Came here for breakfast. Had the Bourbon Street Pancakes and they were so dry, Even with syrup. We also had the cinnamon roll pancake and it was good and moist (these had more toppings and made/cooked differently than the Bourbon Street ones, see pics) . I did the bowl with ham, grits, eggs, and cheese gravy on the side with the biscuit. And it was good.

I had some visitors in town and food/cuisine wise they could be hard to shop for, so to speak. However, I've yet to meet anyone who doesn't like a big hearty 'MERICAN style breakfast. Another Broken Egg Cafe was a bit far out but decided it was worth it with all the positive reviews. We chose to sit inside-just to bright and sunny out and we had a fairly mixed group, seniors to littluns. Our server was great, waiting patiently with both the kiddos as well as the non-English speakers. I went with the Shrimp and Grits because it's not something you see super often. It was a hearty meal, with a good amount of shrimp, seasoned right, a little on the mild side spice wise but that was easily remedied. A lot of good southern staples with friendly, patient service not much more you can ask for.

Another Broken Egg Cafe is one of my go-to spots around Austin when I'm craving breakfast or brunch! They have seasonal offerings, you can substitute fresh fruit for the sides (extra cost), and the service is always great! You get good portion sizes and they have a lot of different options on the menu. FAST FACTS: * Parking - Decent size lot outside of the restaurant but it can be a little tough to grab a spot if they're pretty busy (like during brunch on weekends) * Waitlist - No reservations but you can join the waitlist on their website through Wisely. * Online ordering - Available on their website for pickup and delivery (with the exception of alcohol) * Gluten free and vegetarian options available * Allergen and nutrition information available on their website * Seasonal menu offerings * They usually ask if it's your first visit and will give you some complimentary biscuit beignets! SERVICE - I've always had fantastic service each time I've visited! There may be a wait if you visit during peak hours on the weekend but they do their best to get you seated quickly based on your preference of indoor or outdoor seating. Our server brought us water right away, checked on us throughout our meal, and our food came out quickly. Even when they are busy, the workers are always hustling and still maintaining great service! PRICING - The total was $56.02 after tax ($4.27) but before tip for a 1/2 order of biscuit beignets ($5.49), a Broken Egg biscuit sandwich ($13.79), substitution of fruit as a side ($3.49), cinnamon roll French toast ($13.49), and Bourbon Street pancakes ($12.49 + $3 for sides). BISCUIT BEIGNETS (9/10) - I get these every time I go as an appetizer! They're COVERED in powdered sugar, nice and hot on the inside, and it comes with a honey marmalade to dip them in. You can get a full order (8) or half order (4) depending on how many people you're splitting them with. I'd order these again! BROKEN EGG BISCUIT SANDWICH (8/10) - I love their biscuits! They're soft but flavorful and holds up when you're eating the sandwich. The piece of chicken was pretty massive and cooked perfectly. The egg and country sausage gravy made it a little messy but in the best way! It comes with potatoes on the side but you can substitute fresh fruit (strawberries, blueberries, grapes, and pineapple) and a pickle spear. I'd order this again! CINNAMON ROLL FRENCH TOAST (8/10) - Delicious if you love cinnamon rolls! You get 3 big pieces drizzled in cream cheese icing and a rum butter sauce with fresh berries and whipped cream. If you want a sweet breakfast, this is perfect for you! BOURBON STREET PANCAKES (8/10) - You get 3 big pancakes topped with bananas, pecans, a rum butter sauce, and whipped cream... what's not to love? I love getting these to split with a table for some sweet bites in between savory ones. It comes with two eggs and a choice of meat... the house-made sweet & savory sausage had a great taste and texture! You get 2 decent size pieces. I'd order these again! CITY GRITS (7/10) - I love grits and these were pretty good! They're almost like a loaded baked potato but in grit form... they're super cheesy, topped with bacon, green onion, and tomatoes. It's a good size side and could even but split. I'd order these again! I've been to Another Broken Egg Cafe a handful of times and will continue to visit when I want a delicious breakfast or brunch and recommend it to others! I love trying new dishes every time I visit, especially with their seasonal offerings!

