Salon is very dirty and needs major updating. The color selection is very limited and outdated. My nail tech was not trained on new techniques or colors. I went in for a pedicure and gel fill. The pedicure looked sloppy and my nails were different lengths. I don't know if it was the products used, the UV light, or both, but my nail beds were on fire when I put them in. WARNING READ THIS BEFORE COMING HERE!!! I came to this place with my wife for a manicure and pedicure. Nail Tech was very rude and careless how she was doing her job. While my wife was getting the service done, we noticed that they were talking about us. We put a translator and heard all the nasty things they were saying about clients along with us. This place says Ann's nails but I think it's called Angelic nails now (or that's what my credit card statement says). When I entered, they were not busy at all so I got to get service immediately. All I wanted was a simple manicure. I know most salons do this, but they were trying to push gel nails on me since I walked into the salon. My nail technician also tried again to push gel nails on me, as well as a pedicure. I told them nicely each time that I was not interested. During my service, I observed the greeter's interaction with other customers, and she was quite rude and pushy. Another thing that I noted, all the workers there were talking to me throughout the time of my service. I don't mind that at all, but I do when the person doing my nails begins to get distracted and not pay attention to what they're doing to my hands. The lady who worked on my nails did not do that great of a job. She barely did my cuticles, and scraped the top of my nails to death. I had a chip on my nails due to a kitchen accident, and she scraped it to the point that it almost put a hole in my nail. When I tried to pull away, she held on tight and said that it was okay, until i explained to her what the chip was from. Only then did she finally stop. When she was about to paint my nails, I had to ASK her to scrape under my nails. I believe that's normal thing to do during a manicure. When she started painting my nails, that's when she was distracted by talking to her other coworkers, she got nail polish all over my fingers. It was a pretty terrible experience. If a manicure is $14 (which I think it usually expensive for a basic manicure), then I expect it to be at least up to my normal standards. read more

This is great for a quick stop for pedicure and eyebrows! I didn't try the manicures or anything special. But I did the "spa" pedicure. I'm not sure it was a special spa pedicure but it definitely did the job. And the best part of this place is staff! They are super friendly and they actually talk to you! read more

Went Sunday for pedicure and gel manicure. The sponge from pedicure was dirty and she nicked my foot. By Wednesday I was in urgent care with bacterial infection in my foot where she scraped me with dirty sponge. Had to get tetanus shot, oral antibiotics, and antibiotics ointment from this horrible experience. read more

First off.. When a customer walks in the door, its usually best to greet them instead of just staring at them like they are asking you if you have time to talk about jesus... I stood there for probably 3 minutes after everyone stared and then went back to what they were doing. Then finally someone asked me "wattt yeww whhhannnnt" and I asked if they had time for a gel manicure. Someone took me right away, and sat me down and grabbed my hand and started filing very hard at the top of my nails where the gel manicure is. She filled so far down I could see the file marks in my natural nail. She was so rough she was filing down my knuckles yes my knuckles.. I said OUCH once and she just starred and went back to what she was doing. I asked her if she could not file my nails down that I liked the length that they are and she stared at me like I asked her in russian to bring me an eskimo.. I asked again but in a different context and she said something in another language to everyone and they all laughed.. The rest of the time she did my nails all she did was talk to everyone else in another language and laugh and laugh and laugh. I looked around and saw that no technician was speaking to their client. Until of course a barbie mom and daughter duo walked in the door looking fancy shmancy in their "designer" looking clothes. Everyone fawned over them, spoke english to them, brought them water, coke whatever they wanted. Yes I may have been in my gym gear, but I was out and about running errands and did not find it necessary to get dolled up to get a manicure done. I tried to carry on a conversation with my technician and she just stared at me and went back to speaking in another language. I looked down where my purse was and saw the nasty floor. There were what looked to be gummy stains on the floor and hair everywhere.. My technician kept having hair fall and she would just pick it up and drop it onto the floor instead of her trash can right there. She continued to grab my hands and be rough with them, jerking my hand into the UV drying and then grabbing it out when it was done. She did a very good job on the french gel manicure I will give her that. But as soon as she was done, she did a terrible job at the hand massage and didn't even bother to do the left hand... She was rushing me to hurry and pay and get me out the door so she could take Miss Barbie as a client. As I was paying, she ran off and sat down with her and began to speak english to her. I attempted to hand someone my credit card when she was busy with other things and didnt even speak to me at all. I stopped in for an eyebrow wax because my usual place was busy. They took me back right away. The service was fine, and I usually stay red the rest of the day but I was still red the next day. It started to bump and looked like an infection which I brushed off but then I woke up on day two to swollen eyelids and had to get treated for dermatitis! They do an okay job. I have been coming here off and on for years because it is convenient, but I am often trying new places to try to find the place that does a great job with pedicures, nails, and waxing (eyebrow, lip and chin). I don't mind at all that they talk to each other alot in Vietnamese, frankly I want to just rest. The reason I give them one star is because the place is filthy -- the waxing room is yucky and I'm not sure they keep the wax pot clean. At each of the nail stations the technician keep their products out and the containers are dirty as are the UV lights -- inside and out. If they were simply clean, I would probably make this my regular place. But its just too risky germ wise. read more

