This was the first time in the establishment and was actually caught off-guard by the disposition of the owner. He was quite short and rude, as if these are golden potatoes. Walk-ins are treated as second class, and they don't even come to the counter to take your order-they yell from the kitchen window. I've already seen how the owner responds to reviews online and I expect a smart ass comment below my review. This showcases exactly how he operates the business. Loved it all, only one little piece of advice, the paper you use under the potato gets soft and tears off with the food, you end up eating some paper until you figure that out. Try some better paper or something else. Otherwise, we absolutely loved everything we tried. read more

Where do I start. First and foremost, I wanted to support a small, local black buisness. As a business service representative I could have brought in hundreds of clients for him not to mention incentives, and food industry workers. The owner was the single most rude person I have ever had the misfortune of meeting. Even when I asked for an aplogy for such rudeness, by him and his staff he refused. Customer service was nonexistent. From my understanding he is extremely rude to half of his customers and extremely nice to the other half. He swears he owns a Michelin star restaurant with the way he is passive aggressive and ugly to his customers. I am not the only one, I'm not the first and not the last. My recommendation is do not call before you go. Just go in to order. There wasn't a soul there. There's no tables or chairs. If they are only a "pick up, to-go only" restaurant, they should say that. Traveling back to MS from visiting our grandkids in TX and stopped off for a bite on the way....definitely did not disappoint! I know they are known for their loaded taters but since we were driving we ordered a couple of their sandwiches and the potato salad as a side and everything was so fresh and homemade! I got the BBQ beef and bleu and my husband got the BLT. Both were very generous portions, but I highly recommend LOTS of napkins for the BBQ beef and bleu! It was so full of BBQ beef you couldn't pick it up without it spilling out so be prepared (definitely not complaining!). My husband's BLT was chock full of bacon (which he was definitely not complaining!). The potato salad was absolutely delicious and brought credit to the super tater name. The simple homemade taste was the star of each bite. Since everything is made fresh be prepared to wait about 15-20 min after you order but it's well worth it! This is not my first experience with the restaurant. Despite the fact that the owner speaks too aggressive with the paying customer's, I've tried super taters at least three different occasions because i believe it deserves a chance or two to get it right..... why.....?the potatos (and most flavor combinations) are good. The service time is reasonable (15/20min), and the slogan of the restaurant is"THIS IS NOT FAST FOOD"! Yet, some items are served, and are worse than fast good.1st visit was good, 2nd visit, ordered chicken nuggets for my son that tasted freezer burnt ( had to return) and the grilledcheese was no better, my recent visit, ordered two turkey wraps and soups that totalled $30.20 ... the broccoli and cheese soup had no taste of real cream or cheese. I returned the broccoli for the potato soup, and it was worse!!! Two soups that lacked slow cooked taste! I'd rather go to Panera bread. At least they are consistent in taste. read more

Additionally, one would expect more than just "baked" or "soup" when you label your establishment "tator"... Perhaps small-batch in house potato chips twice a day, with fries in between. Im banned from the store!!!!!Jerry Bobb (owner) was in a bad mood (BEFORE) yelling at several employees for not locking door during closing hours. I arrived about 20 minutes before closing but pre-orders got priority over live customers. (***New rule at the the time) I waited to place my order for 14 minutes while people who pre-ordered were able to cut the line ahead of me. I'm at the register waiting.....while many customers jump ahead of me for 14 minutes. I can not place my order for 14 minutes and I'm standing waiting. I know Jerry Bob really well and have always had good conversation and wished him love and referrals. I mention to him how long I've been waiting. (BTW I said it politely because I saw he was in bad mood) Jerry bobb went off on me like I was an employee*** straight handled. I didn't fuss back, I listened and tried to keep him calm because I saw he was having rough day. (Btw I'm a fucking lion, I let him handle me like a sheep) He makes my food and I leave. Next time I walk in he purposely does not take my order. I ask him