I went to a new dentist one time and they forgot to polish my teeth... This experience felt a lot like that. This place has gone WAY downhill. I used to come here all the time a few years ago, and was in the area so thought I would stop by. Paid for the luxury pedicure at $58, which lasted barely 30 minutes (12 of which she walked away and didn't come back for). She didn't push back or trim my cuticles, she didn't file/shape my toenails... and when I asked her to do it, she trimmed some random skin from one toe on each foot (it's been a solid 4 months since I've had a pedi... so my toes were far from "already perfect"). The 10 minute "massage" was just her rubbing lotion on my legs for 10 minutes. Everything was cold.... The water, the towels, the paraffin... every time I said something she didn't do anything about it. This was in no way a positive or relaxing experience. I had a very disappointing, stressful, and unpleasant mani/pedi yesterday at Escape Nails & Day Spa. The small group I was with arrived on time for our appt on a weekday afternoon. We were picking out our polish colors, when a young male nail technician (that I've seen working there each of the 3 times I'd been there in over the 3 months before) came out, stood immediately amongst us, and waved/gestured to urge us to hurry up, pick a color, and follow him back to the pedi chairs. He was the technician who randomly chose to do my nails. I've never had a pedi or mani performed so quickly. He sped thru both services with a frenetic hostile energy, tapping too hurriedly on my legs to tell me to put my feet in or out of the water if I didn't respond immediately enough for him. The pace at which he was moving did not allow for conversation between me and others in my group. He cut my toe nails at varying lengths, and he altogether skipped pushing my cuticles back on both feet and hands. The worst part was he was passive aggressive, bordering on overtly aggressive, rude, and domineering. He was overly controlling of how I got out of the pedi chair, how I sat down on the mani chair, and how I held my feet on the floor during the mani to avoid messing up the paint on my toenails. He repeatedly barked, "Be careful" and then, "Put both feet flat on the floor." My legs were too short to sit in the mani chair with both feet flat on floor, so he finally reluctantly accepted my sitting with the balls of my feet on the floor. As I was getting up out of the mani chair that he was suddenly behind and pulling backward for me to stand up, I accidentally touched my thumbs together, and of course, messed up the paint on one. I said, "Ugh, I'm so sorry," and he gruffly snipped, "I told you to be careful!!" Once he was back behind his nail station, he reclined in his chair, snickered, and muttered some sarcastic remarks about me finding the same color, which I interpreted to mean I should find a matching color and fix it myself because he had finished his job. Then he sat up, shook his head, picked up the nail polish, let out a frustrated breath while re-opening the polish, and quickly slapped a heavy uneven coat on my thumb nail. He then aggressively stabbed the brush back into the polish bottle before standing up and rushing to pull my chair back out again for me to leave his station. I will not return to this salon. Any salon that is tolerant of such inappropriate and unprofessional behavior seems highly suspect, making one wonder what other professional service standards they're letting slide. read more

I'm so disappointed in this business and it's unfortunate because it is so conveniently located for me. There are so many issues that I'm struggling with where to start. First, I've been to this shop about 10 times and it has been consistently filthy each time that I visited. I had hoped that they would get their act together with regard to cleanliness but they never did. The technician I used each time was "Bella". The service I have received from her has been consistently rude at its worst and aloof at its best. I was referred to this shop by a friend and Bella even had the nerve to say (in a very aggravated manner) under her breath while doing my nails, " I can't believe that "name omitted" keeps referring all her friends here. What business gets angry when Customers refer other Customers??? It was after this episode that I threw in the towel and refused to return. The quality of the manicures and dipping powder were pretty good but not good enough to put up with her foolishness. They did manage to screw up my friend's pedicure to the point that she had to go to a podiatrist because of a rash related to their service. Save your time and money and stay away from this place. I get my Gel Full Set, Pedicure, Lash Extension, and my Face Wax! Kaitlin has been more a friend to me than my nail & lash tech. All staff are very welcoming and friendly! So professional! My 3 daughters and myself comes here atleast 2x a month and we NEVER LEFT UNSATISFIED! My girls can go with any nail tech and they love it! The previous times I have gone here were never a problem for me and I was always happy with the result, but yesterday they ruined my nails completely. The nail artist would mess up multiple times and blame me for it, saying I was hitting the light (UV light) or I was moving too much, which I wasn't. I tried to tell her this wasn't the color I had asked for, and she kept insisting that it would get darker after a few coats.. which surprise surprise .. it didn't. I feel and look so dumb with these nails. They are way too thick and even after asking her to drill them down more, she would insist that it's only me seeing this and it's not an issue. I'm livid, even with the nail art.. when it kept smearing, she would also blame it on me and not fix it. They were not taking their time at all, and I feel if I am going to pay for quality nails, I should receive them! I would never recommend this place to anybody. Had $50 dip nails done. With tip, $60. 4 days later they were cracking and one chipped. I went back in when I could and they fixed them. 4 days later a nail popped off completely. Then that nail broke because I couldn't get in immediately to have it fixed. When I came back I asked that they just take them off because I do t have time to come back in constantly having them fixed. I wasn't angry, just didn't want to deal with it anymore. I also had a pedicure for myself and my daughter. When I went to pay they charged me to have the $60 dip nails removed. These are supposed to last 3 weeks. I never got longer then 4 days. I don't do any kind of crazy manual labor with my hands. Had the dip before and it lasted way longer then it even should because it's hard for me to find time to get my nails done. I did tell them I was not paying $10 to have them removed, especially when they look terrible now, after not even getting a week out of them. They did take it off the bill, but I'm done. I have been coming here since May. I've seen a number of different technicians and all of them are great. I get the dip powder (they have hundreds of colors!) and it always lasts at minimum 3 weeks - sometimes up to five weeks and I work in a restaurant. They have great pedicure packages, including some that include a 10-minute full body massage in an awesome massage chair. My daughter and I went today to get a basic pedi and with fills on our nails, my daughter had one broken nail as well. Normally I see Van and she's awesome But wasn't there today so I ended up with Wendy. I'm not pleased at all, I had to have her go back 2 different time to properly shape my nails so they all looked the same and then when she was finally done I had to ask her to buff the tips so they were smooth, which I should never have had to ask, it's a standard process when getting fills. Then she did my pedi which lasted 17 minutes and that included the drying. Again had to ask her to buff the end of my toe nails because they were sharp. Absolutely Horrible experience. My daughter had another lady which she liked her pedi she got but the nail she had broken, she just put the acrylic over my daughters nail that was broke and never put the tip on after my daughter said something to her. So these are my nails after two weeks! Don't let the beautiful facade fool you. Both of the managers in the salon are a husband and wife team. Although the technicians appear to be decent at times, the managers don't like it when you voice displeasure about how they are doing your nails. He was shaping the way he wanted to and when I tried to explain that I like them square instead of round I was told in a very sarcastic way that he knew what he was doing, so to not say anything and let him finish. His wife, although she appears to be sweet is equally rude. Mind you, I've gone back at least three times for them to fix the peeling which began the day after they were first done and when I tried to get them redone I was told not to come back because I don't like the manager. I'm filing a civil complaint because it's about the principal. My advice is find someplace else to go, there are plenty of others who will give you better customer service for your money.
