Fried green tomato salad
Stacy E.

The service was amazing! Super friendly & attentive! The place is clean with a nostalgic atmosphere. The BEST was the fried green tomatoes salad! It's not on the menu so you'll have to request it when ordering! I highly recommend it for a vegetarian option. Delicious!!! The food is plentiful in portions but the hamburger steak was lacking seasoning! I didn't eat it! The onion rings were big and good but again no real flavor! The club sandwiches were good & presented nicely! No one at the table ate the fries so I tasted one since fries are usually loved by all and they tasted different... ‍ not sure why but the oil had an odd flavor! Overall our experience here was good so yes, I recommend this place!

I loved the decoration and vibe of this restaurant. I also appreciated when we went on a Sunday at noon we had the option to pick from the breakfast or lunch menu. My boyfriend thought his breakfast platter was a great deal and the quality of his food was great. I had the blackened catfish salad and the salad and fish was nice and fresh. I'm docking one star because the fish was very salty. I had to get my boyfriend to try it and he agreed.

Ya want some good food? They got you covered! Bea and Cort took care of us here! Cort took time to explain what came with what, how it came what sold best and was cheerful about it! The food is awesome! The place has a fifties vibe and it's clean! There's like 3 dining areas we sat in the front near the kitchen. We both had hamburger steaks Julie had rice and I had mashed potatoes. Green beans are really good and Julie liked the steamed broccoli. We both had Sundays for desert too! We are for sure going to come back for another visit!!

Never disappoints! Whether for breakfast or lunch meals, you will love your experience at Hub City Diner. Maybe the only disadvantage is when you have to wait to get in! But enjoy your amazing meal- I love their egg specialties, sandwiches, blue plate specials-- and the onion rings! And the BISCUITS!!! Fantastic!!

Great family diner. Down home cooking. Plate lunches are from Momma's kitchen. Everything on the menu is delicious.

My friend and I both loved the grits, as it was hot, buttery, and laced with pieces of corn kernels. We also really enjoyed the fluffy biscuits, warm beignets, and sticky cinnamon rolls. Usually cinnamon rolls tend to be too dry but the one at Parish was super moist and smothered in that ooey gooey cream cheese icing. I also appreciate the option to customize and swipe out sausage meats and veggies. Case in point, I was able to get the eggs benedict with turkey sausage instead of ham. Even though there is a bit of a line at the door, the meals come out fast and hot once your order does get placed. The drinks were pretty standard but my friend really enjoyed his espresso martini and my Paloma mimosa was sweet and packed with flavor. All in all, I really enjoyed every dish and I can't wait to come back and try more things!

Once we finally found it, we were very happy both because - yay we found it - and it smelled so yummy inside. I love a breakfast place with a full bar too. Drinks before 10am, yes, please! So, we get in line to order our yummer biscuits. I like places that have counter type service where you pay for your food and sit. It can make it easier when you have a big group or in a hurry. I ordered the fried chicken hot honey biscuit, the Cameron! ahh hot honey! I would have ordered the crawfish one, because I so those coming out of the kitchen, and holy hell! It just wasn't crawfish season when I went, so noseys to ordering crawfish out of season. I also ordered alcohol, because why not. I got the most amazing Irish coffee! It the predecessor before all these martini espresso followers. I took a very messy and sticky bite of my hot honey chicken biscuit - which was huge by the way - and I was in bliss! I really liked everything about this place. And it was all so clean and the staff were friendly too. I will be back next time I am in town to try more of those biscuits and maybe another Irish coffee? :-)

When we were in the Hub…read moreCity today and lunchtime hit, Yelp's 4.7 rating pointed us to Zorbas, and we took a chance--and wow, did it pay off. We're used to chicken shawarma--a Middle Eastern favorite, with marinated chicken broiled on a vertical brazier and packed with bold, earthy spices. But today, we were introduced to the Greek version: chicken gyro--herby, tender, juicy, and finished with just the right crispy edges. We waited a little extra for the chicken to broil, and it was totally worth it. The housemade red chile sauce added just the right splash of tangy heat to the chicken and faded before it got too hot. The housemade pita bread was soft, warm, and fresh--the perfect scoop for the housemade hummus and tangy, housemade tzatziki. The feta salad was crisp and balanced, dressed lightly with olive oil. We wrapped it all up with flaky, just-sweet-enough baklava (which was not housemade, but still delicious). The atmosphere felt like fine Mediterranean dining--just served up with the speed and ease of your favorite neighborhood spot. Cozy, relaxed, and spotlessly clean. We also saw a steady stream of to-go orders during our visit, which tells you locals already know how good this place is. Another couple dining nearby smiled from ear-to-ear when they heard our praise--they've followed "Moose", the owner, from location to location for years. That kind of loyalty says a lot. Moose and his friendly staff made us feel right at home and clearly took genuine pleasure in hearing how much we enjoyed our visit. We're honestly a little jealous of our Lafayette friends who get to enjoy Zorbas regularly! Zorbas isn't just a great meal--it's a warm, welcoming experience. We'll be back. With friends.

The French fries themselves are consistently cooked to perfection and the condiments it comes with are incredibly flavorful. I often order a mixed plate or salad and they never disappoint. The kids love it too! Don't sleep on this place.

It's a party in your mouth - perfectly balanced sweet and savory with just the right touch of heat. A must-order. Now how do you follow that? Don't worry, I got y'all. The Thai ribs are sticky, so be prepared to get messy. Slow-cooked St. Louis style, they fall right off the bone and are coated in a sweet and spicy soy glaze. There's no host stand or clear seating system, so the entrance felt chaotic. We weren't sure what to do until a nice local told us to just grab a table. After sitting down, it took about 5 mins for a waitress to stop by with the menus. The menu includes both breakfast and lunch items, but the ordering process is confusing. We were told breakfast orders would be taken at the table and lunch needs to be ordered separately at the cafeteria style counter. My husband went to the counter to order lunch while I stayed behind, waiting for the server to return with drinks and take our breakfast order, she never did. The smothered pork dish looked worse than school cafeteria, and unfortunately tasted like it too. It was overly salty and the pork had a weird taste to it. Since we had already paid for the lunch item upfront and still hadn't been able to place breakfast order, we decided to cut our losses and went to another restaurant. Overall, wasted 35 mins and left frustrated and disappointed, definitely won't come back!

The main issue here is the overall service experience and the food quality. The interior is old school but immediately chaos; there is a Luby's style ready serve food line and tables as well for dine in. We didn't know but apparently you just find a table and sit down, we were standing around waiting to be seated for a bit. Apparently you order lunch plates at this hot food line and then order breakfast via your server at the table. This makes no sense. We waited 35 minutes for staff to take our breakfast order and beverages unsuccessfully, so I went up and ordered a lunch plate of smothered pork and just paid up front. The guy working the ready made food line was also pretty rude and didn't want to be there; great! It was definitely below Treebeard's level and was very salty and not very flavorful. The sauce that they poured on the rice was extremely salty as well. Meh food quality and the absolute chaos of the brunch dining experience made the brunch meal very unenjoyable for our group. We left afterwards and went to another restaurant to eat.
