I frequent Anothai quite often and I must say that Megan D. continues to have extremely terrible attitude. I have purchased multiple giftcards from Toast Tab and have had no issue using them with other servers, but every single time i have to encounter Megan, she claims there's some new gift card policy. Last time, she claimed they don't accept gift cards period. I had used gift cards multiple times at this establishment before and I knew that was incorrect. She sat there and argued with me for 20 minutes before she called her owner to confirm that they do accept gift cards that were purchased on Toast Tab. Today, she claimed that I cannot use more than one gift card during a visit. She gave me the card reader to use and I was able to charge 3 gift cards on the same tab. She then went and said she would have to void the transaction because I was only allowed to use one. I PAID for these giftcards online, I'm not understand why I'm unable to use them. She then argued with me AGAIN, until she called her owner to confirm that you can do multiple gift cards on one transaction. After I reminded her that she argued with me last time, she proceeded to say don't come on the days that I work then, which is Tuesdays and Thursdays (today is Monday by the way). She also said I am welcome to go to the 1960 location if I don't like her service. She is EXTREMELY unprofessional and if she continues to keep it up, she will cause this establishment to lose more and more customers. read more

Wow! Probably the best Thai food I've had since Thai Pepper closed. I had the Kra Pow extra spicy delivered. So damn good I will soon visit this restaurant in person. The dish is a red curry chicken with fresh green beans, red bell pepper and spinach. Excellent, properly spicy and the jasmine rice was perfect as well. I tried this place a long time ago and was not a fan. Then this past Summer I tried it again and enjoyed it. The inside doesn't look too great, but it was quiet so we dined in. Service was fine. I was craving their poor man noodles so we ordered takeout. Unfortunately, this experience has put me back on the "no thanks, I'll pass" list. The sweet and sour sauce was WATERY. My husband and I dropped in for dinner on a Sunday evening at 5:30PM, we were one of two couples in the entire restaurant. We ordered the chicken pad thai and orange chicken with fried rice. The pad thai was sweeter than what I'm used to and the noodles were slightly thicker as well, but it satisfied the craving anyway! The orange chicken was crispy, but not as saucy as we expected. I have to update my review. I've been coming here often on for about 10 years. When they are on and doing a great job let me tell you they are doing a great job. Every now and then they'll have some mishaps but here lately they've been on a real win streak so I got to give them props. I haven't had any issues at all. Food: do you have some really good specialty dishes here that you can't find anywhere else. One is there Eno Thai fried rice. That is very good. Their Thai cashew nut chicken is also really really good. The curries are great. Their soups are really good. Their fried spring rolls are really good. Their desserts are amazing. The food here is quite good. I'm a huge fan of the pad Thai as well but I only like to either pad Thai there at the restaurant because if you get it to go it's not the same experience. I will continue to come here as long as I live in Northwest Houston. They have locations all over Houston and they are very consistent. The people to work here or a lot friendlier now. Always great food and they're so nice. Even when I order late, I get nothing but a great experience. The servers always go to amazing lengths to keep the restaurant really pretty too. My favorite thing about Anothai is their fried spring rolls; they're not mushy or weird, but always pure vegetable and noodles. Oct 2, 2022 Update: Ordered dinner - Old favorites, Chicken Panang and Chicken Pad Prik Khing. Food was ready promptly for pick up. Cost was reasonable ( $25 for both ) on the face of it. However, was disappointed when I opened the package - quantity had decreased and the Panang was watery - not what I recall from past orders. I'm surprised I have still not reviewed this place considering how often we come here. It this is our go to spot for Thai food in Spring. Our favorite dishes from here are the Orange chicken and and the pad thai with chicken and a side of fried rice rice. We also love to get the chicken satay.  We have gotten the cashew chicken as well and although it is good, it is just not something that I would normally get. The pad thai is my jam though! I visited on a Friday evening and thought I had come here before, but turns out it was a different thai place along Louetta. Inside walls are mostly red or black and although it wasn't extremely busy, there was a steady stream of customers. At first, it took a while to get someone to take my order but once they did, things sped up a bit. I ordered the tiger cry salad, thai tea and pad kra pow. The salad was nothing fancy and could use some help on presentation, but the overall taste of the dish was good. Thai tea was pretty average tasting and comes in a tall glass similar to some other thai restaurants around town. I was fairly happy with my pad kra pow beef and the spice level was about what I was expecting for the level I chose. There were no jalapeno or thai peppers in it, just seeds from what I could tell. This used to be my favorite local place. I came for years for to go orders and dining in, and I ordered on DoorDash too. When friends came in town I would bring them here. Over the last few years, I noticed the chicken started to taste off, but I would still crave my favorite dishes, so I kept trying every now and then. I have been searching for a halal Thai restaurant ever since I moved to Houston about 4 months ago, and I have officially found the treasure! I already have been here over 5 times, and have ordered almost the same thing each time . First of all, it's halal Thai, need I say more? Secondly, its delicious! The women working there are SO friendly and helpful, the restaurant is spotless, the location is great with big bright windows that improve the atmosphere of your dining experience. My husband and I usually get the wings for appetizer, and my all-time favorite thing to get for an entree is a dish called the "Thai Cashew Nut" with seafood and chicken (can't choose between one or the other, ever!). To make it even better, the portion size is more than sufficient for a person to be FULL. I like to get mine sometimes Mild in spice, or sometimes spicy, depending on how risky I feel that day. They do a lunch special up until 3PM, which includes a spring roll, some kind of soup (I actually don't like the smell of that soup, so I never tasted it), and your entree with rice. It really is a great deal, and a great experience dining here. It will always be a go-to for my husband and I to enjoy! read more

