My server suggested the Crawfish enchiladas! Boy, was he right! Those things were awesome! Next I did have the bread pudding because...why not! It was very very good!! Service was amazing, Guy stopped to check in on me everyone few minutes. And the restaurant is very fun and inviting. read more

Ca c'est bon!!! I've been here twice, once while driving through and such a great experience, I came here again while staying in Lafayette. It was just as delicious as the first time! We had chicken and sausage gumbo, Pepper Jack boudin balls, bam bam gator bites and the blackened chicken pasta. The waiter this time was better than the waitress we had last time. He was very attentive and made sure we never had to ask for refills. The appetizers came out fairly normal time-wise I would say. The main portion took a little bit longer than what you're used to at a franchise restaurant but here that's perfectly fine as it's worth the couple extra minutes. The gumbo is perfect(I love when gumbo is not over complicated) I like to add a lil hot sauce to it and it's delicious... only thing is, while they already give generous portions... the cup and the bowl looked exactly the same except I think in the bowl they give you one extra scoop of rice... which would be just fine if it wasn't like $6 more. But still delicious nonetheless. The bam bam gator bites were really good and I highly recommend them. If you like bam bam shrimp you'll love these. The pepper jack boudin balls were good, nothing special but they were definitely worth the try. My co-worker had the blackened chicken pasta and when I asked him how it was he said "dude, it's really good!" lol. The building is pretty unique and they have some outside seating with a massive beautiful tree that over looks the restaurant and takes claim to some of the asphalt in the parking lot lol. But it's a great spot for birthdays, good lunch menu deals, casual date night or if you wanna blow some steam off, they have a little bar in the restaurant as well. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend. I'm from East Texas, so I'm no Cajun/Louisianan but they truly got some good grub here. I'll definitely be coming back several more times when I get the chances. I will warn you, I believe the food is freshly made so when it gets to the table, give it some time to cool off because it comes out HOT. read more

Really enjoyed the festive atmosphere with lively Dixieland jazz music playing in the dining room. Ordered the Boudin Stuffed Pork Chop with side of mashed sweet potatoes & the jalapeño cheese grits. Overall great flavor though the grits were very dry like they had been baked on the plate and had a crispy crust on the outside. They tasted good, but I wasn't expecting that texture. My mom ordered the flounder with cream sauce and sides of potato salad & mashed sweet potatoes. She said she really enjoyed it. They also served a bread basket of thinly sliced salted garlic bread before the meal. We ordered a slice of the chocolate doberge cake to take home which seemed a bit more like French silk chocolate pie with a chocolate cake bottom. Tasted delicious & very rich. Our waitress was very friendly. Plenty of parking spaces outside. They have a large bar area too so seems like it would be a fun happy hour spot after work. read more

We were staying in the area for the night & wanted to try something local. After a few searches, we decided to give this place a try. I had the chicken dish, it was good but a little overcooked which resulted in it being a little dry. I had some leftover ranch from my salad that I dipped it in which helped. Speaking of my salad, I got the Cajun ranch & it was really good! My husband got the blackened flounder & he said it was delicious! I didn't taste it but it definitely looked good! Our server was very attentive & helpful when I had some questions about the menu. This wouldn't be my first choice if I had to pick again but it's definitely not my last. read more

We walked in & noticed on the board for Fridays lunch special -seafood platter for $18. The platter had a yummy crab cake, French fries, catfish filets , fried deveined shrimp & a small salad. All the seafood was freshly battered & fried. Bread pudding was a large portion that we all shared-very good. The service was top notch & the waiter was friendly. We come through Lafayette perhaps twice a year, and hit up Bon Temps about half the time. It's always an extremely satisfying experience. The menu items are inventive, and seem to turn over regularly. The crawfish pot pie, the crawfish enchiladas, the shrimp and crawfish étouffée, and even the side dishes are unusual and always outstanding, as ate the service and the hospitality. We always have a good time. read more

So tasty! I had the blackened chicken pasta, and it was fantastic. So flavorful and a giant giant portion. Also came with some garlic bread, which was tasty, but the pasta was so filling, I didn't eat much of it. Ordering online was a little frustrating as I placed the order about an hour ahead but when I arrived, I was told it wouldn't be made until I got there, so I had to wait longer. The food was so tasty that it was still worth the wait. read more

Excellent food reasonably priced. They have several dishes that are out of the ordinary and delicious. Atmosphere is bustling and warm with very attentive servers. Our second visit was with a group of 10 and everyone was impressed with the food, experience and price. read more

Good food, but the wait was rough. We had reservations and still waited a long time to be seated, and the meal came out late -- including the Caesar salad arriving with the main dish. Great flavors, but the reservation system needs work. read more

The crab and corn bisque was very rich and yummy. We had the crawfish enchiladas, which was very filling and very good. It was way too much food than we can eat so recommend sharing. The service was what you would expect from the south friendly, accommodating, and punctual read more

