This is the place to go if you want gel nail polish. I am not interested in gel nail polish. My friend and I selected a non-gel nail polish. We did not get any top coat and were not offered a nail polish drying option. After 15 minutes, my nail polish was still tacky. You can apparently opt for a package that includes alcoholic drinks if you like. Maybe that package comes with top coat. It was a very disappointing visit. I will not be returning as there are many other establishments that offer a better service for lower cost. read more

What has happened to Gossip Nails in Gainesville Va.? I was sitting outside the store and called for an appointment. When I arrived I think her name was MeMe( she sat at the Second booth to the right . She was taking my a topic off my nails and I noticed she left the old red nail polish on by my cuticles. I kept telling her the red was there.she proceeded. I saw she was not going to take it off so I asked her to clean my cuticles she did and still left the old polish around my cuticles. When she was finished I pointed it out and she said she could not get out because it was on my skin! I could not believe it! I asked to speak with her manager and her manager said something to her and showed her what to do. So she was set came over and pulled my arm at this point she was yelling and I said be careful she was still yelling and I told her she needed to calm down. I told her I would pay for her tip, but not the service. The manager did that's ok Mam ; I insisted she was still yelling she doesn't want to pay. I told her I insist I want to pay for her tip. She never took the tip and yelled I don't want the tip! So I am going to my regular Nail Shop on Tuesday. I wish I had taken a picture! Oh she was yelling so loudly and stomping around the shop! Her manager could not calm her down. This is so sad! I was their first customer in Gainesville when they opened their shop years ago! I feel and this is how you treat a customer that tells you they are not satisfied with your service but still wants to pay you a tip! I am over 70 and my arm is pretty sore from her pulling on it! I've been here twice and had awful experiences both times. Both times I went the person doing my feet cut me and made me bleed. This pic is 4 days after the pedicure and it seems to be getting more sore by the day. It hurts to walk on it and even to sleep at night because it touches the bed. When I told the lady she cut me and it burns, she proceeded to try to rub it with one of those abrasive foot scrubbers. She couldn't understand me and had to get translation. I made an appointment for 5pm. When i arrived my nail tech had just sat someone else in their chair. Waited 45 minutes to get a pedicure. While doing my pedicure because they ran out of time the nail tech i booked with LAM started to do use the electric nail file to do my nails, needless to say dust was everywhere. After we moved to the chair and I felt rushed i had to remind Lam several times to clean up the lines on my French tips. Why i choose to get a wax I'm not sure but i opted to get my eyebrows and face waxed. My eyebrows are CROOKED and uneven. And wax residue was left all over my face. Their attitudes towards my experience is laughable since i was the one paying. My nails don't look freshly done. I won't be returning. Nice shop...poor service. read more

I've been coming here for a few years and they've been solid. I recently switched to Gel X, so I've had a different tech this time (Ann) than before, but both her and Ty (LOVE!) are incredible! They feed you wine while you get pampered! :) I've gone to Ty for the last few months before switching to Gel X for dip nails and pedis and I absolutely love her. She does such an amazing job with everything and her suggestions and attention to detail are unparalleled. I feel a little bad for switching to Gel X on my hands, but she'll always be my person! (And I think she's learning how to do those because she's currently working on my daughter's refill!) In any case, strongly recommend Ty. Hannah is also great. And Ann, the owner, is fantastic and such a wonderful lady. These folks treat you well. The prices are reasonable. I had an appointment and arrived 5 minutes beforehand. I was asked multiple times by multiple people if I had an appointment, to which I answered, "yes, for 2:00" each time. Noone seemed to do anything with my reply, they just walked away. The gentleman that did my manicure is a heavy smoker, and my hands reaked of cigarettes by the time he was finished. The polish lasted less than 24 hours. I ended up removing it and painting my nails myself the following day. Complete waste of $30. read more

Got a gift card for Christmas that I finally came in to use. I requested a gel pedicure. I am picky with my nails however for a $55 pedicure you expect a decent job. Anyone who's had gel nails knows the application is the most important part of the process. The lady who did my toes was a nice lady but unfortunately gel nails are not her forte. She was very sloppy with the application. The polish pooled by my cuticles it's super thick & lumpy. You can tell from the photo she didn't even bother to polish the entire toenail. I have been coming here for a couple of months ONLY because it's down the straight from where I live. They are overpriced, have a smaller selection of colors compared to other salons, and their service is absolutely terrible. I understand being busy is something out of their control so I waited over 15 mins to start a pedicure, all to be sat in the chair and have the nail tech say she's gonna go eat and came back over 10 mins later. And then she proceeds to tell me that I messed up my nails when she's the one who can't even properly put on nail polish. Also, please avoid the lady in the picture. Possibly the worst nail tech ever. UPDATE: The owner has asked me to remove the review because "they were busy this day and the technician needed to take a lunch." I'm human and I understand busy days at work, but that's no excuse to walk away for over 15 mins and then blame me for the terrible customer service and even worse nail service. Good overall experience for my first time here. I got a gel manicure- $38. The only down side was I got very pinched on one of my finger by the cuticle clippers and that took several days to heal. I've been here twice and disappointed both times. First time I asked for a mani/pedi. They did the pedi first which was great but then let me sit in the chair for 30 minutes after. I assumed I was waiting for a tech to be available but when they finally returned they asked if I was ready to pay. They had forgotten my manicure. I was willing to give them a second try because I realize mistakes are made when things are busy. On my second visit it wasn't very busy and I just wanted a simple french manicure. I've never had such a rough and speedy manicure. Literally done in less than 15 minutes. I saw no reason for this as it wasn't busy and more than 2 hours until closing time. I didn't ask for gel because it wrecks my natural nails but whatever product they are using for regular manicures is crap. It literally started peeling off within 24 hours and within 48 looked like garbage. I've done my own nails with regular polish that lasts a week. Won't be going back. read more

She kindly waited for me then asked me if I would like any beverages (get the red wine!).