I've been a customer here for years. And I mean YEARS! I thought they were good (and that's being nice) before, but after this incident NEVER again. They don't even deserve one star. So my story: I got a mani/pedi last Thursday evening right after work. I had the usual girl do my nails. (sidenote: she is a sweetheart and I feel bad that I won't be coming here anymore). The girl who did my nails already left for the evening since they were closing and I was just waiting for my nails to dry. I wore my black pumps when I got there and there was no way I could put them back on after my pedi so I wore their disposable "flip-flops" out. Just this morning, I realized I left my shoes there -- yes, it's been 6 days. I have tons of shoes and I just realized today since I wanted to wear them today. Anyhow, so I called hoping they'd have my shoes. You'd think an establishment of some sort would have a lost and found. At first, the male boss/owner answered the phone. I told my story and asked if they still have my shoes. He responded with "I don't understand you". So I asked if there was anyone else I could talk to who would understand me. He proceeded to say something in vietnamese and a lady came on and said "We don't have your shoes". --so the guy did understand me-- I decided to re-iterate my story and say I was the last person at the salon that evening and left my black shoes and told her which evening it was. She then says something in vietnamese (obviously to her other lady coworkers) and yells at me "WHY YOU ONLY CALL NOW. IT'S BEEN A WEEK. YOUR SHOES NOT HERE!" I then replied nicely with "Are you sure? They are the only place I would have left them at since I walked out with disposable flip-flops". "THEY NOT HERE! -insert vietnamese cuss words and talking to everyone else in the salon about me-". I then say, "Okay, thank you. Enjoy the shoes." ...and she hangs up ON ME. Hmmm, not sure why they were so upset. Someone there got a nice pair of black banana republic pumps size 6.5 -- yup, perfect vietnamese lady size if you ask me. So sorry, Ann's Nails II - you lost one loyal customer. If they could do this to a regular customer (and I know they remember me cause I was the last one there that evening), imagine what could happen to any other customer. read more

I love Quinn. She does a fabulous job. Make an appt because she is very busy. Tina also does a great job. At every nail salon the women speak Vietnamese. Don't feel insecure they are not talking about you, English is their second language and they just feel more comfortable speaking vietnamese. read more