After scouring high and low for food recommendations, we came here because it seemed to be one of the most popular locations to grab Cajun food. We came at 4:30pm on a Friday. It wasn't busy and we took advantage of their 2 for 1 happy hour. We started with the gator bites appetizer, which I highly recommend! From there it was tough for me to pick what I wanted so I went with the crawfish pot pie. The inside was cold. I was disappointed. The flakey crust was warm, so I'm not sure how the inside was cold... but I wouldn't get it again. Also, food seemed to be lacking season. Something I didn't expect for Cajun food. read more

It was always good. Alligator bang bang is top notch. A little pricey but it's worth it

Mmmmmm mmmmm mmmmmmm!!! We loved our stop here at Bon temps. The food was so good and the vibes were right. We got the crawfish enchiladas, gator bites, gumbo, and some other sides. It was all sooo soooo sooooo!!!! Good. Only critique was that the martinis are a bit more hyped up than they should be but are still fun. Definitely stop by for your Cajun fix! This used to be one of our favorite stops in Lafayette, when this restaurant was at its old location. I've never warmed up to it at the new location, probably because they took the Boucherie Board off the menu. We visited on a Sunday at our friends choice. One of our friends got the bottomless mimosas and a couple in our group got the bloody Mary's, which they seem to enjoy. My friend got the meatloaf which she enjoyed and another of our party got the shrimp tacos which she asked for fried shrimp instead of grilled and they were able to accommodate her. I think she enjoyed her lunch. Now I have to tell you that my husband is a Poboy snob. He really shouldn't ever order a Poboy anywhere but in New Orleans because he is very picky about the bread, but this was not even close to Poboy bread. They should call it a fried shrimp hoagie because the bread almost resembled a hotdog bun, but it was more like a hoagie bun. I think the shrimp was cooked nicely, but my husband said he would never order that again. I ordered the crawfish étouffée. In Lafayette, I think you should be run out of town if you can't make good étouffée. This étouffée tasted OK. It was a little bland, but the sauce seem to be made correctly. What I didn't like was that some of the crawfish were a little gray in color which leads me to believe that this was frozen or leftover étouffée that was not made that day and they added in a handful of fresh crawfish tales, which were bright and fresh and color. It tasted OK and it didn't make me sick or anything so it was OK, but that is the highest praise. I could give it if you are a restaurant in Lafayette, Louisiana, you should make a fresh batch of étouffée for the Sunday brunch crowd. Now, maybe they were having a bad day, maybe the chef didn't show up or he had a late night. I understand this happens with restaurants sometimes which was why I didn't give them a lower score. read more

Bon Temps Grill - Shrimp and Tasso pasta Chicken penne pasta cream sauce - Cajun/Creole Near Me - Lafayette, Louisiana

Came here all the way from Los Angeles while on a cross country road trip and it was single handedly the best dining experience on the entire trip! The food itself was incredible, so flavorful and just delicious, like nothing I've ever had in California. I had the shrimp tacos and they were so tasty. My friends who got the red beans and rice said it was like the best home cooked meal they've ever had! They take customer service so seriously and when I say that it's unmatched levels of kindness I am not kidding. Our waitress was especially lovely and just so helpful and attentive. We ordered an appetizer of crab cakes and they didn't come out until well into the main course (which honestly we didn't mind much since as long as we got them we were happy). But they then promptly took the appetizer off of the bill without us even asking which was AMAZING. We also spoke to someone (presumably like a supervior I think?) and he was very apologetic kind about the whole thing (again not needed but greatly appreciated). When we told him about our road trip he then gave us all a voucher for a free appetizer the next time we come back, whenever that may be. read more

Chelsey L. was an excellent waitstaff!!! Sweet. Helped us with best suggestions. Always had our drinks topped off, and checked on us a lot to clear things and refill bread or drinks. Ask for her if you can! The corn (and crab?) bisque was 10 out of 10! Soooo delicious. Served hot and perfectly seasoned. I could eat 2 bowls of that alone. So tasty. Their alligator bang bang appetizer was so tasty. Crispy crust and drizzled with their awesome house sauce. Highly recommend. 10/10 Their jumbo lump crab cakes were also very tasty. Excellent bake/fry on them. And loved the sauce it came with; just enough spice to it without being overpowering. 9/10 (because it was just 2 crab cakes) Their shrimp po boy had a great serving of shrimp with their house sauce. The bread needed to be toasted more - it fell apart a little bit as it was cut in half. But again, great flavor! Shrimp fried to perfection. And that house sauce is great, a little tangy, a little spice, and really yummy. 8/10 The Bon Temps chicken salad - decent serving. The dressing was THICK. If you like that, great! The salad eater doesn't like thick dressing so they dipped their salad into the sauce to have the flavor. 8/10 Loved the ambience. Loved the music. The workers there were super nice and outgoing. Highly recommend! read more

I've only been to Bon Temps for brunch, however I have always enjoyed it. The food was good, mimosas excellent and the service is great!

