Great greetings, and you do not have to ask for water. Nice breakfast to start the day, as we're enjoying our weekend.. family atmosphere, just and overall good experience as usual.

This was my first time here and it will not be my last. The breakfast I had was great I was skeptical because I am a Waffle House girl but they really out did themselves. I loved the fact that they have a huge selection to chose from whether you want breakfast, lunch or dinner they have it all. I'm excited about my return to try lunch or dinner I would definitely recommend this establishment to friends and family.

How do you mess up bacon?

How in the world does this place have 5 stars? We popped in here one day around 1 pm. It was after the lunch rush and there were only a couple of tables of people in. It was only my husband and me in our party. We ordered the loaded tots for an appetizer. Everyone knows that it's common that what comes to the table or is served over the counter never looks like the advertisement; but this was ridiculous! I kept it simple and ordered a bacon cheeseburger with grilled onions and a side of fries and my husband had something off the breakfast menu (eggs, bacon, hash browns and pancakes). On my burger, the bacon was a barely cooked, greasy, floppy slab of fat and the onions were raw and not grilled. The shift manager was serving tables and cashing out and executing dishes all at the same time. Being a restaurant that has the kitchen behind the counter, we were able to see all the activity going on in there. I happened to look up just at the time that our server who was also the shift manager was grabbing our plates to deliver to our table, but, not before using his bare hands to put the top bun onto my burger; only after collecting the previous guest's money at the register. Did he wash his hands between duties? NO! Am I the only person who cares about having my food touched in this manner? I have a lump in my throat just typing this! My husband's food was a mess too. Floppy bacon, mushy hash browns, and nasty pancakes! With all of the options for breakfast in the Lafayette and surrounding area, Huddle House in Scott will never be my choice again. Do yourself a favor and go to Another Broken Egg or even IHOP if you like food chains! I tried calling the restaurant to speak to the manager but I was told they didn't know his name then told I could try again at another shift. Oh well...

I go pretty often to fore work and the food is always good and quick. Mr. Marshall and his morning crew is the bomb.

Five stars for that it fed us when we were really hungry on Christmas day (road trip) and the food was actually good.

Do I recommend this place you ask?…read more Well, seeing as how we hit it at least once or twice a month you could say it's our approved list of eateries in the Lafayette area. I've been here for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late night munchies. It's always been top notch. The kitchen is always busy, but the service is timely. This is my go to place for the perfect Reuben sandwich! It's also my go to place when I'm craving a hamburger steak, or meatloaf, or just about anything else on their menu! But that Popeye's omelette is tops on my breakfast list! The diner setting is a throwback to the 50s and 60s, so if you're into chrome and formica this is your place! It's actually kind of cozy, and the servers have always been friendly, even when they're in a frenzy!

My husband and I ordered the cheeseburger omelet and Big Mike special, two dishes that both included well-seasoned and high quality angus beef. My cheeseburger omelet in particular was absolutely delicious--a medley of beef, onions, mushrooms, peppers and cheddar cheese. The biscuits, on the other hand, were grainy and glazed with sweet butter, and ultimately a menu item that we really didn't care for. They also lacked structural integrity, and appeared to be lacking a crispy and buttery exterior. Biscuits aside, we loved all the other side options and we want to go back to try the fried green tomatoes and fried jalapeños.

I didn't even know that the "Boudin Capital of the World" had this many people. The place was packed, and I visited on an off time on an off day. I guess they don't have any off times or off days. Our wait was quoted at 40 minutes, and it was fairly accurate. They have a full bar to grab a drink and chat with friends while you wait. You can also grab a drink and stand alone in the corner, but that would be creepy as hell. Once seated, I was ready for some food. My kid and I shared some of their firecracker chargrilled oysters, and they were wonderful. Ensure your order has charbroiled oyster,s and you will be happy. The table also had an order of fried onion rings, and they, too, were excellent. My entrée was fried shrimp. When it arrived, I was concerned as the batter looked a little darker than I am used to. One bite, and that concern went out the window. These were some perfectly fried shrimp. This is an awesome place.

There's no host stand or clear seating system, so the entrance felt chaotic. We weren't sure what to do until a nice local told us to just grab a table. After sitting down, it took about 5 mins for a waitress to stop by with the menus. The menu includes both breakfast and lunch items, but the ordering process is confusing. We were told breakfast orders would be taken at the table and lunch needs to be ordered separately at the cafeteria style counter. My husband went to the counter to order lunch while I stayed behind, waiting for the server to return with drinks and take our breakfast order, she never did. The smothered pork dish looked worse than school cafeteria, and unfortunately tasted like it too. It was overly salty and the pork had a weird taste to it. Since we had already paid for the lunch item upfront and still hadn't been able to place breakfast order, we decided to cut our losses and went to another restaurant. Overall, wasted 35 mins and left frustrated and disappointed, definitely won't come back!

The main issue here is the overall service experience and the food quality. The interior is old school but immediately chaos; there is a Luby's style ready serve food line and tables as well for dine in. We didn't know but apparently you just find a table and sit down, we were standing around waiting to be seated for a bit. Apparently you order lunch plates at this hot food line and then order breakfast via your server at the table. This makes no sense. We waited 35 minutes for staff to take our breakfast order and beverages unsuccessfully, so I went up and ordered a lunch plate of smothered pork and just paid up front. The guy working the ready made food line was also pretty rude and didn't want to be there; great! It was definitely below Treebeard's level and was very salty and not very flavorful. The sauce that they poured on the rice was extremely salty as well. Meh food quality and the absolute chaos of the brunch dining experience made the brunch meal very unenjoyable for our group. We left afterwards and went to another restaurant to eat.