I used to like this place but in the past year their customer service have gotten really bad. I visited lately and my soup was not hot and the Thai tea had a strange after taste! I changed my Thai tea for a can soda, when we had to pay our bill I saw that they were charging me the same price for the soda as the Thai tea, the waitress told me that the owner was charging that price for the regular drink as well, when you order a chicken or meat dish, they are charged separately for the protein, I understand food has gone up but not so much to charge for small portions of food exaggeratedly, that's why they are losing customers and the restaurant is empty at lunchtime. read more

My first time here with my mom. The staff was friendly and we had pretty good service! My mom and I weren't completely starving so we wanted to sample multiple small dishes. I love that the thai tea came in a tall glass so I definitely had more to drink throughout dinner instead of needing another refill before the meal. The papaya salad was tasty but even a level 2 spice was a bit much for my mom and me. I normally can handle more spice but they were a little heavy with the spices it seems tonight. The tofu was delicious but I would have preferred to have them cut in smaller portions and maybe more crispy. The curry was one of my favorites although the potatoes were undercooked and under seasoned, possibly because they were cut a little too thick and big. The sauce itself was delicious and I was happy to eat that with my rice alone. I appreciated that the waitress knew that my mom and I were going to be sharing the meal so she brought us each a small bowl of rice, since I am sure the dish only comes with one bowl of rice. I feel that I'd definitely come back for another try and maybe less spicy food. The restaurant itself was clean and had a casual atmosphere. Great for a laid back lunch or dinner! read more

So I've been here multiple times and finally know what is good on the menu. I've stuck with 5 menu items. 1. Shrimp blanket (4/5): it has ginger in it! Pairs well with the sweet and sour sauce. 2. Papaya salad (4/5): make sure you ask them for the green beans to be boiled. Good flavor and refreshing. 3. Pineapple curry (5/5): I love pineapples! Get this is you like sweet and spicy curry!! 4. Fried red snapper (4/5): it comes out nice and crispy with 3 types of sauces. 5. Seafood pad Thai (4/5): I love this!! It's delicious!! Anothai is my go to place up north for thai food. It is not far from the house, and I've had good service for each visit. Plates typically come out in 10 to 15 minutes. I usually come on off hours so parking and seating has not been a problem. We tend to order the same plates at almost all thai restaurants. My personal favorite is the papaya salad. The wife likes the mango sticky rice. The thai spicy would be my choice of spiciness level but my fellow diners tend to not be able to handle it. read more

I give 2 stars for the decent food. However, the service in this place is horrible to me. After the 3rd time to visit, I told myself I wont come back again. I generally love Thai food a lot. Because I dont want regular iced coffee. Even though she had her mask on, I feel like she was mad at me. She walked away to get the drink also crankily told me that they only have Thai coffee over here. This week, I come back to order food to take out again. When I walked in, she was talking to another customer. She even didnt say hi to me. She continued talking to the lady. Few more mins later, she stopped talking and walked inside the kitchen to bring her food. After giving the lady food, she asked me what my name is. I paid bill and grabbed my food. She even did not say thank you or have a good one. Well, I only see her there all the time. However, I dont think she is an owner based on her attitude toward the customers. She is like want to kick the customers out. The restaurant is always empty. I dont see dine-in customers. If the service is good, the business would be much better. This place is my wife's and I go to place for Spring rolls. They are a good size and surprisingly fulfilling. We usually get to go which is better because they give you more dipping sauce than if you ate it there. It usually is quiet when eating there but you do see a lot of foot traffic from to-go orders. I like the table set up where you can draw on the table cover with crayons. It keeps you occupied while waiting. I have had the Pad thai, Pad Sue Wee, Fresh Spring rolls, Chicken Satay, and the wings. The noodle dishes were flavorful but a bit more greasy/oily than one would like. You can really taste the thai basil in the Pad Sue wee, which is a great flavor burst in the dish. Pad thai was Pad thai nothing really stood out about it here. Springs roll and chicken satay were great and just good. The peanut sauce on the chicken satay was what won me over. The wings lacked flavor and just tasted like bland fried chicken. The waitstaff are good at times. You just have to have the right person. Some of them do and say as they please others really accommodate to your needs. I know it sounds like a 3 review but I'm giving it a 4 because I like the place, the people and most of the food. read more

We ordered the green curry, papaya salad, and pad Thai. The of Thai is my wife's staple! We loved the flavor and the chili sauce that is comes with makes the dish incredible. Quiet and somewhat hidden restaurant in a small strip center. There is ample space to dine it, yet as I sit and observe, I see many customers arriving to pick up those orders to carry out. The atmosphere appears to be clean and tidy and the cashier is both pleasant and helpful as you place your order. I ordered the the Crab-fried Rice with a spice level of spicy. It was perfectly seasoned with bits of lump crabmeat throughout. I've also ordered the Pad Kee Mao , which is a wide noodle, some veggies, your choice of protein or tofu, and spice level of course. I've also tried to Green Curry (with choice of protein) and choice of spice level. ALL have been consistently prepared and equally tasting with the perfect balance and ample portions. Nothing here is lacking flavor nor would EVER be considered bland. I enjoy spicy food...not TOO spicy, because I like to enjoy my food, but enough to give it just a little kick.
