Let me start by saying I never give five stars. But. It just feels right. This place was a very pleasant surprise. Its always kinda scary to go to cafes for breakfast. The old dishes and haunting filth is always such a let down. Another Cracked Egg was a breath of fresh air. One of the owners was walking around saying hi to customers. She offered us a basket of beignets. Mm. Messy, but delicious. I got a Baquezo, which is outside of my comfort zone. I was not disappointed. My husband got the shrimp and grits, which were not THE BEST shrimp and grits we've ever had, but they were still yummy. The coffee was really good, as were the mimosas. We left very satisfied and with food for later, as the portion sizes are quite large. We were expecting the bill to be about $20 higher than it was, which is always exciting. I have been here several times and have always had excellent customer service and food. Last week was the opposite. I ordered the city grits. The food was cold. I sent it back and then it came back hot with no seasoning. Third time was a charm sort of, it was hot and had seasoning but it was a heavy smoky flavor, I'm not sure if the bacon was burnt, but it was not my usual five star dish! read more

Wow, all I can say is wow. Very impressed with my experience at this restaurant. The location is perfect. Dining room is beautiful and welcoming. It was so hard not to leave a 5 star review and unfortunately there's no half stars. I had the Broken Egg Biscuit Sandwich and every component except the biscuit itself was delicious. The biscuit was so hard that it was not edible so I had to deconstruct the sandwich to enjoy. Last minute brunch on a weekend is always hectic. This place was packed so we had to wait a while but it was worth it! Got the seasonal chicken picatta Benedict which I highly recommend! Both of our plates were huge servings and despite our efforts we couldn't finish either. Our waitress also gave us free beignets since it was our first time! I ordered the eggs benedict with lobster and it came with a grits options. The benedict was good. I did not realize there would be this thick potatoe hash brown patty on the bottom. That was a bit heavy. The flavor was good. I did feel as though it was quite a bit going on with it. The grits were creamy and kicked up with toppings that worked well together. My love had the cinnamon roll french toast. That was decadent and delish. The server brought out the biscuit beignets since this was our first time in. OMG they were so good, warm, airy and doughy at the same time. The marmalade was a nice touch for dipping. We had mimosas. One with cranberry juice, the other with strawberry purée. Hungry for breakfast here in Texas and decided to come to Another Broken Egg Cafe. We got seated quickly by the hostess and Suzy, our waitress introduced herself and was quick and friendly. I had ordered the Hash Brown Benedict and Stace got the Chicken and Waffles. I had also ordered the City Grits - Grits w Bacon, Green Onions, and boy was that delicious. I'm sorry I was not able to told photos of what we had ordered but this restaurant will not disappoint! My boyfriend and I have started to go out a bit more and one of our goals for 2022 is to try new breakfast spots that we haven't gone too before especially on the weekends. So on Sunday we decided to go try a new breakfast spot it was a close call between here and cafe Java but we took the trip into the far west area to find this hidden gem. Stepping into the restaurant this spot is in a cute plaza next to the randalls. The decor is super homey and inviting, the host promptly greeted us and sat us down at a table. A lot of places have gone digital due to Covid but this space still has paper menus and I actually prefer these physical menus! Once we sat down we both decided on two different types of Benedict's and ordered with the super attentive server. She was great and checked on us often throughout the meal, in a world where service industry workers are lacking she deserves an A +. The restaurant has a lot of families and got super packed around the time we were leaving at 10am. This place has such an extensive menu and the food was wonderful! Where do I start with this place... we made reservations and waited 45 min (not a big deal). We were asked outside or inside. We chose inside and they said it would be a little long of a wait (again not a big deal). We got called that our table was ready and they put us outside... we said we requested indoors and the host girl (black/brown hair approx. 5'3'') said we have to put you in the back of the line for inside and then walked away before we could say anything. We then said just put us outside since we had been waiting so long already and she was very condescending and rude (why would you hire this type of person?) We then asked for our check from the guy with tattoos at the bar since we had been done eating for 30 minutes waiting for the check. He ignored me at first so i repeated myself and he said, thats not my section and turned back around while I was asking him to get our server. I loved the food but you should fire or re-train your entire staff. Learn how to speak to people if you are in customer service. read more

Here is a more in-depth review on the experience I had: Environment: Very easy to find location that's just about 3 miles away from the Arboretum. When you pull up, Randall's is not too far away from this joint. The parking lot is TIGHT with space so just a head's up. There are tables to sit outside at too. Inside: Wait times are crazy long. This is a popular joint for sure. Make sure to book in advance maybe about 1 hour to 2 hours ahead of heading here. It gets BUSY. Several booths, tables, and a bar to eat at too. Food and drinks: Big menu and a solid drink selection. Food was absolutely magnificent. I had to add a little bit of salt and pepper to my dishes but the flavors were amazing. Everything was thought out, and you can taste it. The fruits were fresh, eggs tasted great, and nothing was dry or bland (I just like salt). Price: The average dish comes out to be $13-$15 dollars. Portions are generous on my, "Am I getting my money's worth?" scale. Easy 4/5 for the scale. Repeat factor: Easy Y-E-S. Summary: Worth it. It does get packed but if you play it smart--this spot is excellent. My overall score with everything factored: 8.1/10. Worth the trip and the money. Not worth waiting in line for though because the food comes out fast but the tables get booked quickly, so make sure to book ahead to give yourself an easier time. read more

Since it was a beautiful day we chose to sit outside, also we would be seated right away. Our server was Paul, very attentive and had a great pace to his service. I had the veggie omelet with goat cheese which you can order a small stack of indulgent pancakes for a low price, went with the bourbon cakes. My husband had the supreme omelette and it's was amazing, we both had potatoes as a side, they were good. Coffee was hot and my cup was never empty due to the amazing service that Paul was performing. Since it was our first time we were given a complimentary plate of hot beignets they were amazing! We stopped by to give this little place a try. We ordered the eggs benedict and a side of pancakes. The food arrived, and although the plating and portions were nice, we both found the taste of the eggs Benedict was a little off. Almost like the ham was on the edge of starting to turn, but couldn't tell if that was it or the green onions that threw it off. It's hard to say. They do have a nice menu with several things to choose from, so I won't knock them on the Benedict as there are a lot more check out here. The potatoes that came with the dish were a cube style with a very nice crisp to the outside and soft inside done just right with nice flavor. Coffee was good. Pancakes were ok, just not as fluffy as most. Service: A person brought us drinks, and then we had to flag down the host to get waited on. The waitress came by and took our order and was off. She had filled my coffee, then dropped off our food and didn't see her again till we had to flag down the host again to get our ticket. Wasn't happy with the service. The restaurant was nice and clean, and the ambiance was pleasant. What a great find! I'm a big fan of breakfast food and this place did not dissapoint. The service was spectacular. From the moment we checked in and throughout the meal, everyone was friendly and accommodating. They brought me the wrong coffee, but before I could correct the mistake, they brought the correct order out. The main reason that this place did not get 5 stars is because our beignets were served on top of dirty plates that had egg on them.