Service and atmosphere was great the moment we walked in! Host was sweet and Suzi was super sweet! Food came out quick, she was very attentive and kind to give us beignets as first time customers which were delicious! Especially the marmalade. We ordered the Lobster and Brie omlette along with Smoke Salmon Benedict. Both were a bit on the salty side for us, but overall cooked very well. Veterans Day was yesterday and Suzi mentioned the free meals they were giving. My girlfriend happens to be a veteran herself and it was her birthday today so Suzi packed a few extra beignets for us. Thank you so much again! Would definitely come back.

This place was really cute with good food. We were seated immediately but were not attend to until 5-7 mins later. They did give us the menus but waaaaaay too long to review before anyone came over to offer drinks. They were busy but not THAT busy. Food was great and delicious. Everyone enjoyed his/her meal. Portion was large. We shared the french toast, sweet and tasty. Loved the coffee mugs, so cute and homey. The service was ok/inconsistent. Spacious with many tables, also has outdoor seating. We'd be back for food when in town again.

Amazing customer service, Amazing food, I would go here every week if I could. A huge variety of foods to pick from. The environment is very friendly and bright. The workers are very kind and polite.

Spacious, clean, attentive & friendly staff, and easy parking. Went here for breakfast and cup of joe, and got impressed with their great coffee and somehow the Bloody Mary got me at "bacon & olives" so it turned out to be a Great morning after all. The foods are delis, tasty and well presented. The beignets are light and fluffy and perfectly well paired with the jams (not as great as in New Orleans, but good enough) with coffee and the Bloody Mary. Overall, bloody fantastic place to start out the day.

The food was just average. The restaurant was very clean and well maintained. The restrooms were clean as well. The waitress was very attentive and did a good job of refilling coffee and ensuring food was ok. I'm just not one to complain about suttle kitchen prep. The pancakes were slightly tough, and needed extra syrup to soak it up. The sausage patties were a little different seasoned; and moist. I paid around $25 for this meal. :/ It's really just a franchised breakfast joint located in a hippie area.

The atmosphere, service , and food is just what we were looking for! We came in after a hike and enjoyed a few different items. We got in line ahead of time and were sat within 5 minutes of arrival! The waitstaff is very knowledgeable and accommodating! The (manager I think) was very nice and checked on us quite a few times , also cleared our table and helped with a new situation when we were on the patio! We ordered the Tiramisu French toast which was delightful for a little treat! A tad too much cocoa powder for me but that espresso whip is amazinnnggg!!! I'll take a whole can of that next time .. please. lol Eggs and potatoes were cooked and seasoned perfectly! Both trip ms we had the blackstone Benedict with no bacon- however both times it was originally brought out with bacon and had to be sent back. However my partner enjoyed it once corrected hints why he had it both times. The lobster and Brie omelette was what I ordered the second time around and it was great however a little salty. The grits with cheese only were better than the previous bowl of "city grits" The strawberry pound cake French toast was basically just pound cake it did not give French toast vibes at all- probably wouldn't order again. Over all I love this place and the large menu! We will be back this weekend to try more!

