Billy's is definitely one of those must stop shops to visit when in Louisiana. Its been a few years since i've had there boudin but overall it tasted the same! The flavor and meat to rice ratio on the boudin is perfect and I love the crust, but I can say you must eat them fresh or else you'll need to reheat in the oven or airfryer because the crust does get chewy. My only complaint i'd say is that I wish they offered a mild boudin because even the original boudin has a bite to it that can be overwhelming to those who are sensitive. Other than that, the boudin is really good along with the crawfish boudin. On this visit I even tried the fried corn out of curiosity but I wasn't a fan. They even have delicious chicken and pork cracklin but if I had to choose I'd definitely pick the chicken cracklin! Overall, I'd recommend so give them a try, you won't regret it!!!

When I walked in and saw the line but nobody was complaining, I knew I was in the right place. I ordered a crawfish boudin ball, a shrimp boudin ball, fried corn, a shrimp roll up, 1 lb of the chicken cracklins , and 1 lb of the seasoned pork cracklins. My favs were the fried corn, the boudin balls, and the seasoned cracklins. The seasoned cracklins were so meaty! Everything is best eaten hot. I am glad that I do not live close by.

We stopped for lunch on a Sunday, and the wait must have been hours, so we left. We tried again on a Friday around three and the wait was manageable. They have a bunch of crawfish and shrimp items, which I adore. There is no seating, so plan on eating in your car. It's so worth it.

The drive through and inside was packed and we all know why! I had tried several items before including the pork cracklin which is a must. I was traveling with someone who doesn't eat pork so we asked about chicken cracklin and the lady behind the counter highly recommended it. It did not disappoint! I thought it may be mostly fried skin but it had meaty pieces and just like the pork version, it was fresh and well seasoned. Billy's is a must stop on road trips!

Stopped by Billy's Boudin & Cracklings for a little snacky snack on our way to Alabama and it was good! They have lots of creative boudin varieties to choose from, and everything is fairly priced. The place is clearly very popular, but expect long lines that wrap around the store while waiting to be served. Overall, solid food, good value, and worth the wait if you don't mind a crowd.

Second visit on my return trip. Wanted a pound of seasoned cracklin's, but at $24.00/lb got 1/2 lb. Also got crawfish pie for $3.25 at the drive through before the lunch rush Not as great as I'd recalled. Desiccated pork. Very little fat, without which cracklin's are like eating pork flavored insulation.

Sharing a surprise new tasty treat that I ate. Chicken cracklins! If you like pork cracklins you very likely will enjoy this item. It's crispy, nicely seasoned, and has some chicken under the skin. The counter staff were friendly and patient. There were quite a few interesting items to choose from, which made selection a challenge.

Stopped in on the way back home to Texas for some Cracklins and smoked boudin. Service was quick. Only 30 minutes before closing and everyone seemed ready to go. Country store ambiance. Quite a bit of variety. Cracklins were high $$$ per pound but ended up getting a pound for the road at $24.99 a pound. Smoked boudin link was delicious but not as big as they used to be. Boudin egg rolls were delicious as well as the boudin balls with and without cheese. I Spent over $125 dollars on a variety of items since I haven't found anything close to home like these but I don't think I will be stopping by anytime soon if at all. Everything is too high. They used to be better and cheaper than their competitor down the street but it's too expensive now. Boudin ball $3.29, roll ups $3.29, link $8.99 5 stars for service and flavor only.

Yum! I've never tried boudin or crackins before. This place came recommended by a LA native. We happened to pass by and stop for gas at the Chevron station it's attached to and I remembered someone had recommended Billy's cracklins so we decided to give it a try. When we went inside there was a long line for the food. We debated waiting, but I'm glad we did. The boudin was interesting and so good - looks like sausage except it's like a whole meal on the inside. It's basically seasoned rice and pork with lots of flavor encased in a sausage casing. The crawfish boudin ball was perfectly crispy on the outside and deliciously gooey on the inside. Kind of like a thick crawfish gumbo that's fried. Of course we also had to try the cracklins - I would say they are a heavier version of pork rinds, hearty, crunchy, and melts in your mouth. So addictive! We devoured a whole bag within minutes. I'd just eaten lunch 30 minutes before, otherwise I definitely would have gotten more. I will say I am glad this place isn't closer to me because I would eat here too often and it probably isn't the healthiest choice. Definitely worth the wait if you're in the area.

