as always, when I go to a new breakfast place I always get the pancakes. They were awesome, nice and moist. Didn't have to take a sip of water every time I took a bite. Bacon was super crisp and potatoes were great on the side. I had another person with me, and she got the French toast topped with blueberries and strawberries, and a swirl of whipped cream. Went to the Lafayette location while shopping to replace things after the flood. i frequent Baton Rouge and love everything about it but the one in Lafayette is regrettable. The hostess, Gabby (would be perfectly named if the rest was Totally Useless) was late on everything from coffee refills to picking up my card (seriously had to wqit almost ten minutes to pay the bill). the food was ok after taking 46 minutes to arrive but the experience was so substandard for ABE that I strongly recommend avoiding this location altogether. read more

Yesterday was my first visit. I had Stan's Mardi Gras omelet, which includes shrimp, crawfish, and andouille sausage. It was wonderful. With the three-egg omelet I really didn't need both the potatoes and the English muffin. I felt that the location could be a problem during higher traffic times with the narrow lane and very low speed limit (7 1/2 mph if memory serves). I was there mid-morning so no problems, but I'd hate to go there at lunch time. read more

I don't want to be negative or unappreciative when taken to brunch but waiting 30-45 minutes for a table and then another 20-25 minutes for our entrees to come out for what is essentially a stereotype or caricature of Southern Cuisine doesn't sit well with me. So my mother was visiting me from Mississippi and she wanted breakfast ( as i am always up for a great breakfast fix ) I immediately agreed. We arrive and had to wait about 25 mins to be seated .. ok not great but ok I can accept that they were busy esp given the location in river ranch. So we are seated I ordered the daily special which was quiche .. not bad.. not great either.. but definitely not bad.. rather middle of the road. My mother and I had decided to go stag for that meal and as I received my bill I was shocked that breakfast.(typically the less expensive of all meals). for one person was nearly topping out at 20 before tip... Today is by far the worst experience we have had at this restaurant. The waitress we had was horrible it took her 5 min to bring me water. Then when we got our food the eggs were over hard. They remade them and they were sunny side up. All I wanted was over medium I guess that's to much to expect from some place called another broken egg. read more

My boyfriend and I had breakfast here this morning and I can't wait to visit again! He had the biscuits and gravy, and I ordered the chicken biscuit sandwich. Both were incredibly delicious. We were served by a really great server named Hayley. She knew the menu like the back of her hand and was great at giving us recommendations. She recommended the City Grits (YUM) and was prompt and extremely pleasant with her service. We saved room for the biscuit beignets and they were extremely good as well! The atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant, and the placement of tables made it feel very private. The interior has an "Old Louisiana" feel, which pairs perfectly with the Old Louisiana cooking. This is a good place to come for breakfast/brunch when you're not being a slob. It's also relatively healthy, which is nice, because a lot of breakfast places are very unhealthy for you. And it's right in the heart of River Ranch, so we usually eat here before venturing out to the various shops in the area. read more

I ordered the lobster omelet and I don't think I have ever eaten a better omelet anywhere. The eggs was light and fluffy and perfectly cooked with creme cheese inside and a lobster sauce with lobster chunks that contained fresh herbs on the top. I expected a wait time here to get a table - It was Sunday "brunch" time after all. The wait, however, wasn't bad at all - the waitstaff, on the other hand, was horrible. After being seated at our table, we waited about as long as we did for a table to even get a visit from our waiter. After our food was ordered, we waited even longer - and watched as other tables after us got their orders. Was our waiter not turning in orders in a timely manner? Who knows.
