Great atmosphere which reflects the local demeanor, service great, food is hit or miss.

First, quality control is non-existent. Second, staff should know the menu and be able to describe a dish and ingredients. I really want to enjoy this local establishment but I just can't. Three strikes, you're out. Today we went to try their brunch, 5 items should be good right? Asked if grits were plain or had anything in them. Staff had to go ask. I took a chance and ordered it. Big mistake. Cold grits covered with brown étouffée type sauce with shrimp and barely a glimpse of grits - texture way off. Couldn't eat it. Had replaced with big boy breakfast scrambled eggs. Not sure what they scramble these in but they were greasy, mushy and brown - no resemblance of eggs. Taste was horrible! I gave up at this point. Husband wanted to pay the bill and leave and that took over 15 minutes after making staff aware of issue just to try to settle up at the bar. Again, we've tried but never again and especially at the price point. Best of luck! read more

We cannot wait to go back to Allons Mange'! First off the inside of the place is really nice. I love the low lighting and all the TVs. The food was fantastic. I got a cup of gumbo and potato salad. My wife and I shared the fried shrimp platter. The fried shrimp were some of the best I've had anywhere and the garlic bread was amazing. The gumbo needed a little salt and a splash of tabasco. It's clearly made to satisfy elderly people's spice / sodium needs but once I added that it was just right. I would go back and get a bowl of it. That potato salad is perfect as well. Good service, nice atmosphere, clean restrooms. Bring a jacket - the a/c is working overtime The fried pork skins are good, with a spicy seasoning blend. Make sure you have a drink handy before you start on them. (They're included with every meal.). Although they are standard pork skins, they're also kind of dry - a nice remoulade dip with them would be good. Came in for appetizers and left quite satisfied. An order of cheese curds and a boudin sushi was just enough for my wife and I. The cheese curds are pretty standard fried mozzarella. The boudin sushi is very good boudin (probably made in the meat market next door), and the hoisin and yum sauce on it adds a nice little lagniappe. If I come back this way, I'll stop in and maybe try a full meal. Or maybe just another boudin sushi. It's good enough for a meal. read more

It was Really good food! The server was very friendly and helpful. Love the decorations and very comfortable atmosphere.

The dishes our group of 7 were varied and all 7 had different opinions as to the taste and quality of their dish. The seafood platter was not a hit with those that ordered that dish. Gator balls appeared mushy and tasteless. Crab had a paste like consistency and the catfish was not seasoned well. Those that had ordered the Cajun 2 step platter were equally disappointed with their dish as well. When we come to SW Louisiana, we expect large gulf shrimp, these were anything but that. Again, catfish was not crispy or seasoned well although it was very hot! The 2 who ordered Boiled crawfish said it was some of the best they have eaten. Jayda, our service was very prompt, courteous and a joy to be around. The building and interior of the restaurant was pretty nicely done and our only issue was the A/C vents above were dripping condensation onto our table. We had to move the table a little bit. If they can step up their came on a couple of their main entrees I think they will do well. The boudin sushi looked interesting and if we go back it will be a must try. Cracklings were too notch!! Food was not good. Most of the fried items tasted like old grease. I ordered fried pickles and a steak after I tasted the fried pickles I changed my order to a burger. I figures if the pickles didn't taste good then no way a steak would. I figured no one should mess up. Burger. read more

Ambiance 4.5 clean,well lit,nice finishing Service. 3.8 Servers seem to be overwhelmed No napkins on table and when we did get all four for two couples, paper napkins Food. 3.0. Food for four adults ordered at the same time could not be brought out at the same time. One person's pasta was all ready warm/cool after waiting for our food to be served 10 minutes plus later they were asked to heat the pasta up it came back warm. Not to mention the grilled chicken breast was burnt on the edge and the sautéed mix vegetables were cool and also get to the table late. Hopefully they change for the better!! read more

The first time we came it was a 10. This time it is a 2 at best. I ordered a grilled shrimp platter and a cease salad. The salad was old and their caesar dressing is disgusting. I got a huge plate with 10 shrimp surrounding the edge and a piece of garlic Texas toast in the middle. A zero for presentation for sure. The shrimp were not even seasoned well. read more

We were so excited to try this place tonight and now I'm even more excited to go back! First, let me say how nice the restaurant is. It has the coziest outside seating area with a large fireplace. The inside is just as nice and welcoming. We were greeted with big smiles and seated immediately. Our waitress was excellent in walking us thru the menu. We wanted to try Everything! There were 3 of us so we each got an appetizer. I got the spinach dip which was delicious. And don't even get me started with whatever kind of chips they serve with it. They are amazing all by themselves. My friend ordered the crawfish hush puppies and said they were perfect and my other friend ordered the boudin sushi and said it was very good. For entrees I ordered the Cajun Alfredo with grilled chicken and Tasso. It was so creamy and so tasty. I also ordered a side of cabbage with Tasso and it was yummy! One friend got the etouffee and loved it and the other one got the Cajun alfredo with shrimp and tasso and loved it. For dessert we got the bread pudding which was good, but VERY sweet. Next time I will ask for the caramel sauce on the side. We also order the chocolate ganache cheese cake and that was very good, but very rich as well. All in all, it was an amazing experience. Had reservations for 25 people last night 8/16/25. Everyone has order there food. I have order a frozen margarita it taste more lime in then alchohol. So I ask for a extra shot. I was told I had to pay for it. So I said I don't want it. So no alchohol for me to keep my bill to the lowest I can Once the food starts to come out. It did not come all at once. The last food came out when everyone else was finish. Most everyone said they will never go back because the food was not good. Service was just ok nothing to brag about. Then the cook walks out in the middle of everyone's order fornthe whole restaurant. I have heard management is bad in the kitchen and then the upper management should have got back there and help with the problem and not just walk around. I wish I could talk to the owners let them know about there problem. Everything was over price for the quality for the food and drinks. Will less likely recommend this place. Beside this I know one of the owners I hate to see this happen to there business. Maybe them can change things around soon. I rate this place a one. read more