    Bourbon Street Pancakes

I went here for the first time surprised that I hadn't been yet. The menu is full and everything looks so good. I already knew I wanted the Bourbon Street Pancakes before I arrived. I love bananas and pecans on/in my pancakes so the added rum sauce was a bonus. Unfortunately, it was all way too sweet. It came with a side of meat and eggs which was nice. I don't eat pork, or chicken and those were the only options for a meat side with the meal so that's strike one. Where's the turkey bacon or sausage for a healthier option? I was brunching with 5 other ladies and everyone's food looked great when it came out. The biscuit beneigts that were ordered for the table were the best thing I tasted in my whole meal. I wasn't impressed with the mocktail I ordered because it tasted mostly like soda instead of the pineapple juice and other ingredients that were supposed to be in it. As for service... Several of the drink orders we made came out after our food because "the bartender was backed up". And a couple of food items were also late. We had to ask about things that had not been served yet instead of being notified that there was a delay. The server we had was really nice and doing his best because I think he said it was only his second day. So there's some grace there. We sat outside and most of the meal there were wasps visiting our table being a nuisance. We thought they were bees at first which would have been okay but once we realized they were wasps it spoiled the mood with everyone being fearful of being stung. I spent $30 on food, drink and tip for a meal that was less than great. So glad that the company of the ladies I was with made the overall experience a good one. I may go back again to try different food/drink items and sit inside in hopes that this was just a fluke. We'll see.

I tend to avoid those places. Vida Verde Kitchen, thankfully, is not that. Tucked into a great area but slightly hidden (the kind of spot you feel proud to "discover"), Vida Verde feels like a restaurant that exists for people who actually want to eat, not just post. The menu is a thoughtful fusion of Tex-Mex, fresh flavors, and Americana--familiar enough to be comforting, but creative enough to keep things interesting. Yes, it's a bit overpriced, but the food earns its confidence. The guacamole is an absolute must, and anything leaning Tex-Mex is consistently solid. I can vouch. The wait staff deserves real credit here--knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely invested in the food and experience, which goes a long way these days. The atmosphere hits that Austin sweet spot: industrial touches softened by lush green foliage. It's stylish without trying too hard, which is rare and appreciated. If I had one note? This place needs a happy hour and a few more solid specials. Do that, and Vida Verde becomes dangerous--in the best way. Some of it is still the same but still a nice place, sports on the TV's at the bar and nice lighting. We didn't think about tables being reserved for the day but lucky for us one couple didn't show and they gave us there table. Our waitress was very friendly and fast, she and Shana hit it off pretty well. The drinks were good and came out pretty quickly considering it was fairly busy. They also had managers or supervisors going around checking on everyone which is nice. Now the food, It was good as usual but I had ordered my smash burger with mayo, cheese, and bacon. I am a simple person, I was a few bites in when I hit chopped onion. As we had been there awhile and were ready to go so when the server came back around I asked for the burger to just be removed as we wanted to go. They either didn't hear me or didn't listen as they took it to get it corrected. So I tried to talk to a manager to explain we just wanted it removed, not remade as we really needed to go. He said he would take care of it, then nothing for a bit and a new burger was brought out. So I just took it, ate a few bites and got the check. The server was very nice and even took pride in getting us a new burger but I felt that no one listened to me at all and it soured a lot of the visit. They did have a 3 course Valentine's day menu. Overall we still like this place but the being ignored twice was frustrating. We were tired, we wanted to go.

The flavor was on the slightly bland or mild side (very subjective, and I ddin't add extra sauce), but I appreciated that it didn't seem to have MSG. Unlike some pho places where I usually feel thirsty afterward, this felt lighter, which was a big plus. Overall, it was a decent experience. This place is legit when you see that it is full of local Viet on a Sunday afternoon!…read more The menu is pretty good with authentic Vietnamese food but we normally come here for the S1 Ribeye Hot Stone Pho. They bring out the meat and noodles separately and then the soup in the stone bowl. This time the asked me if I wanted all the greens-- lime wedges, basil leaves, jalapeño slices and bean sprouts. I never eat the bean spouts but use everything else and it always seems a waste of bean sprouts when I don't use them so I was thankful to have them hold the bean sprouts. Be careful as the soup is extremely hot and the hot stone bowl keeps it that way for a while. You fill the bowl to the brim after adding all the meats and noodles. My only complaint is the noodles. They are fresh and just the right texture... very good! But for some reason the always seem to get cut up after I put them into the bowl. Not sure if they cut them before hand but they end up cut short when put them in the bowI. I prefer long slurpy noodles over cut noodles that's hard to pick up with chopsticks. Overall I still give it 5 stars and this one of the two best pho spots in the greater Austin area

The Arboretum Market (not to be confused with the actual shopping plaza across the street of the same name) was happening and some folks were set up at Juliet selling their arts & crafts wares. Every Saturday 11 am- 3 pm in the Juliet parking lot is the Arboretum Farmers Market. For a light lunch I shared a Caesar salad and cup of tomato bisque soup with my boyfriend. Perfect Juliet goodness. Since it was Mother's Day and during brunch hours, they got extremely busy. However, service didn't suffer. We were in and out just like that!

