This was a TERRIBLE experience. Me, and my party of three, got to the restaurant when Yelp showed a 0 minute wait time. We got to the hostess and she tells us it will be 20 minutes. I look around the restaurant and there are empty tables all around that just need to be bussed.. but whatever, we sit and wait. The hostess never came back to her stand. Finally, 25 minutes later, we were seated a table and chairs. There was a booth right next to us that just needed to be bussed. I asked the hostess seating us if we could have that booth. She ignored me and walked away. Another lady came to bus the table, so I asked her if I could have the booth. She tells me the hostess is about to sit a two party there. I told her we were there first and have been waiting 25 minutes. So she goes to tell the hostess. She never did. Two minutes later the hostess sits the party of two at that able. AFTER I had asked her if we could have it. AFTER I asked the other waitress if I could have it. So, due to the unnecessary wait and complete negligence of the wait staff, my party of three left the restaurant. I have been to this restaurant before and had a similar experience, but waited it out and food made up for it. This time is the last. I am very aggravated with how we were treated, and will not return. read more

Came in here on a Tuesday and the place was packed! I tried a Mardi gras omelette and my girlfriend got an eggs Benedict, both were amazing. The Bloody Mary to wash it all down with was top notch too. Really awesome brunch stop overall! read more

Breakfasts are rich, pricey ,somewhat heavy and definitely tasty. There is plenty of butter and salt in all the dishes. Waits on the weekend are long and the service is somewhat slow as a result. They have a good selection of southern dishes but not a lot of the diner breakfast items. Go every once and awhile, but if you want coffee and traditional breakfast IHOP is probably better, faster and less expensive. read more

Finally was able to stop here for breakfast. The coffee was hot and very smooth. The eggs, over easy, were just right. The seasoned potatoes were wonderful. The ham and bacon were spot on with hickory smoke at just the right level. And, the price was right for two people. Definitely the right place for breakfast. Wondering how the Shrimp and Grits taste and will probably be the next item from the menu. Well Done Another Broken Egg Café! read more

We arrived and had a short wait which is normal on a Saturday morning. While waiting, I noticed one of the hostess was picking at her nails. After sitting down we ordered the biscuit beignets which were delicious but the waiter (not ours) forgot the orange marmalade and by the time he brought it too us we were pretty much finished with the dish. My husband ordered the shrimp and grits. There was a little too much sauce so you couldn't get the true taste of shrimp and grits. We had a perfect view of the hostess stand where we sat and we saw two hostess constantly playing with their hair and scratching their head. I informed the floor manager who told me she is so busy on the floor she doesn't get to notice things like that. We noticed that she was checking tables and relaying back to hostess stand by iPad the open tables. There were three hostess working. Perhaps they need to have one of the hostess checking the clean tables and leave the floor manager so she can be utilized better elsewhere. read more

We went yesterday for Valentine's Day and had such a great experience! The staff was very friendly and cheerful with holiday spirit. There was a wait to get seated, but that's expected when a holiday like Valentine's Day falls on a Sunday. Our food was delicious and my server did an excellent job keeping our drinks refilled and being attentive to our needs. YOU HAVE TO GET THE RED VELVET PANCAKES! They are only offered in February, so don't miss them, they are to die for! Another Broken Egg was a great morning date for Valentine's Day. We'll be back soon! read more

Scott was an amazing server!!!!!! He was super friendly and attentive. He walked us through the menu and recommended some delicious entrees. We told him it was our first time here and he offered us free biscuit beignets! If you come here, ask for Scott! read more

Great place to have brunch. We started with the fried green tomatoes and crab cake appetizer. It was awesome - crispy cornmeal coating on the tomatoes and just enough spice in the remoulade. The hubby had "The Lucy" which is their version of a Spanish omelette. I had the skinny omelette and highly recommend it. It has asparagus, roasted garlic cloves, and goat cheese. Service was great. Already decided to make this our tradition when we visit our daughter at LSU. read more

I ordered the sweet potato pancake with bacon and eggs. The pancake was pretty good, although they went a little heavy on what I'm assuming was chili powder. My sunny side up eggs, however, were way undercooked. I could literally spoon the uncooked whites off the top. I sent them back, and they brought me two more exactly the same. Now, i know sunny eggs aren't flipped, but the whites still need to be a little firm. Instead, i got slimy, mucous-like raw whites. On the other hand, my bacon was burnt. So, all in all a barely mediocre breakfast cost me $17. I'm sure it's not always bad, but that seems to be my luck when I try new restaurants in the area. read more

