(22 minutes) for just coffee, then coupled with a staff goofing off and yelling back and forth like a school yard. Rude waitress that couldn't be bothered with us. We had to fill our own coffee, when one of the other waitresses put a pot close enough to us. 42 minutes later the Management shows, if you wanna call that management shows up. We Go to the front of the house and talk to him and express what's has been happening. Then our waitress suddenly appears and acts like she's concerned about us. We then tell her that we haven't been waited on etc. she then ( Starts auguring with us!!!)and we have tell her to leave our table! We Call for the management and tel him. (1hr 10mins) later we get our food. It's cold over cooked!!!!! We left and never will go back. We are disgusted with the manager and staff. Stay away from this school yard of children. This generation has one thing in mind and it's all about them. We work for our money unlike these incompetent children at the broken egg. read more

I have been here many times for breakfast, and have never been disappointed. The quality of the food has always been good, and level of service has been great! This is one of our favorite breakfast spots and we come regularly and always request the same waitress which is usually not a problem. However today she was working the bar and she could have waited on us but for some reason they would not just allow the waiters to switch tables for one rotation so we could have our usual waitress. I am highly disappointed by this as I have worked in the hospitality industry and swapped tables when someone's regular wanted that person to wait on them. I would think as an establishment you would consider that to be good customer service. read more

I've never been impressed with this place. The food is always just ok at best. If it isn't for the great location, middle of Lafayette, and in River Ranch, I don't think people would go out of their way to eat here. For me, there are too many other options, that have better tasting eats, with cheaper prices than ABE. I'll give it three stars for the location, along with pretty quick service. Best breakfast in town by far! Omelets are pretty good, if a tad on the greasy side (I repeatedly get the crab and cream cheese stuffed omelet called "The Floridean). Prices are a tad high, but I think you're getting what you pay for. They're open from 8:00AM till 2:00PM I think. Expect long lines on weekends, particularly Sundays. read more

Went for breakfast on a Satirday morning. Wife had the crab cake cavallo and I had the southern crabstack. I have to say both were excellent. I've had the crab cake cavallo before and it's better than the crabstack in my opinion. I'll give three stars based on quality of food. I can't believe how long it took to seat us given my dad made a reservation of some sort on either yelp or open table. We waited almost an hour after that time to be seated. The manager and host staff were ill equipped to deal with waiting tables in my opinion. I also think they did a poor job in planning table arrangements as we watched 2s sat at 6s nonstop before having to ask for the manager. Once seated the service was great except for the kitchen fouling one order. The server did exceptionally well for the hand he was dealt and his attitude and the food quality keep this from being one star. Manager was out of touch and dismissive when it came to the fact her host staff were completely fudging up her dining area. She should listen and take a more active role in their operation vs. being on her tablet and being defensive of their decisions. read more

Stopped in for breakfast recently, both the food and service was excellent. To be totally up front, we were the first ones in the door so obviously there was no waiting. Every single time I've gone here I've said to someone, "I am NEVER coming back!" And yet I continue to go because of this restaurant's extremely convenient location. Terrible service. Told 20 minutes for a table for eight. 40 minutes later and after 12-15 tables of later arrivals seated we still had no table or an estimate of when we would be seated. Asked several times if something could be done and told no we had to wait for one table with patrons that had already been there for over 100 minutes to leave. I don't understand why some arrangement could not have been made. Left and drove to Cracker Barrel after waiting for 40 plus minutes and no end in sight. read more

This restaurant was such a disappointment, especially after waiting 45+ minutes to be seated. Both appetizers came out and had to go back (one for being grossly under cooked). Replacement of one of the appetizers took way too long and the other was still not there when our food (which was cold) came out- the fried green tomato appetizer that did finally come out was cold and VERY greasy. We finally cancelled the order of the beignets (something we really wanted to try) because "the new mix they bought is thicker than the old one and they done know how to cook it yet." The pancakes were absolutely from a cheap mix and our son did not even eat them due to the ridiculous thickness and dryness. They were awful. We asked for refills on our coffee that we never got, were charged for items on our bill that we never received and had to have the bill adjusted twice. We will not be returning - there are many better alternatives in the area, I suggest you go elsewhere. read more

I ordered the Southern Crab Stack, it was very fishy, almost gagged on it. Flagged down the waitress and informed her that the dish was very fishy tasting. She was very nice, asked me if I would like something else. I refused , decided to eat the other half of my wife's burger. When we received the check , I noticed she had not removed the Southern Crab stack item. After informing her , she removed the item from the ticket. We used to frequent the restaurant often but lately the quality of food coming out there kitchen has fallen off. read more

It is really convenient for us since it's walking distance, but there is always a long wait, specially (of course) on Sundays. The food is delicious, their Baked Brie Delight is the best. I usually have the King Edward Club but never finish it, also, try the seasoned potatoes! read more