I really dont like this place at all!!! but i only come here when i NEED my eyebrows waxed but never my nails because its close to my job. Well what i noticed about this place was that they treat you by the way they THINK how big your wallet is , now i think of myself a good tipper considering the fact that im a waitress and i know how it works I once came in to get my nails done here which was my last time but the lady was working on me, as soon as a wealthy looking coustomer came in i was left to wait for a long time! I will need to agree with most of the posters here. The old man at the front desk who is one of the owners is not friendly. And the nail techs do talk to each other a lot in Vietnamese and pretend they don't speak much English. I moved to Gainesville a few months ago and had been getting my nails and feet done at a shop in Tysons Corner for the last 14 years, and was happy with it However, I moved out here, so decided to try Ann's, which is nearby. It was the first nail shop out here in the first shopping center, so they are busy. Upon walking in the first time, it was about 5:15pm on a Saturday. The older man was sitting behind the small counter just watching people. I said hello, that I just had moved to Gainesville and asked him what time they closed, as I would like a nail refill and a pedicure. Could they do it before closing. Without answering my question, he told me to sign in, pick a nail polish color, and take a seat. So, I assumed that meant they could do it. No hello. I followed his orders, and a nail tech came to get me. Again I asked this lady if there was time to get both a pedicure and a nail refill ( have had acrylic nails and refills for over 25 years and tip 15% to 20% in cash) No problem she said, and then started working on my hands. I was surprised. because, usually in the shops I have been in, the pedicure is first. Between talking on her cell phone many times and to the other nail people in the salon (not me), we had virtually no conversation. She finished my nails and it was almost 6pm. The cost was $23.00 and I gave her a $5.00 tip. I did think it was a bit strange that she would ask for the refill payment then, when my nail salon in Tysons never gave me a bill until all procedures were done. But being brand new to that area and to that shop, I handed over my payment when she asked, and just assumed she would collect again for the pedicure or that some one else in the shop was doing the pedicure. . Then she said to come with her, and thought ok, she is taking me to the back where the 6 pedicure chairs and basins were, and was suprised when she took me to a nail dryer and indicated to put my hands in to dry. I asked her when she was going to do the pedicure, and she said, she was leaving at 6pm, so I asked if some one else was going do the pedicure, she said no, as they were all with people, and the store was closing shortly, that I could come back the next day. and then she went back to her station, picked up and left. 2 ladies walked in about a bit later and seemed to be regulars and wanted pedicures and manicures.There were still 2 techs left who now seemed to be finished and the ladies were taken. My nails were dry, I did not say a word but quietly left. This my first introduction to Ann's, and it was not the best impression. However this salon is very close to me, right down from the Giant, where I shop, so it is easy to do both things on the same day. I will probably try them again. Unprofessional owner and the salon smells like a garbage dumpster. The owner stacks and hoards garbage in the back of the salon. No concern about customers or customer satisfaction. I walked in 30 minutes before closing to get my eyebrows waxed. The owner was sweeping and had the door opened, when I told her the service I wanted instead of holding the door open she closed it abruptly and walked away. They do a great job here and when I get my gel manicure here it lasts much longer and is cheaper. While I was pregnant they took more time massaging my swollen legs. The owner doesn't talk much and is a bit grumpy but who cares as long as they do their job? I went into the salon today to have them try to fix my nails as a lady would say they soak my nails in acetone chop them down to the skin I left with bleeding fingers and every single now that I have left is a different lengths I had gooey gel all over my hands she smacked my hand says you're done you can go now as I'm leaving they're all mumbling to each other and laughing honestly the worst Salon in the world I would not recommend this place to anyone they are out for your money and that's all they want if you go there all I can say is you are a fool I will never go back read more

A friend told me this place was awesome. I went today. It was awful! The lady who did my nails was rude. I got a basic mani/pedi. She tried to get me to do a spa mani/pedi, which costs more. I wasn't in the mood to spend extra money today. I just wanted my nails done. When I went to get a manicure, she told me I was getting the gel manicure, and pulled out the colors. I told her I didn't want it, and she was not happy. (The gel manicure costs more). At that point, she was in a rush to get rid of me so she could take other customers. She painted my fingernails fast. She didn't paint them all the way to the sides of my nails! She painted them so fast, my nail polish immediately began to bubble. I looked down at my toes, and she had missed a spot on one of my toe nails. She did an awful job. I will NEVER come back to this place. It is terrible, and I can't believe anyone would recommend it. I don't know how they keep their customers. Maybe because they have a good location??? After reading other peoples' reviews, I would like to add that I felt they were making fun of me in Vietnamese. I can't prove it, but they were looking at me, talking, and laughing. I have seen many nail technicians at many salons speak in their native language...this time I felt they were definitely making fun of me. I also felt that they brushed me aside because I'm young. The equipment that is supposed to be sterilized lays in an open packet to make it look like they sterilize them but I saw them work from one person to the next without getting a new packet. I go about once a month to a young lady who does a good,detailed job. The atmosphere in the salon,however, tends to be rude. the employees including the middle aged male owner speak in their language constantly. It is obvious when they are criticizing or making fun of customers. In fact, the last time I was in the salon a week ago, A group (6) of African American ladies came in for a variety of different services. I watched as the owner and technicians looked up in shock. It was embarassing. After the group left, the owner made a comment in his native language and several technicians chimed in. It was strange to say the least. Anyway, they never have specials. Every other salon offers mani / pedi specials. This shop doesn't give you any price break for doing both. I'm looking for a salon closer to my job in Fairfax. read more

