The food is so delicious, don't cover it up by getting all of that cheese on the eggs and other dishes. It just becomes gross, really. The restaurant is pretty quiet, except for the man at the bar having a loud conversation for a while. Not necessary and rude. Food 5 stars, but leave off the cheese. Plenty of parking is available. Can't wait to return when I'm in the area.

I had a hard time picking one what I wanted because everything on the menu and what I saw coming from the kitchen looked so good. I opted to make my own omelette with swiss cheese, jalapenos and bell peppers; hashbrowns and a biscuit. They advertise that the biscuits are the "world's best" and I have to say they are VERY good. The hashbrowns were perfectly cooked and I could have eaten a second helping of them. This is a great stop if you're in the area, and I feel like I need to make some regular trips to Lafayette to work my way through the menu.

The interior of this location was very nice and welcoming. There was a good mix of seating options that seemed accommodating for both larger groups and smaller parties. The music selection was also enjoyable and added positively to the overall atmosphere. I ordered the shrimp and andouille omelette. I will say the presentation was very stark and uninteresting. Just based on how it looked, I would not have expected much from the dish. While I cannot quite pinpoint how it could be improved visually, it simply came across as boring on the plate. That said, the omelette itself was better than expected once I started eating. The bites that included both shrimp and andouille sausage were the strongest and most flavorful parts of the dish. Overall, if I were judging strictly on appearance, my expectations would have been low. Taste wise, I would give the meal about a 6 out of 10. I did notice several other dishes coming out to nearby tables that looked more appealing, so while this order did not fully impress me, I would not rule out returning. I've been putting off this update for about 5 months, but it's time…read more I've come to Ema's around 200 times in the last 8 years and during The Covid years we even brought Christmas presents for all the servers. We've had many birthdays, baptism parties and even a funeral gathering here. That said, this was our go to place for a good 5 years, but with the management change (Jeremy is apparently gone as are nearly all the staff that was there for years) and us never seeing Ema, things went downhill. The last few visits had issues and when the last issue happened I ask to speak to the manager. To my surprise, and despite only a few tables of people the manager was "not able" to talk to us. We waited and after about 10 minutes left to never return. I can't recommend this restaurant any longer but there are many new options and if you watch my Top 100 you'll find at least 4 or 5 other excellent restaurants for breakfast and lunch. Sorry Ema, but you've let this place go.