I have always loved this place but I went to have brunch with my mother in law and a co-worker and there wasn't a lot of people having lunch at the time, so the service should've been on point. Well... our appetizer never came out, no water was offered and had to ask multiple times for it, waitress didn't know the menu (asked for temperature on a sandwich: rare, medium well, well done), carried our drinks in her arm pits. I'm giving a 2 star because of previous experiences but yesterday's experience was a 0. read more

After receiving horrible service at the Perkins location, I decided to try this location, hopping that I would get some type of decent service. I was so wrong. When I came in, the hostess rolled her eyes and gave me a bad attitude. After I sat down, I waited about 5 minutes for my date to arrive. At this point, the sever didn't greet me yet, but the table next to me who sat down after me was greeted. We waited an extra 3 minutes for my server and she finally came. After that initial greeting, she only ever came by twice. One of those times is to hand me a check and said "pay whenever and don't feel rush." read more

Excellent food, and great service. Great menu with the basics to some innovative dishes.

This place was great. My family and I traveled from Texas to New Orleans and my father had to come to Baton Rouge for a little job. We decided to stop for breakfast. After a quick Google search we found Another Broken Egg. The food was great. Service was pretty good (slow to a coffee refill) but other than that great. We had the biscuit beignets (the honey marmalade was to die for, pretty sure I would eat it on everything), waffle sliders, supreme omelet, and pancakes. Everything was great. After we had paid out, we decided we wanted to buy a souvenir mug. We went to the host who asked us to go to the bar. The bartender was super busy and didn't have the chance to acknowledge us, but thanks to our server Toshia who noticed we were waiting we were able to get a mug much more quickly. The only reason I gave four stars was because it was a little too loud to have a conversation and for letting us run low on coffee. read more

I ate here with one other person about 2 weeks ago. We were seated quickly but it took the waitress about 10 min to return with coffee and water. We also ordered an orange juice but after 20 min of waiting in suspense I went up and got it myself. No complaints or anything were made, I just went and got it from the bar. The manager saw this and came over and gave us a half assed apology and comped our drinks...all $3 worth. Our food still didn't come out of the kitchen for another 1.5 hrs. It doesn't take that long to make French toast. When the food finally did arrive it was very good. That is the only reason I'm giving this establishment more than 1 star. Seriously who has 2 hours to wait to get breakfast food? People get hangry after a while ffs. read more

I so want to like this place. The food is below average which is highly disappointing. My breakfast potatoes are always lukewarm, the lobster tasted fishy on my benedict, or my order was just completely unappetizing. Shame as there is limited places to eat for breakfast in BR which is why they get so much business. I've been to other locations, but this one is the worst. Staff is sweet. Coffee cups are adorable. Great venue. Below average food. It is quite upsetting as they have all the tools to be fabulous. read more

I have dined at another location before the move, but clearly the quality and service are not the same. I ate here with friends as a last hurrah before her new baby is delivered but since it was on a game day, I expected a wait. We used call ahead seating, but still had to wait a considerable amount of time. This wouldn't have been a problem, but people arrived after us were seated before. When confronting the hostess, our table miraculously became available. All four of our party work in the service industry, so we understand how complicate things can be when a restaurant gets busy, so we weren't upset. When we were sat, we realized one of the silver sets had gum stuck to it. Kind of gross. But we ordered and Waited for the food. Our appetizer came without enough sideplates for the party so we shared. Pre-bussing was obviously not a priority as our dirty app plates were still there when we receive our entree. I ordered and omelet to share with my wife with an additional side of potatoes and and adult coffee beverage. The coffee was great and refills were steady. However, I asked for the meat in my omelet on the side. When it was brought out, the sausage was not on the side, so we notified the food runner (who was not the server). She said she would bring it out. Ten minutes later, we still didn't get it, so we told the server what happened. He then brought out a side of sausage 7 minutes later, but he confused andouille with chorizo, and by that point we were done with the meal, so no one ate the sausage. And as it turns out, the initial order was incorrect---the middle of the omelet was filled with meat, but there was none around the side. As a vegetarian, I was pretty unhappy about the situation, but I still didn't get mad. Honestly, we only asked for one modification-sausage on the side-but it was a big ordeal. We didn't worry much about it, but when he brought the check, we were charged for an EXTRA side of sausage. Also, our potatoes were cold. We asked him to remove the charge; he apologized and brought a new receipt without an itemized copy. He removed the appetizer from the other guests' check, but we didn't eat that nor did we ask for that. Our bill was the same price as the initial receipt. I suppose he thought we wouldn't notice, but with a group of servers/engineering majors, I guess we were lucky to be knowledgeable. We then asked for a manager. She removed the charge and quickly dropped off the check without speaking to us or offering an apology. I was pretty disappointed with the entire experience. At least my coffee was good. read more

