Good grief. Host was indifferent and incredibly random with her estimated wait times (I had 45 minutes in an empty waiting areto watch and hear). 4-5 staff to cover 1/4 of the restaurant's floor, which seems ample. I understand that being understaffed is common and to be taken into consideration, but the hostess quoted same size parties that arrived at the same time nonsensically varying wait times (25 minutes, 45 minutes, over 45 minutes, etc) which seemed whimsical. Front staff person made no effort to accommodate older customers who chose to wait (I offered my bench seat more than once) Sad. Supreme omelette and vegetarian omelette were cooked well and fresh. Kudos to the kitchen. Aside from one crack about "peoples' moms and dads not being good tippers" (I'm a mom so a tad insulting) service was good. I tipped $10 on $28, but I won't be back. I was expecting a little more from this place since it appears to be an upscale from ihop considering the prices. I had the traditional breakfast, everything was good but the pancakes were just ok. Nothing compared to ihops or cracker barrels, they could be a lot better. It's usually busy here, bar seating is first come first serve, we had to ask the bar tender for a refill. For two people it came out to be $33, overpriced in my opinion for the quality of food and meal combinations. Probably won't come back unless I'm with people and they decide to come here. This place is becoming my fav breakfast spot in the area. The Hey Lucy Omelet is delicious and the salsa that comes with it is so good. The grits at another broken egg are so creamy and smooth I could eat them everyday just add some butter and yum yum I also add a little salt but I'm a salt a holic ! The fresh fruit here is always fresh and based on the season so right now it's loaded with watermelon, strawberries and blueberries and no sugar added so it's fantastic for everybody and the natural fruit juice is perfect for me but they do have sugar if want to sweeten your own. I love the bagels here and I usually have a toasted one with a little butter and cream cheese, omg it's yummy. The servers are usually good here, my server was fantastic. I checked in online on the Yelp App so my wait was like 5 minutes and I just checked in at the host stand when I got there and asked her to text me when my table was ready and it was busy inside and hot outside so I just sat in my air-conditioned car while waiting for my text for the table. My girls and I had a great time Saturday morning. We were able to be seated quickly, which is surprising for this location. Our waitress Natalie was the STAR of the show. She made so many great recommendations and my friends were all very happy with their meals. Bubbly and enthusiastic the entire 2 hours we were there...if I could request Natalie each time, I would! I come here at least ones a week for bussiness, and one of my goals is to try every single option from their omelets. Omelets are served with potatoes or grits, I am a grits lover, so that's my option all the time. So far my favorite is the spinach and goat cheese omelet, it is light, but good size + the grits is a great breakfast. The chorizo is good too, not too greasy and very flavorful. I'm not a fan of strong onion flavor, so if you asre like me, I suggest to ask the waiter to mild the onion flavor in any order that has it in it. Their coffee is good, also the pancakes and their french toast. I love the fact that you can order real syrup! (Upon request though). The service is good, staff is very friendly, even when they are training new people, there's somebody trying to get everything in order, so the training process doesn't affect the clients. There's a private room that you can reserve ahead of time. About price, I would say it is a little pricy ($15-$18 per person), but it is worth it, good service and delicious food. read more

Nice little mini chain out in the heart of Baton Rouge. I say mini chain because there are a few of these between Louisiana and Texas, but all are a little different. I had the Mardi Gras omelette and as weird as it sounds and reads it honestly is a fantastic combination of flavors and well worth the order. What is the crown jewel of this place is their city grits. I personally love grits but their city grits take the... grits...cake? I don't know but they are incredible. They mix them with bacon and Gouda cheese so they are extremely creamy with a nice stomper and bacon flavor and just absolutely worth adding to your meal or honestly adding a side of it altogether. I have met some great people there... one customer paid for my meal one day Bailey......the waitress I usually have is always efficient... very nice and chats with me... sometimes... as an older women ......young people don't pay much attention to you.. but Bailey has always been friendly, The food is great...I always have breakfast and try new dishes once in a while (but usually stick to eggs and pancakes or French toast). My husband and I went after church service because our usual spots were slammed. Food is average. Not enough variety on the menu. Service was terrible from the moment we walked in. We opted to "join waitlist" before we arrived but it was treated like a normal arrival, no incentive to joining. We saw people who walked in behind us and not on the waitlist get seated before us. Drinks were not strong, they tasted like juice. Everyone walking around like they don't want to work there. The other patrons also looked they just got in from the club the night before. So honestly I've been here a handful of times. I like the ambiance, it's great for meeting up with a group, they have good drinks, service is usually good but I've never been to impressed with their food until now. I had the lobster and grits and wow! It is really a star! Definitely my favorite dish here by far. Today was a great day: no waiting for a table! My friends and I were brought to our table and was cheerfully greeted