This is your sign to stop in the small town of Scott and get yourself some Billy's! Everytime I'm in town I have to get a smoked boudin link and this time around, I got the boudin pepper jack roll up. BUT my ultimate favorite product PEPPER JACK BOUDIN BALLS. Get them, savor them, hell buy the frozen ones too! If you're buying any frozen meats, they even have cute little freezer bags AND instructions at the checkout counter on how to properly reheat all your goodies. Enjoy!

Best boudin balls ever and they're huge. The boudin itself is legendary. I always stop by on a road trip down I 10.

Driving thru Louisiana it seems only natural to stop off for some boudin balls and cracklins... you know, the whole "When in Rome" thing... I do love the taste of these deep fried culinary delights. I'm sure my cholesterol doesn't love 'em like I do! Anyway, both of these items are really tasty. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about their menu items. The place offers more than just hot food to take away, they have a pretty good assortment of sauces, jellies, chips, drinks, candies, and the like. There's not really any place to sit and dine in, and it gets kind of busy with lots of take away customers coming and going, both inside and through the pick-up window. Overall, I would say it's a worthwhile visit!

I didn't even know that the "Boudin Capital of the World" had this many people. The place was packed, and I visited on an off time on an off day. I guess they don't have any off times or off days. Our wait was quoted at 40 minutes, and it was fairly accurate. They have a full bar to grab a drink and chat with friends while you wait. You can also grab a drink and stand alone in the corner, but that would be creepy as hell. Once seated, I was ready for some food. My kid and I shared some of their firecracker chargrilled oysters, and they were wonderful. Ensure your order has charbroiled oyster,s and you will be happy. The table also had an order of fried onion rings, and they, too, were excellent. My entrée was fried shrimp. When it arrived, I was concerned as the batter looked a little darker than I am used to. One bite, and that concern went out the window. These were some perfectly fried shrimp. This is an awesome place.

She never allowed me so I paid almost $30 for a dish. I didn't even eat. I called the next day to speak to a manager about my experience and he never took accountability. He just told me that there wasn't any complaints on his behalf and they never have been. Typical management stuff didn't offer me a solution for next time I come or anything like that so I've made a decision not to ever return to Prejean's even if they're the only restaurant that's open. Imagine eating food that is not fully cooked at the bottom and still cold but the top is so hot to where you can't enjoy food just disgusting. We had chicken and sausage gumbo, Pepper Jack boudin balls, bam bam gator bites and the blackened chicken pasta. The waiter this time was better than the waitress we had last time. He was very attentive and made sure we never had to ask for refills. The appetizers came out fairly normal time-wise I would say. The main portion took a little bit longer than what you're used to at a franchise restaurant but here that's perfectly fine as it's worth the couple extra minutes. The gumbo is perfect(I love when gumbo is not over complicated) I like to add a lil hot sauce to it and it's delicious... only thing is, while they already give generous portions... the cup and the bowl looked exactly the same except I think in the bowl they give you one extra scoop of rice... which would be just fine if it wasn't like $6 more. But still delicious nonetheless. The bam bam gator bites were really good and I highly recommend them. If you like bam bam shrimp you'll love these. The pepper jack boudin balls were good, nothing special but they were definitely worth the try. My co-worker had the blackened chicken pasta and when I asked him how it was he said "dude, it's really good!" lol. The building is pretty unique and they have some outside seating with a massive beautiful tree that over looks the restaurant and takes claim to some of the asphalt in the parking lot lol. But it's a great spot for birthdays, good lunch menu deals, casual date night or if you wanna blow some steam off, they have a little bar in the restaurant as well. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend. I'm from East Texas, so I'm no Cajun/Louisianan but they truly got some good grub here. I'll definitely be coming back several more times when I get the chances. I will warn you, I believe the food is freshly made so when it gets to the table, give it some time to cool off because it comes out HOT.