This review is more about the Baton Rouge residents. While the menu was great, food was served cold. I was visiting my home town with Southern University graduates. The Baton Rouge residents were so rude and allowed their children to run around, throw food while the parents totally ignored them. At the end of the meal the parents had the nerve to say something very rude to our table. The restaurant management did nothing about the situation. Combination of rude Baton Rouge natives, poor service and ineffective management I would not return. I am told this happened because we were wearing Southern University attire. I am proud of my accomplishments and of Southern University. I hope this is not true but I am told to wear LSU attire for service and fair treatment in the future. read more

It took us 40 minutes to get seated when they told us 20. Our waitress was nice but not very attentive. When we first sat down, I immediately ordered grits because I was so hungry and I assumed they would come out quickly. We would seldom see our waitress and ran out of coffee and did not know where our food was. Over an hour later we finally got our food. Our waitress said it was due to a large party in front of us. The food was good but not worth the wait. I got the Hey Lucy omelette with no cheese. It was filling but at that point I would've eaten anything. My boyfriend ordered the Mardi Gras omelette but it was missing the hollandaise sauce . The grits that i ordered were forgotten about and when I got them I was pretty sure came from a batch. Sundays might be busy but they pay more attention to larger parties and overlook parties of two. Service? What service? Overall it was a terrible 2-hour experience. read more

Do not come on a Saturday or Sunday. The kitchen is horribly managed. It took over an hour and half to be seated and then an additional hour and change to be served our food. And then it wasn't all that terrific. I would not recommend to anyone. Poorly managed. Poorly run. read more

Last week we came to Another Broken Egg and waited for 10-15mins and no one waited on us so we left. Today we gave them another chance. Only to be very sadly disappointed. We were seated and within a few moments we were waited on by a wonderful young waitress who did her very best. But we waited for OVER 30 mins for eggs and oatmeal. When the meal arrived, the eggs were stone cold and hard. The oatmeal was quinoa (which the manager insisted was their oatmeal...come on!). My meal included onions that were not supposed to be included. We will not return any time soon. Why is breakfast so hard? read more

I'm giving this place 2 stars solely on the health issues I witnessed. Was seated by the kitchen so if I look to my right I can easily see what is going on in there. I witnessed my waitress clean up a table and carry 2 handfuls of dirty dishes, dump trash where needed and put the plates in the sink. What happened next is what completely grosses me out.. She proceeded to put up food plates that just came out and picked up toast and bagels and put them on the plate! She didn't wash her hands at all after touching all those dirty dishes but was touching people's toast and bagels. Not only that but she was wiping her hands constantly on her pants where there was already some dirty stains. I felt like I was going to be sick. She wasn't the only one who did this, majority of the waitresses/waiters didn't wash their hands before touching people's food. If I ever am in Baton Rouge again and happen to somehow come here, I'm going to have to be super careful about what I choose to eat. read more

A wonderful breakfast the biscuit & gravy was awesome..... Hard to find a good breakfast gravy in a restaurant.

The service was poor and the food was cold. They had blacks on side and whites on another side.

So i created this account just so I could leave a review. I'm really tired of getting terrible customer service. So i went here on my lunch break today around 12:30 with an old friend. Upon arriving, the restaurant definitely wasn't very busy. This was my first time visiting and I was quite surprised by this based on all the hype around this place. Anyhow, it took a bit for us to finally be greeted and get a table. Our server was decently prompt on greeting the table, but after that it was hard to get her to acknowledge we were even there. We each ordered our food (me-the ceasar salad and her-one of your crabcakes plates). We waited for quite some time. Upon waiting, we were brought some beignets that were complimentary to all new guests. These beignets were overcooked and tasted very burnt. Not a first impression I would want to make as a restaurant owner. About 45 minutes into us being there, our food finally arrives. We had to immediately ask for to go boxes and couldn't even enjoy the food because we were on our lunch break. I have to say the salad was actually pretty good. I ate it once I returned back to the office. That is the only plus to our visit today. I may still try again, but most certainly not when I have limited time. read more