whats wrong?? He tells me I'm banned!!????!!! Holy moly is this place the perfect potato joint. Craving carbs galore? Come to super taters. We got the boudin tater and the nat-chos with nacho cheese Doritos to share between two and did not finish either one. I liked both but preferred the nat-chos because of the crisp of the Doritos. The potatoes are baked so well and so incredibly smooth, it's like a smooth mashed potato consistency. Similar to a twice baked potato. The toppings are galore. The price is a bit high for a lunch, but trust me the serving size is huge! I definitely could not ever finish one on my own. One of my friends got the Italian tater, added Parmesan and black olives. I took a bite and I loved it. Will get it next time. Basically tastes like a really good pizza on top of an extremely smooth baked potato. Stopped in because I was craving a baked potato. When I walked in the owner was talking to someone who I assume was visiting. I didn't mind waiting cause I was looking at the menu. After standing for a while he asked if I was picking up and I said no but I'd like to place an order. He seemed so short and made me feel so rushed like I was an inconvenience to his buisness. He rang up the 3 potato's I ordered the only thing I asked to change was to put the sour cream on the side so it don't melt on the way home. On all the menus the prices had white out on them so I had no clue what things cost. After ringing up my 3 items it came out to almost $60. So $20 a potato didn't sound right so I asked for a itemized receipt and I seen they had a misc charge of $10 and also charged me extra fees for putting the SC on the side. I asked what the $10 charge was for and he said that he charged me a walk in fee. Because I didn't call ahead. That's the stupidest thing I ever heard. But if you do want to charge that at least put a sign up and don't try to sneak it in like we are stupid. He don't want customers he only wants to cater to food delivery apps. All i will say is...nobody from this place should try and go on Chopped or any other food tv program. Those critics would wear them out!!!!! Who puts bacon with shrimp and crawfish and a homemade butter garlic SALT sauce together??? This was a high blood pressure bomb!!! After being served 2 B.P. You might think, does anyone need yet another baked potato restaurant? For me that answer would usually be no, but I still had to try Super Taters because "advertising works!". And I'm not gonna lie, I mainly came through to try the boudin/pepperjack melt because it's one of those foods you see that looks so good you *HAVE* to have it. And it was pretty darn good - just as pretty as the photos and I definitely got the meaty, cheesy goodness from the boudin and pepperjack. Loved that slightly sweet and soft bread they use too! Of course I had to get a potato as well...shame on me if I didn't get a potato at a potato restaurant (it wouldn't be out of the ordinary for me though :x) So I got a veggie potato and instantly knew why this place was so popular....one word: finesse. This is the only baked potato restaurant I've seen that stirs some of the toppings into the potato instead of just piling them on top of hard chunks of flavorless baked potato. The texture is creamy and you enjoy much more of the potato instead of throwing half of it away when you're done with the toppings. We were coming through town on a road trip from Texas and thought we would grab a bite at Super Taters since it had great reviews. First off, this place has exceptional customer service for a fast casual restaurant. We actually arrived 15 minutes right before they closed and was welcomed with open arms. This was surprising in itself because we were dining in. Jerry, the owner/manager assured us that we could stay as long as we needed to finish our meals and we NEVER felt pressured to leave. This was even after his entire staff left for the day 30 minutes after they closed! Now on to the product...truly amazing!!! I have never had so many options for preparing a HUMONGOUS baked potato. You can truly get lost in options. They all look so delicious. Jerry has vivid pictures of his signature baked potatoes along with the option to build your own. How can you choose between a gumbo, crawfish etouffe, bacon cheeseburger, shrimp and steak or Frito Pie baked potato?!?!? Decisions, decisions, decisions! I chose the steak and shrimp and it was absolutely delicious!! Furthermore the portion size is totally INSANE! I just finished eating my leftovers (half of the serving) and it was just as delicious as it was on day one. If you are in the area this place is a must visit if you like flavor, great service and nice portion sizes. My wife, son and daughter are still talking about this place.