Best gumbo I've ever had. All the family loved this place and I cannot highly recommend the food and service.

We had a bridal luncheon here. The person who reserved our table was told we would have to spend $600 to reserve a private room. We were not in a private room, we were in a room that had a partition that separated us from the table on the other side. It took over 30 min just for me to get my water and even longer for my mixed drink. We asked for kids menus and it took so long that my sister ended up getting up and going to hostess desk to get them. The food was just so so. Nothing really to brag about. Our waitresses were very nice. We were almost 20 people, but waiting over 30 minutes for water is ridiculous and they never came back to refill our water read more

We had a decent meal at Bon Temps. The waiter was extremely helpful and friendly, and assisted with some recommendations. We started with the crispy crab cakes as an appetizer and while it wasn't lump crabmeat, the crunchy texture combined with the soft shell or blue crab inside was a nice combo and the white sauce was delicious. Prior to ordering the main course, my waiter was nice enough to let me sample all three sauces in addition to sampling the crawfish etouffee which I appreciated. I decided to go with the blackened flounder over safe sweet potatoes. I found the flounder a little too salty and the portion was on the smaller side but I loved the brown sauce and the salsa. My friend ordered the mahi mahi and while he seemed to enjoy it, it tasted rather bland to me. The waiter gave us some garlic bread to get us started and we enjoyed his pleasant demeanor as well as the restaurant's vibes. I'd say a three star meal elevated by an excellent waiter (strapping broad-shouldered young lad of 25). read more

Stopped in for dinner when traveling through Lafayette on Mardi Gras trip. Nice upscale pubby atmosphere, friendly and efficient service. Hayley was very personable and helpful with menu choices. My partner decided on shrimp tacos at her recommendation and was very happy with them. I took a bite and they were expertly prepared and delicious. I had the Crawfish Pot Pie, it looked huge but was shallower than expected so it filled me up without wasting too much food - I finished all the Crawfish Etouffee inside anyway. It was very good, could have been a tad juicier but it was very tasty. I also had a Ragin Cajun Rita which was spicy and refreshing. Highly recommend Bon Temps Grill for lunch or dinner - the lunch menu looked versatile and economical. read more

Recommended by my hotel and yelp. Parking is small and I noticed that while driving by and also notice they stay busy. Went with a friend and we had happy hour drinks (denoted by alligator image on menu) I had lemon lavender drop martini. It was tasty but I should have upgrade vodka but there goes happy hour price. Lol I ordered red beans and rice meal and the blackened chicken pasta. Both were ....o.m.g goood! Seriously the red beans and rice is like Popeyes but hella better. Just missing the Cajun sprinkle. Pasta was soulfully tasty. I could had my chicken more blackened but that's just me. You get complimentary house garlic bread and it's fresh warm and soft. My friend ordered boudin and sausage and it was delicious too. Service was friendly and on point! I cannot wait to go back and try other items. read more

mr brandon + mr wesley took great care of me after a small mistake was made on my togo lunch order. great service and tasty food!

I've slowly become more disappointed over time. I've said similar before. I have a toddler so I get delivery to my hotel room for dinner, especially if we are tired. Like tonight! I have my order screenshot and the receipt that came on my delivery bag. They don't match my order fully. Missing my drink. Missing the side of red beans (for my toddler because he is a picky eater and might not eat the kids order I bought him) Fries to me mean French fries not potato bits/wedges -- so he wouldn't eat those since they weren't French fries. The Caesar salad dressing was split (oily on top even after shaking the container) definitely meh and seemed flavorless. The boudin balls inside were "watery" kind of mushy with no real texture just mushy. Overall the meal was edible, spice was there, most items were just okay. Bummed because early on I was very impressed with multiple meals. I always say maybe the dine in is better. I'm convinced now though that I won't be ordering out from here anymore. I'm a tired mom alone with a toddler on a trip for a funeral and the last thing I want to deal with is meal order issues with a picky toddler. Also why are their two different fees added to the order too? Nearly a $10 "service fee" what is this service fee? The restaurant tip? Because missing items twice now I'd like to deduct my tip. The delivery and driver were great! I used Grubhub. If we have the sit down time and energy then maybe we will go in for dinner and see if the meals are better served there. The missing items are a consistent issue for me and our history of ordering out with this restaurant. read more

Not Cajun by any means. I don't get the reviews. Everything was completely bland, no seasoning. I had to add salt and pepper to my blackend flounder (and everything else). The "jalapeno grits" didn't have jalapeno and were as dry as polenta. The Crab cake was wet dough with a single piece of crab on top. I can't believe I paid $40 for a plate of fish that tasted this bad. The catfish tastes muddy. read more