I'm not gonna hit the place too hard but it was a rough brunch here on Mother's Day. We waited 1 hr 15 minutes for our brunch food. Management never came to the table to alert us or apologize about wait time. Hash browns were so salty it was almost inedible, I asked for Texas toast and received a biscuit, and to top it off our check had to be re-done bc our waitress added up the ticket wrong. The waiters and greeter were good. The food is very good. The prices are all over the place. I ordered same beer 4 weeks in a row with 4 different prices. 2 Thursday 2 Sunday. The bartender on Sunday was terrible. At least one maybe 3 drinks we got were made incorrectly. (Missing ingredient and stirred it with ice instead of shaking it). Then disappeared into bathroom with crying other employee talking smack about couple at the bar. Something about high alcohol drink/beer and the waitress shouldn't have served em without her? Not sure if it was age of waitress or what. Poor couple hadn't even seen their bartender in 30 minutes. (Full disclosure we know her and she's sweet as can be and an np or pharmacist.) The ambience here is weird as always. It's redneck whisky bar hunting club. They need to figure out their vibe. And their bartenders. And pricing. read more

We want to love this place. The story, the atmosphere, and the seasoning are hands down amazing. HOWEVER, everything else was horrible. From the timing of the food service so that the two of us could eat together, to the cook of the steak. Seafood and burgers get a good rating. Steaks and delivery of service have the poorest rating. This was our 3rd visit and twice steaks have not measured up.... raw... blue... not cooked. Go for seafood, boudin sushi roll, or a burger. Skip the steaks and dont expect your parties food to be served together. Thank you Jamie for trying to make it right, but this ruined our night. read more

I wanted to send this to your private email so we could keep this between us, but I couldn't find it. I really just want to help. If or when I receive feedback from you, I will amend this review accordingly. Our party of 8 or 9 dined here for lunch on Thursday, January 2nd. Positives: beautiful place! Very pleasant staff! Reasonable prices! Down sides: 1) The Twice Baked Potato was REALLY BAD. Dense, gluey. No garnish of any kind...no bacon bits, no chive, no sour cream, Nothing. To be fair, garnish would not have helped. 2)The Boudin Queso was VERY WEAK IN ITS EXECUTION/PRESENTATION. IT WAS ALL BLENDED TOGETHER SO THAT IT COULD HAVE BEEN SAUSAGE GRAVY FOR ALL ANYONE COULD TELL. The item is named with 2 distinct words. Serve the item as 2 distinct components. The same shallow dish filled with queso, and a nice scoop of Boudin placed in the middle would allow the diner to scoop as much of each component as they like. Kind of like the presentation of the rice with the etoufee. I could mix it as I pleased. 3) The battered deep fried Bow Tie scoops seemed like a really nice idea, BUT THEY WERE REALLY TOUGH AND CHEWY. Is there a reason none of us have ever been served deep fried Bow Tie pasta? Not very good. CRISPY CORN CHIPS WOULD BE MUCH BETTER. 4)Swamp nuggets were kind of weird. What I tasted was a ball of mush with a sizable chunk of gator mixed in. Would a nice piece of coated, fried gator meat not be better? 5)The salads were BEAUTIFUL IN THEIR BOWLS. HOWEVER, THE 5 OR SO SALAD EATERS FELT LIKE THEY WERE GIVEN THE WRONG DRESSING. MAYBE IT WAS JUST DIFFERENT THAN THEY EXPECTED. BUT....WHEN THE FRIENDLY YOUNG SERVER BROUGHT "BLUE RANCH DRESSING" TO ONE DINER, IT RAISED DOUBTS WITH MOST OF THE SALAD EATERS AS TO THEIR ACTUAL DRESSING. 6) I had my heart set on a Po Boy, but was DISAPPOINTED WHEN I ORDERED THAT THERE WERE NO PO BOY ROLLS AT ALL. IT WAS PROBABLY A BAKERY/HOLIDAY ISSUE, BUT WITH A WHOLE SECTION OF THE MENU BEING EFFECTED, A WARNING WHEN MENUS WERE HANDED OUT WOULD HAVE BEEN GOOD. 7) The etoufee was pretty salty.....and i am a salt guy.