I agree with the other reviews on here. They are not nice at all. They CONSTANTLY talk in their native language and laugh and carry on. Whether they are making fun of the customers is irrelevant because as the customer YOU feel like they are making fun of you when they make comments and then laugh. I give it two stars because the girl who does my nails does an excellent job on my nails. If she didn't do such an excellent job I would never go back again due to the atmosphere there. read more

Lin has been doing my eyebrows for 4 years now and she is absolutely incredible! I am mixed with indian and italian and have long dark eyebrows which can be a bit difficult to work with, but lin did a fantastic job every time. Highly recommend getting your eyebrows or any waxing done by her. She is so good that I will be travelling back from college to have her do my eyebrows. read more

I just had my nails done by a lady named Lynn and very unhappy. I chose a dark red polish for my nails and while she was putting it on, notice it was clumpy and was not appling smoothly. To be polite I said I am sorry but I do not like to color. Lynn said a lighter color would look good on me because I have short nails. I said great and picked a mutually agreed color. As I watched her Lynn applied one coat on my right hand and two coats on my left hand, she said she was done. It took her literally less than 5 minutes. My left nails obviously look darker. Lynn quickly sent me to the drying station and disappeared to the back. Upon further inspection, she not only missed a coat, my finger tips had polish on it. I could not see Lynn so I went to the owner and showed him her workmanship. He than said something in Vitamese to Lynn and made her upset. The owner made Lynn sit back down with me at which point she asked what needed to be fixed. I showed her how uneven the polish was as well as polish on my finger tips. Although I still have a balance on my gift cart, I will never return to this place! I am very disappointed with what I thought would be a relaxing afternoon. read more

This was my first visit and my last. I went to get a refill, pedicure, and lash extension. First they don't have alot of colors to choose from, the designs are very limited, and they took entirely too long. I got an overlay on my real nails and what was supposed to be a regular pedicure... All she did was wash my legs and feet and clip my toenails and then polish them. She also polished my finger nails. I told her that I live in Bristow, but I usually go to Maryland to get my nails done. I think that's the reason why she charged my $90..... freaking ridiculous if you ask me. I will not be going back there again. I can get so much more for my money if I travel a lil further. Plus she didn't even paint the whole entire nails. There should be polish on the whole nail.... she did a crappy job. I went here to spend time with my granddaughter and I got a gel manicure and a Pedicure, my granddaughter got a Pedicure. While we were getting our Pedicure done the ladies said "You want flower? I do it for free." So we said "Yes." And when we went to pay the total was $92 and we were charged $5 a piece for the flowers. We got two each. WE WILL NEVER GO BACK AGAIN. There is Amore nails in Manassas that does it much better and is much cheaper. THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS!!!!!!! I ADVISE YOU NEVER TO COME HERE BUT TO GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! I have been going there for many years to have my nails done by Tina. I don't really like the place, but Tina is really great. Her technique is like no other. I called last Friday to make an appointment. I was told she was on vacation and was suppose to return. But to call on Monday. I did, this time I was told she had "moved". What liars. Don't you think that after so many years with a great relationship with Tina, I would know if she had "moved"? She always gave me ample warning when she was going on vacations so I would get my nails done before she left. Noticed when applying polish too many mistakes and final work looks very sloppy! Also make sure you are clear about what you want because they will act like they didnt understand and end up charging you for more services you didnt request! You should not have to sit forever with your feet in cold water while they wait on someone else. And the only guy who does nails, usually on his phone the entire time hes working! Too expensive.