Absolutely horrid hollandaise sauce. Obviously a fake mayonnaise based sauce. The mayo is the only thing you can taste in the whole bloody dish. I expect something better tasting than pure mayo for these kinds of prices. I would recommend fast food before going back here again. read more

On 10/1/17 arrived at 11:30, requested table for 3. Wait was supposed to be 45minutes but was an hour and 10 minutes then waited another 50 minutes at our table for the food. Our server was very sweet but appeared very stressed . The long wait ruined our enjoyment of what was really delicious food. I wish we would have been informed of the ridiculous wait time. In retrospect , I should have gone elsewhere. Long wait , slow service , poor dishonest communication regarding wait time. I won't be back. read more

If I could give them 0 stars I would. Hands down the worst restaurant experience ever. We waited 45 minutes after our order was taken before our food came. The beignets were burned, and our entire meal was so overcooked that it was inedible. The manager asked if we wanted a to go box. My husband asked if he was joking. The four of us, including two children left without eating. They were giving out yogurt tubes to people because the wait for food was so long. Several customers left because their food never came out. The waitress barely came by. When we asked what was going on we were told there were all new people in the kitchen. Avoid this place at all costs. There are much better and more reasonably priced brunch places in BR to choose from. read more

The service was terribly slow even though the restaurant was not that busy. Larger parties that got to the restaurant after us were served before us. We ordered the biscuit beignets and 8 dry little morsels were put on a huge platter without the marmalade. We also ordered our breakfast meals (pancakes and an omelet) and it took 45 minutes to get our food. Just as we were about to walk out the food came. Our waitress said it took so long because the kitchen was having trouble cooking the eggs correctly... The sausage came out completely burnt and the eggs were rubbery. The omelet came out with a dollop of cream cheese folded between an egg with the toppings haphazardly thrown on top. It took 45 minutes to throw together some very unappetizing food! The only good thing about the visit was the manager comped our meal. Another Broken Egg is deserving of 1 star because of the long wait and the way the food was carelessly prepared and presented. Needless to say we will not be back. read more

server was friendly but food was slow (and expensive!). food was good but not for the price and the Bloody Mary was not very impressive...

Not at all impressed with this place. It has a nice atmosphere, food was decent (pricey though considering it's breakfast food) & service was good. What I couldn't get was how awful the coffee was. You would think at a breakfast/brunch establishment they would serve a good signature roast cup of coffee. I wouldn't mind paying for the pricey food if I knew the coffee was a must have. read more

At well over $10 per meal for breakfast, I was expecting something truly special. The menu items sounded fantastic and would gladly have paid those prices if the food was as good as it sounded. It wasn't bad, just not great. The wait for a table was about what we were told it would be - about 25 minutes. The server was very nice and friendly, but the wait for the food was fairly long. It was Sunday morning, so this wasn't totally unexpected. However, we did order an appetizer which only made it to the table slightly before the meals did. While the Baked Brie and crabmeat caballero sounded wonderful, they were both just lacking in flavor. Might return, but would only order much cheaper and more ordinary menu items as the pricier ones were just not worth it. read more

I never liked to eat grits until I ate the Shrimp 'n Grits. The flavors are so amazing, even when adding a hint of lemon juice! Their food is really good. I usually have a great experience. However this last time, not so much. We had a Brittany Jones as our server who was extremely disconnected. My 2 yr old son speaks to everyone. When she initially came to our table, he spoke to her so genuinely a few times and she acted as if she never heard him. I understand that everyone doesn't have a love for children, but as a server, you should have a love for people. The only condiment we asked for (our entire visit) was butter. She never returned to our table until we had half eaten our breakfast and without butter. When we asked for butter again, she went to grab some, came back and tossed it on our table while still walking. At that point we needed to speak with a manager. While talking with Jennifer, who was pleasant, Brittany felt need to roll her eyes and stick her tongue out towards our table. We asked that she didn't return as our server. Maddie was who they sent over and she was so sweet! She engaged with us and our son right away! Moments after Maddie left our table, Brittany drug her back and said sarcastically, "THIS IS YOUR NEW SERVER, MADDIE!" I went straight to the manager, Jennifer, who assured me that she was given directions to no longer come to our table. I was infuriated at how she insisted on provoking the situation and ignoring the on duty manager's request. I chose class and taste when handling the situation. I spoke with Ms. Lisa (the regional manager) I believe, who was also very sweet. People like Brittany should not work at restaurants, especially those that focus on breakfast and early mornings. Ask for Maddie, if you visit this location. read more