our waiter, Cornelius. He told us about the various drinks, the specials and the Game Day special of Boudin Omelette! This was my first time visiting this location but I had a nice experience. I visited at 7 AM on a Sunday, so there was no wait (considering they open at 7 AM). I always get the same thing whenever I visit any Another Broken Egg spot...the fruit, granola and quinoa bowl, which is my favorite breakfast (not pancakes, waffles, etc., yes, this bowl). Now, their other breakfast offerings look super delicious (my husband had a fried green tomato and bacon sandwich, which he said was delicious), so you'll definitely find something that you'll love. The hostess and wait staff were very friendly, which is always a plus. Be aware that the later you go, the longer the wait will be (that's been my experience at any of these establishments). The bacon was thick and Smokey. The rest was standard. I had the Mardi gras omelette. Loaded with shrimp and crawfish and covered in green onion and a great sauce, it was amazing. We had the mixed fruit and city grits for sides. The fruit was great with blue berries and strawberries throughout. However, the city grits were easily the highlight. Cooked with cream and bacon grease, they aren't for anyone counting calories but they're so fluffy and light and creamy that you won't even care after the first bite. I placed order thru door dash upon receiving my food I noticed my items were no secured. No stickers or staples to comply with door dash rules to make sure food is not tampered with. My French toast boxes looks as if it was opened. I contacted the restaurant to speak with manager and she was very rude basically she stated that on the weekends they are too busy to use stickers or staples to secure online/takeout orders. Only during the week that they care enough which I told her was not fair to the customer to make sure food is not tampered with and it only take a second to do so. I informed her that how is it that they can staple the receipt to the bag which took a second but could not staple my bag with food closed at the same time to make sure my food is untouched and she kept saying they don't have time as a manager she should care about her takeout online customers just as much as the dine in customers we are still spending money with the company that pays her to do her job she brushes me off as it was no big deal to her I just spent 40.00 on breakfast and my food was not sealed and box looks to be open it is a big deal to me if I can't eat what I just purchased. She was so rude and didn't give me her name but she needs to be held accountable for her nonchalant actions and treat every order as if it was hers or she doesn't need to represent the company and be a manager she needs to step down she didn't even offer an apology just out right rude saying it's the weekend we don't have time so not fair I would like to be contacted asap about this matter I have already contacted door dash and told them I don't think they should deal with this restaurant due to customers not having their food sealed that's a major issue with everything that's going on in the world you never know when you can become a victim I've always spoken highly of this business and I am very disappointed of my treatment today. read more

"Several broken eggs". It was a egg-stra special morning for me and my hubby! We were in search for an egg-cellent egg dish! Well, with a restaurant with the name "egg" in it... perfect for our immediate needs! I was also yearning for my early morning protein fix! So, when I ordered my lobster omelet, I asked for no cream sauce and no cream cheese... just does not makes sense for me to have on eggs. I requested for more vegetables and mushrooms to add more substance on a natural level. Once I got my dish, I would have been great with it, if they had gotten my order right. The omelet came filled with cream cheese, which was just far too unnatural for me. They asked to take if I wanted them to take it back, but I was able to just scrape it out, so that was fine. Unfortunately, they forgot my mushrooms, so I had to receive them on the side. We had a wonderful breakfast at the Another Broken Egg Café today. We enjoyed the food, liked the warm atmosphere and quick service. A "BIG THANKS" goes to our server, Jamie. She was our attentive waitress, right on target! We ordered "The Mardi Gras" omelette with andouille, crawfish, topped with hollandaise sauce, green onions and red peppers. My favorite was "The Floridian": cream cheese filled omelette topped with crabmeat, green onions and Monterey Jack cheese. Both omelettes came with seasoned potatoes and English muffin. We left nothing on the plates; that speaks for itself. We tasted their grits with blackberries as well. This was OK for me; since I do not care that much for grits, I cannot praise it much. Yet I give it to them, it was good. The berries added flavor, both of us liked it better with the berries than the regular grits. Our most favorite was the Biscuit Beignets with honey marmalade! I've tried Another Broken Egg a few times now and I'm pretty certain that ABE is a solid 3 Star. The wait staff was exceedingly helpful and sweet and I couldn't have asked for better service but the food! I had the the Crab cake Benedict and it was just not good, it wasn't bad but it wasn't good either. The crab cake was mushy, a bit fishy and overall nothing special. The poached eggs were ok on average as one was almost perfect and the other was basically raw. The Benedict was topped by a nice hollandaise but the English muffin base tasted oddly sweet and overall the dish was barely warm. The other issue was the iced cold brew which was very weak and even after I requested just plain cold brew to top off as mine was way too sweet and weak the plain cold brew was a milky tea looking mixture. The plating was good everything looked nice it just didn't live up to that in the flavor department. read more