The butter lettuce dressing was off (more oil than vinaigrette flavor b/c they didn't mix the dressing well), they didn't offer welcome bread service, and my friends also felt their food was not as good as when we've all been before. They did take off some of the price of two of our butter lettuce salads. We were surprised that adding salmon cost $14, which seemed excessive! It was nice they seated us in a separate table for 6 since it was my birthday and they did give me a birthday treat, which I appreciated. The others all ordered deserts as well but I forgot to take photos of the deserts. They didn't seem that full/busy, but we had to waive down someone several times to answer questions and ask where certain items were. Our server was very nice and helpful but often we couldn't locate her so others we could flag down helped us. I hope they address some of the food quality and service items because many of us have really enjoyed going here in the past.

Another traditional Christmas lunch at our favorite and nearby hibachi restaurant this past…read moreChristmas Day! The menu seemed to have changed a bit from last year, but looked substantially the same. We were able to call that day to check for availability and were able to walk in and get a seat for 3 at the hibachi table and didn't have to wait too long to get our orders in and eat. We enjoyed the entertainment the chef provided! We sometimes weren't clear who our server was so it took us a bit to flag the right person down to take a drink order. We ordered chicken, shrimp, steak, and salmon dish options. I had a hot sake too. I liked the onion type soup with mushrooms they offered this year as I'm not generally a fan of traditional miso soup. The place was nicely decorated and we enjoyed the annual experience of eating Japanese hibachi on Christmas Day! I'm sure we will be back again next year!

When we arrived at the restaurant, the hostess said that she didn't have the reso on her end; rather than apologizing or making a single effort to fix the issue, she just stared at us. We had to prompt her for clarification and next steps, and had to continue to prompt her through the process of getting us sat. When we finally sat down at a regular table, we waited about 15 minutes without a server coming by. I eventually flagged a server down, and we got our order under way. We requested the manager stop by to tell him about the issue with the reservation and the fact that his hostess needs additional training, and surprise, the manager was also not helpful. He did apologize for our reservation being lost, but blamed it on the system and denied any responsibility for taking care of it - basically just told us that "life is life". He did not offer a discount or any kind of relief for the setbacks or bad service. I wasn't expecting the world or anything, but good hospitality dictates that you do more that basically tell us to just deal with it. For the food: the sushi was pretty gnarly - it looked like somebody was angry at the fish when they were slicing. Most things needed salt. Steak and fried rice was good, but the vegetables were pretty much raw. I can forgive quite a bit when it comes to service, especially on graduation/mother's day weekend. But honestly I'm a little impressed at how little the entire staff cared about their guests.

When I arrived, there was plenty of parking available. They had a private room space reserved for our group. The servers were friendly and attentive to our needs. They brought out complimentary bread and butter, which was served warm and fresh. We had a prefix menu to choose from which consisted of a salad, petite filet and a side item. I ordered the Caesar salad and filet cooked rare with flash fried green beans and paired it with a mezcal cocktail. The filet that I was served was a bit smaller than others, but my filet was cooked as requested and topped with butter. The filet was tender and exactly the protein I needed before race day. The green beans were so flavorful and had the perfect texture. The Smokey and the Bramble cocktail featured Fósforo Ensamble Mezcal, Bombay Sapphire Gin, lemon juice, blackberry purée, and club soda. It was a very refreshing and flavorful craft cocktail that paired well with my meal. Great atmosphere for a group dinner and the service kept everything moving smoothly for our team.
